I went shopping for an item that I had no idea where to find it. There were three male workers talking and laughing. I went up and was waiting to be asked to be helped. Another male customer came up behind me and they stopped to help him and even take him to the area. I still was waiting while the other two workers continued to converse. Finally they stopped and I made my inquiry and one said go down a certain aisle and you'll find it. Is the poor customer service because I am female??? Fantastic customer service! I was fortunate enough to find Bill in the paint department, who was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the best paint for my needs. When I mentioned I was headed to another department he volunteered to accompany me and help me find what I was looking for there. He was clearly very knowledgeable in many DIY areas, and was extremely pleasant and helpful. He even helped me load everything into my car! I spoke with his boss Mattias to tell him what a tremendous help Bill had been, and was very impressed with how professional and gracious Mattias was. I had such an awful experience working with this company at their distribution center. I was told wearing leggings I had to wear a long shirt to cover my butt. I seen several other women wearing the exact same thing except they were not wearing a long shirt covering their behind. I am slightly curvy with an hour glass shaped body. Apparently this company is sexist and ever since then, I've left and haven't looked back. I don't know what makes these people think customer service isn't extended to their employees, but I won't shop at Lowe's because of that alone. Poor service. read more

Had a terrible time using my Lowe's cash reward and gift cards there yesterday. It was a transaction that should've taken 5-10 minutes but we were there for over 20 minutes with customer service trying to help out. It was clear all the ways in which the corporate overlord/s at Lowe's corporate demonstrate their clear disdain and distrust for the customer. For example, you had to work to get the Lowe's cash bar code to get a successful scan...Then they had two 4-digit numbers listed (one right above/below each other) by the bar code. One was the 4 digit pin that you are supposed to enter but the first one is the 4-digit customer number. It couldn't be more difficult if it was designed to be more difficult so it comes across as being the result of a severely disconnected corporate culture that doesn't consider the customer's experience at all. In addition, the two gift cards I had were from previous returns. Lowe's connects the return gift card to a driver's license number so I had to text my husband and ask him for his drivers license number so I could use one of the return cards. This, plus the run around I experienced with trying to get a price match had led me to the logical conclusion that I won't be shopping at Lowe's anymore (unless I hear the corporate culture changes). Bring back customer service and get customers to come. read more

Unfortunately, the worst customer service I have encountered. Was buying soil and a few plants. Had to ask 4 people in garden area to help me obtain the soil. It was on a wrapped pallet, after hearing the response it's not my job 4times, I cut the wrap myself and threw the 36pd bag on my cart. when attempting to check out it was a 15 min wait for the guy to get off his lunch and then it was if I was an inconvenience. read more

