One of the last breweries we visited while in Portland and we were not disappointed. The brewery is very open, large and has an industrial feel, but a warm atmosphere. The space was warmed by, a variety of plants throughout the space. The ferns are huge and amazing. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating accessible by large garage doors. The staff were very nice and friendly, and offered their opinions on which beers our group would enjoy. They had a large sampling of IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Our group tried the Austin Street Lagers, Obsolete Vernacular- a mango ale. and a fox street ale, and enjoyed all of them. If in the Portland area. this is a must ! read more

Yet another brewery review from me and another five star! What can I say, I enjoy most breweries and love seeing the wide variety of them around. If you were unaware Austin Street found their start with their original location in Industrial Way Portland area alongside lots of breweries in the area. I believe my first visit and taste of their beers was around 9 or 8 years ago. Once this location opened up it became the go-to for visiting Austin Street as it's updated and honestly nicer. I enjoyed their first location but let's be real this space is more unique and larger! Been to this spot many a times including earlier today. They still have an industrial feel to the place but have so many plants all around to brighten the spot up. Inside while beautiful I must say the true highlight is during warm weather with their large garage doors open. It also adds tons of additional seating to enjoy the weather too! Staff is always so friendly and ready to pour your drink with a smile. Beer wise they have a large variety including IPAs, pale ales, lagers, and sours. Including a special release each year made for International Women's.For non-beer drinkers don't fret, you can find wine, ciders, seltzers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options. They also offer some snacks and frequently have food trucks/carts serving as well. With a lot of events scheduled too, including today that was a Summer Puppy Pool Party so as you can tell they are dog friendly. One of the many amazing breweries in this area of Portland. Well made beers with enough options for everyone to enjoy a drink even non beer fans. A place that supports many good charities/causes and hosts lots of events. read more

I must admit we originally planned to visit a brewery next door,but ASB's patio lured us more :) inside out,super cozy,surrounded by hanging plants. Super friendly staff,helping select beers (IPA lovers-rejoice!). They don't do flights,so something to have in mind. They have dedicated parking off-street,which was very convenient. read more

We just LOVE Austin Street. We visit Portland a few times a year, and Austin Street ALWAYS makes the must-visit list. It is such a beautiful brewery with gorgeous plants and greenery everywhere. They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating and also have a generous pile of games that you can use while visiting. Their service is wonderful, and they are always happy to help you pick the right beer for your tastes. And of course... the beer is really, really good. We will be back again and again! read more

My biggest complaint about Austin Street Brewery is that I wish they had more indoor space. In nice weather, there is plenty of outside seating available as well what they do have indoors (including some very comfy couches). There's also a small but fun selection of group/party/card games available in the back. They do have fire pits, which we took advantage of until we could get seating inside, and that helped. But stronger winds (remember, we're near the water) blew the flames from the pit in every direction, and the "shelf" around the top of the pit was maybe 5" wide, which meant anything you put there occasionally ran the chance of being hit by the flames whipping around in the wind. That said, we did enjoy the beer there, which was of course why were there. There were 2 stouts available today, but they were between kegs for one, so I had the other, I liked the flavor, but I wish it had been deeper and stronger. Those seeking IPAs and sours were generally impressed. Definitely include this brewery when checking all of them out in or around Fox St. read more

Now THIS is how a brewery should treat customers. Nice, friendly beertender! Super cool ambiance inside - clean, bright, plants everywhere, comfy mini couches & tables, little heaters. In a word - AWESOME. Delicious beers too. The Short Story Long Imperial Stout is sooo very tasty. Bet it's even better here in warmer weather too with the big garage style doors open! Located nearby Rising Tides, Austin Street Brewery has lots of outdoor patio seating and is perfect for big groups. My suggestion is if you plan to taste beer at one of these breweries, also try the other one. Austin Street Brewery has a large parking lot and occasionally has food trucks. They don't offer flights of beer, but they will let you try a couple before picking something out and they offer a few difference sizes. So, if you're looking to taste or try a few, you can get your beers in 8 oz glasses. Patina, the pale ale, is their flagship beer. I also tried the Kolsch. I liked both beers. I found the folks behind the bar super nice. This brewery is a fun place to spend an afternoon. read more

Stopped in on a bit of a brewery hop- it's definitely Trendy and feels Austinlike. They don't do beer flights but let you try sips- personally didn't love either of the sips I tried but still just ordered one small beer since I was there. The beers all felt heavy and perfume like, one even giving us instant heartburn. Service was OK, love the iPad automatically showing tips only 20% and above. Another great brewery in Portland. They don't have flights which I don't love but you can get small pours of all their beers. They have some wine options as well if you aren't into beer. They serve some snacks but typically have a food truck on site. I'm not a huge beer fan but when they have a sour I typically get it. Decent little spot. We got here 30 min before closing on a Sunday afternoon. I grabbed the Offset DIPA. $9 was a bit pricey. It was very juicy but almost too juicy if there's such a thing. The outdoor area is nice and private, albeit right next to some dumpsters which can be unfortunate when the wind blows the wrong way. The "beer tender" was very nice and def helped keep up the positive vibe despite cleaning things up and doing last call. Glad I stopped in but probably would hit the other spots nearby first next time. read more

