I vouch for the customer service here being an easy five stars. I came in on an uber eats pickup (yes, you can order from the hardware store) The object? A space heater in the middle of July. In Chicago. Really. The object exists, it has been plastic-wrapped onto a pallet and stored forty feet above the earth. I didn't get the name of the guy who located it and retrieved it for me, but I have him in a few pictures. I didn't understand what he meant when he said "it'll take a minute, I have to get it off a pallet." I waited in the back thinking that that must be the place where pallet business is done. After awhile, a woman from gardening asked me if I needed help. I told her without judgment (I am not the ultimate priority in the store and anything could have come up for the first guy that would have taken him off the hunt) about the first guy and that I was not entirely sure what was happening. She searched and found the object and took me to the location where the first guy was waiting for his chance at the lift ladder device. "I wasn't going to leave you hanging!" he said. "At least I got to meet Jasmine," I said and then addressed the next customer who was already being helped by Jasmine "you should really take a picture of her too. Any time anyone asks you what customer service looks like you can just whip out your phone and show them her picture." I want to thank Jimmy the manager for his good customer service. I purchase a dehumidifier and was forced to have the dehumidifier delivered to my home. The dehumidifier was delivered and FedEx left the package on my front porch step and the dehumidifier was stolen. I tried to get the Wicker Park store to help me recovery my loss. No one was helpful not even the corporate office. Lowes position is as long as the delivery company can show a picture that confirms that the merchandise was delivered to the location, they have met their obligation. They do not care if you did not get the item that you purchased. The manager Jimmy at the Brickyard store was the only one that helped me by contacting the vendor and the vendor replaced the dehumidifier. The customer service at the Wicker Park store was horrible and I will never shop there again. If it was not for the good service I received at the Brickyard store and the manager, Jimmy going above the call of duty to help me, I would not spend another penny at Lowes. Buyer beware when ordering online and expecting to receive your merchandise. read more

I ordered a washer dryer stack combo. first installer said he couldn't install due to a broken water valve and he pointed I hired a plumber and fixed what he pointed to it was the wrong valve turns out that if the installer had any repair experience they would have known how to turn the water off because the valve was not broken they came to install my washer dryer four times and said they couldn't install it every time the last time the plug was broken on the washer dryer I said stick a fork in me I'm done. I canceled the order and I'm getting my washer dryer through ABT and the only reason I went with Lowe's is because they had next day delivery 2 weeks later is when they gave me a washer with a broken plug it was a nightmare and horrifying experience read more

i needed a lot of shades and didn't want to measure or install them myself: 5 room darkening shades, and 11 shades with a printed pattern. I used the Lowe's website to request an appointment on 4-24-24. Their contractor Graber called me right back. On 5-15-24 we saw the salesman at our house, chose the shades. he made some good recommendations for the 3 skylights to keep the heat out of the rooms. the shades were on sale. We paid $4085. which I consider reasonable for what we got. The installer came June 15,2024. He was professional, polite, friendly, and quick, took about two hours. The blinds are beautiful and doing their job to keep the sun out while also adding to the beauty of the rooms. communication with Lowe's and Graber was excellent. everyone was professional and made sure we were happy. read more

