I needed some large pieces of lumber but could not fit it in my vehicle. I was told it was too thick to be cut by the saw they use. The manager ( whose name I cannot recall, I am terrible with names) offered to cut the wood with a handsaw. He cut it in no time and was polite all the while assisting other customers waiting. DO NOT order any building materials from this location. They always have to reschedule and the materials they send are all beat up and warped. You have to be available from 8am to 8pm, worse than a cable company. So you wait ALL day for the order and then at 5:30pm they tell you the order is "delayed". I live 10 minutes from this location!! When you call "customer service" you get someone who mumbles and can't speak English and takes forever to get an answer as to why the order was delayed. Guess what, there isn't a reason. We stopped by on a busy Saturday to look at some flooring. The flooring lady was friendly and very helpful. We got the information we needed, browsed around a little more, and left. The store was tidy. We were able to find what what we needed quickly. They had their Halloween decor out too, which was fun to browse at. If you're hungry, they have a hotdog stand outside as well. I ordered a microwave/oven built-in unit on March 4. it arrived at the store on March 20, which seemed to be a long time. I ordered professional installation and old unit haul away from Lowes when I bought it. The only contractor who works with Lowes scheduled installation for April 3. On April 3 the installer cancelled the installation and rescheduled for April 15th and offered no other option. That is completely unacceptable. I called Lowes and was told that that was the only installer they work with and that I would just have to wait. I contacted Angi's List and was referred to a qualified installer who is able to do it anytime I want. Between the slow delivery by Lowes and the terrible service capabilities of their installer, I recommend dealing with some other store. Lowes used to be my first choice but isn't even on my list any longer. Their customer service standards have really slipped. read more

If only I could give zero stars because 1 star seems too generous. I came into store today excited to purchase a smoker for my boyfriend's birthday which is in 5 days. I picked out the one I think he would love after talking with a few friendly customers and getting great insight. I find a store associate to help me. The associate takes the order number to the cashier so that I can purchase and schedule assembly and delivery. After I was charged and paid $590, I quickly reviewed the receipt and realized they charged me for the wrong smoker. I immediately (less than 5 minutes) go back to the cashier to have her correct the mistake. Only to have them tell me that they can give me a refund but it will take 10-15 days before my money ($590) is back in my account. And if I wanted the correct smoker and would need to pay another $500 to have it in time for my boyfriend's birthday. This is totally unacceptable. For lack of a better word "why should they make their ignorance, my inconvenience"? Word to the wise, make sure you check what you are being charged for thoroughly before you pay. This store does not mind inconveniencing the customer. I spoke with the assistant store manager, Joseph and he provided no solution at all. Avoid Lowe's at all cost for power tools/equipment. bought a 555 husqvarna chainsaw and it won't crank. within 24 hrs of purchasing it I went to simply exchange it, not money hunting, and absolutely zero assistance. they directed me to the OEM to do all of the leg work, yet I bought it from Lowe's. The saw has less than 10 minutes of run time on it, yet they're happy to take my $800 for it and give no assistance. Our household spends over $25,000 annually at our local store, but not any longer. I went there to buy unfinished kitchen cabinets. No one came to ask me even after seeing me searching for my needs at the unfinished cabinet section. I asked more than four employees for help; no one came to help. I met the lady in the kitchen department. She asked me to make an appointement the next day to help me to choose the ready made unfinished kitchen cabinets.Then I went to the front desk for assistance. Though they announce no one turned up. Again I approached another employee for help; He went to the home appliance dept and informed me that the sales person will come to help me once he finished helping another customer. I waited for more than 35 minutes and no one came. I WASTED ALMOST 1.5 HRS, waiting for assistance. In the mentime I had to vist the toilet; its condition made tp me run away. I hate to give this store a bad rating because in the past I've had very good service. However, recently purchased an electric fireplace which was to be delivered on Tues between 12:30 and 4:30. When no truck in sight by 4:30 called the general number and discovered that, due to incorrect assembly, the item did not make the truck. This was known in the morning. Through laziness or