Menards is a random supplies store that has almost everything for your house. From clothing, household cleaning supplies, lights, furniture, snacks, food, and plenty more. I do love their sales from time to time and their rebate is a hit or miss for us. Sometimes it's good deal but you have to wait for months for your rebates. Never order appliances from them.... nor use their only delivery installation service ever.... They broke my microwave put lots of holes in a brand new cabinet after they drilled through the microwave. Now cant get them to replace my microwave and install my range correctly. literally will b without a stove and microwave for 7 days. Great job Menards... whirlpool and delivery service who shall remain nameless... You have now cost a single mom lots of stress no way to feed her family and time off work. I dislike the mail-in rebate. I have done this twice and both times I didn't receive my rebate. USPS notified me it was on the way. Never received it. Someone must have stolen it out of my box, if in fact it was ever delivered!! read more

I have shopped there a number times and the people are very helpful. The only time I was wanting to purchase a large ited which I saw in their ad "where they say "your price after rebate is and gives the discounted price" YOU DO NOT GET THE ADVERTISED AFTER REBATE PRICE. This is a totally misleading advertising. You get a rebate (which you have to send for) to apply to your next purchase. This way Menards gets "FULL PRICE" for the item you are buying and if you do not get your rebate slip they get the full price of the item PERIOD. This is the perfect example of "FALSE ADVERTISING". How they keep getting away with this I don't know. I worked in retail (Major Chain Stores) and if they advertised anything incorrectly (lower price) you got it. I bought a bathroom faucet on clearance. I took it home it and it didn't work; so my husband brought it back. The customer service lady said no return and it said it on the receipt. Yes it did say it on the receipt. So I called the store. No way to just get an operator so I asked for plumbing. When I got a person from that department I asked to speak to a store manager which he refused to transfer me to until I explained what I wanted. I told him I wasn't asking for my money back because it was on the receipt. However, I did want to tell the manager he needed to post a sign, put it on the box or at least have the cashier explain to the customer. You can't read a receipt until after the purchase. No wonder I normally shop the other box stores! I spent 20 minutes this morning (6/11/24) on a treasure hunt trying to find sprinkler repair items. I started off in the plumbing section cause that was supposed to makes sense but nothing there had to do with sprinklers. I headed to the garden area and asked two employees if I was going the right direction, they sent me back towards plumbing/hardware. Nothing to see there so I asked another employee and she sent me to isle 29....nope. I asked a third employee and he told me isle 35 or go upstairs to the mezzanine....nope. I decided to go into the garden area only to find hose related items. How is that the other stores have a way to see the isle/bay for their products but Menards is in the Stone Age? Such a waste of time and then employees that just guess where things are at. read more

My family and I have made a number of purchases from Menards in the past. I made a large purchase and thought how nice that I will get an 11% rebate check. Never came after months of waiting. This is a big rip off. I know some people may say it must be completed properly, receipts attached and all documentation must be flawless. Well, it was. NO REBATE! Here's a question, "Have anyone actually received their rebate on time". I'm very disappointed with this business and I will never make another major purchase from them if any other big box is in business. Takes advantage of women. They sold me a faulty tiller, i went to return it 7 days after i bought said tiller. (Would not start). Was patronized by their staff, told i had to take it to a repair store. Thw repair store proceeded to tell me i started the device, ran it, and then broke it. It did not EVER start for me. There we are walking into Menards. We are coming in to place an order for new kitchen counter tops, sink, refrigerator, oven complete kitchen redo. Also placing an order for new bathroom counter tops and sink x 2. But wait there is more. We are also placing an order for carpet and new hardwood floor. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE. Also ordering a new washer and dryer. We figured the total would be somewhere in the area of 15-$20,000. We even had the list of EVERYTHING we needed. Just needed an employee to enter everything. So we walk in and get approached by the security guard. First I start giggling because this guard looks like he wore his uniform to bed last night. Wake up saw it didn't have enough wrinkles in or look sloppy enough, so he rolled around on the ground for 20 minutes, to ensure it looked extra sloppy. He informs us we can't come in with someone under 16. Hey Menards where would you like your customers to take their kids when they are about to spend $20,000 in your store?? You officially lost a customer and don't worry we won't take up anymore of your time spending anymore more money with your business. We will shop with Home Depot and Lowe's from now on. read more

