We recently needed some fencing as a tree fell on ours and we needed a stack for an apple tree. The fencing needs we had was easy to find and responsibly priced. The yard stacks was not with the fencing supplies but inside by lumber so we did have to ask an employee who was able to help us find them. Of course we also find some plants on clearance and a few other clearance items so overall we had a successful trip! They did have several cashiers working when we were there instead of needing to utilize the self checkout. read more

Do not buy custom blinds at Lowe's and be wary of all special order sales. I purchased two custom blinds from them recently. They had an installer at my house literally within two business days to measure. I was told that most installations are complete within a week. I ordered and paid for the blinds. Lowe's would not let me schedule the installation until the blinds were physically delivered. My blinds arrived today. I called called within minutes of the delivery and was subsequently told the first availability for installation is one month away. We live in a 1200 square foot apartment. We now have have a twelve foot long box laying in the middle of our apartment that we will apparently have to live with for a month. Once I had paid for this order, any semblance of customer service STOPPED upon purchase. The person helping me stopped replying to email or returning calls. Once Lowe's has you on the hook, they will leave you hanging in the wind. I tried calling Lowe's corporation and received no assistance. I would just install the blinds myself and demand a refund but was told that would void all warranties. I'm tempted (and still may) to take these blinds to Lowe's, drop them on the customer service counter and demand a refund. read more

Last visit I approached a cash register with the light on with my purchase, the head cashier five feet away at the exit door looked at me and literally turned away, did not speak to me, did not offer to ring me up. The layout is different than the one we're used to so it took us a little time to find what we needed. Twice now I have ordered a dishwasher for delivery. I even get confirmation text the day before with a time range. Twice no delivery. First time no delivery, no email or call. Ordered a replacement for my stackable washer. When they team arrived, they said they could not help take the dryer off the washer and re-stack it. So they left the washer. I was able to find friends to help me move the dryer, we hooked up the washer, and restacked the dryer. I have been calling them for days to get the old washer picked up - we paid $50 for removal - but can't get through to anyone at the store #1095 in Knightdale. First and foremost I would like to say that I work at lowes ( customer services) for years at two different locations. That being said I can relate to the employees and there stress levels. This location is horrible. Anytime you go here for pickup you either wait forever outside for no one to respond to you or u go inside to wait on line. What's the point of curbside pickup if you have to go inside? Also, today I waited an hour for paint. Lowe's Home Improvement needs Home Improvement. I ordered a tool online (six were in stock and available) early in the morning, and later that morning went to Lowe's for pick-up. You guessed it! They couldn't find any of the six tools that were supposed to be available for purchase. Several employees searched the store, couldn't find my tool, and found out more tools were missing (stolen). One of the workers said theft is very high, and the computer updates inventory based on items sold. This is the second time I've ordered a tool from Lowe's only to find out the inventory listed online is a guess at best. I refuse to go to Home Depot because their staff is worse than Lowe's. If you want superior service from a Lowe's employee, find one that works there part-time: the regulars will drive you nuts. I don't know anything about wood or carpentry and am always super intimidated when I go to a home improvement store. I was doing a project with a paper template and needed some wood but wasn't sure what kind was best. Luckily, I found Ezra in the lumber department. He walked me through the whole department helping me find the right kind of wood I needed and then helped me cut it to the right size. He was so friendly and helpful and without him I probably would have wandered around aimlessly for an hour. First and foremost I Had to schedule my own instillation date... because Lowe's never did. Finally got that taken care of... Date was set for 8-17-21 which was yesterday between 9am-11am.. Left work early to come home and @12:00 no call and no show... finally got in contact with someone and they stated my records show my instillation time was from 9am-3pm... Who the he'll schedules a 6 hour window for a 3 hour job ... when the installer finally showed up at 12:30... only to find out when the Lowe's Delivery guy (Larry) delivered the floors leaving them in the garage vs inside the house where they have to be for up to 72 hours before they can be installed . So I assisted the installer taking 22 boxes of flooring upstairs... called this morning and I still don't have a scheduled installation date Finally installed the flooring but missing the stair nose... had to order and that took an additional 8 days.. I picked it up from LOWE'S called Legacy Flooring and they said the earliest they can install this piece is next week!!! I am trying to avoid going into a busy store with people not wearing appropriate face coverings and I end up having to wait 30 minutes to even have any acknowledgment from any staff. Then I'm told that they'll be out momentarily and wait another 10 minutes before leaving without the things that I ordered for pick up. Bad experience at this Lowe's location. My regular Lowe's store (much better there) told me a flooring item I'm looking for was in stock at the N Durham location. I called N Durham to verify - they did answer the phone, but told me they didn't have the item. I asked them to double check. They still said no. I didn't believe them, so I went to the store, and sure enough, they had it. However, noone helped me, even after standing there for a long time (and pressing the Help button). Eventually, I moved a bunch of heavy flooring boxes to get to the one I wanted. Someone who worked there finally walked by, but didn't even glance in my direction. N. Worst customer service I've received- it was so bad I've gone out of my way to write a review. I didn't hear the paint center attendant ask if I needed help, since I was in a phone call, but I caught the tail end of their question when I saw them look at me while they were speaking. I took out my earbuds to apologize for not hearing them and that I did have a question after I finished my phone call. They rolled their eyes and walked away. From that point in they ignored me and when I did decide on a paint color, they left it in the tumbler and walked off. Another associate finished helping me because they saw how long I was waiting. The Durham store on 117 William Pen Plaza was one if the worst customer service experience I had! If I could give it a 0 star I would! First off, I saw at least 2 employees with their COVID masks BELOW their nose, secondly, they don't provide ANY Sanitizer, and when I was looking for a sanitizer station after using the checkout and touching that station, I walked around with my purchase, receipt in hand, to the gardencenter entrance, where the sanitizer station was empty. Ordered a gas grill online Saturday, June 1, four days before hubby's birthday, as it was to be his present. We requested assembly, and also ordered a grill cover. I waited until Monday to call and see if it was ready, knowing it might take a bit. They checked and told me it would be ready in a day or two. Okay, no problem. Called back Wednesday, June 5, since it was his birthday, hoping to pick up the grill. No dice. Talked to someone who said he handled assemblies, and he said another couple of days. Not too happy by now, but I told them I could come Saturday and pick it up. Called Saturday afternoon to ask about it, and three different people later, they couldn't even find the order. Checked back later in the evening, hoping to talk with someone else. Put me on hold to get a manager. 30 minutes later, I hung up and called back. Immediately put me on hold for another 15 minutes, never picked up. Called back a third time and asked that they please not put me on hold, that I really needed to talk to a manager and had been holding for 45 minutes. The lady who answered rudely told me "It's not my fault if they don't pick up," and put me on hold AGAIN. Called back, tried a department extension, and got a manager by sheer luck. Explained to him what all had happened, and he said they didn't have the color we ordered, but did have one assembled in another color. Told him that would be fine, and we'd come by the next day (Sunday) to pick it up. He offered to take $50 off the price for the mixup. Went to the store Sunday to pick up the grill, and the online order clerk told me she had TWO orders under my name, one for each color of grill, and that both orders had been cancelled. Waited 20 minutes, finally brought it up to the front. They DIDN'T take the $50 off the price, didn't include the cover that we ordered, and the flavorizer bars were missing when we got home. I work in customer service myself, so I understand it gets busy sometimes, and computers aren't foolproof. But you have to really work hard to mess it up this badly. Keshara at the paint counter has been fantastic the past 2 days! She went above and beyond to assist us with our paint needs. Today Lowes had lost power and she was unable to mix another gallon of paint for us, but with her excellent customer service skills she went out of her way to call me when the systems were back up and running. Today was my only day off to complete my project and right before she notified me the systems were up I actually got a call from my grandmother and had to take her to urgent care. To say the least, I was not able to go back in to get my paint, but it certainly wasn't for lack of Keshara's efforts! She was extremely polite and honesty I've never heard of someone willing to do that. She understood the urgency of my time and did everything she could for us. I will send my husband in the get the second gallon on his way home from work. Great service, wonderful demeanor. Thank you! read more