ignorance no one called me to advise this. As a result, I lost an afternoon's work pay unnecessarily. In addition, no one thought to remove this from their frequently- touted tracker, so as I followed the process during the day, all I saw was a slow process to delivery. I finally was able to speak to an agent who tracked down the problem and told me delivery would be made on Thurs. When I told her of the time I would not be available she said "it would be hard to fit this into our schedule." When the mistake is the store's to begin with, it is not good customer service to put the blame on the customer. Trying to reach general manager is impossible. However, he NEEDS to know some of his employees require another lesson in good customer service. (Kudos, however, to whoever caught the error in assembling.) read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered a Samsung fridge and it was delivered. There was an issue with the plug tripping the switch. I had a contractor working on a project in my garage and called him up to look at it. We were chatting about it and afterward, he went back to the garage. The Spanish delivery guys were talking to each other in Spanish and one said. "Maricon". I know enough of the language to know what this means. This is a derogatory word that is completely unacceptable for people to be using when delivering an expensive item purchased. It didn't even apply but I let the delivery guy know that was my contractor. I am sure he figured out I understood what he said. There is allegedly a case on this although I have not had the consideration to receive a call back from this serious offense. These delivery drivers took off the plate of the water filter to fit in through the door, though turning the fridge in the door way would have solved the issue without hassle. The fridge didn't seem to be working properly. The control buttons on the inside were blinking and I got the run around from someone they called "That the fridge had to get cold first" before they controls would work. After they left, I decided to call Lowes to get the fridge exchanged out. The guys showed up the next day to pick up the fridge and deliver the new one. They wanted to see what was going on and they determined (despite not being electricians) that it was the socket and I needed to call an electrician. The fridge I had this second team move to my garage had no issue with this socket. So this team moved my fridge and instead of removing the doors, they took a shortcut and left the doors on, scratching up the molding of my doors. This second team took off the water filter plate to make sure the first team didn't damage the fridge, thus the breaker being tripped. I was going to keep the fridge despite all the disrespect, but when I went to use the water filter an hour later, I noticed the stream was coming out diagonal. I had ENOUGH!! I called to exchange this fridge as they denied the exchange and said this original fridge would be fine when the socket was replaced. After an hour, I thought NO, I am going to return this and get a refund. I called and told them that I wanted to cancel the exchange and have them pick up this defective fridge for a refund. For the next 3 days after the fridge was picked up and I was assured that a refund was being processed, they kept trying to deliver a new fridge to me. Then next day after the pick up and return, the day after that, and the day after that, despite the fact that I kept calling to let them know that I can canceled the return. The delivery department doesn't talk with other departments or if they do they don't do their job and just leave things as is in their system. I returned the fridge on the 1st and it was told to me that they processed the refund. Lowe's employee's have no problem lying to you to get you off the phone. After waiting days and days, I called to say that it has been past the 10 days. "Where is MY REFUND?" I had someone capable for the first time and although I was on the phone with her for about an hour, she got to the bottom of it and said that the refund for the water line ($14) was processed but the fridge funds had not been released. Now I have to wait an additional 7 to 10 days to have my funds released back in my account. Completely UNACCEPTABLE from being to end!! I won't be returning to Lowes, not even for a single screw or bolt. Badly done!! read more