Waste of space of store and people in Menards in Legends in Kansas City, KS, which is new by the way. Zero skills, competencies and customer service. On Thursday, March 16, 2020 I bought the Delta shower and tub combo. I prepaid and reserved it for pickup the following Tuesday, March 21, 2020. After spending almost an hour waiting for the employee to enter my information, find the product and reserve the product; I went to pay. On Tuesday (today), I go to pick up my order. I wondered why it was taking some time for the order to be fulfilled. I find out half of my order is available (my tub). They decided to sell my shower wall to someone else. Basically, the store sold the same item twice. That customer who bought it last was able to take it. The employee and assistant general manager, Jason Burkett, were not apologetic nor empathetic. They stated the shower wall would be available on May 6th (3 weeks later). Another option was to go drive over 40 minutes to another store. So, I have to either to wait three weeks or take about an additional hour of driving and time to pick it up in another store. They did not even offer to deliver to my house the next day the shower wall that is currently available in the Menards in Liberty, MO. I did not receive an apology or a discount for the mistake Menards employees made nor for my inconvenience. I feel like Menards stole my money and now I need to pay more in gas and time to correct their mistake. They made ZERO ATTEMPTS to make amends. I give the entire experience an F. Headquarters failed to train their store management and staff properly. You just lost a customer. I will go to Home Depot. read more

Well it's been almost 2 1/2 years we're still waiting on our 11% rebate which total just a little bit over $200. Yet Menards said they are not responsible for the 11% rebate that a second party company handles all their rebates... we have never received one penny of any of the rebates that we have sent and we call Menards. They say they cannot do anything about it because another company handles the rebates we will never ever ever buy anything from Menards and I will try to cost them as much business as I possibly can. read more

I'm not much of a DIY type of gal so there's not been much reason to visit this store until recently. What I liked - it seems clean and the aisles are large enough to not feel cramped. It sure looked like you could find pretty much anything you'd ever want. My husband ordered something online and the pickup was easy and fast, including bypassing the checkout line since the item was already paid for. Employees came by to ask if we needed help. I wouldn't say the place is crawling with help but there seemed to be enough. Love that they have so many more lights than Lowe's or Home Depot. It's a pretty decent representation of a lot of different style of lighting. I appreciate that as some stores seem to carry about 20 versions of the same basic style. I was a bit surprised to see food items in the store. I don't know that I'd go to Menards to shop for my groceries so that seems like a little too much of an eclectic sort of things to carry. If you go on the weekend, expect a crowd in the parking lot. Maybe because we've had such a long miserable winter, it seemed as though everyone in the Northland was vying for parking and shopping time. One service I intend to return for - being able to pick your mirror glass and size and then customize it with a frame. read more

Yeah, it's ok. I think the way they have laid out the items is ridiculous - not intuitive at all. For example, I was putting up a piece of drywall and needed all the fixin's. To do this basic home improvement thing I had to walk in the far right of the store, walk 100 yards or more to the back to wait in line to get a paper where they wrote out I wanted to drywall. Walk into the lumber area to find the joint compound and corner pieces. Look everywhere for the t-squares, the utility knives, sand paper. Ask, three dudes didn't know where it was, but I eventually found someone who led me to the drywall accessory area. Collected all my stuff, checked out, had to drive around to yard, load (they do have loaders), and be inspected on the way out. The process was a test of patients - who wounldn't put everything you need in one place. Other moments with misinformed help, me lost - walking around. Some of the service is excellent. I've never had and issue with checkout wait time and while I don't see myself taking advantage of it, they do have soft lines, food and other home goods. Bottom line, I honestly don't know if it's my unfamiliarity with the layout or if it's the store. I will go here on occasion, but it wont take the go-to position for home improvement stores. read more

I visited the store back on Dec. 30th 2022, while exiting the lumber yard area their security gate was dropped onto the cab of my truck which caused a dent and paint damage. I had to fill out an incident form with the Menard's front end manager and she took photos of the damage. She explained their insurance carrier would contact me which they did later that day. The associate told me they had to conduct and investigation and get with me at a later date. Almost 2 month later my truck is still damaged and their carrier denied the claim as the gate operator is a 3rd party vendor and I should deal with their insurance, cannot get a response from them at this time. I think most people would be upset if the gate caused 3,600 dollars in damage to their vehicle at the store. read more

