And "delivery guy" got to my house and before he even took the stove off the truck rudely informed me we don't install. We JUST deliver. Thats our job. I said really so what if we paid extra for the installation which I know we did. He said you have to call Lowe's and they will have someone come out. Since it seems less frequented than a few other locations nearby, a lot of hot ticket items are usually in stock. We purchased countless items here such as stone for our diy retaining wall, patio furniture (end of summer clearance is always phenomenal), pillows and so much more. Lowe's always looks stocked, but it is deceiving. The shelves often times are doubled up with nearby items. Be careful when buying something, the price may not be what you thought. Customer service is lousy. Associates are rude, and go out of their way to avoid customers. Online inventory for stores either are not updated, or items are being stockpiled in their back room. The only positive is that the store is clean and easy to navigate. Overall, you can do better at Home Depot. read more

I'm not sure why but we always go to Home Depot before Lowes. Today HD was out of the paneling we needed so we headed over to Lowes... And glad we did. Prices were slightly better on a lot of things we needed, including the paneling, tiles and glue we needed to complete our DIY bathroom makeover. It came out so much better than we thought and I only wish we'd done it years ago. In general the store is also cleaner and nicer, but of course they are less busy, so that could be part of why. Employees were friendly and helpful with our questions, and that was true across several departments. Overall, it was a good experience. Will definitely try to hit Lowes more often! read more

First let me state that for the last 10-15 years this store has been there, virtually every experience I've had has been bad. Some really bad and others just bad. Mainly due to the lack of proper staffing and ten compounded by the sheer incompetence of 75% of the employees I've encountered. I live a mile from Lowe's and 5 miles from HD and would always drive the extra to bypass Lowe's in favor of HD. However, for the last 3-4 months, I'm assuming management wised up and ramped up the staffing. 100% turnaround improvement. Plenty of staff, very friendly and helpful and this of course during the COVID disaster which brought enormous numbers of people into the store with "honey do" projects. In addition to increased staffing the store manager must be doing something right because the employees attitudes are all great. Nice job! read more

As much as I want to like this Lowe's the abysmal customer service prevents me. I have had one extremely positive experience here which is why I gave them two stars. I had an Army veteran whom I believed primarily worked in flooring he was middle aged with a beard ( I don't remember his name) who was beyond accommodating and genuinely cared about assisting guests. However, I have had more bad experiences than good at this location. I had attempted to have two exterior doors replaced through Lowe's contracting service. The contracting service they use was very unprofessional, unorganized, astronomically priced and non-communicative. I had an emergency as one of my exterior doors (that is without a storm door) window broke and completely fell out. This left my home open and accessible to anyone. So I quickly attempted to work with Lowe's to get this done ASAP. Especially since it was supposed to be hazardous weather and I also have pets. After being told the contracting team would come and take measurements ( they wouldn't allow the client to take the measurements and send them in themselves) they never showed three days in a row after being scheduled for a different time slot each day. The only reason I kept attempting to work with them was because I had a credit card through Lowe's ( which I have since closed due to this situation). I then went into the store to physically meet with one of the managers who I believe her name was Jen to get everything sorted out. I explained how frustrating and unsafe the situation was. I asked if it would be possible for to receive a discount expedite the process or get my refund from the measurement service I never received. She was very rude about how I couldn't get anything for free (which I never asked for). I feel that she was over the situation and truthfully just didn't care. I asked if she could show me some accessories that matched the size doors I needed and she just said I'd find them in one of a few aisles she wasn't sure which one and then just walked away. I went to the front to try to get my 50 dollars for the measurement back and none of the younger employees could figure out how to refund me. As Jen was the only manager on duty during this time she did not assist them nor did I get my refund for a service that was never provided to me. Maybe she was having a rough day but as someone who worked in retail and retail management for many years, I have a lot of empathy for retail employees and know too well how draining working in the retail industry can be; However, after this incident I couldn't bring myself to deal with this location again and closed my account. read more

Ordered a fence to be installed, payed for it ahead of time. Then never Hurd from them again. Had to contact the store so they could locate the order. My fence was sitting there for a month and I was never contacted for a install date. Then called to speak to manager and he never returned my call. Ordered fence with the tension wire because sales man that came out said it would keep dogs in the fenced area and it doesn't even work. Horrible experience. read more

