I visited the store because I needed a water pump, and an associate named Jay assisted us. He was incredibly helpful, showing us all the different types of water pumps and the correct hoses for them. He even approached us first to see if we needed any assistance while we were browsing. The store was clean, and the service was great. Even though we used the self checkout, the cashier nearby was very friendly and wished us a wonderful day. It was a great shopping experience! I ordered a cooktop in February and spent the next 3 months calling nearly twice a week with zero updates, zero follow-through from managers who promised callbacks, and zero accountability. I spent $850 out of pocket on a permit and gas inspection -- required by Lowe's own installer -- on top of $3,000+ for the cooktop, installation, and warranty. After three months, the cooktop finally arrived. Lowe's plumber came to install it, and near the end of the job declared it defective. My original, perfectly working cooktop had already been removed and taken away. I now have no stove at home -- with a 3-year-old child. To make it worse, my warranty started in February and has been running the entire time the product sat uninstalled. I've spoken to multiple managers and supervisors. Not one followed up. Lowe's intentionally sold me an open-box lawn mower for over $100 more than the price of the same model brand new in an unopened box. After I left the store, I checked Lowe's website and discovered the same mower was listed for much less. I went back to speak with the employee who sold it to me. First, he offered to lower the price to $425. Then, after I showed him the website price of $409 for the same model, he still tried to pressure me into accepting the open-box item at that price, which I refused. It was obvious he was unhappy after I discovered he had tried to sell me an open-box item at a much higher price than a brand-new one. He did not even want to handle the return himself and instead told me to wait in the return line. I waited, and when it was finally my turn, the customer service lady refused to process the refund and said a store manager had to approve it. The manager turned out to be the same employee who sold me the item. He conveniently disappeared and could not be found, leaving me standing there waiting and feeling embarrassed. The customer service lady's attitude was also aggressive and disrespectful. I stayed calm and patient the entire time and tried to explain the situation, but she did not want to hear anything I said. After being mistreated for so long, I said "jeez" out of frustration. She immediately mocked me by sarcastically repeating, "Yeah, jeez." When I responded that customers should not be treated with that level of disrespect, another female employee jumped in and yelled at me, saying, "Justin approved the refund," as if that excused everything that happened. I did not even know who Justin was, although I believe he was the same employee who had attempted to sell me the overpriced open-box mower. This was a very unprofessional and disrespectful experience. I do not expect to be misled into buying an overpriced open-box item, then treated rudely and made to wait unnecessarily just to get my money back. I ordered a bifold door from Lowe's. They sent an installer to measure the opening, but when it came time to install it, it didn't fit. I was told that a new door was being ordered and they kept sending me different installation dates. Then I found out that no new door had been ordered. When I went to cancel the order, they were going to charge me a 20% restocking fee! I'll let that sink in. I didn't change my mind and I never had the door, so they screwed up and wanted to take a cut all the same. I was able to get the 20% fee waived, but it was not a pleasant experience. read more

I order an LG dryer that they installed. It didn't work and I was told the duct needed to be cleaned based on the machines self diagnosis. I had a professional out twice, as it didn't work after the first time, but still didn't work after he repeated the cleaning. I called them, I was switched to 4 different depts, each take the same information, each requiring the same pictures. Their return process is odd as they send you a link and once you respond someone is supposed to call within 48 hrs to come and inspect. Never got the call. Called back on the 3rd day and told them I have not been able to use it since delivery on 10-25. They sent another link, I have to wait another 2 days to see if they will call for an appt. If I am lucky I can get this paperweight out of my house by the 3 week mark and buy a replacement from a different store. The local manager at the Hicksville store, Ro, couldn't have been more indifferent when I went there to try to return it. At this point the only option I had was to put the charge in dispute and see if not getting paid with get anyone to care. Ordered a new storm door in October. It was scheduled for installation Nov 20. The installers come to pick up only to find out it is damaged. I was told a Replacement door will be ordered. On April 16th 2025 I placed a order for 5 windows at The Garden City, NY location. On June 12 I called to chec k on t he order because I had heard anything. I found out they were there for weeks, but they sent email for pickup to the wrong email address which they entered incorrectly. On Saturday June 14, we went to pick them up. To our dismay e were told they could not locate them. They said, when they did, they would deliver for free. On Monday June 14, I tried calling the store and spoke to to someone who said the manager would call us. Nothng fro him. So I callled cooperate headqurters and they opened a case. 2 more days later, and still no more info. Mind you by now, had made 2 CC payments on windows I don't have. I called the CC company and filed a dispute. Lowes a local store with most things one needs or shops for. Some terrific people who work there to name but a few, Sophia ,G , Liz in the garden center. In the Pro section there are many caring people too. John , Jill, Barbara and many others. As Lowes is a dog friendly store , these people are so caring and my dog is so happy to visit. The pro card app I've had some glitches and issues with but I still use it when I shop. They have carpet and fake grass in the back behind isle 40. A big machine cuts it to your amount ( like a giant paper cutter) There also is a Back Isle with a big yellow sign saying UP TO 75 % off. The fertilizer I saw was 12.98 ( see pix) very close to the prices I saw on the garden center. Yet upon Customer Services rep checking via phone with manager that was the price for a 5 lb bag. While They are good