Unlike other hardware stores, there are a couple of items of the same brand but have high-priced, unlike Lowe's, which have the same quality of standards if compared. They take care of the delivery of any heavy materials purchase in their store. Their store is clean inside and out and strictly observes health safety protocols like wearing a face mask. There is no doubt that Lowe's has developed a well-known reputation throughout its years of service. With so many big box hardware store options this is a place to avoid. Staff in the aisles were of no help. They couldn't give basic instructions of where to find things. I would give a zero rating if I could. The only thing justifying one star were the nice ladies in front who were actually trying to help me with my situation. This Lowe's sold me a snow blower with a missing part and refused to correct the issue. The snow blower does not work without the part and this was a Christmas gift for my mom. When I bought the piece, I was told the best way to buy it was fully assembled which clearly was not the case. The 3 employees I interacted with at the time of purchase didn't identify that the primer was missing and also communicated that if I had any issues I wouldn't have a problem doing a return or exchange. Prior to coming to the store, I called ahead and explained my situation. Whoever I talked to at that time told me to come in and he would find me the part I needed or return/exchange the item if they couldn't fix it. During my experience tonight, trying to get the issue corrected, the manager, Norbert, was completely unreasonable and unwilling to have any accountability. He couldn't understand why I wanted a unit that actually worked. Why was it so hard to understand that I didn't want something that didn't work? The item is $400! He indicated that he was confused to what I was asking for. He couldn't offer me any solutions and it felt like all he wanted to do was get me out the door. He did not even try to help or consider when I offered some solutions that would work for both parties. He was short and abrupt and didn't even want to get the background of what had happened to understand why I'm such a frustrated customer. Lowes used $7000+ of my money over 6 months, put my wife, daughter, and I through untold pain and misery -- and gave us nothing in return. I rated Lowes a "1" but would have rated them a negative five (-5) if I could have. Here is my purchase experience in Chicago for over $7000 in product and installation services. The "only" positive experience was with the front-line salesperson who took our order. She tried her best to overcome all the "Lowes" issues as noted below. She should be given an award. Everything else, as shown below, was a COMPLETE COLOSSAL TOTAL DISASTER! - Took 2 weeks to get measurements due to incorrect record-keeping - Initial order was reportedly "cancelled at customer request" (NOT!) resulting in another visit to the store to fix - Provided several incorrect delivery/install dates that pushed out to 5 months before I pulled the plug - Two subsequent purchases were asked of me as not all needed product was ordered by Lowes at the initial purchase - I've had three different product deliveries (should have been one) with up to 9 missing components. I will need a fourth because more damaged product was returned, and I am still waiting on promise dates for the additional product delivery. Lowes apparently doesn't audit deliveries to make sure they are complete. - Installation team incorrectly recorded a "partial install" as a "complete install". The install team had no idea I needed more work. - Delivery/pickup/return drivers arrived at unexpected times - No return phone calls from anyone in the company across all Departments. 75% of the time nobody even answered calls. - Lowes staff covers multiple Departments resulting in a complete lack of continuity in resolving issues. This problem was amplified because most of the staff is part-time. - Impossible to get connected within the company. Probably 50+ phone calls to get in touch with anyone who can help. Gave up on calling the store/company and just went into the store when something was needed. - Never could reach the Store Manager. - Paid everything up-front (mistake!). Lowes probably made a couple hundred bucks in interest over the 5 months with my money. - Product was garbage. Almost 40% of the product was damaged resulting in returns. Boxes were intact, so I can only imagine their supplier was putting known-damaged product into boxes hoping we would accept them. Major quality issues. - Escalation to a) Customer Care and b) Corporate resulted in "one" return call and no results. - Lowes even made a mistake in scheduling the pickup of the returned product. Now I'm sitting at home waiting to see if they arrive before my Holiday party later today. Oops ... they just rescheduled the pickup until the exact time of my Holiday party. Now I have to reschedule. Oops ... not tomorrow - have to wait 3 days. Oops .. pickup team won't return the product until I uninstall and carry all cabinets to our garage. The next day the pickup team gives me another shock indicating they do not have room in their truck for 13 cabinets. Finally they relent and abandon the others on their delivery list for the day. - Received a partial refund for some of my cabinets, but another visit is required to get approval from the Store Manager. - Store Manager doesn't even bother to meet with us on the final day. - The next day final refunds take 2.5 hours and 6 return receipts. Why 6 when the original purchase was one receipt ???? - Time to return to Home Depot as my "go-to" big box store. read more

Although they were covered under the manufacturer's warranty, only the dryer was successfully repaired during the first visit. When the technicians returned to fix the washer, the repairman asserted that it was functioning, but it soon malfunctioned again with a new error code. New LOWes in customer service. Giving 1 star because I cannot give no stars. I made the mistake of going to my neighborhood Lowe's (store #1845 @ 2630 N Narragansett in Chicago) this afternoon. While on my way, I tried calling to see if they carried replacement pumps for garden fountains. Their voice response system picked up quickly and transferred me to the Garden Center, where the call cycled between ringing and sharing a message about how someone will be picking up shortly. After 10 minutes, their phone system hung up on me. I tried calling back to speak to their customer service desk, but after the initial message about holding, they never picked up. I got to the store, complained at the customer service desk, spoke to a store manager, and purchased my replacement fountain without anyone picking up on my call. I have up after 35 minutes. (See image of my phone screen.) Manager claimed the store was busy. There was at most only one person behind the customer service desk the entire time is was there. That person was supposed to handle returns and the phone? Really? I think there's also a problem with their phone answering system. Calling their customer service number (800.445.6937), I got a message that they were busy. I could continue to wait or I could have them call me back. I selected the option to get a callback, but stayed where I was. I was on hold for another 5 minutes before I was offered a callback. After confirming my information, I was told to expect a call in 2-3 hours. Anyone want to wager whether on not I'll get a call? Once home, I tried an online chat - specifically citing I wanted to chat about customer service issues at the store, but got some salesperson who told me to call the store. When I finish this review, I'm writing an email to Lowe's CEO. I will NEVER go back to this store. read more