Surprised to see a negative review for this location. I've always found the employees to be really helpful and accomodating. I designed a bathroom in the fall using mostly Lowe's materials (tiles, fixtures, etc.). They answered all my questions, helped me with my choices, and let me return the extra unused tiles to help save on costs. I love the way the bathroom has come together. However, a couple weeks ago the toilet seat snapped in a weird way and wouldn't work properly anymore. It's one of the Kohler soft-close seats and has only been used for a few months! Came in to Lowe's with the seat and without a receipt hoping they could help. Sure enough, they sent me home with a brand new working toilet seat, hassle free! Thanks Lowe's! Low's vs Home Depot Home Depot is 5 minutes drive while Lowe's in Patchogue, so, naturally, I only used Home Depot, until I start noticing there is different. Here are two examples: Example I: There was a serious ant offensive in the house, which required a serious fight. Went to Home Depot, bought EVERYTHING they had against ants - with no success. Went then to Lowe's, also bought everything they had, and now ants gone... Its 3 years now, they didn't come back.... I don't know what was it, but it was strong... Example II: needed several carpets, looked in both stores, and picked the Lowe's ones. Have many more examples, but I think the point is clear: while Home Depot is OK, Lowe's is GOOD. By far the worst Lowes location I've ever been to. First off I had to return a miter saw stand, I told her I paid cash for it and I do not have the receipt. She asked when I purchased it and I told her around the end of February or beginning of march. I said all I needed was store credit because I'm going to spend $700 on a miter saw that comes with a stand. She said no problem and started to process the return. The manager comes over and asked what was going on, so the lady said that I wanted store credit but didnt have the receipt and the box was never opened. The manager says let me check it out first, and proceeds to rip the box open with a knife and like I said, the box was never opened and the item was never touched. So she rips open the box and sees that it's never been touched and says ok hold on a minute. She goes to the computer and says well I see that we sold one of these in late February but I cant confirm that it was you. So after I told her I bought it in February and they last sold one in February, she says sorry I cant do anything for you. So I pointed to the sign that says no receipt no problem and she said that I never gave my phone number or anything when I bought it so it doesnt matter. Well I paid cash and was never asked for any information so how is that my fault, and she already ripped open the box that was never opened prior. I asked her why would you open the box like that and then deny the return and she had no answer. So I walked out and put the stand back in my truck. Now the only reason I went to this Lowes was because I did a pick up in store order for some siding and insulation and this lowes was the only one that had it in stock. So I walk back in and asked if the order was ready and after fumbling around for 15 minutes I was told that they didnt have the siding or the insulation in stock, meanwhile online said 180 pieces of siding and 120 pieces of insulation were in stock and I only needed 10 and 3. I asked why online says they have it in stock and she says well sometimes the computer messes up. So I walk by the siding section and dont see it, I look around on the top shelves and everywhere else, no siding and no insulation. I asked a guy that worked there and he said o yea we have that siding back here in the top shelf, so after another 15 minutes waiting for the forklift he grabbed my ten pieces of siding. Then I look for the insulation again, and I find insulation that's the same price and has the same exact skew and item number. I throw everything on my cart and go back to customer service and it was a different girl working. So I told her I grabbed everything myself because they couldn't find it. She goes on the computer, asked if I grabbed everything and gave me a receipt without even looking at what I had on my cart. I could have had 50 pieces of siding 20 pieces of insulation and a bunch of other shit and it wouldn't have mattered. So after being in there for over an hour, I was denied a legit return, had to find all my own online orders, and had the worst customer service experience of my life. Not everyone in there are completely useless imbeciles, but about 90% of em are. read more

Back in September purchased a special order exterior door and installation. The contractor started the job the beginning of November but has not completed the job and never shows up when promised. The last 4 times he said he was coming( Dec.7,10, 11, or 12th), he didn't show or call. It is now December 12 and the job is till not complete. I shop in this and the Medford store. Medford is a bit closer so I go there for the quick pick me ups. Patchogue has a really great floor staff and a very good customer service dept so I shop here for all large and special purchases that require customer service. I have bought windows, doors, carpet, flooring, washer and dryer, etc. Spent thousands as I have two homes and have done a lot of work in both, The only negative I have is the cash registers, just not enough help on them. They have one lady that wears so much perfume I just can't get within 50 feet of her, another large lady has a real sourpuss and seems to do you a favor checking you out, so I have leanred to go to cusotmer service to check out at times. On 12/30 I paid $487 for a washing machine for which the store promised delivery on 12/31. I received an automated call from the deliverer the night of 12/30 telling me it would arrive on 12/31 between the hours of 3 and 5. I got home on 12/31 at 1:30 and waited. At 4 I called the deliverer and was told they had no record of the order. They never called me back. I called the store's appliances dept. with the information and never got a return call. I finally reached the store's duty manager who eventually called me back to tell me that the machine would not get to me today, and that the deliverer went home with my machine on his truck. A double load of wash is sitting on a shelf opposite my nonexistent machine, and among the items is the tablecloth on which I was going to serve refreshments to my guests for New Year's tonight. I went to the store and cancelled my order. Businesses should not treat their customers like this! I pledge not to buy even so much as a package of nails at Lowe's in the future! read more
