Usually, I can't find anyone to assist me at Home Depot or they just point say, "over there" and continue stocking shelves. Not L'Ron Who works at the Miller Road in Wilmington store. He walked me to the correct aisle to find what I need and even gave me a vendor from his contacts in his phone to help mount my TV on the wall. He is a stellar employee who wants to be of service, and that is the only way to be in life. Helping others who need help is what the world needs more of. I had a not-so-great experience with an associate named Renee the last time I was in the store. She was pushy, rude, and acted like I didn't understand how to pay for items. She actually wouldn't give me back an item that I asked to hold instead of put in my cart because I hadn't paid yet. When I asked if a certain discount came off of an item, she said "I don't know!" And tapped the card machine as though I was just supposed to pay for the items. I actually removed my card and asked her again so that I could understand if everything had worked out properly. Thankfully, prior to my interaction with Renee, the two associates at the paint counter were wonderful! They were speedy, friendly, and super helpful. Even after asking a million different questions, both workers were understanding and helped me pick out perfect colors for my Dining room. read more

Key machine was hidden behind a giant floor display of cards and there's no signage for price. The employee I asked for help was condescending and said he'd "be right back" and walked away, so luckily another employee passing by helped me get copies made. The machine is open as if it's do-it-yourself, but as the first employee said with heaps of attitude: it's not. Then, all their working registers this morning are self-scan which is a capitalist nightmare. Obviously so they could only have to pay one employee to watch customers ring up their own stuff rather than 6 employees to ring up items as per their job. Self checkout should honestly come with a discount. So - rude employees who don't interact or interact poorly, product I needed that didn't have pricing signage or instructions on how to get staff help and had to ring myself out. Probably worst Depot experience yet. read more

Being a former Home Depot employee I am always curious how staff will interact with me whenever I visit. This Home Depot is only minutes from my home. It is one of the smaller more quiet ones. I always find ample employees on the floor but they never go out of their way to greet you. They have certainly been friendly and helpful when asked though. Having been trained at a Home Depot that was much larger and very busy we were much more aggressive in approaching customers and greeting everyone we saw. However, experiencing these differences I really think it has to do with the clientele and the culture of each store. This Depot is in a tucked away residential area hence the low key vibe. The one I worked at is in a busy strip mall right off of 95. They are getting customers from PA to NJ so the atmosphere there is very different. With that said I like this one and will continue to shop there for my home goods. As for that other location for now I stay away. read more

I have mixed reviews at this store. I always have great service from the garden center and the customer service desk. They are ALWAYS pleasant and helpful. I recently ordered cabinets doors and on the first order 4 of 8 were the wrong size. So I had to take them back and wait again. 2nd order when I picked up my order multiples boxes were missing. When I got all the boxes after 2 trips multiple items were the wrong size and other things I received were not mine. So back to the store to return the wrong items and wait again. Pictures were provided and measurements were given so there was no reason for this. We installed everything and they are beautiful but we had to make alterations for walls and trim to make it all fit. read more

This store is a hot mess! Inventory is strewn all up and down the aisles so you can't find what you need. I have literally had to climb over pallets and boxes to grab stuff off the shelves. I get so angry I almost hope I fall so I can legit threaten to sue (I wouldn't). The individual bins to find smaller things like plumbing or electrical fittings are so mixed up because no one maintains anything in this store. Aisles are left often gated because workers are too lazy to collapse them when done. The place is so close to home and I go to the Brandywine instead whenever possible. I only go here when I need something real quick. I've given up!!!!! read more

This place sucks. Asked for help as I had to load up 2000 lbs of bagged concrete. I was told by their obviously useless manager that they would "call someone". Im on the clock so I proceeded to load up all of the concrete by myself, waited in line, paid for it, took it out to my truck, and loaded all of it up by myself. Took me about 20 mins. Never saw another worker. The manager I talked to was still sitting on his ass when I was done and went back in to complain. read more

We had a wonderful experience at this location today. A few members of the staff were particularly helpful, professional, and polite. They truly went above and beyond to help my wife and me with a fairly large purchase. First, George immediately aided in our decision on which lawn mower to purchase (Honda HRR216VKA). Once we had that choice made, we proceeded to do the rest of our shopping. When it came time to check out, George was easy to find and he brought our mower up to the front. At that point, we had some questions about a coupon and Chandra at the Customer Service desk couldn't have been more professional and accommodating. Once the purchase was complete, George and Tevin were incredibly helpful in loading our items into the car. We did not have a truck or SUV, so fitting a lawn mower AND a toilet into a Mitsubishi Galant was no easy task. They never complained during the laborious process and even unboxed our mower in order to fit it in the trunk. When everything was loaded up, they disposed of the box and George cut out the UPC in case we needed it for the warranty registration. Right before we left, I offered both George and Tevin a tip, which I have never done at any retail location in the past, but they refused. They simply shook my hand and told me to have a great day. I hope either the store manager, or a district manager, sees this review, as George, Tevin, and Chandra certainly deserve some praise and hopefully a raise. If all Home Depot employees were as helpful and nice as they were, I would never shop at one of their competitors again. read more