In addition they left the electric cord to the range off the truck and told us the only way to get what they forgot to deliver was to come back to the store. Amazing. Very frustrated with Lowes return policy. I received a gift for my birthday. The first time I used the electric scrubber it broke. I tried replacing it but was informed that without a receipt I would not be able to. They also do not offer gift receipts. I ordered a door, a window and accessories via the Lowes website. According to the website, delivery was free over $45 - well, folks, the invoice shows a deliver fee of $94 - for a $211.00 door! Almost half again as much, and that when we expected "free delivery." then, it turns out, that I have to pick up the window and some of the accessories from the nearest store - even though they are delivering the door - for some reason putting the other items in that order is not possible. So, we have now added a couple of hours driving to Lowes and picking these things up and hoping the window will fit in my car, since we don't have a truck. Although, had I known about the outrageous delivery charge in advance, I could have paid someone to drive over in his truck and pick up everything. Oh, and then without a phone call or text or anything, we got a phone call that a delivery service had stopped by to leave the door - but we weren't home, as we didn't know a delivery was going to happen - and couldn't reschedule it. But, wait, there's more. Part of the order is going to be "shipped." The door knob and lock and one other thing. Why is this separate? And when does it arrive? We can't install the door without the hardware? Or can we? And what does shipped mean, as opposed to "delivery?" So, one order has 3 different means of getting the products to us, and an unacceptable charge has been made as well. And a couple hours of driving time, possibly having to pay someone to use a truck to make the pickup. I then spent 25 minutes on hold this morning, trying to reach someone to get this fixed - and finally hung up without talking to anyone, as this is beginning to be a huge time sink - and we still don't have any of our products. I will try again later - when I have an hour or so to hang around waiting. We specifically chose Lowes, as we boycott Home Depot because they support Trump financially. So, we don't use Home Depot, we are no longer going to consider Lowes - and now I'm going to be on the phone finding alternatives locally, which obviously I should have done in the first place. Incidentally, this issue with Lowes is our second encounter and also was unsatisfactory and we ended up cancelling that order - but we decided that we'd give them a second chance. Our first encounter with Lowes was flooring for our 1900 sq ft house. We picked out the flooring, arranged payment for the flooring and installation (over $10,000) - then found out that there were all kinds of problems, and it would cost untold amounts more money to get the job done. And we were expected to move 1900 sq ft of flooring into the house from where it was being delivered - the garage - by ourselves - Lowes would not do it. We are in our 70s! We cancelled that order, and found someone else who did the job for the $10,000, including the cost of the flooring and other things - and moving the flooring into the house. Also including reusing the original molding - which Lowes refused to do. I do not recommend Lowes for any products that require delivery - I guess it might be okay for any products that you can walk in, pick up, and walk out with. And even then, be careful what you get and what you can do about it if it is a problem. I want to support Lowes, as their hiring policies are open to handicapped workers, they contribute to the local communities, and appear to be friendly - but obviously this is an illusion if you actually are buying things from them - friendly isn't what you get. The cashier was nice and polite when I finally got to her, but at first it was self-checkout only, and then only if you used a card. I just had the most exceptional customer service at Lowe's in Albany, Oregon. We had a very large order waiting for pickup and there was a problem with our banking institute so the order could not be released. This started 2 days ago and Sara, who I assume is a supervisor, stepped forward and helped in ways I never seen happen in any store before. She not only told me what had to be done, got on my phone and talked to the person I was dealing with, even offered me some ice water while waiting as it was in the 100's. I was told the order would be ready for pick up the next day so when I arrived I figured everything was set. Ashleigh, at the pro desk, was very helpful but needed some confirmation on things and low and behold guess who showed up to get the transaction done -Sara. She handled everything in a timely manner and showed so much compassion. I highly recommend a big raise and promotion for this gal. She was fabulous. The second time I have been to Lowe's in Albany and somehow it's even worse than before. I went in looking for a tow behind spreader and after not finding it I contacted a employee and asked if he was busy and his answer was "yes, I am". I then went to the return/customer counter and asked a employee (was on computer) where I could find the item I was looking for. The employee with a hand gesture said it's over in that area and went back to the computer. The customer service needless to say is non existent and will continue to shop at Home Depot. read more

He had the patience, knowledge and terrific attitude we all hope we can find. Vernon answered and directed each of us with our problems. He made sure we found what we needed. I really like that this store is clean and the employees know what they are talking about. I like the lumber here. For some reason Lowe's discontinued the kids workshops. It's really too bad. He went to get someone from lumber to assist us and never returned. We were also asked by 3 other employees if we needed help and they reassured us the person with the forklift was loading up an order and would be with us when he was done. 20 minutes later, we watched the driver of the forklift walk off and no one came back to assist us. I got hired as a cashier, second mistake I made..I had two days of computer training (nothing to do with cashiering) on the third day they put me a cashier had no idea what I was doing I told head the cashier I was nervous and wanted to shadow someone before I used one all I got I was "gonna have to learn anyway might as well learn today" she walked off.. I had several cashiers try to help me, it was way to many buttons to remember..this all took place on 2/11-13/2020.. it's now 2/27/2020 I still have not gotten a check, I reached out to the HR manager with no response.. I can't report them to BOLI because I can't show "proof" I worked the hours I did... I will NEVER EVER shop there again... don't waste your time on applying there!! read more

