My husband and I love going to Lowe's over Home Depot for a bunch of reasons. The most important is that the staff is SO nice and friendly and helpful. There's a ton of people working here who got out of their way to offer assistance which I think is awesome. We haven't always had that at other places. The paint service was amazing and we got a great color match to redo our walls, as well as some great tips on paint to use inside. Also found some great flooring options that match what we have currently pretty closely. Definitely worth going here for home improvement needs. read more

Came in to purchase laminate flooring. Nobody at the desk, so asked neatest employee if somebody could help. He said there should be somebody at the desk..I said nobody and he said oh I don't know then. Pushed help button in wiring because the flooring one didn't work. No one came. A nice woman said let me call somebody for you, and did on the walkie. No one showed up. Leaving frustrated, Diego at the self check out asked if we found what we needed. I said no but we've been here too long so never mind. He walked over to 2 employees and asked them to help us. He was VERY helpful! Thank you Diego! A recent visit to Lowe's Garden Center allowed me to experience various types of plants which seem to be exclusive to Lowe's. These include the various assortments of succulents and perennials which I haven't seen before in other nurseries, especially this time of year. Though various finds are available, their prices are relatively high compared to other big box stores. Though I had a few questions about some of the offerings, it seemed that there weren't any employees walking the floors to assist me which is unfortunate. read more

There's not many employees working at this Lowe's. It could be hard to find employees to open locked goods like electrical or tools. Their selection of material and equipment is standard. Not much lacking. The value deals come around every quarter and they display sale items in the front of the store. It's a usually a clean store and fairly quiet. No accountability or pride in their store. This is by far the worst Lowe's that you will ever shop at in terms of customer service. They have everything you want but you'll be ignored even after they attempt to page someone. I've been in appliances for over 30 minutes and nobody has attempted to help me. It's awful. Many areas are a dump. Items not put away. Displays are in poor condition. Hazmat on the floor in paint isle 3. The store manager was giggling with an associate about how many grills they sold over the weekend while a lady waited in paint for 10 minutes for an associate to come there. Carts are astray on aisle 18 and not stored neatly. Various departments are being called multiple times. Fall and trip hazards all around the store. A magnet for safety lawsuits. I ordered shades from this location in early September. The specific ones I ordered for the bedrooms came incorrectly cut. They re- ordered and came again to install (requiring a 2nd day off work) and they were once again incorrectly made and defective. This was a week ago and no one from Lowe's has called me to remedy the situation. I keep having to call them and explain what's going on to different people. Lowe's has not fulfilled their end of the contract by providing me with the shades I paid for, and I'm incredibly frustrated with the process and lack of communication. *Racial discrimination from Lowes 2508. This is who they have at their front door representing their establishment, Gloria. On Saturday, my family & i went into Lowe's on lone tree in Antioch. I first would like to mention i am one who reuses bags. Just like MAJORITY of us. Excuse where i am about to go & i feel uncomfortable touching this topic & a bit embarrassed but i guess it's the life we are in now..... Lam a home owner in California. A young one at that. Im only 29 & yes i am African American with piercings all in my face as well. But i have a good mind, Thanks to my parents! I was doing a project for my neighbor and i and made a series of purchases for mailbox items (which they have because i use a phone number there from other projects in the past). I purchased two mailbox brackets but needed to return them for two different styled ones for the post that i have already paid someone to concrete in the ground. I walked in with the two mailbox brackets & the receipt into the store with my two kids & girlfriend. These were in a Gardena bag !I made a pause about to do the return, but thought, & I don't know why id thought it would be easier to just do an exchange. I proceeded to walk to the mailbox, brackets and touched nothing on the shelves except for the two items that I needed to make an exchange for. (its all on camera & plus i have my two kids!) A few steps out i pause and say "do you think us being who we are, should we stop and actually return this first. I don't know about us walking around this store with this bag?" My girl responds "we have a receipt. We paid for it." So we proceed. Coming back to the register with the two mailbox brackets in the bag, receipt and the other two that we were going to exchange in hand, we were greeted by gloria. On the receipt, it showed i purchased two mailboxes & what i thought two brackets. But it was two concrete bags (which was their mistake as well). Brings me around the register to show me then states "you can always file a ticket and wait for security to look into it". In my mind, I thought she was returning the first one and then stated that because of the receipt mistake to get my money back. So it wasnt a problem in my mind. INSTEAD she snatches both of the brackets i brought into the store, and puts them in the back and says i can leave. Me and my girl started realizing what was going on, so i IMMEDIATELY removed my kids from the scene. By the time I returned to the store (seconds later ) the manager is out stating she will fix the receipt and the other cashier states that she indeed did just racial profiled us for NO REASON. By this point i honestly did not care about returning the items. Im more upset at the embarrassment and how i was treated unequal. Because anytime else, i was able to leave with my items and never had anything snatched from me in front of my kids as well! I felt AWEFUL. I filed a complaint with the store & the store did apologize for her behalf. Filed with corporate, as well as have a meeting coming up regarding further legal action. But they shouldn't have this image at the front door, let alone out there treating people like this. I am Human as well & i have feelings too ! Yes i was yelling out of frustration! We have worked with this location for our kitchen remodel, purchased cabinets and a few other items. Today we picked out our backsplash and Sam in flooring was super helpful and friendly. He provided excellent recommendations and even helped locate the tile we liked. Lowe's is lucky to have such a great employee! He made the sale today. We noticed he showed the same care and consideration with other customers too! Thanks Sam!! I also want to mention Liz in kitchen who helped with picking out our cabinets and one of our appliances. Thanks to her the long project and decision was easy to make! Liz is the reason we spent money at Lowe's on Cabinets! She was so friendly and helpful and very responsive to questions via email as well. What is up with the usual difficulty in checking out using a veteran's discount? Nightmare experience. I ordered a dryer and it was delivered on August 20 that evening we noticed it was making a weird sound so we called on August 21 first thing in the morning. They had a technician sent to check it out a week later on August 27. So we waited a week for them to come fix The dryer that was clearly malfunctioning. The technician came and said that it was defective and that we could get an exchange free of charge. I called the location and spoke to Michael who was condescending rude and kept saying that we could only do exchanges within 48 hours. I kept telling him that we reported the issue within 24 hours. It was like talking to a brick wall that wanted to degrade me. I asked to speak to his manager and he put me on hold for 20 minutes eventually I gave up and called customer care and they were able to help me. I found the whole situation very demoralizing. He didn't recommend calling customer care or recommend any sort of solution. We just paid $768 for a new dryer and they sent us a broken defective one in the technicians word and they were taking no responsibility whatsoever. We actually just ordered a fridge from them a few weeks before too. So we've given them a lot of business and we actually need to order a stove, but we'll be ordering from Best Buy because I feel so turned off by the experience. I would not recommend anyone to shop with them. I find them to be reprehensible and immature and petty, and I find the whole thing to be quite disgusting frankly. read more