I stopped in to get a swiffer wet jet but couldn't find it. There was a very nice older gentleman who not only led me to where it was but made pleasant conversation and gave me a few tips on how to use it and what products to use. It was a brief but informative encounter. The store was very clean and there were an ample amount of associates on the floor just in case you needed assistance with anything. I hate hardware stores but if I happen to need anything in the future I'll be coming back here! read more

Normally I avoid chains like they're the corporate thought bondage they are....this one is different. The folks that work there are uber friendly, and really are what service is all about - not in your face, but friendly, informed, out to help you solve a problem or get you thru quicker. well, the paint department sometimes misses that mark, but other times it is spot on. This seems to be a hard one for any big-box hardware anyway. I'm not so impressed with the larger Depots that are out there, because I miss the people from Wilmington. read more

I tend to frequent this store since it is closer to my home and carries a majority of what I need. The service and inventory here has been very good. Heck I can even get shrubs and plants here which I have had success in growing. I can normally find what I am looking for unless it is something not mainstream. For example, while replacing an older screen door one of the brackets broke and I needed to replace it. Home Depot has a limited selection of parts which cover what they sell. I had to go to a smaller hardware store to get what I needed. This is another one of those dangerous stores that have you walking out with items you dont need. I ordered two products from this store. One was a normal online order that would be available for pick-up in the store while the other was a very expensive special order purchased in store. For both orders, I was told that I would be contacted via text/e-mail or phone when the item was available for pick-up or shipping. For the first item, I decided to call about a week after it was supposed to arrive to inquire - only to find out it had been sitting at the store ready for pick-up all along. For the second item, I had to call SEVERAL times as I was transferred multiple times/hung up on, etc. When I finally got someone nice on the line, I explained how I had been transferred a ton and just wanted a simple answer as to if there was a window of time to expect my special order item in (i.e. 1 week or 12 weeks) to which he responded that the item was READY to be delivered and I could just pick a date that worked best for me! Had I not called SEVERAL times and fought to get someone to give me a window of time, the expensive special order would have sat there indefinitely as Home Depot made no effort to contact me (as my contract stated they would) AND also made it extremely difficult for me to talk to anyone who would assist in the tracking of it. I will never go to this store again - much better off with Lowes or any boutique home improvement store that provides actual customer service! read more

Many people don't even know there is a Home Depot hidden back in the city of Wilmington on Miller Rd and it is BY FAR the best location in the Delmarva region. Every time I go here, I meet te friendliest most helpful employees bursting with personality. I often shop with my toddler which can be stressful but the staff here are always so helpful and they also help me keep my daughter happy by speaking with her and asking her questions. Today I have a traumatic experience that turned into a miracle when I lost my iPhone. ALL THE STAFF at every level jumped in to help me find my phone and one girl even let me use her iPhone to locate my iPhone. Turned out that I'd dropped it in the parking lot and the fellow customer was on his way to meet my "Mom" in the city to return my phone. I can't say enough about how GRATEFUL I am to this staff for not only helping me with home improvement projects as part of my design business but also showing a great deal of problem solving skills, compassion and empathy during today's event. Rented a wet/dry vac. Took out 7:36pm Sat night. Returned literally 10 minutes after I started it for first time at 11:45 am. Ran but suction so bad it wouldn't pick up anything, much less the basement grit I'd hoped to vacuum. Check in clerk wouldn't return money even though I told her it didn't work and needed to be retired. "Returns" had to get manager. Manager accused me of using and returning after 16 hours (c'mon, Saturday night/Sunday morning?). Home Depot has lost my business forever. read more

I cannot believe The Home Depot corporate office allows this to go on! First off, the store is very unkempt - from the front entrance all the way to the back. Second, the employee that tried to make a simple key. Three times, each time with three separate results. I ordered a vanity on line due to be delivered between 1/29 - 2/2. On 2/3 I called because it never showed up. I call again 2/5 then again 2/6. No one can tell me where the order is nor are they calling the shipping company to find out where it is, they keep telling me the shipping company is closed. No one from home depot will call the shipping company during their working hours. I keep hearing the same story but no one will follow up. They have my $1,000+ order and no sign of when the vanity will be delivered and they just don't care. read more

Had an issue with a delivery and couldn't get a straight answer from several people at this store - nor did anyone seem like they really wanted to help me- but an employee named Derek answered the phone at one point as my phone call was being pin-balled around the store and went above and beyond to make sure my call was taken and handled promptly. He walked away from his dept. to the managers office and was the only one willing to see that my issue was resolved.
