I have shopped here for several years and spend several thousand dollars a year. Usually have a great experience until this year. I have been to the garden center 3 times this month to buy dirt straw and mulch. I go there because it's close to my home. Every time I go there are NO carts. No way to buy large bags of soil and carry 6 or 7 bags on my shoulders. I have said something to the cashier every time. I also would like to buy several plants and flowers but because I am not an octopus I am unable to carry more than two. All three timers I have had to go to Home Depot to get my soil and plantings. I was there again today hoping to shop at 2pm and couldn't get anything because no carts. Also there wasn't anyone else there shopping. I wonder why that is ?? read more

Service was hard to get!! I stood in front of the item i wanted while looking at four employees that never helped me that were in some conversation. They never acknowledged me. Finally another one came by and asked if i needed help. I said yes i need this item right here. Ok so he announced i needed help on the intercom. No one came. Another on walks by....Can i help you? I said yes i need this and they suggested me to wait at the deck where the computers are. I did. Finally a slim tall black guy asks me if he could help me. I told him exactly which Vinyl flooring I wanted and he said it was a ONLINE ITEM only. I said i know it is but your website said you had 26 boxes in stock. He said no we don't have any this is a ONLINE ITEM only. I said i realize it is a ONLINE ITEM. But your website has you have 26 boxes here at this store. He says again this a ONLINE ITEM i can order it for you. I said i can look this up on my phone and show you. He just shrugged his shoulders as to say i don't care. I said you mean to tell me i drove all the way from Lowell NC and talked to some women earlier this morning and she confirmed that you do have it at this store. But you want to order more! Nor would he confirm the amount on hand at the store on his computer. So i started to ask for the manager then i asked. Is there a women who works in this dept. that was here about an hour ago. He said yes. I talked to her and she remembered me. Guess what ....they had it in stock! Problem solved!!! I went back to the guy i had spoken with earlier and asked him if he wanted to see the item that never was there and he said....no. I gave him time to apologize but seeing i was not going to get it it made me furious. So i told him that maybe he was not as smart as he thought! Story is he did not want to get up off his chair and physically see if it was there and that i was a stupid customer. And was willing to send me back home without my stuff. At this store there is an employee that continues to park in the fire lane by the entrance. Each time I've seen the car parked there, I left and went to Home Depot. This is totally unacceptable that an employee here feels they are above all others, and says if there is an emergency, I don't care about Lowe's or any of its guest. DO NOT USE LOWES FOR FENCING we have been waiting and paying on our fence installation since June! it's mid September- no fence. we call daily and get the run around from the fence installation team. The installer, Broken Jay fencing has horrible review, does not return calls to Lowes or anybody. he still has not filed for our permit. I was looking for an item that I knew they had but I just didn't know where they stock them. I saw a Lowe's associate behind a desk with a computer. I walked up to him and noticed he was just playing on his cell phone. I asked him where they had this item. He replied back, "Sorry, I have no idea" Wow. So I asked him if he could look it up on the computer and he replied back.. wow again "I just have a cell phone and don't know how to look it up. I explained to him he was right next to a computer at the desk he was standing next to. He started to open a window up and stopped. He stated "I really don't know how to do this, let me get help and I will be right back" About 5 minutes later, I gave up and started using the computer he could not figure out how to. The computer showed me the Isle I can find the item. After finding it and heading back to the cash register to check out I saw that same associate on his cell phone in a different area. Wow yet again. Oh, and on lumber, if you don't have a customer around you to help you put the large lumber on your cart, you will need to do it yourself. Told Tosh wasn't available to me. Flooring supervisor assured me she would find out and call before the end of the day. I'm here on Saturday morning to say I have heard nothing. Well let just say Lowe's has changed their return and military discount policy and it sucks! I bought title for our bathroom and was only thinking I needed 2 or 3 boxes but the associate convinced me to buy more in case they broke or were damaged in the box. Besides buying more than I needed I have a disability which does allow me to