The associates working here doesn't know their own policy, but likes to be nosy. As I was walking in to CS the 2 Lowe's employees were nosy about other customer's business in the parking lot. I went inside CS with my receipt to return. Cashier said she couldn't look up transaction with bc it was purchased too long, 2 months ago. Policy said 90 days. Then she tried to throw other excuses and pretend like transaction couldn't be looked up. The couple that was in other's business earlier walked over to me and backed up the cashier saying "you have to return to original store to look up transaction with receipt".....both employees agreed that even w/ receipt u have to go back to original Lowe's bc only that Lowe's can see purchase n refund. Then the older male employee asked me "why u want to refund?" As if it's his business lol. Bunch of employees hovering over trying to be nosy and backing each other up without making sense. I have a receipt, I have my card. Like why aren't they able to look up when I provided them the receipt? I called CS and they said stores can look up 6 months of transaction, mine was only 2. Cashiers here are not trained and scanned the wrong barcode once then pretended to say only original store can look up purchases. Funniest thing I've heard. Great store to find all your home improvement items. However, I do not recommend the store to buy any items for delivery and /or installation services. Other stores will match price if you ask. If you can find someone to help, you will most likely be given bad information, put on extended hold or have to chase help around the store. If you purchase a product, appliance, door, pick it up and take it w ith you. Find your own installers. Lowe's needs to cancel the option for installation services. They should focus on the in store retail service/ online service and perfect it. I have used this location multiple times over a decade to buy items for installations. It is consistently a horrible experience. Most recently I ordered doors and after an almost a month it's been cancelled, refunded on a gift card and in the mail because a sales person put delivery charge vs install. They cancelled my order. I've had one too many bad experiences at this Lowe's. Costumer service is just plain bad. I've gotten booted out of aisles so they could close them while I'm clearing grabbing what I need. I've had issues with returns at this location as well. The pricing is also typically higher than Home Depot down the road on Bell but this is so much closer to the neighborhood it's a far more convenient drive. hermitage location customer service sucks - associate never advised 'not in stock' dumps over to another location again I was unaware until i get a call after missing 1/2 work that i won't be getting my delivery because they don't have a box truck this day. and I'm bumped to the next week! corporate office is worse - after 10 minutes of ringing phone gets answered and your cut off. talking with the 'robot' online failed - to assist in any way finally, after 8 days of my calling I'm finally informed that my ordered item it not in stock and eta is unknown. the associate in Murfreesboro was so sweet and helpful - he took the time to search for my ordered items and even offered a better priced item and indicated i would be entitled to an upgrade at no charge. The manager (Pattu) at Murfreesboro location cancelled my order and i received $0.00 sales receipts. not sure why and again crickets for answers - I guess that's one way to avoid any upgrade/deal offers. well, I won't ever go back to Lowe's for even a fly swatter. I wish I could give less than one star because there is no rating adequate to describe the nightmare I've had with Lowe's, specifically their delivery service. I'm well aware they use a third-party service for the actual delivery of items but the issue I've had is with THIS store. It is now the middle of June and I ordered an item in early February that was scheduled for delivery on Feb.19th. Not only did the item never arrive, but a wrong item was delivered in its place. They picked up the wrong item 3 days later and then redelivered it (the same open box, wrong item they previously picked up) two weeks later. I am still waiting on a refund for the item that they claimed was delivered. The store finally issued a store credit card and expected me to drive to their store to pick it up, which of course would do nothing to resolve the issue, as I'm still paying interest on the missing item. I have notes going for 5 months, including more than 40 hours worth of phone calls. I have spoken to the store and the corporate offices too many times to still be waiting for a resolution. I have never experienced a more inept and careless group of people. Very very disappointing. read more

As far as their delivery service goes, it was excellent. We had issues with a Home Depot driver refusing to deliver a refrigerator when they driver lied about delivering it. Lowes not only sold us the same refrigerator cheaper, they delivered it the next day (a Sunday even) took away the old one and installed the new in less than 30 minutes;. I haven't dealt with a store directly as we bought the refrigerator online but the delivery service gets an A plus from us. read more

