I love Lowe's and all the people who work there. This horrible review is because of the carpet installation company they contract to do their installs. They didn't bother to show up for the first appointment and lied the next day saying he was coming straight to my house first thing in the morning (he didn't show up at all again), and finally made it the 3rd day (after my 3rd day off work waiting for him). So, i yelled at them...ok, i'm a butthead. But really? I mean can't you have a tiny bit of consideration for your customer? Nope...after yelling at them, they became passive aggressive and added $500 of totally absurd charges to the estimate. I had to abandon the $75 that i had paid for them to come out. So, i went to Home Depot. Beautiful service. Fabulous People. And no stupid, trumped up fees. If you want carpet, go to Home Depot and save yourself a whole lot of aggravation. read more

We just received our replacement refrigerator as the first one delivered had two bad door dings on the left door. The sales person was very professional and promised a replacement if we could take a picture of the door dings and send to him. Even though we had to wait a while to get it, it was delivered as promised and professionally installed this afternoon. We shop at Lowe's when we need items for our home and have always found them to very helpful and accommodating when we order appliances. First off, I don't have any problems with Lowe's itself. I have a HUGE problem the the 3PD delivery service they do use, and it reflects badly on Lowe's that they would use such a terrible service. They were supposed to deliver and install a stackable washer and dryer. They said their truck was too big to go down the driveway, which is was, but I have driven a similar sized truck without any troubles. They could have just walked it up on a dolly up the driveway, which is a hard compacted gravel. NOPE! they refused to deliver it. They just didn't want to work, or maybe I needed to pay them some extra money? What a crappy service. read more

BUYER BEWARE FOR LARGE MAJOR APPLIANCES!! I HIGHLY recommend you just purchase elsewhere unless you know how to install yourself... PLUS you won't get customer service the way it should be & that is with a little thing I like to call "COMMUNICATION" from the associate to you regarding delivery, installation, and haul away of old appliance. They are FARRRRR from being forthcoming about any of that. We purchased a dishwasher there yesterday - 3/28/20 - I asked every question I could think of - do I need a power cord? Yes. Do I need to purchase hoses? Yes. Do I need to know anything else? No - I was told they would be delivering AND INSTALLING my dishwasher today - 3/29/20. Then I asked about hauling away the old one. Yes! They do that for a nominal fee. No problem for me. So today they delivered my dishwasher. The window was 3-7pm, but they showed up 5 hours early - and now I know why. Not only do they NOT install it, but to haul away the old one, I was supposed to disconnect it and have it "out and ready to haul away." Really? Who knew?? so they were here for 5 minutes. . . I told the delivery guys I was told when I purchased it they'd be installing it - they actually laughed and said, "Yea... we get that all the time - those guys don't seem to tell customers the installation goes through a 3rd party company and needs to be scheduled separately." (That's why they're running so early - dropping off appliances to unsuspecting customers who expect an install takes a lot less time.) So now I have a new dishwasher sitting in a HUGE box in my kitchen, the old one is also still here. I called Lowe's immediately & listened to the phone ring for 1-1/2 hours before someone finally picked up. Guy who finally answered said their installation is backed up for several weeks. If I had known that while in the store, I could've scheduled it. What the hell good is a new dishwasher if one can't get it installed??? We had our entire kitchen remodeled through Lowe's 4 years ago - spent over $10k - & customer service was absolutely awesome back then. Apparently, no now. AT ALL. So buyer BEWARE!!! YOU WILL NOT BE TOLD EVERYTHING... and if you don't know what to ask, you'll never know what you'll need to do until it's too late and you're stuck with your new appliance sitting in a huge box in your house unuseable. AND - Don't even bother trying to call the store - no one answers &when they do, you'll get transferred & put on hold until the line disconnects. I had to call back 6 times before someone actually "helped" me--- the 6th call back was me giving them one last shot while I was getting dressed to drive down there, but luckily, I finally got a person on the phone...who was zero help. DON'T SHOP HERE!! I am Debating on File a Police Report! One of the Employees working in Lighting on 12/20/2010 was short with me and hostile towards me, I am handicap, was looking for a Halogen bulb replacement. I called several stores around town first. When i did call the store I did notice the Employee in lighting was short and rude on phone as if I was wasting his time. I let his rude behavior roll off, I looked on line and decided to go look for at Lowes. I drove around in circles trying to find someone to help me in lighting nobody around for over 5 min. Employee;s seem to ignore my calls of excuse me... I found a tiny Red button hidden far back behind counter says if u need help push button. So I did and after 2 min more a guy Named Ken working in lighting the same one who answered phone. I said i believe we spoke on phone, I'm needing a replacement bulb, showed him the tray for it, he started talking this watt and that watt, I politely said I don't under stand all that, What sort of bulb am I needing? He got offended I guess, became more hostile with me, and began raising his voice at me! Yelling at me , I was in shock at this type of customer service! I said never mind I will get someone else to help me. He became very angry and THREW THE TRAY AT ME!! I could not believe this just happen to me, as I sit in the handicap cart. I Said I'm reporting you to the management! he shrugged his shoulders and lift his hands up as to imply So. I explained to Management what had just happen, and if they look on their Video they would what he did to me! They let Ken continue to work in lighting I never seen Manager speak to Ken, or reprimand Ken. Do I get an attorney and make a police report?! read more