a lot of work at one time. So it's taken me a little longer than it should but I managed with my disability and all. Now I wanted to return the 3 unopened boxes of new tiles and because I went over the 90 days Lowe's wouldn't refund me my money. So what do they want me to do with 90 new tiles? Also so why is the military discount not available on tools, appliances, or wood? That's why you are a lumber hardware store because people build stuff and sometimes buy one too many or would like to have a slight discount for our service to this great country and companies. Tell me how it makes sense to put a level in visibility water damaged laminate and not the subfloor. Obviously its not level my kitchen flooded! The Old Laminate is down still so of course its not level. Worst customer service, absolutely 0 communication between anyone involved with Lowe's. I have been trying to order mullin kits for pella Windows. The only person at Rock Hill lowes that has a clue about ordering the kits is James and he is in the hospital. You can't even get anyone to answer the phone. I talked to Jordan in the store and he is the last person i would want ordering anything for me. He original told me to use some kind of piece of pvc I had to give him a part number for the kits. He told me at first they could't order them. Lowes of Rock Hill is pitiful for customer service. All they want to do is haress you in trying to get a crédit application filled out. They would be the last place i would want a crédit card. Just piss poor service and sorry management. read more

Please allow me to spend a moment sharing my worst customer experience ever, which of course occurred at Lowe's. In April 2024, Lowe's sold me porcelain tile for my kitchen, dining, and laundry area. They installed the tile in late April, and it was an absolutely awful job. No spacers were used, grout lines were crooked, and the floor was uneven. They got grout all over my kitchen cabinets and moved the appliances back before the tile had set. There was even a partial piece of tile under my stove that caused one side to be higher than the other. They also used the wrong grout color. Service Pros, who handled the installation, sent out an inspector who immediately determined that they "owed me a floor" because of how inept the installer had been. Then began the miscommunication and stalling nightmare I am still living to this day (July 5, 2024). Multiple installers came out, each citing a different reason why tile would not work on my floor (subfloor, dishwasher, house settling, doors). Lowe's installation has called me so many times I lost count, each not knowing what the others have said, but they all admit that they should have never sold me the floor or installed it in the first place. The Installation support team has told me everything from "tile might work if you pay a contractor to level the floor and replace your doors," to "LVP will work," to "only sheet vinyl will work"; one even told me I could only use carpet...in a kitchen. On June 25th, an installer came who tore up 3/4 of the tile they had originally laid to "see what the problem with the subfloor" is. They left me with partial tile, mostly subfloor with screws sticking up from it, and some concrete board, mortar, and chunks of tile, which I have been walking on since. After 3 conversations with Lowe's and 3 with Service Pros in just under 2 days, I finally just asked them to install sheet vinyl, like I had before, as soon as possible so I could use my kitchen again. That was on June 26th. Today, July 5th, I still have no installation date. This week, I have received two emails that they have to do a lead paint assessment, even though my home was built in 1997 and does not require one, and a second request for a measurement even though they measured yet again for sheet vinyl this week. Apparently, they cannot use the same measurement for tile on a sheet vinyl job, for reasons unknown to me. I have communicated with the store multiple times, and that has been my best experience, although once the information hits the Lowe's installation team, the nightmare starts all over again. I spoke to someone on the installation team yesterday who gave me the Lowe's Corporate Installation number, but when I called it, it was a number for medical alert devices. So far, I have received no compensation or offer of compensation from Lowe's, and I still don't have a floor. Again, this project started in April, and it is now July. Yesterday, the installation team called me and requested $5,000 for the sheet vinyl before they could schedule the installation. For reference, the Stainmaster porcelain tile they originally installed was just over $5,000. Obviously, sheet vinyl does not cost as much as porcelain tile to install; additionally, there is no way I am paying Lowe's again considering they never completed the first job. The way I see it, it is only reasonable for Lowe's to completely reimburse me at this point. If I had known then what I know now, I would have kept the floor I had. I urge you, if you need flooring installation, look elsewhere. read more