I was returning an 8 foot oak banister rail. It was an extra one or four I purchased. It was unopened, in perfect condition. I didn't need a refund, just a store credit as I was buying other items. The service person at the counter told me I could not return it without proof of purchase. I told her I didn't need a refund for this item, that a store credit was sufficient, as I had other items to purchase. She told me she could not. I asked her to scan the item to confirm it was a Lowes item and she said she would not, because I did not have proof of purchase. I purchase a lot from Lowes. According to my American Express, I was there 22 times, spending $4672.18 in the last 4 months. Last year I spent $12,418 at that store as we were remodeling our house. I told the service person that I'm a good, repeat customer and the item being returned was in perfect condition, still in it's wrapping. She told me, "Yeah, we hear that all the time." I don't prefer being called a liar. It is humiliating. So I asked to see a manager. The manager came and told me there was nothing he could do. He suggested that I leave. I showed him the store credit for a few items returned last week and asked him what policy changed in the last week. He pointed to a sign and said, "The policy is written in plain english, if you want to be belligerent about it." I was not belligerent. I was displeased, however, I never raised my voice. I asked whether he had the ability to issue the credit. He said that he could, however, it was at his own discretion and that he would not. Then asked me to leave again. I said you know you're losing a really good customer. The manager said, "I am happy to lose you as a customer." That is what you get at this particular Lowes store. They'll call you a liar, treat you poorly, deny you a store credit, asked to leave, then insult you. Lowes - surely you train your people better than this? Look at the rating for this store. Went to get paint for our living room. Three employees were behind the counter. We stood there for approximately 6 minutes before we were even acknowledged. All three employees had looked directly at us as soon as we walked up. Yet they turned their backs and didn't ask us if we needed help. Finally, the male employee with the jacket slung over his shoulder came over and asked what we needed. Once we told him what we needed, another couple walked up. The other male employee with the white sleeve shirt and the female employee looked at them and once again turned their backs! I stayed there waiting for our paint to be finished mixing, which was about 10/15 minutes. That entire time, the other customers were never acknowledged, and the male and female employee were flirting and cutting up with each other. When the employee that had helped me brought my paint over, he attempted to hand it to the other customer. I told him that it was mine and that is when he finally asked the other couple if they also needed help. When we initially walked up, there were no other customers. We were the only ones. Then, whenever the other couple walked up, the other two employees were not assisting any customers. So the entire time we were at the paint counter, there were only us and another couple. There were three employees that could have at least acknowledged us immediately but chose not to. There were three employees that could have assisted us, but chose to not only stand there like we weren't there, but they chose to look at us and literally turn their backs to us just as this girl is doing in this picture. As a previous manager of several retail locations, if this had been one of my employees, I would have written them up on the spot. It is one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. It would have been different if they were busy. But even at that, most people would at least acknowledge you and let you know that they are aware you're there and that they will be with you as soon as possible. But they weren't busy, and they not only chose not to acknowledge us but to turn their backs to us. UNACCEPTABLE. Lowe's. DO BETTER. read more

I'm usually a fan of Lowe's. I've visited their store countless times. This is the 2nd home I've improved. I would not recommend using Lowe's for your flooring project. The entire process was a complete let down. Starting with the young kid who visited my home to measure for my flooring project. I had explained to hiim that I had removed 4 different types of floor material and had requested to replace the subfloor. This kid was nice, professional but inexperienced. Let's move on to the install. . My order included new trim and corner round. The installed asked me 2-3 times why I wanted to install the corner round since the floor would be hidden by the trim. I said yes, repeatedly. Why he even ask? It was included in the order. I had to point out mis aligned corners, missing trim under the cabinets, etc. I also had new trim and corner round for the laundry room and he basically said he couldn't replace the old trim in my laundry room. ? Why - I'll never know. I reported my experience to many of the folks with Lowe's service channel and my complaint