This is the worst example of a home improvement store. I can't speak to all Home Depot cause I actually like the Corvallis store and used to use it almost daily as it's 4 minutes from my job. Recently, I was doing some siding and minor remodeling. I purchased some plywood, siding, gutter down spouts, and windows online because I don't have access to a truck. The gutters were strapped in the dumbest way possible and were dented severely from that strap job. Called to have them exchanged as I had windows being delivered later in the week. Spoke to the help desk, and they were not at all helpful. Then I spoke to a manager, and he said they were out of stock(lie). Went back and forth via email to get a jobsite pick up, and the emails were 1.5 days apart. When I did get an email, I was told that I was refunded so they couldn't do a jobsite pick up. This wasn't what I wanted or was it communicated to me that this was happening. They did this so they could get out of fixing their mistake. Called the next day, and they hadn't refunded me like they said they had, and I asked if they had any 10ft downspouts in stock and they had 16. He checked, and they weren't damaged like the manager stated just a day before. Listen, HD is great for somethings, but the Albany store is full of liars, and they obviously don't take pride in their store. I will be filing a formal complaint with corporate in hopes that whoever is in charge is either fired or reprimanded. Judging from the reviews, this isn't a new issue. Bad experience this evening! We went in looking for help in replacing one of our pop-up sprinkler unit which was run over by our yard maintenance person. We asked for help from two different Home Depot employees who are quick to admit they didn't know much about the sprinkler units. Each of them said that they would find someone to help us. It was even called overhead for someone to join us in row 39 to help. Help never came. We tired of waiting, and proceeded on to Lowe's which provided us with the necessary information to make a purchase. Good for Lowe's, bad for Home Depot. I went to pick up an online order for a cordless circular saw today but didn't receive the free batteries. Sabrina worked diligently to find a solution. Unfortunately the online people messed up and didn't have a way to make it right. Sabrina stayed on it and worked with a busy store manager who was able to give me two batteries off the shelf. Thankfully I was able to get home and complete my project with our further delay. Adam the store Manager and Sabrina the Customer Service Associate are top notch and motivate me to share this story and keep all my business at The Home Depot. This is the newer Albany Home Depot. They have an employee named Karl or Carl or Coral from The Walking Dead. This last weekend, he was rocking quite possibly the sweetest mullet I've ever seen. He said "hi" to me nicely and I almost fell in love. Store was well staffed, cashier was courteous, and they seemed to have a full stock of the items we were looking for. Unfortunately I'll never give any Home Depot 5 stars because I worked for their Distribution Center in Salem for a short time (where dreams go to die) and all I can say is that when you know, you know. Picture included: If I could give NO stars, this would be the rating. Purchased ALL new appliances and was delivered a dented washer and a very badly dented refrigerator. I paid for installation. I had sold my old refrigerator and purchased new coolers for temporary storage while waiting for new refrigerator. There was no way I would except a discount with this damage and insisted on another refrigerator. The delivery people said they would have to order a new one and there wasn't any in stock. They weren't even going to leave the damaged refrigerator so we had SOMETHING to keep our food in. After calls and complaining, they FINALLY left this damaged refrigerator as a loaner. Also, paid for installation and they said, "We will not install twice," and that we had a "choice of having the damaged loaner to be installed or the next one." As if we expected two deliveries. My husband had to install this loaner with a bad back which was why I paid for the installation in the first place. After calling the manager of Home Depot, they said because we excepted the damaged refrigerator this was considered ours. After more complaining, the appliance manager had to fight with GE to get us what we ordered. (Emily was actually helpful and a night staff Dave was helpful. Whoever Jill was, she should be stocking and out of customer distance.) Now have to wait 3 weeks for a new delivery and take another day off. I will NEVER buy from Home Depot ever again. I give it 5 stars because I have also known for years that Home Depot outsources their deliveries and installation so I avoid that by not buying anything that requires it. So with that said, I have positive feedback on the amount of products they have, and the employees who help me with what I am looking for. If online says the store has 7 left, I call ahead and ask an employee to physically go and look to see if it is true, as in tonight I did that. On line said they had 7 dog doors on the shelf. I called and Dawn Leach said her system showed 5 left. She actually went to the area, grabbed me a doggie door and held it for me with my name on it until I can come and get it. I did that at Lowe's too one time and was told they are not allowed to do that. I still like both. read more