The plumbing section here is always not in the stock of the most common fittings. The boxes are most commonly filled with the wrong parts. Doing a phone sale here is usually a nightmare. This is reviewing the Lowes store AND delivery service. Store The sales guy was great. Sorry, I forgot his name. He was a veteran and recognized that I was also. Treated me great. I also visited the store 3x times for window blinds and each time the reps cut my blinds to my satisfaction. Delivery: I purchased my washer dryer from this store. They did not deliver things on the same day. I was told by their delivery guys that this is common. They also called me to deliver at the wrong time, but they amended this for a later delivery. The guys who delivered my washer were nice and respectful of my wishes to take off their shoes going onto my carpet. Thanks.! The guys who did the dryer - not so great. I extended my hand to great the lead - and, after shaking it, wiped his hands in disgust as if I had dirty hands. He said it was because I was wearing a Redskins hoodie.... This is not acceptable behavior for ANY kind of business. We are not friends - and I was respectful to him from beginning to end. Glad the military ensured I learned what acceptable behavior in service. I want to add that they somehow damaged my dryer as it is rattling and making noises. The head delivery guy admitted to this noise and also pointed out that the baseball sized dent on the side of the top could be the culprit. He offered a 15% discount and then said that he'll call Lowes to bring out a replacement..... So, I got to schedule another day to complete my order. It would be nice to have things delivered working and from someone who did not make me feel like I came from a cesspool. If he was joking around, he should have at least apologized or admit he was kidding. Not happy.! read more

We entered in at the garden section after asking an employee in the parking lot where we could find patio umbrellas. We found the umbrellas with no problems but had some trouble figuring out what was included in the enclosed packing the umbrellas were in, and went and asked one of the two cashier to get us some assistance, she picked up the phone and made the request and someone appeared in quick amount of time. After selecting an umbrella, we went just inside the doors of the garden department to look for backyard foggers or insect repellent. I have a preference for the foggers since they attack a larger area, and the person I found to help me insisted they didn't sell those items. I explained to her that they were just inside the door of the garden area but were part of promotional packages that contained products we didn't really need. She insisted again that this Lowe's did not carry that item. I continued to look for a few minutes more and found three different version of foggers just one aisle over from where she and I stood and she insisted they didn't have them. I started to go back and bring it to her attention, but what do I care if someone doesn't know their product line and will allow a big box retailer to miss out on an additional unit per transaction, and adding an additional $6 to the days total. But really, how can you work in Lowe's and not know that they sell outdoor/backyard bug sprays? Especially on the first weekend of summer??? Other than that interaction, I have to say the check out process went smoothly and even the cashier that had called for someone to assist us with the umbrella knew that they sold foggers and where I wold find them individually sold in the store. read more

DO NOT STORE PICKUP FROM THIS LOCATION. With the ever-omnious COVID-19 threat, we have been encouraged to order online and wait for a confirmation to go pick up the order from the store. Where this process may be complicated for some, it must be ten times harder for this location. The first order was in late february and the process seemed extremely disorganized. The employees were not well versed with how to do the process and had you sign random pieces of paper. I took that as a "they probably just started doing this" and brushed it off. Enter: the second pickup order. On Saturday morning I ordered the following 3 items: 1. Insulating foam gap filler can (12 oz can) 2. 3-1/4-in x 8-ft Pine Primed Finger Joint Baseboard Moulding (x2) 3. Classic 5.25-in x 8-ft White Pine Shiplap Wall Plank (x7) I then broke a drill bit and shortly thereafter ordered: 1. 