has been ignored. So I'm here to share with you. Employees act like they just want you to leave. Went in looking for a type of gelled fuel like in a can of Sterno and they said they didn't have what I was looking for or even anything close. I asked where any kind of barbecue area was and two employees didn't know then never helped me figure it out and just started looking up what I needed. After saying they had nothing, they directed me somewhere else, but three days later at the same Lowe's, I walked passed three or four different options while looking for something completely different. I purchased a new refrigerator with free installation. They were unable to install the refrigerator because they forgot a part they needed then told me it would be at least a week before they could get someone back out to complete the job. So my new refrigerator isn't hooked up and is sitting in the middle of my kitchen, I called the manager at Lowe's to discuss the issue. He informed me that he did not need me as a customer and that if I wanted it done faster maybe I should call Angie's list. Needless to say I will not be doing business with Lowe's anymore. I made an order for on-line pick-up. A space heater. I arrived 7 hours later on a Sunday night. It was not busy in the store. Waited 15mins to speak with customer service to tell them I had a pickup. The order was not ready. She called someone to go pull it. Waited 20 minutes. After she got done with other customers, she called again to check on the order. She looks it up on the computer and tells me, "There are 5 in the store, we're just having trouble finding them." 5 minutes later, she says "we don't have them in the store, would you like to pick out another one?" Disappointed, I walked to aisle 23, and spotted the heater I had ordered for in-store pickup on the top rack, and the item number matched. I went back to customer service, told them to get someone with a lift or ladder. They called, someone came and got it. Didn't even offer to walk it to the front for me. The customer service rep was obviously embarrassed. But the apology was weak. And there was no offer in consideration of my time and patience. Plain incompetence. You might as well expect to be in the store for over an hour to get assistance, and when you get someone, they tell you you need to come back when the employee who placed your order is in. Update - placed order and picked up. When installer got to my house, pieces from the order were missing. The store associate guarantees it would be picked up and installed the next day. There's a racist name Patti working at appliance. I was in line with a caucasian man at the same time so he told me to go in front of him while she assisted another customer. And when they were done, She looked at the man behind me, totally ignored that I was in line first and ask if she could help him. So the man behind me told Patti that I could go first and she said " I'm going by the order who was here first" So he told her again that it was fine, she (me) can go first. And she REFUSED to help me lol. Going back and forward arguing and still won't let help me. This whole time she was talking to this man behind me like I wasn't even in the room. So I went shopping for a washer dryer set on Tuesday. I did online searches. Research products and reviews. Had a good experience with LG products so I used that as a starting point. After numerous phone calls I went to Lowes. (At this store noted here) I found a pair of machines and pricing along with delivery etc. I even shot a picture with my phone of the washer and dryer with their prices to show my wife to get her input. 2 days later after more research I went back to this same store and found Lowes had raised the price $95.00 on each appliance. I understand supply and demand and the fact all this product is floating in L A bay in California unable to get off container ships blah, blah, blah, ya dah, yah dah on and on. But that's just. . .gouging. I never really shopped at Lowes before due to the fact the exact same product, same line, same manufacturer can be found at other outlets at a different and better price. This Lowe's sold us a Craftsman weed eater but when we brought it home it had a used TroyBilt in the box, they don't even sell that brand. I stop by about once a week and they will restock new plants but workers aren't taking care of the indoor plants. they are always dehydrated and need watering. I don't want to pay full price for dropping plants. I literally go to home depot a little further down for this reason. That said, if you're ordering an appliance or anything not available in-store, I'd recommend trying somewhere else. While Lowe's did a good job roofing my house, the sales rep ripped me off in reimbursing me for unused material. 1st he asked whether I wanted to get credited for unused material as if there was a question. Finally, I had to pay extra to have a complete underlayment of plywood. The original sheets of plywood I already paid a premium for, he wouldn't reimburse me fully for it. I made no less than six calls to him to reconcile this and he ignored my pleas for honesty. I was cheated several hundred dollars in the end. read more