Went to Austin Street a few weeks ago. We sat outside but it was breezy. I didn't love the beer, but my husband liked his. The bartenders were really great. They have food trucks sometimes but we brought food from Whole Foods, which is very close. In general, I'd choose rising tide over Austin street but it was decent. read more

A great local spot for a good beer, good music, and almost always an event or tasty food truck! Trivia every Monday night at 6pm! The Fox Street location is open 7 days a week, and is generally steady all days, but exceptionally busy on weekends (think outside standing-room only). Their indoor seating is warm, cozy, and full of hanging plants - very instagrammable. They also have outside seating on their patio with heaters to keep you warm if inside seating is not your thing right now. I always am greeted with a smile (underneath a mask, but the eyes tell all!), and knowledgeable service. The staff know their beers, and also have a selection of non-beer items as well (rotating wine, cider, and non-alcoholic seltzers) so you're covered on all fronts. This location is super accessible and in a busy area. The inside looks like a butcher shop, maybe a coffee shop, but it is a brewery with a cooler and canned beers for sale. There are few tables and it is pretty quiet. Outside, there are lots of picnic tables and it is nice to sit outside on a warm day. The beer, yes, I am going with 4 stars, I wasn't happy with the no flight policy (why are breweries not doing flights?) and the session beers were not flavorful, but the regular IPA's and black IPA's were legit, like solid. Walked over from Rising Tide after seeing the brewery building and we were glad that we did! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a pizza food truck stationed right near the entrance. It's a small selection of eight rotating taps with a fridge full of cold bottles and cans to go. We opted to sit inside on the comfy white chairs with the air conditioning instead of the picnic tables outside. The music was loud outside but it was a great volume inside. The bartender was really welcoming and let me try a sample of the Obsolete Vernacular before I committed to the 8 oz pour which is the smallest size available. My beer was an easy sour to drink and not too tart with a good blend of pineapple and mango. I wouldn't call it a true sour but it was nice and refreshing. My table partners had the 8 oz of the Proximal saison that had an off aftertaste. Overall, the atmosphere was calm and the inside was clean with a nice vibe. Definitely a great place to stop for a cold beer. read more

Loved this brewery! We came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in October which means there were tons of other people with the same idea. They don't have a reservation system, so you just have to stand in line outside for a table. Though that sounds terrible, we only waited about 30 min for a party of two. We also put our name down at Rising Tide next door, which took over 2 hours!! We ordered the Offset double IPA, a normal IPA, and a pale ale. All were great but we ended buying cans of Offset to take home. They have limited food options, so eat before coming! They also have super cute merch! I couldn't resist one of their Portland crew neck sweaters and tote bag. Highly recommend this spot! The beers are great and the environment is chill and relaxed :) read more

When I was first introduced to Austin Street, it was at their location at Industrial Way. The space was incredibly small, cramped, and there was nothing that particularly appealed to me. However, in some time, Austin Street has grown and produced this location on Fox Street, which is really stunning. First off, the location is vastly different compared to their Industrial Way location. It's open, spacious, and there are large expansive windows to let in natural light. The brewery adds some nice touches with greenery, which is directly contrasted with the brewery's industrial feel. There is plenty of seating throughout the venue with numerous tables, and during the nicer weather, they open up the garage doors and have picnic tables to sit at. Another huge plus is that this location is near other breweries on the East End of Portland, so it draws in people that brewery hop. Since I was first introduced to Austin Street, they have grown in what they brew as well. Before, there wasn't a beer that I particularly found special, however that has changed since. They brew some really juicy IPAs and have made some really nice sours, as well. My favorite tends to be the obsolete vernacular, which is a sour that is brewed with various fruits. They are consistently brewing and changing their options, so it's nice to try things that may not be around for long. Definitely a brewery to check out when you are on the East End! read more

Austin Street is one of my go-to local breweries. They have a frequent rotation of new brews which keeps it fairly fresh each visit. They do not offer sampler flights but if you ask to try "a little taste" of any brew they are happy to oblige free of charge which is a great way to find a beer you like before pulling the trigger on a full 12 or 16 oz pour. In the warmer months they have a rotating by the day variety of food trucks which provide great eats to go with beers, our favorite being farmtocoastmobilekitchen! Favorite beer is by far the Walcott, a smoked brown ale that is truly awesome! Other standouts are the Bennu, a coconut stout or Six Grain, a milk stout. Easy to find location with on site parking, an open area outside and inside with plenty of tables and good vibes with the nicest bartenders. Highly recommended! read more
