    Cool skull toilet

My sister and I popped in on a summer Sunday, without a reservation. We were asked if we'd be okay sitting at the bar, which we were. The red and black color scheme, paired with the fun animals and hunting theme delivers eye catching decor. Side note- If you make your way to the restroom you'll discover a fun black skull toilet. The bartender (blonde young lady) doubled as our waitress and was fantastic. I told her I was in the mood for a fruity cocktail. She asked what kind of drinks I normally like. When I told her cosmos or margaritas, she suggested that she should make a hybrid drink that she thought I'd enjoy. Indeed I did. We named it a CosmoRita. I don't know what she did to make it, but it was awesome! We got burnt ends as an app. They were okay, but not the best I've had. For our entrees, we got the bavette steak with a loaded baked potato and apple compote as well as a NY strip with mashed potato and asparagus. Both main dishes were delicious and the beef was cooked just as we asked. The steaks came out topped with a cowboy butter that melted all over. I loved that touch. Overall, we had a great meal and great service. I'd go back!

I didn't know I needed Low Stakes Lodge in my life... but I do. Every new spot in Portland seems to be some variation of small plates New American... Low Stakes Lodge offers a new take by... emanating Bugaboo Creek? My husband and I popped in on a Thursday night with an hour before our show, and sat at the bar. The place was busy but not overly busy. What we had: Moosifer's Lament (cocktail) - delightful although beware charcoal Mocktail - they don't have mocktails on the menu but they mixed up one of the best ones my husband has had in Portland. Cheers to that. French onion soup - classic and delicious Wedge salad - also classic and delicious NY Strip with mashed potatoes and asparagus - soooo good. The butter on top of the steak was surreal. Portion is huge... you can definitely split it between two people (we did and have healthy appetites) Their house beer is $5, and the prices are honestly quite reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Our total bill was $115 before tip, which is honestly hard to beat in Old Port anymore - and we were totally stuffed. Highly recommend, and I will be back!

Super cool cowboy steakhouse vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. Homemade bread with honey butter was scrumptious and the jalapeno popper special was so good. My steak was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were fluffy, buttery heaven. Can't wait to go back!

First off I want to say if you are looking for a traditional steak house vibe, this isn't it. Still a super fun relaxed vibe just not traditional. Long bar and lots of tables with a talking moose on the wall. Overall very reasonable prices for food and drinks. We for the "blooming onion" thing and it was great. We also got the NY Ribeye which was great but not the best steak I have ever had. The bar tenders were very nice. Overall I would stop in for a drink and an app but if I want a traditional steak this wouldn't be my stop.

Congrats on your Opening, Low Stakes Lodge! My husband and I stumbled upon this spot on their opening night totally by happenstance and as people who love a theme, this 'dive bar' was next level! With the same owners of High Roller Lobster, every detail was well thought out. I enjoyed a 'Low Stakes Logger' American IPA brewed by Belleflower Brewing exclusively for Low Stakes Lodge and my husband had their Espresso Martini on draft, both delicious! I also love that they offer macro beers in cans and bottles for under $5, where can you get a drink out that cheap these days?? We found them after dinner but we'll definitely go back for food next time!

Love the atmosphere and the "Stakes" were perfect. My wife was thrilled with the Bavette and my Strip was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Staff was attentive and extremely friendly!

The space was warmed by, a variety of plants throughout the space. The ferns are huge and amazing. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating accessible by large garage doors. The staff were very nice and friendly, and offered their opinions on which beers our group would enjoy. They had a large sampling of IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Our group tried the Austin Street Lagers, Obsolete Vernacular- a mango ale. and a fox street ale, and enjoyed all of them. If in the Portland area. this is a must !

If you were unaware Austin Street found their start with their original location in Industrial Way Portland area alongside lots of breweries in the area. I believe my first visit and taste of their beers was around 9 or 8 years ago. Once this location opened up it became the go-to for visiting Austin Street as it's updated and honestly nicer. I enjoyed their first location but let's be real this space is more unique and larger! Been to this spot many a times including earlier today. They still have an industrial feel to the place but have so many plants all around to brighten the spot up. Inside while beautiful I must say the true highlight is during warm weather with their large garage doors open. It also adds tons of additional seating to enjoy the weather too! Staff is always so friendly and ready to pour your drink with a smile. Beer wise they have a large variety including IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Including a special release each year made for International Women's.For non-beer drinkers don't fret, you can find wine, ciders, seltzers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. They also offer some snacks and frequently have food trucks/carts serving as well. With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland. Well made beers with enough options for everyone to enjoy a drink even non beer fans. A place that supports many good charities/causes and hosts lots of events.

I've been several…read moretimes and I make a point to bring every out of town guest there because it's not just a meal, it's an experience. This weekend I took my best friend and it was perfect, even in the middle of winter. The deck is still open with plenty of space heaters and even heated seat cushions. We actually got so warm we had to peel off layers, which feels like a small miracle in Maine. The two of us love a marg & taco outing, and make a point to scope out the best of the best. We started with chips and salsa and some queso, which were the perfect kickoff. Then we ordered the street corn succotash, my absolute favorite. It's packed with flavor and topped with the most delicious, salty cotija cheese that pulls everything together. I crave that dish. We split the smoked brisket tacos and the smoked pork carnitas tacos, and both were outstanding. The meat was smoky and tender, the flavors were bold without being overdone, and every bite delivered. And the margaritas? Excellent and refreshing. Exactly what you want alongside that food. On top of all that, the staff is consistently wonderful. Every single time we've gone, our waitstaff has been charming, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. They strike that perfect balance of checking in without hovering, and they make you feel welcome from start to finish. Terlingua never disappoints. Great atmosphere, incredible food, thoughtful touches that keep you cozy even in winter, and a team that clearly cares about the experience.

That being Chip, Guacamole, and Salsa. I will say I was a bag fan of the Guacamole. I was very was seasoned and very fresh. So for the mains them Family Style comes with Smoked Prime Brisket, Pork Shoulder (Pulled Pork), and the Rotating Daily BBQ which for us I believe were Burnt Ends which are one of my favorites. For the side we had Mac & Cheese Cornbread w/ Honey Butter, House BBQ Sauce & Spicy Vinegar with Pickles and Salad. To start with the sides that Mac & Cheese was really good but the winner was for the the Cornbread with the Honey Buter. The 2 just paired together so well. For the mains my favorites were the Smoked Prime Brisket and the Burnt Ends. The Brisket was good., probably not in my top 3 all time but for sure a must try. The Burnt Ends were also very good. You can't always get Burnt Ends but when you can it's for sure a must. We really enjoyed Terlingua and can't thank the staff enough for working with us for this event. For sure a must stop in Portland when you have a big party. Just plan ahead because they are so helpful to work with.
