Terrible service. Needed to make an easy change on a large order but couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. I called for 3 days straight. Called managers, appliances, pro desk, etc... Had to drive 2 hrs to make a simple change. When i got to the store i decided to call the front desk as i sat close by. I watched as supervisors walked right by and no one would pick up on a slow afternoon. I canceled $15,000 in appliances for multi condo unit and went somewhere else. Bought a washing machine at lowe's. I was offered the protective plan and I declined. Took the washer home but it didn't work, 4 days later i took it back to lowe's and they ask me if I have a protective plan, I said no and they told me I only have 48 hours to return it, but nobody told me I only have 48 hours for a return. Without the protective plan. since its been longer than the 48 hours of return policy they told me that they can't process the return and i would have to contact the manufacturer to get a refund. Suggestion don't buy from lowe's. Instead, just go to Home Depot. So now I'm out $900 and I have to contact the manufacturer which I didn't buy from. read more

I would would give Lowe 0 if I could. We had the worst experience ordering appliances. We ordered a refrigerator and dishwasher on April 4th, 2023. For some reason, the refrigerator stowed it was in stock. We then found out on the day of delivery, it was not in stock. We called and called, No response. Contacted the store manager and was promised someone would follow up and call. No response once again. After hours of trying work this out, we gave up and ordered elsewhere. Delivery contractor to deliver washer was terrible. We paid to have our new washer installed and hauled away, did not happen, tried calling Lowe's to get a refund. They gave me a phone number to the delivery company - number not in service. Tried calling Lowe's again, no answer, tried for couple hours. Cheaper to just buy your appliance and have a plumber install and haul away - less problems- the delivery people are not installers and don't know what they are doing. read more

Maui's first big box hardware store has a brand new shiny home not even a mile away from their old digs. Their first store was small and cramped as it opened as Eagle Hardware & Garden which was later acquired by Lowe's. Their new store sits pretty on their own lot, meaning there is no added traffic from being in a strip mall like their old location. And it's a perfect size too, not overly large which makes finding things easier and gives off a more intimate experience. The entry and exit doors are close together which was great. As you enter the airlock, there's a conveniently located pickup area as well as the customer service/returns area. The store is laid out similar to their old digs. The garden center is now larger, and their drive thru lumber yard is easily accessed from the front of the store. They also have several touch screen product search displays to help you find items easier, something that's beneficial for me as I loathe having to ask where things are located. Over the years, I've found that Lowe's seems to carry more specialty products, and items of a higher character compared to their competitors. OVERALL: Nice new store, easy access, perfect square footage. read more

On August 14, 2024. I was at Kahului Maui Lowe's. I was there to purchase a gas range stove and needed assistance. The sales associate was talking to a couple of ladies about personal conversations. I waited patiently about 15 to 20 minutes. After he finished his conversations with these beautiful ladies, he turned around and told me to sign my name on the wait list for assistance, and qouted that's how we worked here, and he walked away from me. I wasn't from Maui, I flew in from another island that didn't have lowes. He was rude and unprofessional. And had no one else around that needed assistance before me. read more

So dishonest. Starting a kitchen remodel . They suggest a contracting company to demo and install. An outside service...not connected to Lowes. Then I just stumbled upon the fact that Lowes adds 30% charge on top of labor costs!!! Plus designer was not creative at all. I asked for the labor bid ten days ago and said I needed it by Friday. When I called the store, the kitchen designer got annoyed ...You expect me to get this to you at 2 on a Friday? I responded no I expected it earlier since I asked for it 10 days ago. Don't believe the low ratings, I have resentment for the lack of opinions. I've been shopping here for a very long time, well, since they opened this location. The staff are always welcoming and helpful in every way. If you don't have the app to look for your aisle, a simple ask and they'll direct you, or most of the time they'll graciously guide you. I have always found the employees here at the Maui Lowes to be very helpful. I appreciate the knowledge of the people on the floor and the way they answer my questions and ensure I have what I need to complete my project! A shout out to Leona who took great care of me the other day. Even though she was trying to go on her lunch break she maintained a good attitude even when we had to wait several minutes for a manager. If you need a home improvement store, come directly to Lowes, don't bother with the other guys down the road. They support the Justices who are poised to start removing some of our rights. Pretty bad service. We bought a stove online and requested delivery and paid for haul-away for the old stove. Long story short they were unable to take the old stove on delivery day so rescheduled to pick up the old one. They no-showed twice after confirming that yes they would come by to pick up the stove. So now we just have an old stove sitting in our living room. Also they are impossible to get hold of on the phone. I will update this review if they change their tune. EDIT: They finally came to pick up the stove, and the guys were very nice. Still doesn't make up for the terrible service up until that point. read more

I have been shopping more at Lowe's this year than Home Depot because the people there are so very friendly and helpful! I have bought a Frigidaire refrigerator and induction stove, and Moen faucets and sink. There was an initial confusion about the installation of the refrigerator and the range but it got straightened out. Lowes has a wonderful installation company that they use and I highly recommend them. read more

