We came her in the afternoon during the week so it wasn't super busy, but I can see why this is a highly recommended spot. The space is super cool and also very clean. The tap list is quite extensive and has something for everyone. I got the Fantastic Planer which was truly fantastic. Nice tartness but still an easy drinker. Would definitely come back if in the Portland area!

Oxbow Blending & Bottling we have had a while back. It just kind of slipped through the cracks unfortunately but better late than never. What was kind of surprising while reflecting and recalling this beer experience was that I gave the experience a pretty high rating on Untappd and I thought I'd be rushing right over to Yelp to write a review about it. But better late than never, right? The beer that we had was the Farmhouse Pale Ale. This was a good one! With this saison-ish Pale Ale we cheerfully found flavors of hoppiness, a clean finish and an overall dry presence when we enjoyed this beer. I know my description of the flavor profile sounds like numerous other beer experiences that we have had. But this beer and it's elements really came together well and that is why I rated it so highly. While we didn't try out other beer options if they are as impressive as this Pale Ale was then this brewery definitely has a good thing going for it!

Great selection of unique beers including a half-dozen multi-fermented beers and other style beers you simply cannot get on draft anywhere else. In this town, where IPAs dominate, this is a refreshing alternative. Space is also quite open, very kid-friendly, and on the night I was there, the music was super chill. I have visited their location in Oxford many times, but there's a much bigger draft beer selection in Portland. Note however that there is no food served at this location aside from the Duck Fat frites shack outside.

Came here on my little Maine Brewery tour. We came on the earlier side so it was not too crowded. The beer hall area is spacious and has picnic table seating. I tried one of their lagars and my friend had a ginger beer. We sat at the bar area. The atmosphere was cool and chill and good beer. The one person working there when we were there was not the nicest but he was fine.

Stopped by the bar to wash down some Duckfat fries with a hard cider. Great vibes - pretty chill during lunch hour but I'd imagine even better at night! Plenty of seating both inside and outside. Friendly server. They have beer, wine and hard cider.

A unique combination of flavors and styles separates this brewery from the other breweries in Portland. This was a brewery I got some beer to go to drink back at the hotel throughout our trip. Too many good beers here to try you need a couple of visits to experience them all properly.

This review is for attending a concert at Oxbow Blending & Bottling. Which I must say until I recently bought my tickets I was unaware they had concerts. For anyone who grew up during the period of time where the top social media site was run by a man simply known as Tom and made you decide to anger friends by having you put your top friends. This was a concert for you, as the headliner was The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, whose biggest hit is Face Down. Staff for entering were friendly and we showed our IDs then got a wrist band before scanning our tickets. Then we walked inside and were excited to see that the venue was on the smaller side. Personally I think it's cooler to see bands in a smaller venue so you can be closer and it feels more personal. They had a couple days next to a large wall of barrels, that I assume was holding their beer. Then a row of sound people for the show and then a huge space for the crowd with the back of that space being a large bar. Each end of the bar had water available and then from the bar you could grab Oxbow beers as well as guest ciders/wines/NAs. Water being free at a concert venue is amazing compared to the crazy prices you usually pay and even beers were typical brewery price and not concert venue prices. Only suggestion I would make is due to the acoustics of the venue being earplugs of some sort to protect your ears from damage. The three opening bands were good, and will be three new bands I listen to. You could meet all of them at their merch tables as well. Then TRJA stole the show and put on a phenomenal performance. You could really tell they cared about the fans as well as their music. I think if you are a fan of music you should check out Oxbow for a concert. Their poster of recent shows looked like a huge variety of genres so everyone could find their style of concert.

Just stopped in for a pint with friend from Portland ... nice beer selection and spacious spot with nice tunes. We sipped outside in some old chairs next to a stone fire ring. Counter service was quick ...

We found this place from a staff at Duckfat. We were going to have lunch at Duckfat but the wait were about an hour. The staff there said we can just go to Oxbow because that's where the Duckfat Frites Shack at. You can bring the poutine inside and enjoy it with some beers, which is fantastic! The place is very spacious. Plenty of seats available. Their specialty is farmhouse ale. Beers were great. If you love strong ale, check out Noel. It's a seasonal dark ale. It's really good. Staff were polite. If we happen to be in Portland again, we'll definitely go back! If you love poutine and beers, this place is highly recommended.

Great casual space to hang out and enjoy the company of friends. Visited around lunchtime on a Saturday and tried their beer flight. Not too crowded at all. All beers were very delicious and varied in flavors. Great atmosphere and lighting with plenty of seating. Even better with the Duck Fat shack to eat poutine with!