Not one of them even acknowledged my presence, instead they actually stood there ground so I couldn't look at the product in the aisle. Poor, poor service. Anyway been about a year and i finally gave up told them it was good enough so they just wouldn't come back. Really really bad. I called to see if a product I ordered was there and could I pick it up. I was told it was in and come pick it up. I get there and had to wait over 20 minutes while a few cashiers were chatting behind the counter. I was finally called up and was told my product wasnt there. I said I called and was told it was there. I was informed that the computer, yes the computer, says its not there so I wasted my trip to Home Depot. Whats up with these people? Dont they know they lose customers, they lose the store, they lose their job. They do not seem to care. If I complain, I lose my product. So I kept my mouth shut and left. read more

Looked on-line to make sure Home Depot had the bricks I needed. On-line said they had over 200 in stock. So I took the 15 min drive to pick up 20 of the bricks i needed. When I got there the bay they keep them in (14) was empty. I asked an associate if they had more somewhere else as I had checked on-line and it said they did. He looked it up and he said they had over 500 in stock and that he would get me some. 25 minutes later he came back and said that they had none and someone came and bought all they had! What a waste of time and an obviously flawed on-line system. This is NOT the only problem I've had with this store! Lowe's in Albany a much better option in almost every way! read more

DON'T BUY FLOORING FROM THEM!!! my wife and I get new carpet from Home Depot. They use Romanoff out of Salem to do the install. Romanoff lied about moving furniture they actually didn't in an effort to get more money out of us. They also did a terrible job installing the carpet as many seams are visible and you can feel issues with the pad underneath the carpet. The issues became more prevalent after about a year after being installed. Home Depot refused to do anything because it had been over a year. I had a private contractor come fix the seam problem areas. The carpet had degraded so bad in those areas that it began falling apart in his hands when he tried to fix it. I contacted Home Depot again because the carpet has a 15 year wear warranty. They refused to do anything about the issue because they said it didn't look that bad, even though nobody came to inspect the issue. They also demanded a receipt from the carpet being professionally cleaned, which I no longer had a copy of and the company purges customer info after 30 days. So now they refuse to honor their own warranty and I have 1 year old carpet that need replacing. read more

Rather, they insist you drive to Salem & pay for a DOD card. It's insulting. They claim that they honor veterans by giving them a discount. However they only honor some veterans. I guess you have to still be receiving government benefits for you to get the discount. The clerk told me that having veteran listed on my drivers license didn't count. I don't understand why not. I proved to the state I am a veteran. I guess I could bring in my honorable DD214 discharge papers, but that wouldn't count either. It felt like a slap in the face. Shame on them. They should offer it to all veterans or none. Bought a Samsung refrigerator and it has been nothing but trouble since we bought it.We purchased the extended warranty snd the repair people have been out 5 times so far .It has never made ice and they have replaced it 3 times snd we are right back to to no ice.Then it started leaking water onto my oak floor that I just paid 8000.00 to have refinished and new installed in other rooms.So repair guy said I had to empty everything out of fridge...and remove all the shelves.Geez then he proceeded to tug and pull on back panel to install new drain in a new fridge!!!While he had the back torn off he put two large scratches in the new floor.Is it too much to ask ti have this lemon removed from my home before it ruins my wood floor????I am beyond frustrated and will never deal with Home Depot again! read more

I went in to purchase some Kilz primer & got a good deal on 2 gallon container. While I was there I checked the section of Oops paint & got an awesome deal - $15.00 on a 5 gallon container of Behr Premium Semi-gloss paint. Luckilly, the color worked for me!! The gentleman that was working the paint dept was wonderful - sense of humor, very friendly & knowledgeable! "My Blinds" by Hunter Douglas for Home Depot are JUNK I purchased a set of mini blinds, assuming that "My Blinds" were actually by Hunter Douglas. NOPE, these are junk made just for Home Depot. They don't go up or down easily, and the replacement set are just as bad. It took months to get the replacement blinds...though the representative was very nice. The My Blinds lack a cord separator, so tangled cords jam the mechanism and they will not go up or down without hand untangling the cords. Why not integrate a 50 cent part to prevent it... The headrail is too flexible, and bends causing more problems. Buy decent blinds somewhere...but not at HD read more