I can't help but compare Lowe's with that other home improvement store. I think Lowe's is more homeowner friendly. The garden department associates are much more helpful and they have more home decor items. Prices are about the same and their website is waaaaay better. I have ordered online and picked up items later in the day with ease. I shop at both stores but I prefer Lowe's. Parking is easier, checking out is easier and most associates don't ignore you or turn and walk the other way when they see you looking for help. I was on Maui, working on my vacation rental. I had ordered some items using my laptop, for curbside pick-up. When I used my their mobile app, my order was not there. So, I had written it down, from my computer. Pulling into the pick-up spot and calling the phone number, it just rang and rang. I had to walk into the store. I have a bad back so I really did not want to walk inside. Of course there was a long line for online pick-up, with one employee. A couple of days later, I had to return some of the items. I had no receipt for the items since my order was "missing". Thank goodness it was the same employee. Again, had to wait in a long line. Then yesterday, I ordered one item, which I really needed to finish a project. Since I did not want to drive into town and wait in line, I paid a delivery fee, to have it delivered that same day. Well, what do you know, it was not delivered that day. I waited all day long for it...I received a text that is was delayed. Today, it was to be delivered ( very late!). Again, I waited all day....a text said it was delivered! I was home, and it WAS NOT DELIVERED!!! To find out where my deliver was, I called the store, and after being transferred to the "delivery" customer service, the phone rang about 20 times and then I was disconnected!!! I called back, same thing....ringing, and disconnected. I really dislike that there are only two home improvement stores on Maui. Desperate to locate my missing delivery, I did the online chat...given an 800 number to call tomorrow (on the EAST COAST!). Since I need the item badly, I had to reorder it. It was to be ready for curbside pickup today......BUT...it keeps saying they are still "preparing" it, and the stores closes soon. I hope it will be ready tomorrow. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Maybe if they paid their employees better, they could hire more people. read more

I have had nothing but positive experiences at Lowes Kahului. In fact, it's one of my favorite stores on the island. Polite, helpful staff and great inventory. I purchased a stove, microwave, washer and dryer from this store. Due to COVID there were some delays with the dryer but the staff in the appliance department kept me informed and up to date every step of the way. Great service! read more

Visited the store yesterday to buy a board and have it cut to the right length. Was told their saw was broken, would be fixed in about 4 days and I should go to Home Depot. I did buy a few things and when I got to the cashier, one of my items didn't have a UPC code. She told me it didn't have a UPC code and I told her I would wait. She said, she could not get the UPC, that I would have to go back to where I found it to get one with a UPC code. I asked why she couldn't get it for me. She said she didn't know where it was located. Two things really stand out from this experience. 1)a store that sells a ton of saws, can't figure out how to make a cut for a customer who needs one and is willing to pay for the cut. 2) Customer service is not important to this store. I now understand why the store is called "Lowes" - reaching new Lows in customer service every day. By the way I did go to Home Depot for the Board. They were so nice and went completely out of their way to make sure I got what I needed. read more

Reviews are legit! No one ever answers the phone-only person that answers is the operator who just asks how they may direct your call. Wanted to confirm a delivery as I ordered online and received a delivery date for the next day between 8a-8p. I've business with Lowe's on the mainland and I always just end up with more of a headache than a bargain. Thought it'd be different in Maui-but guess not. *Update-Called the customer service number which was able to get a hold of someone and said delivery is 2 weeks out but can fit me in 7 days-i just ended up canceling and asked for a refund. read more

On 14 Aug 2024 I flew in to Maui from Molokai'i to do some shopping and I walked into the Kahului, Maui Lowes location to purchase a gas stove and as I was looking at the only two ranges that were available, I noticed there was only one sales associate around. He did make eye contact with me several times being well aware that we were there all while he was holding a deep flirtatious conversation with several women. After waitingb15--20 minutes for some kind of assistance, the sales associate turned to my husband and I and stated "you need to sign the wait list for help cause that's how we work around here"! I asked if there were any other associates that would be able to help being we were on a time schedule with no reply from the salesman. This sales associate (name to retrieved) was VERY RUDE ASS, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISCRIMINATORY, BIAS, LOUD AND OUT RIGHT DISCUSTING!!!!! This is usually our go to store for all our home improvements but this past Labor Day the haole lady working in the curtain/window blinds area was absolutely rude. She acted like she couldn't be bothered to help answer our questions, her customer service was horrible, rolling her eyes & talking down to us. We left with no desire to ever step foot in this establishment ever again. I called several times the follow day to speak with a manager only to be put on hold & unable to file a complaint. Very nice and clean. Quite a bit larger than the other store, but not as overwhelmingly large as Hone Depot. I always have thought that Home Depot is more for contractors while Lowe's is for the DIY home owner. I appreciate the difference. I always liked the old Lowe's store, and I'm sure I'll like this new one as I start shopping here regularly. I needed some help with a cabinet I've been needing to get since December. We got the wrong size in a set when we purchased them in December, so we returned the wrong one right away. Now the manufacturer isn't making them anymore. The store is clean and well-lit and things are usually pretty easy to find, which is good because you can seldom find anyone ask for help. But don't ever try getting one - besides their robot - on the phone. It will ring for 20 or minutes before they hang up on you. If someone actually answers, it's never the correct department so they transfer you to another phone that is never answered. Sadly, Lowe's carries some items that Hope Depot (one block away) does not, which is the only reason I shop there, but it is never enjoyable. read more

This place has such awful customer service. My husband and I have been here multiple times trying to renovate our house, and the blinds department was exceptionally unprofessional and rude (Jennifer). The woman talked more about herself than our order and we felt like we were constantly inconveniencing her. We had to actually call their own installers to install our own blinds because she couldn't be bothered to do it. We had to keep coming in. It takes about 30 minutes for someone to help us, and even then, the employee is clueless. The managers and employees who answer the phone do not care to address concerns or updates on orders. Justin, a manager who had been there for 2 weeks, told us he'd help, but it's been over a month and no word. I have called a couple times, and have had Karen who talks over me and interrupts. Very unprofessional. Lastly, I recently came here for storm supplies and a rude employee in the lumber yard would not help me load sand bags into my flatbed cart while I was holding a baby. An older man who was also a customer saw my interaction with this employee and came to help. He told me to write this review. I wanted to get the employee's name but I was on the verge of tears. The man also walked me out to my car after I waited 20 minutes for someone to help me load my car. Lowe's in Maui: please pull it together.
