Workers in store always willing to help but when go to check out the cashiers come up with every possible reason to not allow military discount. I always show my retired ID card and cashier either says they cannot accept it without a manager who is never available. Also been told the OD os not valid as the expiration date is indefinite. Really? So now cashiers knowledge of military IDs is taught? My wife's ID has been scrutinized and she has been asked if I am in the store to verify she can use her ID. If this is the way military members are treated go elsewhere, Tullahoma and Shelbyville are easy to show ID and always show their gratification for service. read more

This is one of those sometimes good other time not things . Bought a counter top and backsplash with installation was fantastic service and work . Then bought some light fixtures and to pay for the quoted service because of computer and coding problems too well over an hour . Service person was very cordial and apologetic but a very painful experience . It is so obvious that training on product and internal systems is very weak if exists at all . I've bought appliances, had home improvements done through them and also some electrical work and the folks that come out have always been great to work with. Spent over $1300 @Lowes today. When I had a question regarding updating my tax exempt form was treated very unprofessionally by assistant manger and was told to call their 800 number if I needed anything else. Now all returns, special orders and customer service customers have to be in the same line that extends out the door towards the parking lot. Got close to the register and two of the three reps at the three registers were on the phone. Apparently not only do they work the registers, but are also the operators answering the phones. Contacted corporate and all they had to say was that my concerns were noted. Shop local if you can. read more

I "checked in" at Lowe's only so I could remember to write this review. I go here because I can get to the location without having to cross, the always busy, Old Fort Parkway like I would to visit Home Depot. I will take the extra time from now on. It never fails that their selection doesn't seem to be as good, their prices seem higher, and there is NEVER enough people at the registers. Sure, if you need help, they have plenty of people walking around to do that, but when I have two items that I have to wait 15 minutes to purchase, I have wasted all that time I "saved" not going to Home Depot waiting in line. Now, Home Depot usually has the same number of registers open, BUT they also have the super-convenient self-checkout. This means little to no wait time anytime I'm there. Another big plus is that Home Depot lets you cut your trim to length and pay by the foot, so I don't have to pay for a 10' piece of siding when I only need 2' for my project. In the last 12mons we have bought a new washer, dryer, oven, and dishwasher from Lowe's. For the last month, our dryer that we bought in February has not been working, despite having service calls on it. At Lowe's today we asked how they can help us or if we can swap it out. Usually I would give 5 stars but not now. This is (was?) our fav hardware store. Recently we bought 2 Gallons of blue paint, looked normal. Tilted over in back of my suv, 1 gallon was on a mattress which made it tilt. One whole gallon of paint all over the back end of my car. The other gallon spilled in a wading pool I had just bought. This should not happen! Normally you have to work at getting the lids off. Contacted the store manager who was very nice and said that the manager the next day would call me and let me know what the procedure is for getting my car cleaned. Was told that night that I would need an estimate on the cleaning. Next day - no call. I still needed paint & believed the store would make good on the cleaning. I received replacement paint with no problem. Still nothing about the cleaning. I went and got an estimate on the cleaning. Took it in tonight (STILL NO PHONE CALL) and was finally told that I should have gotten 3 estimates and also that it is not their responsibility once it leaves the store! I was only offered less than half of the estimate to get my car cleaned. By the way the estimate was for $350 which was very good considering the amount of damage to my car! I was given less than half of that. If we EVER get paint here again we will be turning the cans upside down on their counter to make sure the lid is secure. But for now at least it looks like another store will be getting our business. read more