We called and asked to speak to a manager and the manager said that they declined to take our call. We insisted, and she finally answered and was the rudest person we have ever dealt with. I called customer service at this location and was told card not present transactions could only be done at the customer service desk. So, I went to customer service. Assistant Manager (Riley who refused to give me a business card) started stating merchant card service "laws" when I asked to do a card not present transaction for an appliance purchase for a rental property on behalf of my wife who is traveling in Portugal. I had her credit card information - I even had photos of the card she texted me and she was able by phone. He said it was illegal to do a credit card transaction from a photo of the credit card. This is absolutely false. He then instructed me to leave after I replied that what he had said was bullshit. Card not present transactions are completely legal. In fact every online transaction in the world is card not present transaction. I love Lowe's hate but idiots like Riley who make excuses so they don't have to do work and lie about nonexistent laws. A few months ago while wrapping up my home renovations, instead of painting the old cabinet doors I had. I realized I'd much prefer a more modern cabinet door look instead of the budget builder rendition. I live approx. 2 mi. away from the Grove Barton location. In general, my shopping experience is amazing. I'm a small business owner and have an AMEX Lowe's card. I usually always have awesome customer service experiences. I renovated 2.5 bathrooms with products from this location. I purchased a Kohler Veil intelligent toilet online and picked it up from this location. I purchased my Samsung Family Hub refrigerator from this location. I purchased quite a few other items here as well. Unfortunately, when I went in to inquire about quote from cabinet doors.... what a nightmare. The woman was on the phone initially, I went around the show space to explore all of the options available. When the woman finished on the phone, I went back over to show her the doors I was interested in, her demeanor seemed as though she wanted me to go away ( perhaps she thought her JOB to provide customer service would be wasted on me). She begrudgingly arose from the desk and I showed her 2 options I wanted quotes for. She asked me how many doors I would be ordering, and when I gave her the answer..... she told me "it will be expensive". Lol, Lowe's GM of Grove Barton, when did "it will be expensive" become a quote? Hunni, with that nasty attitude.... I had to take myself & my coin somewhere else. Please have homegirl in training. Very poor customer service. I purchased some items that were not in stock on October 29th. I asked that they be shipped to the store so I could pick them up at my convenience. The clerk recommended that they be shipped to my home, as this was a free service. The items are bulky and since the items were to arrive on November 2nd, which is a Saturday, I would be home to receive them, so I agreed. I received a message in the evening of October 29 saying the shipment had changed and would arrive on October 30 between 12:30 and 4:30. I had to work fast to make arrangements to be available but was able to do so. I received a message at 3:00 pm telling me the shipment was delayed until tomorrow. This is unacceptable, as I now need to attempt to make arrangements to be available for four hours tomorrow. I called the store to let them know that they've now wasted eight hours of my time, and the store manager hung up on me. I should have gone to Home Depot or Menards. Lesson learned. read more

I understand that many businesses are having staffing problems. I try to be patient. Today, the Lowes on Barton Grove Rd finally got tome. I loaded a sheet of plywood in the cart and headed to the cutting station. I looked at the time, because it has taken some time in the past to get wood cut there. It was 3:30 PM. I paced back and forth, looking the aisles looking for a Lowes associated. No luck. At 3:40 PM I walked to the Pro desk and asked them to page someone. The did. I went back to the cutting station and continued my pacing. At 3:48 P I spotted an associate, and actually ran up the aisle before he could get away. I asked him for help. He called someone and told them. I thanked him and went back to the station and continued pacing. At 4:00 I started to look for an associate. I finally found one and asked him for help. He tried while I went back to my pacing. At 4:o5 I stuck my head out the backdoor and finally saw someone. He yelled over and asked me what I needed. I said I needed to get something cut. He responded, "Oh, he's on lunch break". At 4:10 I called the store's phone number. I was transferred on the line for an associate and waited ... and waited ... AND WAITED. No answer. Enough. I left and I will never return to this particular Lowes again. By the way, the button they used to have at the station so you could request someone has been removed. read more

