Great store to go in and get what you need and leave. Special orders are a disaster. I ordered two entry doors and two storm doors. I had one of their professionals come to my house and measure everything and then I went to store and ordered doors based upon contractors information. Doors were ordered BEFORE Memorial Day, it is now 8/4 and doors aren't even installed. Contractor was supposed to install yesterday but I got a call from Lowes saying something was wrong with the order and a part was missing. Today Lowes calls me and says that while they were reviewing the order they realized the storm doors were wrong. We need to reorder doors and the up charge would be another $500 on top of the money I have already put out. Just as an FYI- I had to pay in full once I ordered the doors. So that means that Lowes has been sitting on my money for the last two + months and I do not have any doors yet. Go somewhere else. Fighting to get money returned. I am done with this store. Next time I will go to my local lumber yard and pay the up charge. read more

Do not purchase your appliances from Lowes in Commack. They take an order for a 4 piece Frigidaire set in which I pay for in advance. They set up delivery but then inform me that the refrigerator is on back order so they tell me they will deliver everything together when the refrigerator becomes available. A few weeks go by and I get a call telling me they are delivering the appliances the next day. We get the fridge and dishwasher but no stove or microwave and they tell me those items are on back order. I go to the store see the appliance manager who is not only clueless but very rude. He informs me that they no longer have that stove in stock because the model # changed even though the new stove and the one I ordered are identical. He tells me that he can longer give me the new stove at the price I paid even though I have a signed contract and have already paid for the appliances. I also notice that the dishwasher they delivered was not the one I ordered and when I tried to explain this to the manager he just blew me off. I am in the process of contacting Lowes Corporate offices and Consumer Affairs in the meantime I am warning anyone and everyone who plans to purchase their appliances from Lowes in Commack, BUYER BEWARE! read more

Where do I begin? First off, everything I have ordered has been on a back order for months...Purchased a washer and dryer in June, after paying and receiving a delivery date of a month, they tell me that the products were discontinued...so back to the store for a refund (July) and buying another washer and dryer at a more expensive price (nice trick Lowe's). The genius who sold us the dryer failed to mention that you NEED to buy a power cord...but hey, maybe it's included. It was not. Add insult to injury they didn't take away the old washer...(nice service). Back to the store to complain about the lack of a power cord and failure to pick up my old washer. Mind you this is now August so yes, the new pair were on a huge back order as well...The Washer guy who runs the department was no help and basically brushed it off as it's not his problem, just buy the power cord. The manager called later after my complaint to corporate and also said just buy the cord. And I did...at Home Depot. As well as a new fridge, stove, dish washer, cabinets, fixures, tiles, carpets and paint...so congrats to the moronic manager, for not making a consumer happy for a $10 power cord, you lost a sale of over $10K...round of a applause to you. read more

Visited this location on a Saturday night in June. I'm an intelligent, established suburban mom with money to spend. I was looking to buy a gazebo. I looked around and witnessed many other customers looking for assistance. The store did have some workers but noone was rreally adequately able to help most of the customers including us. So in the end I didn't spendf my money here. The Home Depots around the way have workers who are willing and capable of helping you. I even felt bad for the workers. Pure chaos! read more

Went to Lowe's Commack NY on July 1 to purchase Roundup they had on sale in the 4th of July flyer. The sale was to purchase 1.33 gallon size and get 160oz refill for free. There were 3 signs on a pallet display of 1.33 gallon size stating this.. So I picked up the 2 and went to register to pay. The cashier rang it up and it wasn't coming up the refill for free and she had the flyer right there..so she called for a manager who came over right away and the manager had an attitude before she even knew what was going on. She checked it out on the computer and said it was the wrong code for the 1.33 gal size i picked up. I explained to her what the sign said but she didn't offer to check it out and and offered no further assistance so I left the products and walked out. Went to Home Depot today a half a mile from Lowe's and they had a similar offer.. Grab the 2 items and went to self checkout. The free item didn't not come up free..talked to the checkout assistant and one of his associates..They took the time to check into further. Not only did they go and get the product for me they gave me the discount on a more expensive item ($4) because they didn't have stock on the item on sale. These two young men now what customer service is..they couldn't have been friendlier.. They made my day.. read more