Let me summarize....I bought 2 refrigerators 2 1/2 weeks ago. Garage stainless had scratches and a dent. They guys who brought said they will call and get us a discount. first Lowes offered on speaker $50 then the delivery guys shook their head at me and whispered ask for more. I got $90. Who cares. then my kitchen side by side...heres the crap Lowe's Home Improvement pulled. After installation of fridge we found out when pressing the water button it was leaking like a waterfall out the back. Ruined our hard wood floor about 5 foot by 3 foot warped. It was leaking from tube inside the fridge. Ok so i call and make a liability claim for wood and basement where all the water ran down the wall. (2 weeks later STILL no call from anyone on this). They bring out 2nd fridge... this one after they left we noticed the freezer drawer sticks out 1/2 inch on top and wont shut. I call right away and say they will bring out fridge #3. Customer service says they will contact me in 24 hours. I wait 2 days no call and explain everything again and this person "escalated it to a supervisor and will call in 24 hours. 27 hours go by i call and again "Im sorry we will escalate this to supervisor. Another call in 24 hours. No call again yesterday so i call again. 6 total calls. 2 hours and 27 minutes. Final straw they say they have no notes from 2nd issue and the only thing they will do is pick it up and take to warehouse. Then after they decide if its a manufactures issue they will issue a credit which will take 3-10 days and then at that time I can decide if I want to purchase another Fridge from Lowes I can. I will NEVER step foot in another Lowes again in my life. Poor customer service and NO communication at all. Buyer beware and NEVER purchase a nail from these crooks. read more

Review for installation/delivery: Tried to arrange installation/delivery for new patio doors. A cost of over 5,000 dollars spent to get this done and 3 months of back and forth between this store and their construction partner they are with. Zero communication between them. So we had to call their corporate office numerous times. They even changed the date of delivery from before Christmas to Christmas Eve ruining our plans. We took initial days off for the install but those fell through when they decided they couldn't do those days we planned well in advance with them. Just horrible service Over the phone too with only a few people actually knowing who their construction partner is and constant transfers with zero resolutions. I needed to cancel that order and re-order from another Lowe's location, and I ended up choosing this store. I received the text that my order was ready. I drove an hour to the store, notified them that I was there, and waited 45 minutes in the curbside pickup spot. I tried calling from the car to see if I could speak to someone to let them know I was waiting. I was immediately put on hold. I then went into the store, where I saw 4 employees standing around in various spots. I went to the customer service desk--a female employee was on the phone. She didn't acknowledge my presence at all. I waited several minutes, and a line formed behind me as she continued to talk on the phone. Another customer entered the store--it seemed to be the one she had been speaking to on the phone--he went right up to the desk and continued talking to her. She still said nothing to me or the other people in line, and did not call for another employee to help. My wife and I are livid and have reached a point that we've have never gotten to in dealing with a horrible customer service issue with Lowe's Home Improvement and J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. and advocate to all consumers that you not purchase appliances with Lowe's or purchase from anywhere that uses JB Hunt's final mile delivery and "installation" service. Given that Lowe's in not in LZ, I don't feel bad posting this. The epic lack of customer service and the unimaginable amount of our time wasted by these two companies has reached a pinnacle and I am now in rare form airing my dirty laundry for all of you to ensure other consumers don't get the mistreatment we've gotten. Long story short, we were delivered a refrigerator on September 7, 2020 with a damaged door which was not disclosed by the drivers until they finished unwrapping the unit. They said "all we need to do call the store and they will send us out with a new door and will swap the doors out, it's easy and quick." We thought no problem, we'll take care of it that way. Here we are on January 3, 2021 and the issue still hasn't been resolved. We have spent countless hours on the phone with Lowe's, JB Hunt, and Samsung and have endured ridiculous corporate finger pointing, deflecting, and promised call backs that never came. All we've been asking for is that Lowe's either swap out the damaged door, which is super simple to do, or cut us a check to have Samsung take care of it which they can do easily for around $300. Today, Lowe's was supposed to take away our fridge and bring a new one tomorrow (another two days lost on waiting for deliveries within 4 hour windows). They showed up and refused to take it claiming we didn't have a clear path even though I shoveled a clear walkway for them. So much for all the food we had to get rid of... I called the Lowe's store and they connected me with the manager who disconnected the call and then when I called back refused to take my call giving me the "I am with a customer and can't talk right now" and then was mocked by an associate who said I'd be waiting a long time. I'm done. Canceling my Lowe's credit card and not spending another dime there. I'm not a grudge holder but I won't support corporations mistreating loyal customers the way we've been mistreated by Lowe's. This has been epically frustrating and I've lost more hours than I wish to admit over a damaged refrigerator door. So, to all of you thinking of purchasing your next appliance, think twice before risking it with Lowe's as it is clear, they will do whatever they can to just make people keep whatever damaged goods they bring out and then wash their hands. That's where the bad experience started and had she not been In a rush maybe she would have gotten my order right.