Let me start with online info, we found what we were looking for and it told us exactly where in store to go to pick up item! Bravo Lowe's Then we pay for item and wheel it out onto truck, i'm more of a stabilizer type of person than lift and move, so I stabilized as the hubs did most of the heavy lifting. But then comes Des, one of the Excellent and gracious employees who stopped gathering carts that people left in parking lot and he came and offered his his to my hubs! Bravo yo DES, who graciously spent his time in this heat dome to pick up and transport orphaned carts back into the store, but went out of the way to help us (my hubs really). His work ethic is absolutely priceless. There is true value in someone who sees and chooses to do good. I made sure to help return our cart inside so that it was one less large cart to bring back to home base. read more

I went to Lowe's in Antioch to look at flooring for a house I bought in La Quinta. I currently live in Discovery Bay, but will be moving in a few months, and I just wanted to get an idea of what I wanted and approximately how much it would cost. I wasn't going to purchase anything until I've moved, and I let the flooring specialist who helped us, Diego Martinez, know that. I wanted to give a big shout out to Diego. We asked him a lot of questions, and he happily answered all of them. Diego even pulled all the tiles and flooring down that we liked so we could see close up what they would look like together. He even printed out estimates for us of all the flooring we were looking at. He was so helpful and went above and beyond, all the while knowing we wouldn't be back to purchase anything at this store from him. I really appreciate all the time he spent with us going over everything and answering all of our questions. That's what I call excellent customer service. Thank you! read more

