We had a horrible experience several months ago at the beer den with the manager ignoring us while we sat at the bar for 215 minutes. We happened to stop by to grab a couple things and saw Bryan was working the den. He took excellent care of us and let us try a couple of new crafts. He even played some music we suggested. I stopped by here around 4:15pm on Saturday afternoon after having lunch at Chilis. The primary purpose was to get a piece of cake. My friend told me they have great things. It was pretty busy as the parking lot was full. This was my time here and I was truly amazed. At the entrance, Jakyra was bringing in carts. She was friendly when I spoke to her. In this same area is a large monthly calendar with events for the month. That is pretty cool! They have so many options and sections, it's great! They have a coffee shop, a cheese stop, and a salad bar where you can get your own food. There was the "Chicken Kitchen" where you could get hot food. There was a smokehouse, deli, bakery, chocolate section, and a bread area. I was so impressed and wowed! There was even a spot for wine and cheese! I've been living in Greensboro 9 years and I can't believe I've yet to experience this. In the bakery, there was a sale on cake squares for buy one get one free. I only wanted one, so I got half off. I chose red velvet and it did not disappoint. I originally wanted a lemon cake, though. I didn't have a Lowe's card but the employee at self checkout scanned the store card so I could get the deal. In the fruit section, there is a stand where children under 12 can get a free fruit item. I truly love that as it promotes healthy eating, especially as a snack! I had no idea Lowe's Food had so much to offer as I typically shop at Walmart and Food Lion because they're closer to my house. I would definitely return. It's convenient as there is an auto bell near and other homegoods/clothing stores in the same strip. No complaints and I plan to return! read more

I can't really go less than 5 stars because generic pricing matches others, while their quality products are what you'd expect. They have a ton of options and varieties in each section. People here (including den master) are really nice and helpful. Store is also really clean, so no complaints. $5 wings, sushi, and I'm sure many more on Wednesday. One of the associates, maybe manager, was nice enough to store my groceries while I had a couple beers. PRO-TIP: Shop on Wednesday. Lots of $5 deals! read more

When the wagyu ground beef is regular price it's 8.69 ea when it's buy one get one it's 12.99 each. Do you really have to lie? The bakery bread has a huge list of chemicals. So far Food Lion is a much better deal and usually only 4-5 ingredients in their deli bread. read more

We absolutely love Lowe's foods. We live on the other side of town and a Harris Teeter is closer, but when in the New Garden area, we always stop at Lowe's Foods. We used to live on that side of town and miss this amazing grocery store. They renovated it before we moved, so visiting there now is so special! They have little areas that are thoughtfully decorated with specialty foods. From the bakery to the rotisserie chicken, cheese display, to an extensive produce selection and BBq, this store has it all. It's a fun shopping experience! They carry an extensive selection of local NC foods which is great! The staff is always very friendly. Today they had a holiday cookie section with a staff member creating custom cookie boxes. Lowe's Foods is revamping their brand to a locally sourced, high quality, upscale model. The store is like a blend Fresh Market and Harris Teeter. The shopping experience here is very nice. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. It is obvious that Lowe's Foods does an excellent job hiring and training. This is a very large store, yet it has a personal feel with touches like naming the checkout lanes after area streets rather than the usual numeric identifiers. Heck, they even have flower boxes on the cart returns in the parking lot. The shelves are higher than they used to be and the aisles seem a little tighter. I preferred the lower shelves and wider aisles. My one negative is that prices on the items I usually purchase are higher than HT. Significantly so. You definitely want to use the Lowe's loyalty card. It's hard to beat the experience and selection, but you're going to pay more for it. read more

Shop here quite often, also found it a nice place. But this review is especially about their deli, an even more specifically, about there fried chicken. It is excellent - I like it better than any of the bird chains. It is crispy, not overly so, and fried perfectly, with great fried chicken taste - and one reason is that it is had battered, and not over-battered. You can get 8 pieces for abuot $6, 12 pieces for $9+. And check out the Mac & Cheese, as well. The chicken is usually available by 11 AM, once in a while it will be a little later. read more

