This place is by far amazing!!! My first time seeing what Velvet Taco is about, although i haven't tried their tacos yet. I had their Spicy Tikka Chicken Bowl that comes with balsamic rice, onions, cucumbers, chicken & white sauce. That must be the "Tikka" but the chicken can be chicken tenders or rotisserie. Let me just say it be bussin' I went on a Tuesday so the be $7.50 for the bowl and for the Kick Ass margarita or sangria a small is five dollars!!!! Cant beat that & its good too! The vibe is cute too, it has an indoor & outside sitting. The service was good too, very patient when you don't know what to order, help make substitutions when needed. They call your name over a mic. Please try atleast once

I will give this place a 4 out of 5 because I haven't eaten a taco yet, but it looks delicious! I came to receive my birthday reward fro the Rewards Program. They give you a slice of Red Velvet cake with Casey's drizzle. The young woman at the register was friendly and helpful. The dining is spacious and welcoming. The outside patio is in a great location to view the Perimeter Area surroundings while enjoying the sun.

We were in the mood for some tacos and margaritas and even though they were out of their weekly taco specials and frozen margaritas, we found some good food! The brisket nachos were fine, honestly a little light on the brisket and had a little spice. The spicy chicken bowl was pretty good. Full of flavor, some nice heat and the chicken was really tender. There is some indoor seating and a ton of outdoor seating. It was a great night so we opted to eat outside under the lights!

Loved the food here, it was tasty and great portion. The server was also very kind! My tacos were delicious and I tried something new.

Velvet Taco is a favorite of mine, and I'm so happy that they opened this new location at the new Dunwoody High Street development! They have a ton of seating outside, as well as seating inside. It has the same vibe as their other locations. I love their unique tacos, and I especially love their "kick ass margaritas!" The best! I can't wait to come back here!

"Did you just give a taco place 5 stars?" Yes I did. Holy cow - we were blown away by flavor!! Really study the menu - we had buyer's remorse because we saw three other tacos we would love to try. Already planning next visit (we're from North Carolina-we just happened to come across this place). I had the brisket taco and buffalo chicken taco - brisket was so flavorful & a bit spicy. Perfect. Buffalo chicken was good (too much blue cheese for my tastes, but that is totally me. I don't like cilantro either.) My husband had the picnic chicken tacos - great!!! Little spice from the honey Dijon was perfect. Deep fried chicken skin bits were delicious. I had the curry queso - I wanted to try something different. Soooo many flavors! Staff was friendly. Restrooms were clean.

Was in walking distance of my hotel and had rave reviews, so had to try it. Tuesday night at 7 pm, 7 table tops occupied, but still seating for another 13. I ordered: - Fish 'N Chips $5.95 -- not crazy about the curry aioli - Chicken and Waffle $5.95 -- delicious! Waffle shell is unique, but was already getting soggy and falling apart while I ate it. - Sweet Chili Shrimp $5.95 -- I saved this for last, but my stomach started hurting by the time I got to this one. That's a pretty fast negative reaction; maybe it's the curry...the shrimp was good, but my tastebuds were left with a salty aftertaste. Food took 16 minutes to receive, which is longer than expected. There was definitely two parties that ordered after me and received their food before me including a big party of 7. I got lost in the shuffle...I ended up having to go up to the counter and asking about the order, only for it to be already sitting on the back counter. They had definitely not called my name yet... Flavors were strong, just not my cup of tea. I don't think I'd come back unfortunately, despite the good reviews from others.

One of the employees, Ike, really went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The salsa wasn't great, it tasted more like marinara sauce, so I wouldn't recommend it. However, Ike kindly offered us another appetizer, which was awesome. Overall, I highly recommend this location! The food is delicious, and the green margaritas for St. Patrick's Day were a fun touch. Plus, this spot has a cute atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating, even more than the Buckhead location. They were also playing great music!