This is my go-to Lowe's for getting houseplants. They seem to have a better selection than my local Home Depot. As a bonus, I seem to experience better, more helpful service at Lowe's. In choosing houseplants, we tried to pick varieties that are best for purifying the air. They have Peace Lilys in stock, which are among the best performers (Google the NASA Clean Air Study). A plant removes 1.7 mg/h benzene, 0.6 mg/h formaldehyde, and 1.1 mg/h trichloroethylene. They also remove toluene, xylene, and ammonia too. Although you normally don't expect high levels of these chemicals, think about all the cleaning agents you have around the house along with paints, cosmetics, etc. All these benefits plus the plants look real cool and are easy to take care of. The one downside is that the leaves of the Peace Lily are toxic to dogs and cats if they eat them. read more

Worst experience ever. If I could give zero stars I would. We purchased a washing machine about a year and a half or 2 years ago. In that time period we have had it go out twice. The first time we were without a washer for a month while Lowe's warranty company randomly ordered parts and when they didn't work they would reschedule to try another part. They finally fixed it only for it to go out again last month., On July 13th we put our claim in that the washer would not turn on. A week later a tech came out to look at it. A week after that he came back with a part, that did not fix the issue, he then ordered another part and a week later he was back... surprisingly again it did not fix the issue so he ordered yet another part. Meanwhile we received an email from Lowe's stating our washer could not be fixed and we would be getting a refund. Well no word from Lowe's so we called, they say they don't know anything about the email. During this time my family of 5 has been using a laundromat paying just about $100 per week. Lowe's says they are so sorry and will mail us a $50 gift card... that we have never received. They tell us if they can't fix it the next time out then they will refund us. Well guess what they came and could not fix it. The tech even told my husband it was not repairable. So we call Lowe's, they say wait 3 business days. We do and they call to say they ordered another part and want to come back. Please keep in mind my husband has to take off work each time to sit and wait for the 5 hr time block. We have lost more in his wages than we paid for the washer. We tell them that they said they would refund us and we are not taking more time off of work...we get a call today saying they are denying our claim. I will NEVER purchase an appliance from this company again. The customer service is a joke. They do not care that we have been without a washer for a whole month and have spent $400 just to wash our clothes. They do not care that my husband has taken 7 days off of work (that includes both times our washer was down) all they care about is money. It's disgusting! Do not shop at Lowe's. I've been coming here at least every two weeks for over four years. I am always working on some sort of home improvement project, and this Lowes plus the Home Depot across the street get a lot of my money for these projects. Here are my general observations formed over the years. Staff here is on average friendlier than the competition but many are not immune to what my first boss in retail called customer pariah disease (when employees treat customers like pariahs and try to avoid them at all costs). Staff typically seems to know where things are, even if you need to find creative ways to describe things so they understand. I've had customer service issues here... and I dont recall ever leaving the store feeling like anyone cared or wanted to improve things. Did they resolve the transaction satisfactorily? All but once. But the service side of things was always absent. They have less plants than their competitors but we've had better luck with them. Especially shrubs and succulents. One of the biggest concerns I have is safety in the store. They don't usually shut down the aisles adjacent to the aisle forklifts are operating on. A woman in Washington where I'm from was killed in an accident that way and most home improvement stores stopped allowing customers down adjacent aisles during forklift operation for that reason. Today I visited for the 2nd time in 3 days and observed pallets of cinderblocks stacked 3 high on top of a broken pallet, on a slope, angled away from the building right toward pedestrians and cars and right on the corner where customers pull their cars in to park and load. Its one bump from a car away from tragedy. I pointed it out three days ago and clearly they dont care because it's still there. Cleanliness is fine and generally if they say it's in stock online, it really is I'm stock. Lumber is OK, check out Big B or Ace for better quality. We really like valspar paint and have never had a problem with the paint department here. read more