I went here to Purchase a fridge, washer, and dryer for my new home. I wanted to purchase and pay that day, hoping for shipping and delivery within the next few days. When I went there around 2pm, there was one person working in the entire appliances sections and 5 customers. Once it was our turn, the employee asked if I knew what I wanted. When I explained I'd like some help choosing but did have interest in a particular fridge, he went to the back to see if it was available, and did not help me to consider or discuss any other options. I explained I also wanted a washer and dryer; however, he literally did nothing to help. He began ringing up the fridge and I explained a family member would need to call to Pay via phone. He tried to persuade me to pay in store right then, noting it could be gone when I had to return after work to continue shopping for a washer/dryer and purchase all three items. I did return later that night and the sale person was slightly more helpful, but ultimately did nothing to help me place an order from another store for the washer/dryer I wanted. He looked online and told me he thinks it's in chapel hill and that it would be best for me to order online. I asked him if he/we could order from that Lowe's and if I could pay for it with the fridge in store right then, he said that was not possible. I have never been in any store, including clothing or electronic stores, where that has occurred. The customer service situation when my family member called in to pay over the phone was also HORRIBLE. When the family member called, three times, no one answered. So I waited in the customer service line and asked them to call my family member directly. The woman who worked at customer service repeated all my family members credit card information aloud twice, with others in the customer service line. I purchased carpet from Lowe's last year and it was installed by their installer, Legacy Flooring. Later I saw a buckle in the carpet. Legacy Flooring came out and I was told that they could not stretch the carpet. I was informed by Legacy Flooring that I needed to purchase new carpet because they could not perform the service. I called Lowe's customer service and was again told that I needed new carpet. Later Lowe's told me to call Stainmaster, which was the manufacturer of the carpet. I called them and was told that Lowe's should not have told me to call them because the only reason to call them was if I was having issues with fabric in the carpet. I called Lowe's again and was told that I needed to purchase new carpet. I contacted another vendor (Carpet Pro Cleaners) and they looked at carpet. They came out, stretched the carpet and removed the buckle. Excellent service and I was very pleased with the outcome. All of this should have been done by the vendor that Lowe's used (Legacy Flooring). I paid for a product and I expect better customer service. I called and was given the run around. read more

I placed an order a month ago. 4 times Lowe's delivery guys didn't even show up and didn't tell me they would not come, so I spent DAYS sitting at home WAITING FOR NOBODY! Then one day apparently they showed up but didn't ring the bell or knock the door, just left a note they came... another time they came and I was in the middle of a meeting, so I asked them to wait 5 min but they turned around and left... I've been calling Lowe's every other day to reschedule the delivery and they keep placing me on an hour hold and then hang up on me without re-scheduling an appointment. I probably spent over 8 hrs/wk w no result! So now I have to drive to the store and talk to a person. Even when I do, they still don't deliver my appliances and tell me my appointment can't be found... I've been at the store at least 5-6 times and no results. Did I mention that I bought all 4 appliances over a month ago?! I used to work for Lowe's corporate in Mooresville, NC and decided to shop with them as I HAD a high opinion of them but not anymore.... I still didn't receive all of my appliances... The staff at this Lowe's have been helpful in guiding me in the right direction. The place is clean and easy to navigate. I love that they allow dogs to shop there! The cashiers are always friendly too. If you are going there to have a key made, have them make it for you at the paint counter instead of using the machine because it is cheaper if they make it for you. Speaking of the paint counter, I've been able to get tiny jars of paint for small projects around the house. I restored an antique wall hanging recently and was so excited that the paint only cost me $4. What a deal! read more

In a total of 58 minutes, calling back 4 TIMES in hopes of getting a reliable employee, I wasted in my life being transferred to incompetent employees and it was discovered that the manager was playing "hookie" and was NOWHERE to be found in the store AND although the Lowe's website stated they had 5 cans in stock, the employees were too lazy to get them from the back!!!! I needed a shed kit and other building materials delivered, and they only delivered piece by piece after delaying the scheduled delivery date several times and delivered damaged goods, to the point where I had to rent a truck and repurchase some of the materials myself. The cancellation of the rest of my order has been a nightmare and getting these folks on the phone has been a struggle. Lowes, Capital Blvd. Raleigh. really terrible service from everyone, the store, the delivery company and the product. bought a washer dryer, they had the wrong delivery address, even though I gave the salesperson my license with my address when he placed the order. called to correct the address, they said they couldn't correct it because delivery