I had a very disappointing experience at the Home Depot in Pittsburg, CA. I needed help finding the right blade for a project, and despite waiting and clearly looking for assistance, no one came to help. Several employees saw me standing there but walked right past without offering any assistance. I may not look like someone who does DIY projects every day, but that shouldn't determine whether I receive customer service. Every customer deserves to be acknowledged and helped when they ask for it. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary--just a few minutes of someone's time to answer a simple question. Instead, I left feeling ignored and unwelcome. I hope management takes customer service more seriously so future customers don't have the same experience. read more

I needed book a rug doctor to do some carpet cleaning. Unfortunately the location in Brentwood does not carry them for tool rentals. The nearest location is in Pittsburgh. Too bad you cannot reserve it online, but they did listed how many are available in the store. Shoutout to Duke for helping me book the rug doctor. Even though there were instructions by scanning the bar code on the device, he took the time by demonstrating how to use it and what soap I needed. The rug doctor did an amazing job and easy to use. It is time to re-visit customer service training for employees at this location. I was in the store less than an hour ago. I grabbed a cart and wanted to use the restroom before I started my shopping, so I headed in that direction first. I turned down the wrong aisle and ended up in the little area where the refrigerators are and saw an older blonde/gray haired woman with glasses who was sweeping. I asked her where the restroom was and she said it was a few aisles over and towards the back wall. She then said "you wanna leave your cart with me?" No. Why would I leave my EMPTY cart with her, walk over to find the restroom and then come back to get it? After I used the restroom, I came out and was on the exact aisle for the item I came in for. I can only assume she saw me cross over the middle walkway aisle, because I saw her standing out there now rather than where she was when I first encountered her. As soon as I bent down to look at an item, she comes out of nowhere and says "ma'am those items, if you buy..." I interrupted her, and didn't let her finish. Why? Because #1, I did not ask her about the item I came to purchase, only where to find the restroom. #2, WHY would she be following me? When I told her I did not need her help, she walked off and said in a loud sarcastic voice "OK, I was just trying to help you!" Newsflash, not everyone is coming in to your store to steal and should not be treated as such. read more