On April 27, 2016 I purchased cedar lattice topped panels for my fence from the Albany Oregon Store. It was to be delivered on Thursday. Thursday came and Home Depot delivered only the posts and concrete, but no fence panels because there were none available. So after several phone calls and a visit to the store I was told it was a computer problem. So I added to the order and waited to here when my items would be delivered. After another phone call to the store where they told me the did not have the panels and it would be another week before the panels would be available. I mentioned the fact the same panels were now on sale so why couldn't I have my panels. They tried offering me another style of panel which would not work with the existing fence, which I told them no. Someone called from the Albany store and said they had obtained the panels from one of the Salem Stores and my whole order would be delivered on Saturday May 7, 2016 between 12 and the 3. My Son's came and got all the post set so when the order was delivered they could finish the fence, So around 2 pm I called the delivery desk at the Albany store where I was told there had been a problem with paper work and the order could not be delivered until Monday. No one from the store called me to let me know there was a problem with the delivery. This has been a very frustrating experience and I feel like the Albany store could really care less from the fact there computer system regarding inventory was not working right to the fact they could not call and let me know about the delivery today. So think before you decided to buy anything that requires any effort on the stores part and do not expect common respect from the staff read more

I'm not afraid of dogs. I actually like dogs. I grew up with dogs. But I don't like dogs in stores, service dogs notwithstanding. This evening we needed to purchase a part for a broken toilet. We finally found a clerk that could tell us which isle to go to. Enroute we encountered two dogs. As we approached the check-out stand, there was a lady with a large, excited pit-bull. She was yelling, "Sit! Sit! Sit!" The dog wasn't sitting. He was throwing a little fit. I mentioned the dogs to the clerk. She stated that dogs are allowed now in their store. Not just service dogs, ALL dogs. They're pets, don't you see. I won't be going to The Home Depot much anymore. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Ordered cabinets for a kitchen remodel. The actual cabinets looked good but the designer made a few flaws (not giving any space for appliances and ordered the cheapest crap trim). First Home Depot said it was a manufacturer error that they aren't responsible for. Then Home Depot actually had the audacity to say that it's our fault the trim doesn't fit. Really!? They refused to accept responsibility for the errors. Only agreed to order what was needed to fix the error if I signed a release of liability and claimed responsibility myself. Weve been shopping there for some time. spent probably 30k or more. Complete bathrooms remodel, entire repaint inside and out, windows, appliances, trees, flowers, soil. I wouldn't say its the best place but good deals and sometimes people who are knowledgeable and some things especially flowers aren't the best but overall no problems. Until today. Wife didn't have her home depot credit co used her social and ID. Asked which account we wanted it on. Come to find out there are 2 other accounts under a Spanish name with the same social. Had them call it They said he would need our ID to us it, Not true. If social under his name also he would be asked same question and could put it on our account. Rather than close his account we were told it might be a miss click. Right. Still has his name on our account under wife's social. After giving social to 4 different people and showing ID 4 times she was told SHE needed to fax this and that and told what SHE would have to do to prove its her account. When she said he should prove his as its obviously our account and social. Martin, on the other end of the line, was rude. Asking her how it was that she was being mistreated. Idiot. .Either the guy got a wrong number punched in on his social by Home Depot OR he is an illegal with a false social attached to his name. My wife's social. Which she proved. Rather than customer service Martin copped an attitude to the point my wife set down the phone and walked out. We will be cancelling our card and do our shopping a Lowes and Jerrys from now on. And my contractor brother whos spent THOUSANDS of dollars at Home Depot will be doing the same. Nice job Martin. Let the guy whos using a false social security number keep on goin.
