Went in to purchase some patio chairs. Picked some out that had a price card directly above the chairs that stated the price as $34. I noticed some similar chairs stacked next to them but were marked with a card priced at $68. I have had similar problems everywhere in this store. No body cares. 6 months post review - Still not complete. I used Lowe's services for a deck install that began in May of 2023. It has now been nearly 10 months and the deck is still unfinished. I have spent hours and hours and hours with various contacts within the local store as well as the corporate office and have not been able to get my deck install completed. Simply getting a parts order entered correctly and delivered has been a near-impossible task. The work the contractors did complete was not up to code and damaged various part of our house. It has been the single most insanely incompetent customer service experience of my entire life. Stay as far away from this group as humanly possible since full up front payment is required for jobs. read more

Two signed flooring contracts done by manager Christopher Lucchese at the store and anything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Sad to report that both have been serious breach of contract and both breaches done knowing and intentially. As normal with Lowes flooring contracts require material&labor paid in full prior by customer. I am 100% disabled vet so not sure who they wont exploit after observing the stores M.O. I have been a victim of theft, fraud, and even false known marketing under this store 1517 and its leadership and said all falls under civil matter. First contract was for 687 sq ft of carpet signed contract back in 04/19/2022 and nothing has been done to date. Refund Adjustment made to contract on 6/10/2022 however since 01/29/2023 nothing has ever been applied or credited even on that adjustment made for over $400 on the full payment of $2518. I wasnt told until 11/15/22 they cancelled the contract unknown by me and even stated the supporting evidence such was done over the phone with no record, unknown date and time or any rational support provided to make such false statement. That itself is a breach of the contract. I am now stuck with 70% of house already carpeted prior and with this breach 30% of house carpet is mis match as Lowes exclusive product and our goal was same carpet throughout. Valuable lesson learn big box stores like this can operate without transparency, integrity, or any accountability. Over a dozen calls no call backs no attempts to contact me, no attempts to answer needed questions, or provide any rational support for such actions. Second contract 08/19/2022 was 14k for over 1,000 sq ft vinyl plank, base boards ect....Installation error sound barrier underlyment not installed and Lowes response throughout the whole system was deny, lie, and pretend such barrier is already attached to vinyl and the additional underlyment is not needed. Advised return the 9 boxes of new material that was never installed for a refund. Problem no sound barrier is attached to the smart core vinyl product and fix calls for entire floor to be ripped back up so such can be installed all facts and direct from manufacture as its smart core Lowes exclusive product and states the facts on Lowes website. Further problem all base boards and labor paid in full and written in contract but never provided or installed. (Theft) I have thousands of dollars of paid material and labor never provided or installed and that is theft without question. I have experience fraud, theft by a billion dollar international company and to date no one from the store will reach out or attempt to fix the mess they caused. When I call for assistance nothing on system shows and told they need a few days to sort it out and then I hear nothing. Attempted in store return but given only a number to call IST who does the same actions. I have sent 2 legal demand letters after all this and still no responses. I paid to have four appliances moved for installation to be done and that was not even provided. All written in contract and paid in full. Installation team was at location for a week trying to redo a bad install job done by them and on phone with Earl for hours from the store attempting to get needed materials already paid for delivered and appliance mover to location and nothing was done, nothing has been done to date. I have lost use of my property for months now, faulty install resulted in property damage along with personal injury and Lowes hides in the shadows provides no transparency and refused to provide required information, answer any questions on what did or did not occur. I am forced to use arbitration as contracts from Lowes prevents legal pursuits i.e. trials, jury outside its arbitration proceedings to cover such a mess. What a joke and zero accountability. Huge lesson learned and had no idea and never saw this irrational nonsense could be done by such a large company. I further attempted to notify corporate as I think its employee theft going on at my expense but refused to speak to anyone outside this store or installation service department. We have found Lowe's to be more expensive than Home Depot and that the staff is less helpful when we have questions. I am not sure their knowledge is as broad as an Ace Hardware. I seem to bring projects to them that stump the staff consistently. I usually have to figure out the solution on my own. The staff at this Lowe's have always been polite and professional and tell us when they don't have the answer I am looking for. That and the Veteran's discount will keep me coming back. read more