Shout out to the wonderful Home Depot kids project team. I gotta say that I went to a different location and kids were placed in a tiny room were was poorly equipped. They were using big/heavy hammers. Kids were so crowed and had to work on the floor. It was hard to walk around worry you might step onto someone. They we not provided with small hammers, screwdrivers, paints, or brushes. Once I was there, I realized that the Pittsburg store has an amazing kids setting, well equipped and their staff members are awesome. At the current situation, they are practicing social distancing for COVID19. I am loving how all the registers have those clear dividers. It actually protects the customers and the employees. Hand sanitizer is available at the door. Staff are very helpful and friendly!!! They always have products I need and in stock. It's my go to when the one near me does not have items I need. Today in particular when I went in. The store looked organized and clean. I don't know whether it's because of pandemic or what but I was impressed. They actually had a good amount of plants. Horrible customer service. I have been on hold with them for longer than 30 minutes and have been calling every single day. My online order says ready June 22 and it has already arrived in their store. It is now June 26 and still not ready. So we are fixing up two homes and got the worst treatment from two Home Depots, this particular incident involves the Pittsburg one. We are getting carpet installed. I set up a guy to measure, he comes out, is on time and quick. I call Home Depot and the lady says it's okay to come in Saturday morning to pick out the carpet. So we go in Saturday, it's 9am and we wait by the carpet area. And we wait and wait and wait. I stopped four different employees and asked them if they could get someone to help us. Each one said they would and went on about their business completely ignoring my request and their promise to help. So let me reiterate - each one of these four employees lied. They did nothing. At the minimum they could have come back and said "there is no one" but they didn't even try and find out. They just made the claim they'd get someone and then did nothing. We see other (much smarter than us apparently) people come and wait for someone to help in carpeting and then leave. It's about 10:15 now and I"m fuming because we've wasted an hour-15 sitting around like morons for nothing. I go to the paint section and get a guy to get a manager. This of course takes another 15 minutes. A guy named Jay finally shows up. He says no one is working in carpeting on Saturday morning. Yet the person on the phone told us to go in and 4 other employees claimed they'd get someone instead of telling us no one works there on Saturday morning. I'm so furious I can't see straight. So Jay offers to help. He's surprised we've already had the measurements done. I ask about some carpet. Now keep in mind, when I first started looking I talked to a guy in carpeting who said it would take about 2 weeks to get the carpets we need and the installation can be done right away. I ask Jay about the carpet - he says "oh gee, I don't know if we have any of this in stock, it will take four or more weeks to get it." Completely different story than the first guy said. Then he says "but over here, we have our 'in stock' carpet, it's not as nice but it's in stock." So we go look at that. I'm ready to be done. I ask about one carpet. Jay literally says "well, I'm not sure we have it in stock." You f'ing asshole, you literally just told me this was the "in stock" carpet. I'm not happy. I say I'm done and want a refund for the measurement guy coming out, we wouldn't use Home Depot if you offered us free service at this point. He goes to give me my refund and of course, as is always the case at Home Depot, the computers are not working. Big shock. He says he'll do the refund later in the day. I have to keep checking my account during the week to make sure it's done and it was. So I'm done with Home Depot and it turns out we need some closet doors so stupid me thinks "well, Home Depot can't screw this up." I go in, look at some doors, then later in the day call their doors department. I speak to a guy who is so nonchalant and clearly doesn't want our business. He tells me he's not sure what's in stock or how long it will take to get it or how long it will take to install and literally everything you'd say to make sure you don't get our business. I swear this guy did NOT want our money. I can't remember a guy who didn't give two sh!ts about what he was supposed to be selling like this guy. That's it. Done. No Home Depot. Ever. Worst company ever. If they offered me free service, I'd say no. I got a phone call about a month later from them asking how the carpet went and I'm flabbergasted. I explain what happened and the lady says I need to call Customer Service at corporate and let them know. I tell her I don't want anything from Home Depot but she says they still need to know. So I call and talk to someone, explain everything, she was very nice and says someone will contact me. I don't really care because I won't use them. Sure enough, I get a call on my voice mail "I'm so and so, my manager said I needed to call..." It wasn't even a manager, just some employee the manager passed off the chore of calling. Mind boggling. A manager did call a couple days later an offer to assist but I'm not sure with what. I explained we got carpet at another company and would use Home Depot for anything. "Well, if there's anything I can help with, let me know..." Did you just hear what I said? I guess not. What are you going to help with? Wash my car? Went in with my son for a couple of items, and the ladies at checkout were super friendly and they even gave my son a lollipop.

Absolute nightmare. Had a lumber order and everything that could go wrong has. First we paid extra for a timed delivery window, and no one showed up. Took an hour on the phone to reschedule the delivery to Wednesday.... then suddenly later that day for a call that we were getting a delivery after all. GREAT I thought. Well, turns out part of the order was missing... and now I am yet again on hold with someone who has no idea what to do and will probably be on hold for another hour. Such a frustrating experience. Update: on hold for 23 minutes and then got hung up on. So problem still not resolved. Home Depot manager if you're out there somewhere, PLEASE try to help me! read more

I had to pray and think about it before I came to write this review. I totally believe in forgiveness and third and fourth chances and forgiving 70 times 7. But generally speaking, in this store, they are not sorry and they do not care. They do not want to correct their mistakes, and they do not want to become better. Dealing with customer service is tantamount to being in a street fight. Hardly anything is where it's supposed to be or it's out of stock, the management is abrasive and hostile towards women, and I can prove it just by pointing you to the other reviews. To be perfectly honest, I believe the behavior is a result of this being a location frequented by helpless undocumented immigrants. They don't feel like they have the same rights as every other American, and this combined with the management here has bred an abusive staff not worthy of this great country. If you want to be treated like a human being with dignity, I suggest going to Lowe's just up the street. read more