Service is up and down at this location in Murfreesboro. I've spent a lot of money there lately on wood products. I accept the increase in prices but service is lacking in the lumber area. I like that I am able to pick my own wood as consistent quality wood is hit/miss. Had $250 plus of several wood sizes in my carts. Needed picket fence wood stacked outside and kept secure under a super sack of sand. Employees assigned as loaders disappeared. Went to the pro desk twice to ask for help. They paged 2nd time I asked. Finally found someone and they directed me to a broken picked through pile inside. Price was marked wrong on the storage shelves for this product. Frustrated, I proceeded to the checkout to purchase what I had already spent my time to load on two carts. Lines in the contractor area were 8 deep with one cash register clerk very busy. He was doing his best but this area needs help and more loader positions assigned to this area. Frustrated at this and 2 previous visits to this store, I left and went to Home Depot where I was greeted several times by employees wanting to assist. Ordered flooring and gotnit scheduled to be installed. They use a company called Service Pros for installs. (Worse than Lowes) First they scheduled the flooring to be delivered and no one showed up. We called (not them calling us) and were told the flooring was at a different store and would be delivered on friday. (2 days off work now) Then Service Pros came on monday and installed the carpet. On tuesday to install the linoleum. (2 more days) Well the carpet guys couldn't finish the floor until after the linoleum guys finished. Not sure why they didn't schedule the linoleum first if that was the case. We called Service Pros about finishing the floor. Got the run around for 3 weeks. Finally got an appointment for them to come out on Monday from 10am-12 pm.(1 day off work) No one showed and no phone call. Called every number we had and could find. A manager named Ben called us saying he was going to handle it. Got another appointment for Wednesday 3-5pm. (1/2 day off work.No one showed. Called again. Finally got a call from someone (5:40pm) saying it would be another 45min but the tech would be here. 4 1/2 days off work just to get 500-600sq finished. DO NOT use Lowe's or Service Pros for any floor install. The customer service was horrible from both of them. It has been a month since they came to install and currently they still haven't finished it. Save your self the time and use a local flooring company. read more

We ordered an exterior back door and a storm door with installation fees. Well we had to wait 2 weeks for the storm door to come in which is normally. Storm door came in and then we had to wait another 2 week for installation. Well the day my doors were to be installed the installer text and told us the door was damaged. Mind you it was not the storm door. It was the door the carry in stock. Instead of asking someone for another they just left. I call Lowe's talked with 5 different people about the issue. My husband went to the store and was told the door was not damaged. The installers call my husband 3 days later and tried to scheduled us out another 3 weeks. My husband told him no thanks we will go with someone else. Now my husband went to pick up our doors today and they will not give them to him. Only regional managers can only approve refunds. Mind you I only need a refund for the installation fee. Lowe's has lost my business and I will encourage all my family which by the way is the Jones's and Buchanan's. That is a lot of business. They didnt even bother trying to make it right. Nothing at all. Lowe's sucks and we will not be back. read more

MANAGEMENT AND CORPORATE NEED TO REVIEW!!! I recently moved to Tennessee from another state. Landed in beautiful Murfreesboro Tennessee! Where I was from I preferred Lowe's over Home Depot because of difference in Customer service! Lowe's was light years ahead of Home Depot. Well the roles are reversed here. I've went to Lowe's about 10 times. I made big purchases because we are renovating our house. Not once did a rep ask if I needed help. And I was in the store on average between 45 mins to an hour. The straw that broke the camels back was when I sent my wife to get two five gallon paint buckets. Pushing the "customer assistance needed at the paint counter" button took 20 mins for someone to help. Then they made her, well another customer, get the paint out of the isle and bring it to the counter. I will definitely not be going back to this place!! Very disappointed with the service every time I have gone in. I know Lowe's doesn't need my money but I've worked hard for it so it will not be going there any more. read more

I agree with the previous post about their customer service desk in Murfreesboro. They obviously need more training. I wasn't exactly sure whom I needed to talk with about a previous installation issue so I started with the customer service desk and I use that term lightly. When I asked my question, the desk lady said "I don't know what your are talking about" and made NO effort to find out and I was dismissed. Made a complaint to the store manager but we will see what comes of that! read more

This is the absolute worst Lowe's I have ever shopped with. In August I purchased a new house. Needed a refrigerator, washer and dryer, shower door and blinds. Those are all things I've purchased at Lowe's through the years. They installed my shower door and after months it still isn't right. Management at the store level and corporate have no answers as to why they can't get it installed correctly(this has been going on for months). Today I went to order cellular shades, over $200 for two windows. The associate assisted me with the order, placed the order, and was extremely helpful. Forty minutes later when I went to pay for them, they had NOT been ordered. Associates and managers, alike, do NOT know how to operate the system and I have yet to go in this store that it's a pleasant experience. Bought two basic table legs for a laundry sink, needed a simple chop saw or table saw cut to trim 1.5" off each cleanly. They don't have that service! A 20,000 square foot super store can't trim two small pieces of wood for customers. They actually told me to "try Home Depot." Believe me... I will. read more

