You won't find any corporate macro brews here... only those that make the cut of Mike and his crew. If you're a lover of craft beer; you will love this bottle shop. If you are not a lover of craft beer... well, there's wine, Sake, ciders, and maybe even a root beer. Water? Okay... but, weird. Okay, there's some solid snacks as well, and THEY'RE CHEAP! One buck gets you a cup-o-snack and you're golden for a little while. You can even order out from Junction On 70 just a few doors down the sidewalk and pick up your order to eat at the bottle shop. You can chill at the bar, at a table, on the couch, out on the back patio, on your head (if you're that talented) and they are dog friendly as long as you have a friendly dog. Highly recommended.

The vibe is pure microbrewery and I'm so here for it! They are a hybrid brewery/taproom so they have 5-6 of their own beers and a variety of other local/NC breweries, which is great to keep options open while also showcasing in-house brewing! Jeff, the owner & brewer, was behind the bar when I came in and he is the epitome of the foundation of the craft brew scene. All of the in-house beers were fantastic! The quality and beer artistry that went into the beers was evident with each sip! Also, u gotta luv a place that commits to a theme! This one is board sports and from the name to the decor to the beer names, it is ubiquitous and I'm so here for it! The taproom is small yet weirdly spacious...w/bar, table, upstairs, and even patio seating! So come for the beers and stay for the flight boards (as each one is unique)! Beers had: -Vert Ramp Vanilla Cream Ale 5.3% The flavor notes on both the nose & body/finish on this one -Mile Marker 55 Mango Wit 5% Luved that the hint of very distinct mango was on the finish and the wheat/wit was on the front/middle palate! -Morning Sesh Coffee Stout 7% The coffee was prevalent but not overpowering...I could have this beer w/bfast! Made w/Dark Roast Sumatra -Get Barreled BBA Stout 10.1% This is perfection for the abv; no cloying sweetness, u get the toffee/vanilla behind the finish from the barrel-aging but the tannins & malt from the stout -in-barrel come through gorgeously giving u an unsweet BBA stout that holds up to the 10.1% -Shape Shack Passion Fruit Pear Sour 3.4% I usually don't do sours but this one drinks like a prickly pear (fruit) margarita, and I'm not mad about it!

On this visit, there were two vendors offering free samples. Uhm, yes, please. One was a local distillery (https://giadistillery.com), and the other was Cîroc. GIA makes a grappa so good that it was voted the best luxury grappa in the world in 2021! Having lived in Munich before and spending lots of 3 day weekends in Italy via a short drive, I love grappa. Not knowing about this award,when I tried their grappa, it was heavenly. I picked up a bottle of the grappa along with a bottle of their whiskey. They also had bottles of their vodka, but that's not my drink; I leave that and gin to my wife. I'll visit the GIA distillery and do a full review soon. Back to this ABC store, there are plenty of helpful employees. The store is also very bright and inviting, which I appreciate. I don't like dimly lit stores. They are depressing. Some of the other items I picked up were a bottle of Travelers whiskey, a collaboration between the Buffalo Trace distillery, and Chris Stapleton, and a bottle of John A. P. Connelly whiskey. This is another North Carolina product. It's difficult to find their products in stock. I like the rye and have never had their whiskey. But they had two bottles of whiskey, so I grabbed one to try. They also had a bottle of Bookers on the shelf, which is also difficult to find. In fact, I've only ever found it here. 5 stars all day long.

I came here one day because they had Buffalo Trace, which is very hard to find, and I wanted to get some for my dad. While I was here, I discovered a vodka seltzer variety pack made from Dogfish Head. I love this brewery so I just had to try it! This is the only ABC store I've visited that had this seltzer as well as so many coolers. I appreciate being able to get a pack that's already cold after a long day at work.

They also had a High Point police officer at the door ensuring no issues, I'm not clear if that's a daily thing, or just during busier times of the year. They carry a good selection of alcohol, in many cases, even offering several brands for more common items like vodka, whiskey, and bourbon. They don't sell any beer at the ABC store, and I don't frequent them though to be able to say if any do. But they cart the hard stuff, some mixers and a very small selection of snacks.

The group that I travel with is about 25 people total. Last week my friend and I went to buy a few things and the employee was very pushy for us to buy drink mixers, which we absolutely hate. We politely declined to buy them, paid for our stuff and left. Tonight we go again and he AGAIN tried to push us to buy nasty drink mixers, we politely declined AGAIN (same guy) and when it was time to pay for our 4 bottles of different liquors (don't judge) he said he couldn't sell to us because we had a TEXAS ID....REALLY?? REALLY??? WTF is that about? So if our ID is issued in Texas, somehow we can't buy liquor? That's weird, because he did last week, and every bar in town has had no problem with our Texas IDs. Funny rule for a liquor store in a town where 35,000 [eople come from all over the world for the furniture market. Also, my biggest problem was the mean and almost insulting way he said it. He was just a huge jerk. I would understand if that actually was the law and he explained it nicely, but it's like he got satisfaction telling us no. I seriously don't know what his problem is, but we are both pretty angry and we will just drive a few extra miles to avoid that total douche bag.