*** VERY UNCOMFORTABLE/UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE** A few months back I purchased a couple of pairs majesty palm trees that have lived indoors in my studio. a couple of days ago they died, so I brought them back for what was expected to be a quick exchange. I joined one of the two customer services lines. 1 of the 2 cashier that just finished with the customer directly in front of me invited me forward. after getting a good look at me, she changed her mind and mentioned the woman in the other line arrived to the store before me. All fine, but why invite me forward to then change your mind? When I finally get to the front the other cashier greets me, scans my receipt and mentions a system issue. He's trying really hard to help but he seems new to returns. He asks a more seasoned cashier for help. She then stares at me and tells him to look up the policy online. Minutes later he comes back and says again he can't process my return and something is going on in the system. We both site the website plant return policy. He asked for assistance from another cashier who also without any sort of direct verbal communication stare at me from afar frequently and repeatedly while they try to help him. While all of this this is happening next to me the cashier that changed her mind earlier helps a gentlemen exchange a shovel no problem with store credit. She helps many customers while periodically staring. After 10 minutes or so the cashier mentions that he isn't sure how to process the refund and again mentions the system is really strict to prevent any fraud or misuse of the return policy. At this point I've showed my receipt multiple times, offered to grab my exchange plants, and went outside to grab my wallet to provide ID as he mentioned I might need this. I'm still giving all 4 cashiers in the area the benefit of the doubt. I patiently continue to wait happy to comply with any Lowe's policy. The 2 cashiers try to fix the issue and periodically take breaks to turn around and stare at me not acknowledging my general existence. About 5 minutes later he come back with an answer. Surprise! it's the one on the website which says Lowe's will give full store credit so I can grab new plants and drive 20 minutes home. He asked me for my ID. I have multiple valid forms. I hand 1 of my 2 ID's. instead of asking for another, he then retreats or a bit to the 2 cashiers to ask an inaudible question about my ID. They continue to talk and staring still not speaking to me to directly. After a stare making me really uncomfortable, the gentlemen comes back to the register. I asked if there is there something wrong with my valid CA state ID provide my brand new MI state ID. I also mention I'm a new resident in MI and only provided my CA ID because it's the one he saw when I opened my wallet. Ironically Enough I was to prevent any "suspicion of fraud." Then one of the employees interjects and says that it's policy to only except state ID to try to smooth things over. All is fine with me until she decides to make an ridiculously insensitive joke about how I quote "probably have one ID from each state." I am an Young African American Man. I do pretty well for myself. No I'm not in Lowe's in formal attire, but neither is anyone else my shirt pants and shoes are all on my body appropriately. This is extremely unprofessional regardless if the statement had anything to do with how I look or not. I thought that was a given with our current times and it definitely doesn't help being stared at for a very long time prior to this "joke" I then take this in stride in person because I already feel uncomfortable and just want to go home. I then thank the guy and walk over to grab my plants. I'm spoken to by many nice CUSTOMERS all while being uncomfortable stared at by a group of different employees 2 of which nonverbally request I move out of the way while they move a pallet. All while staring me down. Thank you cashier @ aisle 11 did not make me uncomfortable while I left with trees I already paid for. The rest is UNACCEPTABLE Lowe's. I'm not sure if that was the intention of any of your employees and I'm sure they can be very polite people, but anyone reading this understands l no longer feel comfortable with EVER shopping here again. This place is okay for the stuff you need. I think if your walking around looking like you can't find something, you'll more than likely to be asked if you need help. I'm not a fan of the paint section. It's hard to figure out the line in most cases. I am the type to walk into a place and just stand there hoping they notice I am waiting patiently. If it looks like a line I will get into it. I'm not a fan of seeing the employee helping another customer butting into their convo and asking for the help I need when obviously there are others who are or waiting for help also. So I'm waiting over 12 mins no greeting no "I'll be w/you in a moment" no anything. But this man comes up waits about 2 minutes Of my now 14 minutes and employee looks at that guy to help next. Okay maybe she saw me maybe she didn't. I'm not going to try to argue that one. But in this case why couldn't she ask who is next instead of just doing it that way. That guy doesn't know how long I have been there waiting, but I look like the crazed one cause I was offended. With the overwhelmed look on her face I guess it was better I didn't get paint there that day. I had something else I was buying and when at the register to pay, the cashier I think sensed my uptightness asked how I was doing. I briefly mentioned the unorganized paint line, she apologized which she didn't have to. Made a call and a manager came over to okay 10% off my purchase. It's not about money but in this case how else does businesses show if they care. Offer a discount. I'll come again, just maybe not to the paint section if I think I have to ask questions. read more