Very helpful staff when shopping and or if you have issues with a certain product. The customers can be very helpful also when it comes to home projects and do not hesitate to share their knowledge. We went to purchase tiles for our kitchen; it was quite heavy, so we were going to have the contractor pick it up. The cashier to whom was spoke (the only polite employee there), directed us to the customer service desk. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes (behind one other customer), the customer service employee informed us, rather brusquely, that we would need to go to the flooring department first. So we trudged back across the store to the flooring department, but there was no one at the desk or anywhere in sight. We finally found an employee at another station who said she would call the flooring department employee. After waiting about five minutes, I called the flooring department from my cell. He informed me in a very rude tone that he was with a customer, so I'd just have to wait. This was a Monday night, by the way, not a high traffic time. read more

I did not know the flooring department closed before 10:00. I got to Lowe's about 9:20,track down a worker and ask for help in the flooring department. After a few minutes the same guy comes back and said everyone that works in flooring has gone home. Even tho there was someone at the help desk I saw when we were on our way out. So I ask him. So this means I can't buy linoleum tonight,he said I couldn't buy it tonight. I'd have to come back in the morning when they open.this is bad customer service. With all the workers I saw walking around. Someone had to know how to cut linoleum and put a part number on it. I bought carpet and linoleum few days before this and it looks like a simple process. Cut,wrap ,mark. Then we ask if he could price the piece we needed. He got the ladder. Got up there. With his hand scanned. Trying to figure it out. And he couldn't help us there either. I have been a lifetime Home Depot customer because I usually always get good customer service and the people who work there are kind. This is the Lowes experience I had. Our stove went out in our house so we had to get a new one. A buddy of mine from work handed me a Black Friday sales sheet from Lowes that showed a stove at a large discounted price with free delivery. I didn't know it was free delivery but I left my truck for my wife not knowing that. After getting the stove and I come home from work she asks me to unload it because they couldn't deliver for like two weeks. Gee thanks Lowes, I don't need a stove for two weeks, way to give me good customer service there. Going over the work order with my wife?.... no... didn't bother to tell her the warranty information or anything. It's cool I called the next day to get all of that. We come back the next day to get a simple stupid power cord. After asking for help on finding what we need we still we're in the store for thirty minutes. If I wasn't given a 100$ gift card and there wasn't a huge sale going on I would have never gone to Lowes. Way to blow your one chance at winning me over as a customer. read more

RE Lowes in Murfreesboro TN---I'm incredibly frustrated at the lack of customer service at this location!!!! Someone called me, presumably to give me an update regarding my refrigerator delivery but didn't bother to leave me a message. I then spent the next 20 minutes calling the store over and over without getting an answer. I tried customer service, delivery and appliances. Finally on the 5th call customer service answered and proceeded to transfer me to appliances. The phone just rang and then went to a busy signal so I had to call customer service back AGAIN! This time I asked for a manager. A very rude manager ( a man) answered. I say rude because he constantly interrupted me and wouldn't let me finish a single sentence. He then tells me the call was to tell me my delivery was going to be delayed until 9/28. I tried to explain to him that I'd been told my delivery would be either 9/27 or 10/2 and that I didn't consider 9/28 delayed but he once again interrupted me so I just hung up on him. First of all, answer your phones!!!! Second of all, leave a message when you call someone!!! Third of all, have an adult conversation and don't interrupt people!!! Well...bought a new door for our home. The installer was suppose to be at our home at 10am. Around 1:30 he arrived. The door was completed around 4pm. The installer failed to complete the job and advised we would need to finish the trim (painting). Nails were still sticking out of the trim and multiple holes in the trim with no wood putty or even an attempt to "do it right" the first time. We contacted the Lowes store several times, sent pictures and spoke with managers of the installation department. The manager of the installation department (Susan) came and agreed the installer did not complete the project. After a few weeks...a new installer was scheduled to come and "fix" the issues the previous installer failed to complete. We were told by another installation manager (Pamela) the installer would be out to our home by lunch time (11 or 12). Now it is 1:30 and nothing. The installer (Damon) called and advised he would be here at 2:00pm. No bueno. Rescheduled again for 5-5:30 for November 12. Door was originally installed on October 16...contacted two days later to advise them of the issues. Now almost a month later we "may" get this corrected. The contractor went to the incorrect address and now we are scheduled for November 17th. read more