Huge space with a lot of tables (although when we stopped back the next night for frites, they had the tables removed for a disc golf tournament) Lots of different styles of beer. And plenty to choose from. The beers were all really good. And outside they have a frites stand which has delicious frites and sauces.

Had no idea all three were located here, pleasant surprise. I enjoy Allagash white so we decided to stop in. The campus is a good size with gigantic tanks no doubt filled with liquid gold! Outdoor seating area with fire pits for warmer weather enjoyment. Entrance had a woodsy feel to it with signage that was clear to read. In the courtyard you choose which way to go; right heads into the outside beer garden and left brings you inside the brewery and gift shop. Beer garden for us. Seeing that it was covered by a tent thought for sure it was going to be cold inside , we were pleasantly surprised! Decor was paper chains and tissue paper hearts for Valentine's season. They had a creative station for folks to make their own Valentines. Also in the same area was a game bookshelf filled with board and card games to play. At the bar was a young man smiling as he welcomed us. We read the menu and for something different I chose "Cabin Weekend" the name reminded me of our camp in the Western mountains. We both enjoy whiskey so thought the aged barrels used for this brew would make a tasty treat. Grabbed our beers and then over to the food truck attached to the tent, clever. Bite into Maine is the food truck here today, unsure if different trucks come here or not. We wanted something small and shareable. Mac and cheese it was. We sat down at one of the many empty tables and began to enjoy our beers and food. Cabin weekend was so delicious! It was a strong onto 8.9%! Tasty with the faintest hint of whiskey and a cabin feel for the finish. The Mac and cheese was dense and rich!! The fork could practically stand upon its own! It was good in my opinion however don't think I could have finished the portion in my own. We enjoyed so much we will be back for some to bring away with us to our cabin in the woods.

Several more visits since my last review…read more Some things haven't changed: -- The beers are still great. Swish, Here's to Feeling Good All the Time, Nothing Gold, and Reciprocal are a formidable foursome. At any given time, you can usually get at least two, more often three, sometimes all four. -- You'd be hard pressed (pun intended) to find a better smashburger in Portland, but I'd also put it up against any regularly-offered burger I've had in Portland--smashed or otherwise. I love everything about it, from the high caliber of the beef to the fresh pillowy milk bun to the exhilaratingly strong cure of the bacon to the razor-thin cutting of the vegetables to the execution that gets even a smashburger burger juicy. -- I'm still not crazy about the wings. They have a frozen dinner feel to them. A few things, though, have changed: -- Full service now instead of having to order everything at the bar. That's a plus. -- The place is much more crowded-- including screaming tykes-- on the weekends. Not a plus, but can't fault a place for its own popularity. -- The fries are now the industrial strength coated kind. A big minus and a sad drop off from prior greatness, but better that than from an item off the main cast. -- You can now order beer cans to go from the table rather than having to get in line. A nice convenience. A few things to know: -- It's a surprisingly good option for vegetarians and pescatarians. The veggie burger and the grilled fish sandwich are both much more than solid. -- There's outdoor seating in front of the building and also to the right. -- The bar room to the right of the entrance is adults only, so if those screaming tykes get on your nerves, this is the place to be. -- You can still order beer at the bar if that's your preference over table service. Still a favorite, and the combo of beer, food, and space is tough to beat (Mast Landing and Maine Beer in Freeport are also somewhere in that echelon).

As an IPA fan I enjoyed this new version very much for its hop saturated citrusy forward taste that drank quite smooth for the 9.5%. At this point now Bissell is broken into two separate parts. The first will be the space welcoming to families and is more of their restaurant style area. Appeared to be a popular area and does offer reservations. My preferred area is the Bissell Garden as they call it. Those entering need to be of drinking age and have more lounge vibes where you order at the bar. It still offers full kitchen menu so is perfect. Particularly my favorite is snagging bar stools to grab some beers and food. I had to try out the Super Swish while my wife grabbed their red ale named Turnpike. Then food wise we split their kitchen special Classic Poutine. Some of the best classic kept simple poutine I have had. The perfect comfort food for yet another cold weather day in Maine. Have been impressed by all the food from Bissell. Truly the only negative still stands being the fact it's on Thompson's Point and required paid parking (not Bissell Brothers call but still). One of the most popular Maine breweries for a reason especially in the IPA game. Give all their other style of beers a try too though, top notch brewery!

Staff is always so friendly and ready to pour your drink with a smile. Beer wise they have a large variety including IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Including a special release each year made for International Women's.For non-beer drinkers don't fret, you can find wine, ciders, seltzers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. They also offer some snacks and frequently have food trucks/carts serving as well. With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland. Well made beers with enough options for everyone to enjoy a drink even non beer fans. A place that supports many good charities/causes and hosts lots of events.