3-Piece x High-Speed Steel Twist Drill Bit Set (x1) The online store actually gives in the description the location in the store. For example, you can find item #2 on Aisle 21 , Bay 15. They seem to make this process so EASY, I'm pretty sure you could "Tom Sawyer" children to do it as a game. We received two emails at 2:00pm that day stating that our order was ready for pickup. Perfect! We would leave at 4:00pm and be back for our phone conference scheduled at 6:00pm. The drive is 18 minutes each way. 4:20 we arrive at Lowes. The store is typical as to how busy they are. It is not busting at the seams and we are one of two cars utilizing the pickup option. A store employee asks for our order numbers and I give them to him. He disappears into the store. Ten minutes later he comes back and says that "we lost the bag and are trying to find it. It should only be another minute." Twenty minutes later he brings out the drill bits without a bag or receipt and hands them into the car. "I've got three employees looking for the other bag, i'm sorry for the inconvenience." At this point they have spent 30 minutes looking for a bag containing three items that could easily been found and placed into a NEW bag in under 15 minutes. I asked him if they could remake the bag instead because it would probably be faster. He nodded in agreement. Twenty minutes later he emerges again outside the store without the lost bag or the new bag. At this point we have waited for 50 minutes to receive 3 items from Lowes. These three items that would have taken realistically 14 minutes TOPS to recover for any relatively intelligent individual. (Remember, the location of the items is listed on the order form found online.) We leave without recovering our items. Next time (if somehow Home Depot is closed) if you told me there was a 70% chance i'd get COVID-19 if I went into the store, I would take the risk instead of attempting to do store pickup again. What this boils down to is poor leadership and direction from management. The employees are obviously not trained on where to place items nor are they trained on utilization/ efficiency. This is an ongoing problem that is not being addressed. I've called corporate because obviously management is not doing its job. Now I have to make another 18 minute drive just to go in and pick up my items. Thats if I do not order it from Home Depot today and cancel my lowes card and orders. Not sure if they are selling junk appliances or what but my dishwasher is a whirl pool of course warranty expired but it stopped cleaning and sometimes milk will still be in cups. I've checked hoses etc plus it's not drying water everywhere when finished on glasses and lots of food in bottom which blows around onto almost handwashed Plus there is black mold throughout interrior. I'm not sure if I'll buy anything else as years ago lifetime grill rusted within a year. Covered always. It depends on how they respond. read more

Maybe I'm insane, but when I go into a home improvement store I expect the employees to have a slight knowledge of, oh I dunno, HOME IMPROVEMENT. I'm probably being unrealistic when I expect someone to be able to answer questions relating to their particular department. Didn't think that was unreasonable. This Lowes has made me twitchy 2 out of 3 visits. First situation: need mini blinds. Not odd measurements, fairly standard in my experience. Go to the blinds department and cannot find any blinds close to the length I need. But HEYYYYOOO! See this little station where they advertise cutting blinds. Push the "assistance" button. A few minutes later a woman comes around the corner to help. I ask her what I thought was a simple question (strike me down if I'm wrong).... "I have a window that is 40 inches long/tall. These blinds are 64 inches long/tall. Can you cut them so they are closer to 42 inches long?" My heavens, you would have thought I asked this woman to cut her own skull open and perform a lobotomy. She stared and finally said, "I've only cut about 10 blinds ever. So I'm not sure. I'm not comfortable doing anything for you. But so-and-so comes off her break at 6, she knows what she's doing." Ok.... so we'll come back when the competent lady is working. Came back. Repeat the same question. "Oh, we only cut width not length". OK, that's fine, how did the first woman not know this? It seems like a simple enough thing to remember. I ask competent lady, "are there any other options beyond custom ordering blinds?".... "nope". Ok, grab a box of the 64 inch blinds because I'm not special ordering blinds for a freaking back door. Get home, GUESS WHAT?! You can adjust the length of the blinds I bought!! Not sure why she didn't tell me that, but come on. This is your department, you should know this crap backwards and forwards. Other situation: went to the plumbing department. Looking for a way to raise my shower head, specifically an "S pipe". I couldn't find it. I described the pipe. I described exactly what I wanted it for. I got a blank stare in return. "Well you can get a detachable shower head". Thank you, plumbing department man. My tiny blond brain couldn't think of that solution. Except I did and that's not gonna work. Don't try and sell me something I didn't ask for because you're confused about the original item I wanted. He also tried to tell me you could attach one male end to another male end. I said, "you mean male into female?" Another blank stare followed by, "I suppose you could do that." Bottom line, based off what I've seen I'd say 50% of the employees are knowledgeable and there to do a hard day's work. The other 50% couldn't get a job at McDonald's so they are putzing around here pretending like they know what's going on. Mainly I think they just hide around the store so they don't have to talk to anyone. If you know what you need and don't need too much help, this Lowes is fine. If you want any help beyond "what aisle is plumbing?" You may want to reconsider this particular Lowes. read more