I purchased a dishwasher during their Black Friday Sale and asked for delivery. They said that they would call me and set up a time to have it delivered. Finally got a call on December 6th saying they could deliver it on Friday the 13th that afternoon and to call and confirm. Called back, confirmed and they said they would be there between 10 and 2. Four O' Clock rolls around and no one has showed up. After leaving NUMEROUS messages after 2 no returned call. Monday at 10 a.m they FINALLY return the call. They now have said that they will be here Wednesday. What a waste of time. Doubt they'll show up this day either. Buyer beware. Terrible customer service. We ordered a Frig online from Pennsylvania for delivery to Lebanon, Oregon. Worked like a charm. Communication regarding delivery was excellent and delivery itself was exactly as promised. Ordered / bought, in person, carpeting for installation in Lebanon, Oregon. The measuring and ordering was, at best, a 2-star experience. Trying to pay using the discount offered was an absolute nightmare since, it appeared, that Corporate had the computers a mess. No one really tracked the carpet arrival & installation and if we had not phoned I'm afraid the carpet would still be in the warehouse looking for a home. Look, I once worked PT for Lowe's and understand how confused they can be at times, so I understood, but my wife wasn't as understanding. I finally phoned Lowe's again and, by chance, spoke with the Lowe's resident Superman, Izzy. I don't know who this guy is, but he is the best help anyone could ask for. IZZY IS JUST AMAZING. He single-handedly saved Lowe's reputation. I am hereby nominating Izzy for President of Lowe's !!! read more

I'm a long time customer at Lowe's, Spokane and use them for most of my appliances and building supplies. The service at this particular Albany store was below abysmal. I found one employee who knew anything and he was actually a great help--Joseph in appliances--thus two stars instead of one. Trouble started with the delivery. Refrigerator bashed up, had to be returned. Gas dryer sent out instead of electric. Had to be returned. Stacking kit forgotten, but hey, that didn't matter because no dryer to stack. Day later, got notice that door I ordered had arrived. Went down with van to pick it up and asked to pick up dryer that I'd ordered and did not arrive with last load. (Free delivery only means something if it actually gets delivered.) It turned out that the door was not actually in and no one could find the dryer which I had bought on sale and waited two months for. The outcome would not deserve two stars. Mistakes happen. The two stars is because this took over three hours. Turns out that orders done online have to be handled in a special closet of a room in front with employees suffering a purgatory of notices from Lowe's shipping telling customers their items have arrived for pickup. Followed by notices that, oops, they have actually not arrived, leaving the employees scrambling to find things that do not exist. In the short period between delivery truck forgetting to pick up electric dryer instead of gas, the matching dryer had vaporized. No where to be found. Ordered two months before. Did not exist. Turns out there are different computer systems that not every employee can access. It's a night mare. Feels like every employee has worked there less than a week. There are lots of them, but nobody knows anything. What does this mean? Big business treating employees badly so they do not want to stay. Shame on you Lowe's for having a beautiful modern store with what looks like very little human investment. I needed a sink to complete my project. Went to Amazon. . . read more

