Mojoe's Grill reminds me so much of those independent, Greek-owned fast food spots back home--the kind that do everything from gyros to burgers, and do it right. The gyro here is legit--carved from the spit, flavorful, and exactly what you'd expect if you grew up in the 708/312/630/847. Honestly, it's the closest thing I've found in the area to that classic Chicago fast-food experience. Their burgers and Philly cheesesteaks also look solid, and I'll definitely be working my way through the menu. We have been coming here for years, it's been 3-4 months since our last visit and something has dramatically changed. The cheesesteaks are not what they used to be from the bread to the meat that's used. I ordered a cheesesteak combo with onion rings and a drink. The exact same order i have been ordering for years, to my surprise the gentleman that took the order rang it all up separately. ($7.75 just for the onion rings and drink) When I inquired I was told that a combo was fries only. Nowhere does it say that, I told him I understood that onion rings are more expensive and I'd expect it to be more than just the $3.50 for a combo as it has always been. We love Mojos grill for a quick bite to eat. The staff are super friendly and service is always quick. The food isn't anything spectacular but it's well made and the portions are large. Came here with a friend who lives in garner and has come here before. It's located in a big strip mall off Timber, so plenty of parking. Good assortment of sandwiches and some platters. I got a gyro with lamb and beef and it was good except there was very little taziki sauce. Tea was good as well. My friend got a club sandwich and we were surprised at how big it was and it was declared very good. Customer service was just ok, not very friendly. Loved the old car theme throughout the place and was told there's a car show in the parking lot often. Clarifying: We did not come here to eat and we will explain why below -- My boyfriend just let me know about this story, this happened about a month ago. He wanted to try this place with me and I have a severe peanut allergy. As a precaution, he wanted to call ahead to make sure that they didn't cook with any peanut oil (not an uncommon practice) and also very cautionary for both the restaurant and myself... obviously? So he called and the man (sounded older idk what his name was) scoffed at my boyfriend when he asked about the allergens, and gave him an attitude and ask him "Like what?" Like dude, idk??? Anything? You don't know your menu? He said "You think a cheesesteak has peanuts in it?" with an attitude. TLDR: Phenomenal customer service plus great food at a reasonable price. Note: they are located on Timer drive not on the Wake Tech campus. Their past location still shows up on Google maps even though they have requested its removal. We have ordered food here a few times. I am always impressed by the flavors, portions, and prices. This place is awesome! The decor is classic car themed and they usually do a classic car show in the parking lot I think once a week and have local musicians come and play. While we were eating we discussed the two houses we saw in Garner and one in Raleigh and contemplating which was the better move. My husband loves this place and chose it for Takeout Tuesday, and we ordered from here (Garner) even though we live in Raleigh. I got a Gyro without veggies. Just sauce and meat. It had tons of lettuce, tomatoes and onions. After removing the veggies, there wasn't any sauce left, which was the best part. I get home and my husband has a Lamb platter waiting for me! Delicious pieces of lamb over pita bread, greek salad and fries. It was delicious. First time ever having something like this. And it all went together so well. My husband had the chipotle wings and fries and they were good too. Sauce was perfect and wings cooked all the way through. My four year old had mozzarella sticks and fries and ate all of it. Thats says a mouthful, she is the pickiest eater in North America. I can't wait to try more from this place.