Soft Launch - grand opening on Monday, July 1st! The overall experience was top-notch. From the customer service check-ins, the Jovial announcement of your order being ready & the art of varied tacos. A unique & creative concept in serving funky fast-casual setting tacos. There are three Vegan options with slight modifications. The flour tortillas are not Vegan, yet you can substitute them with Lettuce Wraps. I got two complimentary tacos - the Nashville Tofu & Fried Cauliflower, both were delicious & with the right amount of spice. Nashville will be my go-to. I also selected Chips & Guacamole & a Jarritos Grapefruit drink. A light offering of Libations: Grand Kick Ass Margarita - Lunazul premium blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar. Sangrita - red wine blend, kick ass margarita, boozy pineapples and apples. Sangrita Swirl - red wine blend, frozen kick ass margarita. Ranch water - Lunazul premium blanco tequila. They offer a few Beers. The rhyming announcement of your order being ready is so entertaining " customer's name is Taco Time or Dip on by for your Guacamole". Every team member, regardless of their position made their way around to check in on everybody & their experience. Prices are extremely easy on the pockets. This brand-new location is right across from the Dunwoody Marta Station. Velvet Taco - welcome to the neighborhood!

In my opinion, tacos could be a separate good group, so when I saw this spot I had to try it. Came in for dinner on a Saturday, it was kind of slow. I ordered the quac and chips for an app and three different tacos for the entree, spicy tikka chicken, quesa birra duo, and the kobe smashed burger. She ordered two of the Mexi-Cali shrimp. The tikka chicken was delicious with just the right amount of spice, the Kobe smashed burger was off the chain good, and her shrimp also delicious. The birra duo not so much. Much too greasy and too much cheese to eat. Overall the meal was good. The staff could be a little more warm and welcoming, it seemed as though we were inconveniencing them at 6 pm for dinner with only two other parties in the place. Otherwise the vibe of the spot was cool.

Service was great from the regular employees. The Elote was the STAR! I could bathe in it! The chips and queso was perfect not spicy. I ordered the Quesa Birria Duo (too salty) the consume was perfect, Fried Paneer (perfection), Grilled salmon (bland and too spicy), Fish and Chips (yummy).

Strange tasting margaritas and overpowering lime taste in the food. Buffalo chicken taco oozed in red sauce that overpowered the dish.

Menu is extensive which could make it difficult to choose from so many dishes. Chips and salsa were brought almost immediately with a medium level of spice. The waiter asked if we wanted the habanero salsa. I took one tiny taste and it definitely was spicy! I decided to get the Enchiladas Suizas combination plate (with rice, green beans and pico de gallo). There were 2 enchiladas with shredded chicken, smothered in a sauce with lots of Mexican cheese on top. The meat was tender. My friend ordered a 1/2 order of the Nachos supreme with ground beef. The waiter and my friend said that the regular order of Nachos was huge! They weren't kidding! Our waiter was attentive, checking to make sure things were good and if we needed refills on our drinks or anything else we might need. Found out the salsa is home made, which is a good thing! There is patio seating available, tables in the bar area and regular booths and tables in the main dining area. The FIFA World Cup match was playing on multiple screens, creating a lively vibe throughout the restaurant. There was plenty of seating available, both indoors and on the patio. The menu is extensive--almost a little overwhelming--but I already knew I was in the mood for tacos, so ordering was easy. The tacos arrived surprisingly fast, and the portion sizes were just right. My only critique is that the beef could have been seasoned a bit more to bring out additional flavor. Overall, though, the meal was satisfying, the service was quick, and the prices were very reasonable, making it a solid choice for a casual taco outing.

I'm not going to knock it for its fairly limited hours (Virtually no dinner hours) or for the fact that it's pretty much to-go only. Those are understandable and hey, it is what it is. On the plus side, they're serving real Mexican food and they do offer some offbeat cuts like Beef Tongue which is a good sign. Unfortunately, the food here is overpriced for what you get. I ordered a Carne Asada Torta and a side of rice. The Torta was relatively small, but tasty! I did enjoy what I got, but for ten dollars it is a steep ask. The side of rice was 3 dollars, fit about half a small clamshell container, and was bad. To be blunt, it looked like it was made by British people, not Mexican. I had to add salsa to taste anything at all in it. Overall, Taqueria Taquito Express does offer some authentic quick Mexican fare, but they went one for two on quality, and at the price point they're asking for, you can do far better.

I didn't try a normal taco, so not sure if there's a notable difference in the tortilla, but I thought the pastor taco was solid as well. I felt like perhaps it was lacking a little in flavor? Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it.