Purchased windows 10/5/2020 and to date the windows are not installed. 1st attempt was mid-January. Windows delivered were wrong for my house. This after a project "specialist" came out with a book, measured twice and placed order. When the drivers came to retrieve the wrong items they left the product wrapping trash strewn across the yard. Like a fool, I trust them to reorder and install. 2nd install date (March) guess what happened? Wrong. CRAP. Delivered. Again. At NO time between 1st and 2nd install dates did any employee call or ask questions that could have prevented the second error. Today I went with my mother to the lowes in rock hill sc. we waited at the paint department as it rang over the loud speaker that we needed someone to help us. None of the employees ever came over instead a Valspar rep came over to help us. We turned around to see four employees standing at the service desk laughing and looking at there phones when we walked over and asked to speak to the general manager we were told he was in a meeting (for the last two months everytime we have a problem at this location the general manager is ALWAYS in a meeting) so we spoke to the assistant manager who down played the problem. ( probably because she was one of the four laughing and on their phones) when we called the help line not only did it take 45 minutes but the woman Amanda hung up after also downplaying the problem. I'd like to first say...that I have always preferred Lowe's over Home Depot. That being said...I always go to Home Depot now. Why? When you hear people call Lowe's...Slows...they're probably referring to this location. The employees are like Taco Bell drive through workers that are pissed off to be doing their job. There are two workers there that I look for if I need some help and needed to go for something HD didn't have. They are both retired guys from Pennsylvania/Ohio/New York...or wherever around there...but they seem to love talking and helping you out. Finding help aside from the two I mentioned, is like looking for your wife in a grocery store after you have been separated from her. You're both looking down every aisle and probably passing each other repeatedly. At Lowe's however...they're probably just hiding or pretending to be busy. I spend an ample amount of money at hardware stores for home projects on a regular basis...and that money now goes to Home Depot. Lowe's? Customer service...get some! read more

Nice lowe's in the commercial area of rock hill which makes it convient. Nothing stands out as far as your typical lowe's but staff is usually helpful or at least attempted to try to assist. I prefer the Lowe's in Fort Mill a little more, seems to be a little larger and a few more products. Only big gripe i have and not just at this Lowe's but other one's as well as Home Creepo is they only have the Self Checkout sometimes....have you every tried to buy a lumber cart full of flooring and the evil selfcheckout ady keeps asking you to "lay down your item in the bagging are", or buy a bag of Portland sand in a 80 lb bag. C'mon keep one register open with a person, because it is very difficult and frustrating with lumber, landscape or most larger items to even attempt a self checkout, please keep one MANED or (WOMAN ED) register open for us who buy more than the RTU Roundup (no i will not explain RTU and you probably waste your money buying it that way;-) ..or a bag of lawn bags. Just walked out with nothing!! Went in to purchase a dishwasher, but could not get any help. Watched two employees talking - made eye contact and smiled as to not interrupt, but waiting to be acknowledged. They finished their conversation and both went off separate ways never acknowledging me. One employee went to a close area and began talking to yet another employee. I went to that area and waited yet again to be acknowledged. Finally he says "do you need something" to which I replied why yes I could use some help. Walked back to the dishwasher area and waited and waited. Could hear him still talking to the other employee. At which time I looked at my husband and suggested we try Home Depot. Small 5'x20' Fence installation took 4 months to complete and the company hired to do the job used my backyard to store unused materials the entire time while extras were back ordered. Destroyed my yard and my mood. Bad experience. Can I give 0 star... read more