truck was already en route. delivery truck doesn't have real people that have phones or email? after an hour they managed to correct address. the two delivery guys were the only bright spot in this debacle. washer, dryer was damaged. never came off the truck. delivery guy spoke to Lowe's, Lowes said a replacement would be deilivered tomorrow. when I called the delivery number they had no record of the damaged unit or new delivery. also still had incorrect address. called and spoke to the Manager On Duty at the Lowes store, she said she could not send a new unit as they did not handle that! the store that took my $2000. unable to send a replacement. there is more, have spent over three hours on the phone today and still don't know when ( if) I'll get delivery. unbelievable, horrible service and the " manager on duty " was the rudest most condescending person . obviously working weekends does not agree with her. read more

The screw holes were already obviously done before. I didn't want to have to exchange it and there was nothing else wrong so I put it together and low and behold, the backing piece is missing. The communication was terrible and trying to call the store was impossible. Once the refrigerator was actually delivered, it was damaged. They did partially fix the door but forgot a couple of parts. NONE answered!!!! Numerous times I could hear the phone being picked up and immediately disconnected. Unbelievable waited two weeks for carpet measuring which I had to pay $35 for. Said would come between 1-5pm. 4 hour window to sit waiting. But they said they would definitely call at least 30 minutes ahead. At 3 I called store and got double talk Well window is til 5. At 4 I called and got same double talk. At 4:30 when they couldn't call 30 minutes ahead and be here by 5, I called again and was told rudely to just wait. At 445pm a woman calls and says she's coming but it'll be another hour or 5:45pm. That's not by 5! So, I sat in a vacant home from before 1pm and she finally arrived at 6pm. Then it took 3 more weeks for install, not at all the time frame sales person promised when selling the service. Total 5 weeks rather than claim that it would be 10 days. Told me they stock all carpet but then told me carpet had to be ordered. And sales lady isn't really the carpet sales person, she put a mans name on the paperwork. She said he's on commission and she is not, so she puts his name on sales paperwork. she does the sale and he gets the commission. BUT on the Very Positive Side: The installers are wonderful. Polite. Neat. Hardworking. Been here already 5 hours for just 3 rooms. Haven't taken a single break. No lunch. Nothing. Patient with my nervousness. Were here at 8:50am - 10 minutes before their appointment window of 9-11 am. They are a subcontractor for Lowe's, not actually Lowe's. They redeemed Lowe's. So my advice, don't believe a single thing the sales person at this Lowe's tells you about timing, but do get their installers. read more

Ordered online for curbside pickup on a Tuesday and told order was ready on Friday. Used app to notify I was leaving and what spot I was in when I arrived. Took 15 minutes waiting in the hot sun for them to come out. Got home and realized 2 items where missing. Tried calling store twice but phone rang about 15 - 20 times and no one answered. Tried again next morning the national main number and opted for them to call me back. They just transferred me to store. Was asked who helped me and I didn't know as I was in my car with trunk open. Was told 1 item was back ordered but then how could my order be ready for pickup? Stated whomever helped me would call back after their lunch break. Still waiting 2 hours later. Still need credit for missing item. No thanks, I'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Now that I'm a homeowner, I find myself in Lowe's for something nearly every month. The first month it was buying new light fixtures and some tools for mounting the TV. Then it was paint and wall repair items for the bathroom. There was also another visit for research on toilets and the specialized filters for my furnace. On each visit, I've been pleased with the customer service provided by the staff, the price range, and the quality or products. Special shoutouts to two staff: Jerry was really thorough and helpful when I researched toilets. I still haven't made a purchase and he didn't push me on that, but he provided a number of options, gave me lots of tips, and was very friendly. He also gave me some good tips to make affordable upgrades to my bathrooms. Loved, loved talking to him both as a customer service person, but also as a person! Judy works at the cash registers. Really bubbly lady. On two separate occasions I've approached her station with a smile upon my face. On one, I complimented her earrings and another I just smiled and asked how she was. Her energy is contagious. She came out from being the register to give me a hug on both occasions! Talk about a nice experience and walking out feeling like you were well-cared for. read more