I am a customer of Lowes for a long time. Lowes at Commack is very clean and beautiful. Staff at Lowes, Commack, NY Is amazing. Every body is very knowledgeable and helpful. Specially Mr. Ken (store manager) is excellent, smart and very very helpful. I observed him very nice to other customers too and at the same time organizing the store. This is regarding the purchase/installation of a kitchen sink and faucet. First of all, there is no getting through to any department via phone. I must have spent over 2 hours on hold without ever speaking to anyone. I originally went to store to purchase sink/faucet. That went fine, I was told I'd get a call in 2-3 days about next step of installation. I waited for over a week, then I tried to call back, with no success, then I had to go down to store, turns out the cashier didn't ring up my receipt properly, meaning I could have waited forever and wouldn't have gotten a call. Only 1 person in all of installation dept? Took about 5 weeks to complete. The sink is now finally installed....but it is leaking like crazy underneath, I called PROJECT ASSISTANCE LINE and got someone to come "fix". They came out to our house, couldn't fix. Do not allow Kevin Campbell, sales rep for Lowe's in your home!!!! He is incompetent, will lie to you and rob you. he is a thief!! We purchased a window for over $5000 that was and still is broken since it was installed, (which was well after the promise by date on the contract.) We were assured by the installers that it would be repaired immediately. It also has to be the most ridiculous window I have ever seen. Everyone that sees the window has the same reaction which is....where did u get this window? It looks horrible! We don't hesitate at all to tell them where it came from. The window could have been any size necessary because this was all new construction .. but he designed and installed a 4 panel bay window where each pane of glass is only 10in wide. Portholes on a ship are bigger. This window was most likely laying around because he screwed up another project and he figured he could unload it on us because there was no specific size needed. Kevin will design a window but tell you he can't show you a picture of it and to "trust him". We spoke to him once after the install and he was going to replace the window (I have all emails from him to prove that) because he agreed that it "funny looking" We have been calling and emailing him for 2 months now and he just stopped responding. He also charged us for the removal of an existing bay window but the funny thing is there was no window to remove. This was a new installation in a new extension onto my kitchen.This is where he is a thief. So now we wasted over $5000 for a ridiculous looking window which is broken and paid for work which was never done or even needed. This is even their second chance. A few years ago we dealt with Kevin for our living room window and the installers cut a load bearing stud out of our wall and the window (which is a very large window which cost about $8,000) had to be replaced because it was breaking and it was breaking because the window , after cutting out a load bearing stud, was now holding up my roof. We figured it was an isolated incident where Lowe's just hired a bad contractor. We gave them a second chance. But it's now obvious that the problem is Kevin Campbell. How this guy has a job still Is beyond me. Iam in the construction business for over 20yrs and I can tell you this guy has no clue what he is doing or saying. So if Lowe's tells you they're sending Kevin Campbell to your house do yourself a favor and tell them you want someone else. Please be aware of the installation team! Very unpleasant surreal experience especially with a sales person named Kevin Campbell. We paid $12,000.00 for our roof and it was the worst experience of my life! There were unsupervised unlicensed men on my roof when I was told all will be licensed. False! I was told I have a 10 year warranty! Instead he showed the warranty for the shingles and said the labor is provided with it....when it came time to complain about the workmanship I was given a completely different warranty where he highlights one year warranty and lowes isn't reliable for any bad workmanship! Where was this warranty!!! Please google abc news lowes deceptive tactics! It's disgusting a billion dollar company did this to my home ! They did a half job for $12,000.00 and gave me a one year warranty I will have to redo my roof now and sue lowes!!!