Ive never been so disappointed. I called due to my shipment not been delivered on time and missing parts. After being promise that they were going to deliver my lumber from 2-6pm, no call no show. I spend more then 40-50k a month in this store, I'm now considering other options. This delayed a project that needed to be done today. My contractors were also very disappointed In the lack of professionalism. After making a call to speak with a manager, I was place on hold with no warning, to find out that there was no notation of the order being messed up, no record of us calling is 3x and and still no resolution to why they had said they were making a separate shipment that NEVER showed up. I was given 4-5 different people (managers) Liz Murphy, Tim Madge, Sulema Vela and Lorenzo Guerrero, and still don't have resolution. What a shame! It doesn't even deserve a star. read more

I'm in the works of building a football goal post for a football themed party so I came into Home Depot in hopes that I would find the right items for this DIY project. I came in by myself with just an ounce of knowledge on how I would make the goal post but I was totally optimistic. I knew I needed some sort of piping in order to create this football goal but I wasn't exactly sure what kind of piping. While I was in the piping aisle I was assisted by two Home Depot employees by the names of Vince and Avi. And, thank goodness for these two employees! They were both extremely helpful and understanding when I told them about my DIY project. As a woman (who never steps foot inside of Home Depot) I am beyond thankful that these employees had patience and were willing to help me execute my idea! "Recently had an AC unit installed by Haddon through Home Depot. Biggest mistake ever, the workers at Haddon are incompetent. Firstly they did not make sure the AC unit was compatible with our power system, which resulted in ALL of the power in our entire house going out constantly until we had somebody else con talk a new power supply unit. Secondly, just two months after having the AC unit, it stops working in the midst of the heat waves. We call Haddon, they lie and say somebody is coming out. We wait all day long and nobody comes, we call back and speak to DEBORAH (*****) who then tells us nobody is coming until the end of the month, and then proceeds to hang up in my face while explaining I have babies in the household and it's too hot, somebody needs to come in sooner. They offer NO WARRANTY, they want to charge $192 to come LOOK at the AC which has nothing to do with fixing the unit. I would never use Haddon or Home Depot services ever again as neither party want to take responsibility for their errors. Haddon offers nothing but headaches and financial strain. Will have to charge back if Haddon refuses to fix the AC/continues to hang up on me." This is my review legit for HADDON who HOME DEPOT advertises and sends out for certain jobs. Home Depot is also at fault here because one look at Haddons yelp reviews show they are a horrible company who overcharge and under deliver. Now I'm stuck paying for a brand new AC unit that doesn't work in the midst of a heat wave. Home Depot wants to wash their hands of this situation by claiming it's not their responsibility, however they sent Haddon to us. We had a delivery scheduled for a new freezer on Thursday. Dec. 22nd between 6AM to 8 PM (14 hours) we waited all day for the delivery and kept checking our order status which showed out for delivery. Finally at 6:30 PM I called the store to check on delivery and I was told the truck that was making the delivery never showed up!! No phone call or nothing what kind of delivery service do they have?? They rescheduled delivery for after Christmas which sucks because this was a Christmas gift. Oh where to start..... Came in Nov 3rd to get a quote on a front door and closet doors. Got the closet doors ordered and 2 weeks later get a call saying they had arrived. Yeah that was a lie. Waited at the store for an hour while they tried to find my doors. They were no where to be found. A couple days later got the doors and everything was fine. Now the front door has been a different situation! Same day Nov 3 tries to schedule to have someone come measure. Well a week later still hadn't heard from anyone. Finally got someone to come out. Now it's been 3 weeks since and we still haven't even got the quote. I went into the store today and had someone print out the quote for me, which apparently they had but never gave us?! After a month of trying to order a new door we will not be going through Home Depot. The lack of communication and the level of confusion is ridiculous. read more
