While it would be nice to see the occasional toilet tissue or paper towel dispenser fixed and the lighting could be a bit brighter in some areas, those are minor compared to the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the store. What really stands out is the staff. Every employee I've encountered has been genuinely happy and pleasant. They consistently greet customers with a cheerful "good morning" or "good afternoon," which makes shopping here a more positive experience. Wow. Incredible. Incredibly POOR service. This was the third time at this Lowe's (trying to give it a few chances as it is my local Lowe's). But three strikes and you're out. The management at this store obviously doesn't care about customer service or else they would actually HIRE employees to serve customers. This visit we waited 30 minutes in appliances and kitchen design for anyone to show up. We went to the front three times to ask for help. They paged someone to help us and no one showed up. We walked up and down aisles 1-10 and 28-34 looking for anyone and there was no one. Terrible terrible customer service. We were going to spend $1800 on a bath vanity and a kitchen appliance. No way. We will give our business to someone else. 5 other customers walked up to appliances in 35 minutes while we waited and all 5 walked away. read more

We recently had a fence installed by a Lowes contractor. It took over for months to have this done from the time that a Lowes representative came to our home for a consultation to the time that the fence was installed. The person who delivered the wood said that he would not be able to get the wood on to our lawn and that the only place that he could leave it was on the parking space in front of our lawn. The wrong type of wood was delivered and the wrong style fence was installed. Several of the pieces of wood were warped, and had cracks on them. The lock gate lock was crooked and the fence was uneven. My husband had to call Lowes six times before we were able to have the contractor come back to re-do the fence. Now on the new fence, one of the beams has a crack on it, the gate does not close well and there is mold on several wood planks. When I asked the contractor about the mold he said " the wood comes from Lowes. It was probably sitting outside. That will wash away when it rains." Needless to say that it did not wash away. We have given Lowes all of our business and are extremely dissatisfied with the way that this situation was handled and with the quality of the work and materials that we received. This is our second bad experience with Lowes. There will not be a third. read more

Best to go during the week when there seems to be deeper trades experienced employees to help. Had a fence installed not pleased with the 11 inch gaps under my fence, the whole process was horrible this Lowe's has poor customer service, they assign you a project coordinator. There were many employees who assisted me in locating my items, checking in the storeroom for items and loading large items into my car. If you are looking for a nonchalant, rude, unprofessional, disastrous experience with buying an appliance, this is your store! After 10 days, 3 delivery dates, and numerous follow-up unproductive telephone calls, we still didn't receive our appliance. Lowe's is aware of their third party vendor that they use for deliveries as being "crappy" but they still use them. When we discussed our issues about the delivery team (who at one point called and stated that they were 15 minutes away, only to call back 30 minutes later and say that they were stopped by the cops and our item was being confiscated and for us to call the store about our product) with the manager, we were told "sorry you came into the store though it was nice to meet you , but this isn't our fault, XPO Logistics needs to compensate and do something about this." It was as if we hired the third party vendor ourselves and we were responsible for our item not making its way to our home. Terrible experience and rude management. It seems as if they have so many other sales that your one sale doesn't mean anything to their store. The moment I got to the pickup counter everything went wrong - Bad attitude, unhelpful, didn't want to be bothered, purposely made things as difficult as possible. Gave me the run around, having to go to multiple stops to get my order. After all that my order still was missing items, unbelievable. Really aggravated at this point due to the incompetence and bad attitude by frankly the entire crew at the service counter. There were 3 black girls two older and one younger one and one just as incompetent white girl who was just as bad. I don't know how this location survives with those geniuses running off customers. It's a pretty good Lowe's if you ask me. A lot of parking, a decent selection, and friendly employees. And for some reason Lowe's seems to lack the sketchy crowd that seems to perpetually roam the Home Depot parking lot down the street, so that is a big plus. read more

This Lowe's is off US-13 N. Dupont Highway, near the DMV. Parking never seems to be a problem here because they have their own parking lot and this parking lot seems to be bigger than they ever need. I've been to both Home Depot and Lowe's in New Castle and I have to say that of the two, Home Depot has a greater selection of items. However, Lowe's itself has quite a selection of hardware and their prices are competitive. They have clearance items mingled with regular items so shop thoroughly. I usually love Lowes. I ordered a Weber grill from this store and customer service was terrible. The guys delivered the grill to the backyard patio but never bothered to ring the doorbell or otherwise let us know. They just dropped off a $800 grill and left. Then we noticed that their truck must have ran into a low hanging limb on our tree and the limb was dangling over the gutter. I tried to call the store to report the damage but although the operator transferred me to a manager 3 times no one ever picked up. I finally called the toll free customer service number who said someone would contact us in 24 hrs. Someone did call, got the info and said they would get back to us. That was 2 days ago and nothing. So I just finished reviewing their delivery company but as of now I will never be making a purchase from Lowe's again. Their choice in delivery companies is terrible. I have spent two days waiting for a delivery that I will be canceling and demanding reimbursement for work time missed and the inconvenience of rearranging my whole schedule for a washing machine that I must now order from Home Depot. I hate this place, but it is the closest hardware store by me. The people there are useless, pretty much stand around and talk to each other, but then get mad if you interrupt them. There is this one old lady that yells at you at the check out by the contractor registers. And every time I'm there it seems like a customer is arguing with an employee and asking for the manager--it's entertaining, but annoying at the same time. Usually, I am very happy with Lowe's, which is why I went to them seeking a professional measuring service for my kitchen renovation. I had used them about 4 years ago, when I was considering just new flooring. I paid 99.00 for the measure. I ended up putting off the flooring job however. I returned last week because I'd decided that it was time for a kitchen overhaul. I was disappointed to find that they would not provide the service unless I was purchasing from AND installing using Lowe's professionals. Purchasing AND installing? I thought Lowe's was a supporter of DIY projects. The job would definitely have been a self install, but it was possible that I was going to purchase cabinets and countertops from Lowes. Those items alone are significant purchases.
