service is usually great but not always needed hence usually sense Lowes moved in to my town 20 plus years ago I switched over from that other orange store long story. almost all the older staff is spot on with their knowledge of Products and service if they're not sure they'll get help and your Younger, newer employees are also very helpful. Just not as much knowledge under their belt. I don't like the self check out because if I wanted to work there, I would've went and applied for a job. Very unhappy with the store's approach to COVID mitigation. Ordered two artificial palm trees for curbside pickup. Employee with mask below his nose delivered two boxes (out of four- we later found out). One of the boxes was damaged and the item inside it was chipped. To return the broken item we were forced to go into the store. A single employee handles returns, pickups, customer service. Long line snakes inside the store with hardly anyone wearing a mask (it's the state law). I asked an elderly employee about it and he said the store tells customers they are not enforcing the law. Hi. I have been a loyal and active customer at Lowe's for over 10 years and had a recent unfortunate and poor experience in their flooring section. I give plumbing a five star - however flooring was an arduous experience and one that I choose to give a lot of my time to with results all over the place and nothing that came to fruition. I have never been a lowes fan. That being said I went ahead and ordered a rooting hormone for curbside pickup because home depot was out. I pulled into the curbside pickup spot and called the number on the sign which also said to dial # and an extention number. So I did but it only rerouted me back to the original message. So after couple trys I just pressed 2 for customer service. Great, they are not answering the phone. So finally I was forced to go in. I asked the first person I saw and they told me I needed to stand in the line for customer service. This line was out the door and no one was practicing safe distancing (6 feet). I asked for a manager even though my name is not Karen. He finally showed up and when I explained my difficulties and that the phone part of curb side pick up wasn't working all he said was OK. He did go find my order and brought it to my car where he then informed me I didn't wait for an email saying I could pick up. I did wait 5 hours before going out and since I was out went by lowes to avoid an extra trip. OK, I've been using the same service at home depot and they have an actual person standing at the curbside parking who asks for your name and then goes and gets your order. Won't be shopping at the Lowe's Store in Redding again. Sunday morning (5/10/2020) my wife was verbally assaulted by the checkout clerk. Name calling is not only juvenile, unnecessary and rude, but also bad for business. Repeated calls to the manager on Sunday and Monday morning were left unanswered. Then called corporate on Monday, waited on hold for 40 minutes before able to make a complaint. Will update after satisfied with the complaint process. ZERO STARS! I paid for a brand new washer and dryer set but I received a used set. The washer has a huge dent in the front and it smells like stagnant water. The water does not drain out completely and just sits in the base of the drum. The dryer has touch-up paint everywhere! The delivery guys were great and they took pictures of everything and made notes of the stagnant water smell. (Now I know why someone returned them) They told me they were going to submit it to Lowe's and that I should hear back from customer service regarding a refund/exchange or a deduction in the cost. I never heard one word from them! When I go online to look at my orders to leave a complaint it shows I have zero orders purchased. I am on a very limited income so this was a huge purchase for me and now I am stuck with a used washer and dryer that do not work as good as a 25-year-old ones I replace them with. Bought a BBQ for $500 from Lowes with free delivery and set-up. I had to wait more than a week for the delivery (no problem) but when it arrived it was falling apart. Missing screws. They can sell tools but they can't use them. When I complained I was told to wait for the next delivery in a week. I just told them to refund my money. I'll get the same exact unit from Amazon with free delivery for the same price and out it together myself. I know how to use tools! And business owners wonder why we buy online. I'm dropping about three bills for a big landscape irrigation project, and so I'm in the irrigation supply aisle for about an hour loading up my cart with items. And I'm having trouble finding this or that -- for example, six inline valves for half-inch irrigation line. Where are the goddamned inline valves? I'm there for about an hour, and not once does anyone ask me if I'm finding what I'm looking for. For something like an hour. So the checker calls the Plumbing Department. I tell her the parts are from the Appliances Department, where the water heaters are located, not the Plumbing Department. She responds by turning her head and body away from me, like I'm bothering her. The rest of the conversation goes like this.... HER (to me): What is it? ME: It's a pressure release valve for a water heater. HER (to phone): It's some kinda valve. Pressure valve. ME: Water heater pressure release valve. It was with the water heaters. In that area. HER (to phone): Oh, and there's some kinda PVC pipe, too. ME: It's the downdrain pipe that attaches to the water heater pressure release valve. That attaches to a water heater. The valve and the pipe were in the Appliances Department, with the water heaters. Not in the Plumbing Department. HER (to phone): Yeah. No. Yeah. Yeah, he says it's not in the Plumbing Department. It was where we have the furnaces. ME: Water heaters. HER (to phone): He says it's not in the Plumbing Department. Yeah. Maybe it's in Gardening. He has a buncha gardening stuff.... Me: Not in Gardening. Not in Gardening. Appliances Department. This went on for another 5 or 10 glorious minutes -- 15 minutes to ring up the last two items -- 15 minutes that me and the people in line behind me will never get back. I could have walked to the other end of the huge store and exchanged the parts for ones with bar codes in one-fifth the time, easily. And I never did find the inline valves. read more

I'm flipping a house so I went to check out the deals to see if there was anything I liked better than at Home Depot where I primarily do my shopping. I was so disappointed in the customer service I received. No one was rude but no one wanted to help either. I walked around the store for a couple of hours and not one associate asked me how I was doing or if I needed help. When I finally decided on something there were none left on the shelf. I couldn't find an electrical associate anywhere so I had to have a cashier call them. After a while when no one came I had to track down another associate to call electrical again. Finally I got help. He was nice and helpful when he finally showed up. I like Home Depot way better. I would much rather shop at Lowe's, then Home Depot but the customer service is awful at Lowe's. You can never find someone if you need them, the shelves are regularly empty, but the backfill is up on risers, and you can't find anybody to help you get them down. It's a really frustrating to walk around the store looking for someone, and when you do, they tell you they can't help you it's not their department. The other issue is the amount of stock that's left in boxes piled everywhere so you can't get your carts through. The store is just generally a mess, not enough help in the store, and the shelves are not stocked frequently enough. read more