Failed to deliver appliance on the date promised. Waited 5 hours for it to show up but it never came. We had called twice during the day to confirm delivery. Both times store employees confirmed delivery and told us they were running late. Finally called to cancel our order and get a refund. I was told it wasn't going to be delivered for 10 more days. That would make it 3 weeks from the date of purchase and not the date given to us as our delivery date. It's so great to have a Lowe's in Albany! The product selection and quality are perfect for the home builder and the do-it-yourselfer --and you can't beat the prices. I completely remodeled my home, right down to the studs, and I found that Lowe's saved me time and offered the quality of products that I needed. Often I would take a higher quantity of something to be sure I had enough, then bring back the unused items to the store. With my Lowe's card, they could look up the return in an instant without my remembering the receipt. Materials are easy to find and the store inventory is well organized. Knowledgeable people could help me in every department. It is not the mess I found at the other big Home products center. I often shopped on the Internet and then went in to pick up my order. Today I went in to get a part for an elderly friends walker that was broken. Finding the hardware department, a Joy offered to help me. I showed her the missing screw on the walker and she quickly realized it took a metric screw, walked to the right shelf and pulled out a screw that was the right one. Then I asked to install it and soon Shane joined us to install the missing screw! I was lucky because I went in on a Saturday just before 6 PM and the three of us fixed my handicapped friends walker in the isle. The store was quiet and Joy and Shane we not busy. Soon Share adjusted the brakes on the walker too! The attitude was that once they understood I was doing a favor for a handicapped senior, we fixed the walker together. We had two very nice people help us with getting our washer and dryer and helping us to load it up. And if I could leave a review based on them solely it would be a 5. But when I got up front to check out there were zero open registers which I'm assuming is due to being short staffed, no big deal I don't mind going to uscan. So I scan all my stuff while this lady stands right behind me watching my every move and so I go to pay only to look all around for a place for cash and the lady says 'it's card only.' Well it would be nice if they had any sort of sign that said that so I could've avoided scanning all my stuff only to be told I would have to go somewhere else. So when I asked 'how do I pay cash then' she took her finger and pointed over to customer service. That was it. No oh they can help you over there, I can help you move your stuff, I can help you cancel your order. Nothing. All the while I had a very upset toddler by my side. So I left my stuff and walked out. I ordered a refrigerator in store a month before my move. My move in date changed and many installations I scheduled got pushed out a few weeks. I talked to a Lowe's manager and she was able to have my delivery moved to the very end of day so I didn't need to reschedule and wait two more weeks. The instillation went smoothly. They (Dan and his supervisor) took a door off to avoid scratching the house &refrigerator, and showed me some of the different ways to do basic maintenance while they set it up. read more

My husband and I ordered fence paneling, On April 22, we were guaranteed delivery on May 9th. Well come May 6th, I called to confirm delivery, because the money was back in our account. The MANAGER told me no problem we are still scheduled for delivery on May 9th. Well, instead of visiting my Mother on Mother's Day, we waited for the fence paneling that never came. I called Monday morning (May 10th) we were told, and I quote "The truck broke down, what you need to do is cancel the order and order from another store." I said no, we will wait for these panels. I called back May 14th and was told were were scheduled for deliver on May 16th and they took the money from my account, I called again to find out what day it will be delivered, only to be told someone would call us back. Finally right before 5 pm we had a call to tell us THEY canceled our order because they NO longer had the panels. Had I not call to check on delivery NO-ONE would have told us that THEY took it upon themselves to cancel the order and return our money. We then placed an order with Home Depot, we delivered the panels with in ONE week! It is a shame that Lowe's treated a Disabled Veteran in this manner! I wish I had never started this remodel with Lowes... everything was great when I went in, I thought it was weird they wouldn't send anyone out to do measurements for a kitchen remodel without the project being paid in full, but was so exited I rolled with it. BIG mistake. The install was scheduled for Feb 7... it is now Feb 25 and IT IS STILL NOT DONE!! There seems to be a huge communication gap between Lowes and their installers. For the past two weeks I have been promised it would be taken care of, they would make up for it... my brand new kitchen sink is now scratched up from the number of times it has been pulled in and out, is currently sitting on top of the new countertops and all the plumbing is completely disconnected. I can't use my kitchen. I'm tired of reps telling me they would help me and get it resolved only to get the runaround over and over. There have been three sets of contractors in and out of my house today and NOTHING has been resolved. All they seem to do is point fingers and promise it will get taken care of. Beyond unprofessional and totally unacceptable, it makes me so sad to even go into my kitchen, not that I can use anything but the fridge right now.