Okay let me start by saying. I normally ALWAYS try to go to lowes whenever I can. 1. For their political views 2. Always having a veteran parking slot available near the front of their stores. However, I do feel compelled to share that the Lowes in Brentwood (or is it Antioch?) Had some really bad moments. A few months back, I was looking for a garden hose (the ones "as seen on tv" the elastic one that shrinks, durable and was 100 feet long) I asked a representative (young Asian slender lady) she said we don't have that, go to Amazon...ooohhkay?!? So, I shrugged it off and asked another representative and she was able to find it and I went on my way. A month later, I went to the same Brentwood location, I was looking for a specific "widget" (I forget now what it was) and I ran into the same lady....I asked her, where I could find the "widget", she sarcastically looked at me for a sec, then she looked up and pointed to the large banners and said "thats why we have these things!?!" Alllrighty then.... I immediately ignored her and she went on her way and so did I. Given it was always this lady I seemed to have a problem with, however, my latest experience was 5 days ago. I was buying mouse traps, 3 of them. They only had 1 cashier. She called for help several times. No one came. The line was a single line about 17+ people deep. Everyone that looked down the line practically said or had a look or a grumble that signified (aww hells nah!!) When they saw how far the line went. Multiple Lowes workers walking around aimlessly, right in front of the line, looking at us and kept on walking. Seems like no one cared?!? Did I say the 1 cashier called several times for help?? 25+ mins later, spending my life - standing in line a 2nd lady opened up and you can hear a subtle sigh from the line. It was so palpable, that you heard it, like a small sigh or as if, the people in line were holding their breath. So, although these incidences are w 1 employee and the line was a holiday line, I feel that management should be training employees better. Maybe its my 15 yrs in retail management, maybe cause I'm getting older or maybe because I was in a rush...whichever it was. I feel that there should be a better way to address customer concerns/questions than to send us to Amazon, or answer back w sarcasm when asked a question. It sure seems to me that with such a great store, and I do love that store, they could use a lot more "basic" employee training when it comes to handling customers properly and have a protocol like the old Lyckys grocery stores (3 to a line, then they open a new register??)....or maybe they just need to give their employee a snickers bar?? Hardware items are often messed up, probably due to customer abuse. Many items are not properly marked with pricing. Self Checkout is a pain, I always go to Lumber checkout. They have a special discount and parking for Veterans. Veteran staff had distinctive vests which it makes it easy to identify them. read more

Now of course we know that it's a hot commodity right now and the website said they had low inventory but we tried our luck. Note that my first 5-star review still stands for May Crisostomo's excellent customer service. She was so good that I went back because my refrigerator now went kaput! Unfortunately, it was her day off. I thought the rest of Lowe's staff would be as good as May, but although one person did acknowledge us, she really was not helpful and left us to our own devices. May had come up to us and explained and questioned us what we were looking for and was very interactive and informative. The rest of the 4 staff members there this day avoided us and did not approach us and were like ignoring us just talking among themselves and laughing. Like no one wanted to be bothered. It disappointed me as we had such great service all the way through the delivery the last time! So since no one really wanted to help us, I left and went elsewhere in search of my fridge! That was a loss of a few thousand dollars-but the workers probably don't care as long as they get paid. Wow-Lowe's you should make May a manager or something-she worked hard and helped three other people when we were there the first time. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store, and they recently have the worst customer service EVER! One, when you ask for a manager, Carlos doesn't have the time to put effort into meeting customers; he sends an associate. April has helped me twice, and the first time there was a substantial amount of the order missing, which she corrected, but it took them 1.5 hours in total from before I met with her and after because they kept helping other people. The second time April met me, my son was with me, and she said I scared all the employees, but the funny thing is. I gave a $40 tip to two kids who put boards in my car even though I'm a pro member, and I gave other employees wireless headphones and other devices as a token of my appreciation. How they are scared of me is a phenomenon. Thirdly, I came to pick up my order, and it didn't look right, even though I accidentally ordered instead of the other pine wood; the lady showed me the order, and I had three different orders, and she told me I never checked in for all three of them. You can't check in for all three, but you had two of the three orders. Anyway, her attitude was horrific! I'm shocked and looking to see online what I ordered, and she's the one with the attitude. Even if I was at fault, you are a part of customer service. Don't be rude to your customers! I told her I'd take my business elsewhere, and she said go for it. Good thing I signed up for a business account across the street with Homedepot. This place was good before their new hires, or at least before I bumped into these two women!