I once purchased a pecan pie in late December, and noticed the sell-by date was early October... SMH This has to be the most expensive grocery on the planet! Most of their items are only slightly above average on cost, but things like meat or bakery items are double to triple that of their competitors. Lowes Foods has a complete disregard for market value. It's like they just pull numbers out of the air and say, "yup, that's what we're charging, those random numbers". On a positive note, the place is spotless. I guess it's hard to get a store dirty when no one goes there. I've never seen another customer checking out... considering the pricing and quality, it's no wonder. I wish Lowes wasn't so close to my house, because I hate going in here. I decided after a nice visit with my daughter to visit one of my favorite Lowes Food James Town NCfor something eat. I was so shocked the food was not fresh! The mashed potatoes has changed to a tinged pinkish color it looked tried out. So I asked the lady is this mashed potatoes.... She said yes and admitted to it was sitting and dried out instead of offering fresh food. Moreover I asked do you have any fresh mashed potatoes. She said ...." I do not know I have to check. wow! Further I asked what is the vegetable for it was blackish instead of greenish color. She said Brussel sprout You should always give your customers the pickle "Give 'em the pickle Bob Farrell".The employees should always make sure food is fresh as possible- for good customer service and health reasons . Best grocery store in Greensboro. Very clean and the people who work here are so friendly and accommodating. They also have a wonderful coffee bar and delicious fresh muffins. With recent knee pain, I've used Lowes to-go personal shoppers 3 times and they do a fabulous job. I go online, check sales, pull up past orders ...order...drive up, push the button and they load it into my car. Most importantly, the shoppers pick perfect produce and exact deli requests. The shorter-than-usual shelves take some getting used to, but this supermarket otherwise has a lot going for it. It is clean and bright with wide aisles, prices are reasonable (more expensive than Food Lion, perhaps, but cheaper than many others), and employees are helpful. Thanks to a partnership with Speedway/Hess, you can also earn a gas discount by shopping here. Lastly, Lowes stocks products that may be difficult to find elsewhere. We did our shopping in this location last evening, 5/11, and we witnessed a lack of basic customer service. We approached the checkout lines to find the only open lanes to be the self-checkout. There was enough staff: a cashier, the self-check-out assistant, and manager (button-up green shirt and carrying a till).We walked up with a cart full of groceries that even a novice grocery store employee could have deduced would not be easily managed. But, instead of opening a lane, they watched us struggle. Finally, once we maxed out the weight on the bag holder turntable, I was forced to ask for help. The manager had enough vocabulary to ask my daughter to move out of her way but somehow lacked the initiative or courtesy to ask if we needed help initially. While all this was happening, a mother was near us at another self-checkout struggling to manage her two small children while ringing up and bagging groceries. These two disastrous scenarios occurring at once demonstrated how little the employees and management care about customers and their experience. I've said it before in conversation. It seems accurate enough to post publicly that the powers-that-be at Lowes should have emphasized becoming a better store before worrying about being an amusement park that happens to sell groceries. The adage is that you cannot put lipstick on a pig, which is evident under its current management at this location. Lowes Food/Alex Lee, I haven't made a complete grocery order from one of your stores in over a year because I grew to loathe what I experienced in your stores. It took one trip to realize you still haven't aligned your priorities with your consumer's needs. We do need literal bells and whistles. There is no need for lame attempts at humor balking from the card readers. Freshness isn't from a potted plant with scissors attached to a string. You added a bar, for what? What we need is the best options for the lowest price. If you all could take back the money you all have squandered on marketing and put it where it needed to be in the first place, we would have a grocery store that had the right priorities. I usually drive twenty minutes in the opposite direction to shop at the Bi-Rite in Stokesdale. I have to compromise on a few small items, but I spend less and get treated well. I don't normally shop at this place but I will say that they do carry some hard to find foods in the south. Well at least they carry Taylor ham. I had no clue what taylor ham was until I got married to a man from Jersey. Apparently, it is a staple up in the Northeast. Anyways enough of my rant on Taylor Ham. The prices seem reasonable and they triple coupons. The employees were all welcoming and they didn't even push me signing up for a savings card (I personally can't stand those things). Being from the west coast where there seems to be a Safeway or a local chain on every corner, I've been fumbling to find out where locals buy groceries on this side of the country. I'm delighted to find Lowe's! It exists in sharp contrast with the Red Lion I visited last night which appeared tired and run-down. Parking is ample and the staff seem quite friendly. From the clean, bright displays, aisles and brilliant produce section, this store would be a top contender for my every day shopping. I only stopped by to pick up some wine, water and something from the deli for a snack. I was disappointed the hot section was already closed before 7pm but I snagged a carton of fried chicken to sample later anyway. I've been shopping at the Lowes King store for years now. The deli is in serious need of help. For about the last dozen times that I have went to the deli section, I've had to wait and people are scrambling around. I noticed a plaque stating it was the best deli in 2018, but I sure don't know how it gets it's rating! The employee / management really needs to pick up their game if they want to stay competitive with Walmart! They are going to have to exceed customer expectations asking everyone if they need help and having a smile on their face would be a great place to start! I have to agree with a lot of the other reviewers, I'm also from out of state and this grocery store is the most similar to the stores I'm used to seeing up north. The staff was very friendly also, which was a definite plus. My favorite stores are health food stores. but when I just want a normal grocery store I prefer this store over Food Lion or Harris Teeter. read more