Words do not describe how much I love Lowes. It may just be this location, but everyone in this store is so damn helpful! I mean, I walk in with pictures on my iPhone and I can find someone in the right department who can tell me what to do. Let me tell you a story... I am trying to sell my house now and my Realtor suggested a few repairs. I write up all the measurements and count up all the knobs and realize I have no idea how to finish the edges around my ceilings. But, cameraphone in hand, I head to Lowes. 1) I measured my air conditioning vents wrong. So I ask the lady in the plumbing department and she pulls out a tape measure and measures the vents with me to find the one I need based on my stupid measuring. 2) She then helps me with my new faucet. Instead of pushing the in) she shows me AND explains to me how to replace it myself. Right now I feel pretty effing confident about replacing that faucet. 3) THEN she tells me exactly how to fix the edges on my ceiling. I mean down to the exact caulk type. I am a do-it-yourselfer. I have been to MANY home improvement stores and I can easily say there is no better place that the Lowes of North Durham. Not only is the staff helpful and friendly, they actually know what they're doing! I have never encountered a person there who got the glossed over look of not knowing what you're talking about when you explain your problem. Or worse, associates that have that dead-eye look but still trying to explain to you how to do something even though they don't know what they're talking about. That's the worst! I've been to places half knowing what I need and the associate will explain to me the wrong stuff! I need to go to a home improvement store that has people who know home improvement!