Purchased a refrigerator in Sept 2016. It needed a service call and I had to call Frigidaire to do so. Did that and they told me that they do not have anyone in Grand Rapids to repair warranty work, so they will only replace it with a new one. That was December 2nd. Someone at either the Store or Frigidaire lost the order and had to expedite it today, December 16. It should have been replaced by December 7th, or I should have been contacted sharing any delay. The moral of the story is to purchase an expensive product from someone who can stand behind their sale without the customer needing to jump over barriers. I went into this store today, Sunday, March 22. Throughout the store were signs asking customers to keep 6 feet apart, especially when standing in the checkout line. Yet, when I checked out (at 4:02:28 according to the receipt), there was a gathering of young store employees socializing just a couple of feet from the checkout table. When my cashier asked one of them to help with an apparent problem with the card machine, a young man came up and brought his face within inches of the back of her head (she was probably in her 50s), and thus within a couple of feet of me, and began joking about what she wanted. Since Lowe's on the main arteries of Beltline and 28th St. has existed, is has been a pleasure coming in that store for years! Why? They have consistently treated my family in a long term relationship way. It started with basic home improvement supplies, expanded to Lowe's major appliances and Tile flooring installation. All good experiences over time. Now, it has become Seasonal supplies for the holidays. Steve, a super manager, guided me through and solved a major problem. If Lowe's employees are anything like him, this place will flourish. I purchased a grill online for store pickup. Online they offered free assembly with the purchase. When I picked up the item I was told assembly is done through a third party vendor and they were not doing that right now. I called customer service to see if they would do a partial refund to cover my time for something they offered to me during the purchase and didn't provide. I was told they could not offer me anything for a service that was included in my purchase. If you are expecting your purchase to be assembled by Lowe's, think again. Also, their curb side pickup is an unorganized mess. You are given no instructions on how to pick up your item. There is a severe disconnect with corporate Lowe's and their individual stores. I shop Lowe's on a regular basis but will certainly be giving Home Depot and our local hardware stores more business in the future. read more

I've had a Lowe's card since June of 2000...and I'm considering cutting it up. The service at the Kentwood store is atrocious...not the standard I've come to expect from this company. We moved here 4 months ago so I have been visiting frequently, and every department seems to be a train wreck. And it's not about COVID adjustments...it's the people. Very unfriendly and seemingly very unfamiliar with their job. Today I was told to be sure and clean the water tank from the carpet cleaner in order to avoid a charge. Upon returning it, a different person Andre, starts going through it with a whole different set of rules...this o ring is dirty...you need to clean under here...you'll need to take it home and hook a hose up to this... He was rude and dismissive. After going to a different area (this was customer service I was having the issue with) no one arrived for 10 minutes so I left. I got the run around today from corporate. I was supposed to be able to submit a rebate for a gallon of paint I purchased today. I had the option of choosing to mail it in or do it online. I chose the later. Their system wouldn't allow me to do it. I called and got a run around with different answers to the issue. I spoke with corporate and was told I could only mail it in because of their system not being updated. I didn't want to do this and waste a stamp but they gave me no other options, with no offer of anything extra for this "inconvenience". Complete waste of my time with more to come, I am returning my purchase and going to Home Depot. Don't give your business to these people. I normally shop at Lowes, but I just had a ridiculous experience with them today. I bought tiles from them yesterday, took them home and measured them, and found they needed to be cut. I called the store and said they would cut them as long as they were purchased in the store. So I drove 45 minutes to the store with tiles in hand. When I got to the store I stopped at the front desk and asked if I just needed to head back to the tile section of the store for cutting, and they said, "yup! They have it all back there." So I go back there, of course no body is around, so I po ush the call button. Someone comes to help and says, "sorry, we don't cut tiles anymore." So I went in and spoke to the manager they sent a third party over to quote the deck. No break down just a quote for $20,000. So I called Northville Lumber and got a quote and it was $5,000 in material (the same materials). This is all I have to say and I am putting the deck together this summer. Only $170 delivery fee. I live close by to this one so I find myself in there pretty frequently but would love so more help when I need it. I have literally spent more that 20 min trying to get someone to help me. Tonight I needed help getting a heavy item loaded in my car due to a recent back surgery. The cashier called a "Code 50" about 7 times requesting help. I watched as guys in red vests walked past, ignoring her, including one gentleman who appeared to be a manager. After 5-10 minutes I decided to try to load the item on my own. A 60 year old woman in the parking lot gave me a hand. Probably alerted by the cashier who was alarmed by my departure, the manager type guy came outside and stood at the exit of the store and watched us load the item. Seeing that I had help, he was back inside by the time I pulled away. I usually shop at the Kentwood Home Depot. Thought I would give Lowes a try tonight. read more

Lowe's told us the bath redo we wanted would take three weeks, it turned out to be a four month ordeal.This frustrating experience with Lowe's happened primarily because of delays with their new centralized system, poor communications between the Lowe's staff and contractors and between Lowe's and us, the customers, shoddy products that had to be returned numerous times, or products that were delivered incomplete and/or ordered incorrectly.On top of that Lowe's wants full payment up front before any work can be started on a project.Think twice before starting a home improvement project with Lowe's. read more