I am completely shocked at how terribly we were treated right now at this store. We waited for help in flooring and when we finally found an employee that actually made eye contact with us and asked for assistance he said one second.. and walked away. My husband asked if he'd just left and walked away without any help.. I said that can't be I'm sure he's probably calling someone over now...I was dead wrong. He was sitting in the department next to flooring talking to someone and didn't bother to acknowledge me. I excused myself for I interrupting and if we could get help in flooring that we just wanted to know if there was any stock other than what was currently on the floor since there was only 1 on the floor out of 12 to choose from. He said there was a button over there and push it. I said that I actually tried to locate it and and asked him where was it at over there. Another employee walked up and he mumbled to him and that guy just shrugged mumbled at him back and walked off. Then I was told that someone should be around in 5 minutes. I went back to flooring, told my husband and we immediately left. It saddens me terribly because I used to be a sales person for Lowe's in Colorado Springs, CO. I helped put that store together when it was brand new and was top windows and walls sales person in the Denver region. Lowe's was a place one could be proud to say they worked for. They were the always considered a step above the orange competitor. We were ready to drop over 5k tonight on all the cabinets, both kitchen and bath, entire new bathroom sink bath shower and flooring. Tomorrow that money will go right into the orange stores pocket. This is an amendment to my last review of our appliance purchase at Lowes. We made the purchase of 4 appliances, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, to include a Refrigerator(which we really needed because ours was dying a slow death), Range, Microwave and Dishwasher. Close to 5K worth of appliances. We were told the refrigerator would be delivered that week once it was received. We were also told the remainder of the appliances would be delivered in two weeks once they arrived. Well to make a long story short, we canceled the order for the refrigerator because they could not get it delivered when promised. The remainder of the appliances were not delivered and installed until Early JANUARY 2020, yes almost two months later. And we got one excuse after another. Needless to say, Lowes will never get that kind of order from us again. We have found them to be unreliable, untrustworthy, and untruthful in their practices. The only good thing we can say is that the installer that came out to do the installation, was AWESOME, he went above and beyond to make sure the installation was done right and he cleaned up after himself. FOLKS, do yourselves a favor and NEVER, EVER buy APPLIANCES from LOWES, you will regret it as we do. read more

Absolutely disgusted by my entire experience with Lowe's on my current house remodel. I was trying to use them instead of Home Depot because I don't agree with Home Depot's owners political contributions. However lowes has forced my hands into shopping at Home Depot because they can't be professional, they can't sell quality goods, very rarely do you find someone to answer a question and if you find someone they don't know the answer to your simple question. Half the boards we got from them had splits down them rendering them useless. I had no idea and trusted the sales person who helped me with it. I was completely taken advantage of sonce my boyfriend wasn't there to catch it. We bought a shower pan from them and got home and it was broken. We went to return it and they tried to sell us another one that was also broken. We then ordered the same shower pan and was promised that it would be here by the 10th. It's still not here. We have only a month to remodel this place before moving in. With this kind of piss poor management they have lost a good loyal customer who has been going there exclusively since they opened. read more

I ordered and paid for flooring, and since they had the wrong number on file (despite FOUR phone calls in which I asked them to change it), it sat for over a week before I walked in and asked about it (it could have been installed in that time!). And the number is still wrong, since the person I spoke to just said "I'll make a note about it," which is the response I got every time. And then it took over a half hour just to get it to my car, after the indoor employee told me it was ready and they'd have it right out. The last straw when when ANOTHER employee *sighed and rolled his eyes at me* when I asked if I could take the entire shipment instead of just half at a time. Hours before delivery, I receive a notice that they won't deliver to my address. 5 times on hold over two days with total wait time 2.5 hours on hold. I'm disabled so I asked "Chris" (male, white, bald, tattoos, early 30's) for help loading 500' of various molding lengths onto a cart. He made several excuses not to help me, including belittling me, mocking me, laughing at me, and questioning my manhood for not doing it myself. I asked him to please bundle the molding by type using twine to secure it together so it would be easier for the cashier to process and be safer to transport home in my pick up truck. He refused by further belittling me and intentionally mixed/jumbled all the molding together, damaging some of the pieces in the process. I asked a female cashier (white, female, purple hair, 20's) to speak with the store manager, but she directed me to the head cashier (Judy, Trudy, or a similar name). Because the molding was so jumbled, and in order for the cashier to accurately process the bulky order for payment, it required two additional employees to remove the molding from the cart, stacking it on floor, blocking the other cash registers, while other customers tripped over the piles of 8-16 foot molding lengths also blocking the main exit doors. This was such an involved process, it took 30 minutes for the cashier to process the order. All this happened because macho-man Chris didn't want to do his job properly. The three cashiers who helped process the order and "Christian" who reloaded the molding back onto the cart and loaded it on to my pick up truck did a 5-star job. Chris, the clerk who insulted and belittled me, a disabled customer, gets zero stars and should be fired. I requested that Ian, the store manager, contact me, but he never did. Next time I'll shop at Home Depot which has a good reputation for assisting disabled customers. #### REVIEW UPDATE: 10-30-2017 Today I was messaged by the Lowe's employee (Chris C) which was the subject of my negative review.