Well I tried to give Lowes in Cotati another shot. I went to the appliance department looking for a dishwasher. There selection wasn't the greatest, but I lucked out and they had the model I was specifically looking for anyway. The salesmen were fine, no problems there, but they did n't have the dishwasher in stock and it had to be ordered directly from Whirlpool. I was told it would take 7-10 days which was fine with me. Today my dashwasher was delivered, almost 3 weeks after I first ordered it. I guess their 7-10 days to deliver must had been "estimated." It was a contracted company that Lowes hired to deliver the dishwasher. The guys man handled the dishwasher tossing it around as they removed it from the back of their box truck. They where moving so fast that one of the guys accidentally let the disher fall out of his grasp, out of the back of the box truck, and fall 3 feet downward onto the concrete. Then just as fast as they dropped my machine, the other guys shoved a clipboard in my face and asked me to sign for the dishwasher and his coworker jumped down from the box truck and rolled my dishwasher so it was right-side-up. I told him I wouldn't sign for anything until after we inspected the dishwasher for damage. The guy kept repeating, "Oh no, its ok, it fine" and he tried to get me to sign for it again. I removed the box from the appliance and discovered that they broke the wheels off the bottom of the appliance. So I told them to load it back up and leave and that I would be calling the manager at Lowes in Cotati. I called the Lowes Store Manager and complained. He stated he was sorry but he didn't offer any form of a concession to make up for the service I received. He just said he was sorry and that it would take another 7-10 days before I would receive a new one. read more

We just purchased 3 of 4 major kitchen appliances from Lowe's. Complete nightmare! First we purchased the dishwasher and the sales guy spoke to me like I was a complete idiot, in my opinion. When we went back to purchase a fridge and microwave I avoided him at all cost. The salesman on our second visit was definitely more helpful and I appreciated that. We made a second purchase and had them deliver both items. The 2 delivery guys literally brought the items in, plugged In The fridge and left. Done. We knew we may have to shave a bit off the counter edge to fit the fridge, fine, but they didn't attach the door handles or align the side by side doors. It took us calling and getting hung up on 6 times to speak to a manager to remedy all these issues, and then in fact they weren't fixed after all. The delivery guys came out again, 4 days later and then My husband ended up attaching the handles to the fridge and the doors are still slightly off. Ya got us this time Lowe's, but bet it won't happen to us again because we won't be coming back. read more

DO NOT order your cabinets through lowes. They say they guarantee their work, but I haven't seen it. They measured wrong and still have not fixed their work after a year! I ordered Schuler Cabinets. Many cabinets came in with the wrong color, a few came in the wrong size. I am still missing shelving, soft close hinges, rollout drawer on some cabinets. I ordered them Jan of 2013, received them April 2013, and now it is April 2014, and I still am trying to deal with Katie Kindle and Mike Murray, management and install department on these issues. They ignore emails and just don't care about customer service. I paid for these cabinets, so they got the money, why help me still? read more

We tried to buy a stove online from Lowe's, we called the store for help and there was NO help. We ordered the stove and it took at least three or four missed times to deliver it. When it was finally delivered they couldn't install it as the gas line was wrong but that was the one they told us to get online.Just a total catastrophe. After years of shopping at Home Depot and loving their products as well as the fact the allow dogs I thought I would never give them up. Lowe's moved to town around 2005 and it took until 2012 for me to start trying them. Well, I have to say, I am glad I did. Lowe's is great on a local level. I know customer service folks by name at the Cotati Lowes and I depend on a few folks for sage advice on products in the paint department, small appliance (vacuums and whatnot) tools, and irrigation. Their isles are clean and I can find and get to product easily. On a company culture basis, I am thrilled they take Cyber Security seriously. In fact they haven't been responsible for fraud on any or even all my bank cards. And I don't know any time that they fired an employee for helping save a customers abducted child from a kidnapper! Maybe the best part is Lowe's gives great discounts on brand names. Their prices also keep me loyal and coming back! read more

Just remodeled two bathrooms and purchased two Kohler Cimarron toilets from this Lowe's (Cotati). The first toilet was fine but my plumber (30 yrs experience) said the gasket wasn't sealing between the tank and bowl. Rare but he had seen it before. Thought it was a defect. Due to scheduling, I couldn't get him back to the house for four days and had to go by a different toilet in the town I live in because everyone was out the same model of toilet I wanted. After we finally completed both bathrooms I loaded up the defective toilet and drove over an hour back to this Lowe's for a refund. Manager didn't even come talk to me, only the young woman over the phone in the return area. I was informed that I had to contact Kohler and exchange toilets. I explained I lived an hour away and I had to buy a replacement toilet to finish my project. I made a special trip to handle this today. Didn't seem to care. How about Lowe's taking care of its customer who was put out in the middle of a major project and handling this with the manufacturer for him? I was actually supposed to put my project on hold while I waited for Kohler to exchange a toilet with me. Ridiculous. Super disappointed in this poor customer service. read more