about returns, having a receipt helps. I. Left the fertilizer as the price seemed to me to be regular price, not discounted. So maybe that brand is the Gold version and the price was correct. I felt items were bait and switch and not really sale prices and this didn't please me. Generally, dealing with associates of these stores leaves something lacking, however Paul in the pro section is worth mentioning. He is always available for questions and ready to lend a hand, knows the products he's selling and even gives a call afterwards to confirm the products are pulled and ready to be picked up. It's very refreshing that a store associate actually follows through with something they say verbally. This Lowe's is on the way home from dropping off my daughter to daycare and I've recently begun to come here for tile and lumber and general stuff for some projects I have around the house. On each recent visit, I've been greeted in the isles with a simple, "good morning, can we help you find something?", many times and usually I don't need any help- but just to get the acknowledgement that you are there and that they are there to assist you goes a long way. When I have needed help with paint for an outdoor grilling station project I've been working on, the people in the paint department have been informative, courteous and friendly. That speaks volumes in this age where people use COVID-19 as any excuse to not be helpful or to do their jobs in so many areas of our economy. I've had great conversation and general knowledge while waiting for paint to mix and I really have enjoyed coming to this store. It's awesome to have a clean, well-lit store with so many helpful staff members to point you in the right direction. read more

I then rec'd a very unprofessional and rude email from the measuring company woman who starts the email out by saying. "We can't install vinyl sheet: Install Caution. No intro, nothing. Then in capital letters:DO NOT SELL- "UNTIL THE FOLLOWING IS ADDRESSED DO NOT INSTALL UNTIL: DNS UNTIL CUSOTMER REMOVES THE EXISTING VINYL. " I honestly thought she meant to send it to the salesperson and not me..btw, the customer. So I called and she was only more rude and disengaged in what I had to say. Lowes now has a policy that they do not need to cut sheetrock to fit on top of a car. As per assistant supervisor in Hicksville "Leonard"... it's done only as a courtesy!!! Went here on March 19th to purchase a sink/cabinet for a bathroom that was being remodeled after a flood. I had seen the vanity advertised a couple of months earlier being on sale for $199 until March 26. I kept this sink in mind until it came time for the contractor to go get it, and install it. I had pictures in my phone of the sink and its advertised price, which clearly showed until March 26, apparently it was being discontinued. Contractor goes, they have two sinks in stock, a floor model and one in the back, but wouldn't sell it to him at $199, and he had the pics I showed him in his phone. I decided to go there myself, when the contractor came back empty handed. The manager of course was on the phone, and the assistant manager came over, looking at my photos with such scrutiny, that you'd think he was looking at military reconnaissance photos taken from a drone, giving me one excuse after the other about how Lowes can end a sale at their discretion. I never heard such nonsense, and he me a offered a 10% discount. I really wanted this particular vanity, and agreed to it. However, I felt it was bad business of them to not honor the advertised price, it was like a bait and switch situation. I felt that since they still had two remaining sinks in stock, is being discontinued, and I was there a week before the sale end date of March 26, the advertised sale price should have been honored. I got the phone number for corporate, to make a complaint, but it too only fell on deaf ears, with some supervisor saying it was very kind of them to give me the 10% of!!! I love the sink, but not happy Lowe's basically extorted more money from me to purchase it, gave me a cursory 10% off , and feel like they did me this huge favor for doing so. I have always enjoyed shopping here over their other big box home improvement competitor, but no more. They're just as bad and as unhelpful as their competitor..so bottom line, buyer beware, shameful. At the time of purchase these guys said that this is virgin vinyl , we tested this fence in Florida also where strong hurricane usually come . It will never break with winds or never fade with sun . Just to advise everyone if you shop at the Hicksville Lowes to check the prices on your receipts. Today was the 3rd time I was over charged. I was over charged by $40. The other 2 times I caught it at the register, each time I declined to purchase the items in question. Today I happened to look at the receipt before I threw it out. I called the store and was told yes I was over charged (they can pull up the receipt on computer) I had to go back to the store for an adjustment. I was told that the prices are set by the corporate office and they cant change the price. So all the signs and tags with prices on the item do not matter-its what corporate says the price was. I spoke to management and was given a long possible explanation as to how this could possible happen--again this was the 3rd time. That says to me that it is there normal business practice. This location is extremely convenient for those in the area and/or those coming from one of the nearby highways. This location is also HUGE. Visited this location yesterday - truly an abomination that is overrun with employees who are unprofessional and equipped with limited to know knowledge of the products they are "charged" with selling. I wanted to share one interesting experience that transpired today - I found myself in the area that makes keys; - I decided to get a key made; - their was a female - who I think may have been some sort of manager or something along those lines; - in any event she appeared annoyed - when I asked a question about the keys that were available for sale; - I couldn't help but hear her - repeatedly telling her co-workers that she needed to "Take a Piss" - over and over again; - she must have said this like 5-6 times - very loud; with the intention of everyone around her hearing this; Not only did I find this disgusting; it was clearly unprofessional. I needed assistance in this area - purchasing a hook for my ceiling; I attempted to obtain help in this area - the employee (colleague of the woman who needed to urinate) - clearly had absolutely know reasoning ability or knowledge of any of these products; He was simply only able to direct me to the area.