Set up delivery order in the store. Verified the 90 item order 3 different ways with 3 people. Somehow from verify to printing the order the quantity changed from 5 quantity to 2 for one board size I was handed the order and told to give to cashier. Having verified 3+ times didnt verify the paper. Paid the bill. Delivery comes and the order was short the 3 items. I informed delivery ppl it was short. They said call menards to correct and they would bring them. Called Menards and explained the situation to sales person. He stated he thought they could deliver the boards with their pickup without using the freight service if I paid for the boards which I said was no problem. He then called for mgr approval and female manager said no. She got on phone and was rude and said it was my error for not verifying the order. Having verified the order 3x, didn't think there was need to verify the paperwork that was printed immediately while I was there. I explained that I was more than willing to pay for the 3 items but needed them delivered the 5-6 miles. Manager stated I would have to pay additional $104 for $30 addl 3 item order that they screwed up. I explained that delivery was necessary due to my disability and that the delivery was only 5 or 6 miles from store to house. Total lack of customer service and didnt even try to come up with satisfactory resolution. Called to speak with General manager who appears to be non existent and got another asst mgr who said he would check on situation and call me back in a few minutes. That was 5 days ago. Have never reached the general manager. Tried to call National Menards and they dont offer live customer service. I dont do technology well. This is the 2nd time they screwed up a large order and wouldn't take responsibility. They have the too bad so sad attitude. I spend thousands of dollars there but will not anymore. Have never had issues with big orders from Lowes or Home Depot. So I will take my future business to them. After all this, I wasnt surprised to see how many 1 star reviews Menards has and most seem to be about their orders and delivery. Definitely explains why my contractors refuse to go there. I looked forward to visiting the store but after the experience of my niece I will never step foot into this store. My niece loved the store and shopped there often. On her last visit, she did not have a basket, but carried a few items with her until she went to the checkout line. As she exited the store, a "theft-prevention" person walks up to her and shows her a picture of herself carrying an item that she did not purchase. She saw the item and thought she must have put it down somewhere in the store, although she had intended to get the item. The person walked with her to the location she thought she had left the item and found it. The price of the abandoned item was insignificant to the items that she purchased. What sort of system will have the level of detail of someone walking with an item and not know where it was left. What a terrible place, I nor my family will ever shop there again. I have seen another customer who the exact thing happened to. If your store is so worried about someone taking such a small item, maybe check your obvious very detailed surveillance system and find it before embarrassing a paying customer who is now an ex customer who will never enter the store again. read more

We had to order and pay inside for our lumber , then go outside check in through the gate, find , pick , and pull all the treated lumber for our fence and porch rails by ourselves (after we asked for help) , then back through the gate for them to check our load . They need more help in this new store ! Not a great shopping experience and poor customer service . I even complained about not getting the help after I asked when I left through the gate to leave . To be fair, my beef is with menards.com. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE WEBSITE. We purchased a Playstar swingset from the website and it was never delivered. It's been almost a month and we still can't get them to refund an order for over $1,200! Their customer service is completely e-mail based. There is no phone number, no person to talk to - just a general email address. We do occasionally get responses to our emails, but it's never with helpful information on what to do. I called the Menards store in Kansas City, they explained that they have no way to reach menards.com customer Service and there was nothing they could do. read more

I use to drive 30 mins to go to the Menards closest to me. So it's obvious that when they opened one 5 mins away I was ecstatic! They have good sales & a good selection of mossy products. There is a ton of stuff packed into this large warehouse store. If you want food, clothing, lawn & garden to remodeling supplies they have it. Their prices are vary, somethings are lower then other big box stores but some are the same price...So watch out. What I have noticed that they have & no one has been able to beat their price on is coffee. I probably should tell you so that it's available when I want it. But the coffee for the Keurig is best priced here & a considerable amount cheaper then anywhere in the area. Customer service is good when you find someone. My only issue is if you have a question other then where do you keep something then the employee is lost. Overall I still love this store thanks to coffee & the lighting area. read more

Tried to buy appliances here. Salesperson writes it up. we want them delivered so we are told we have to go to 'the delivery desk' in another part of the store. When we get there we are told that the guy who schedules deliveries is loading a truck. There are other employees around, but they can't help us. We wait and wait. Finally giving up and walking away without a purchase. Apparently they only one guy who can run a forklift, who is also the only guy who can schedule a delivery. read more

Generally we love Menards, but were highly disappointed in the lack of employees available to ask questions - poor customer service.

Grand opening weekend and Menards was packed, but it was still easy to move among the aisles and find staff to help us with questions. We didn't come looking for anything in particular, just wanted to check out their selection and compare it to or local Lowe's and Home Depot. Menards has a wide selection of all sorts of DIY, Home and Garden goods, and kind of an odd mix of grocery store items like cereal and candy. You can find just about everything there from outdoor furniture to both packs of paper towels. Good prices on many items relative to other lawn and garden stores. read more

I liked this store when I visited Minnesota, but the people working at this store must have been previous Walmart employees or simply don't give a rat's... There's a reason I don't ever set foot inside a Walmart--nasty attitudes from the employees and poor customer service. Not so sure about the negative reviews. This store has just about everything except for bread! Okay scratch that...they got bread too. Other than food and candy, I actually do come here for hardware supplies (LED light bulbs, a new kitchen light fixture, recent ceiling fan upgrade, door latches for some recent ones that finally stripped out on some cabinets, etc) This store is HUGE. We had some paint samples made recently as we repainted our interior. Pretty much whatever you need you can find here. I needed 8 emergency side chairs the other day for a dinner I was hosting for a group of 15 boys...they had them at Costco for $124 for 4 and I instead found them at Menards (different brand, but still great, super sturdy quality!) for $17 each. Easy purchase! Plus if you get your timing just right, you can hit up one of their 11% off everything sales. You get 11% back in the form of a coupon to Menards. Fine by me I'll use it anyway! read more

No one knows what they are doing in the store no one can help you with any confidence.You have to custom order about everything. Then it takes forever to get the items. The worst customer service ever. Save your self the problems of being pissed off. Go to another place that has better service than this place. Back orders should be the company moto.