This review is for the garden shop only. I am not really a fan of these mega building supply places, mostly just the garden sections. I called first to see if they had " gorilla hair" ( shredded redwood bark). Yes, they did. So I went over to make my purchase. I am a senior citizen, but that didn't seem to matter with the service I received there. (Maybe I should take that as a compliment, since I must not have looked too helpless?). I knew these bags were large, and the material is moist, making the large bags pretty heavy. I asked where they could be found and one of the two workers ( who I apparently interrupted) pointed to the aisle ( 5) where I assumed that I could " self load"! I just bit the bullet and hoisted two bags into my cart. I was pretty much ignored during my entire visit. The two employees were not assisting others, one was doing some kind of book work, not glancing up to see if anyone of ANY age needed assistance, the other, who had pointed to aisle 5, was straightening out a shelf, ignoring the register and me! So, I got what I went in for and loaded the bags into my car, wondering if anyone my age might have been injured with this kind of " inattention"? Probably no one has been injured yet, or they would be more anxious to help! read more

I tried to order a refrigerator for this place... their costumer service is a joke. Over the course of a about 8 hours, I called six times, spent an average of about 15 minutes each time before I go a human that said they could help me and EVERY SINGLE TIME, they person I talked to (never the same twice) failed to do what they promised to do, be it call me back or run my card and schedule the delivery. This Lowe's customer service is getting worse all the time. No one wants to bother with helping you. They just point a finger in a direction as if you haven't already spent time looking in your own. They are usually out of or have not restocked the shelf and have to wait for someone who doesn't want to help you to get it for you. Today was a different issue. I went in the front door waiting my turn in line. My husband and I shopped for about an hour and were checking out in the nursery area. My husband was at the check out ana I just stepped out the front to look at a plant and I turned around to go back in and rude young Anna said, " you have to go around and go in the other way." I told her, " I already did and and I am checking out right now." In a very snotty tone she said, " I understand that and you still need to go around." Really? I understand it is her job to tell people to start there but can she not vary from her script for a good reason AND not be rude to customers. I asked her if she needed a break and instead of realizing how rude she was being she continued to be rude. I am so sorry to see the service go downhill because Lowe's is convenient but I will make the drive to Home Depot. read more

Appliance department rocks! I've shopped around a lot to other retailers - Lowe's offers consistently great service, and easy (and fast) delivery and installation. Recently had an excellent experience with Tom Neal in appliance sales, even though I caught him during the busy Thx/Black Friday week. Twice this year I've made major appliance purchases from Lowe's - a high end dishwasher (after Best Buy jerked me around for a MONTH on bogus delivery dates), and a range and dryer after comparing to JC Penney (prices were same, but Lowe's delivered the next week for free, compared to Penney's 1 month wait for a delivery nearby - and no delivery at all in my zip). Sears has pushy sales and limited brands. Home Depot just can't match Lowe's customer service and delivery flexibility. Lowe's is my go-to for appliances - I really appreciate their fantastic prices and service. read more

Lowe's customer service is so poor that I am going to avoid them as much as possible. I was forced to travel a distance to check on an item's availability because I could not get ahold of anyone willing to walk a short distance to check for me. After I drove there, I found out that they were out. When I asked to speak with the manager, he was in a meeting and could care less if there was an unhappy customer in the store. I then called their main competitor and they were more than happy to check for availability. They were out as well. they then called a sister store and found the item for me. They ordered the windows and they took four weeks to get there but they got the wrong color trim so that they had to reorder them so it took about seven weeks total. I was continuously told that it was a lifetime warranty. But the labor was only for one year.... It's my fault though because i should've read the fine print I guess. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. It took four days and about twelve phone calls - sometimes letting the phone ring for over five minutes (without exaggeration.) The water heater we'd purchased at Lowe's a few years ago was still under warranty. I had a return authorization number. Often better staffed than Home Depot, I enjoy coming here for my household projects. I recently came here to price check quality storage cabinets for my garage while picking up some new garden plants, birdseed, and wood for an addition to my cat's condo. I love the opportunity to find materials and work with my hands. Usually I can find what tools and items are necessary to compete projects for a fair price at this location. I just thought the prices seemed better. Now, I actually didn't purchase anything from this place because just like Home Depot, they did not have a good selection of entry door handlesets which I was looking for. However, because of their displays I was forced to walk past lots of outdoor furniture which was very fairly priced and I took mental note to go here when I'm ready for those types of purchases. read more

I avoid Lowe's like the plague. I had to pick up a privacy lattice that is only sold at Lowe's. 3 pieces of lattice wasn't until I got home I figured out that they had charged me for the wrong item apparently it is some sort of lattice gate is almost double the price now I'm going to have to unload the lattice put back on the truck go back down there and bring it in for and exchange.
