If you are a contractor or Pro customer, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Lowe's on Turner Road in Salem, Oregon. My husband has been working on a project in Salem for the past four months and has been shopping at this location regularly since May. Unfortunately, his experience with the Pro Desk has been consistently terrible. On multiple occasions, he has stood at the Pro Desk waiting for assistance while employees ignored or dismissed him. After the first several incidents, he attempted to bring his concerns to store management, only to be dismissed there as well. Eventually, the situation became bad enough that I filed a complaint with Lowe's corporate. That resulted in a call from an in-store manager, but unfortunately nothing changed. Today was the final straw. My husband approached the Pro Desk because he needed assistance with a special-order item for the project. The Pro working behind the computer never looked up or made eye contact, but told him he would be right with him. My husband waited patiently for several minutes. When the employee finally acknowledged him, he asked what he wanted. My husband said he wanted to "cash out," meaning he was ready to check out. The employee responded that he didn't accept cash and pointed him toward the regular registers. My husband clarified that he wasn't paying with cash and explained that he was a Pro customer and needed assistance from the Pro Desk. Instead of helping him, the employee again directed him elsewhere and then told him he would help the other customers waiting before helping my husband. What exactly is the purpose of a Pro Desk if contractors cannot get assistance from it? Contractors are trying to keep jobs moving. We aren't coming to the Pro Desk because we expect special treatment--we use it because Lowe's specifically provides and markets Pro services to support professionals who are purchasing materials, placing special orders, managing jobs, and trying to get back to work. After months of the same treatment and multiple unsuccessful attempts to address it with management, my husband finally had enough today, left his items and went to Home Depot instead. Following the incident, my husband spoke directly with Luis Lopez, who identified himself as the Pro Desk Manager. He explained what had happened and the ongoing issues he has experienced with the Pro Desk since May. Unfortunately, he found that conversation just as dismissive as our previous attempts to bring these concerns to management. After four months of repeated problems, being dismissed yet again by the person responsible for managing the Pro Desk was incredibly disappointing. We have both commercial and personal credit accounts with Lowe's and have had wonderful experiences at other Lowe's locations--particularly the McMinnville store. This review is not about Lowe's as a whole. It is specifically about the repeated lack of customer service and management response at the Turner Road location in Salem. Four months of the same problem is not a bad day or an isolated interaction. It is a pattern. We will not be shopping at this location again. read more

When they delivered my dryer, they laid it on its back. I don't know if it traveled that way or not. When it was set up, it had a slight "shoe thumping"noise and vibration. The delivery guys told me I would need to call in for a repair. Less than 48 hours later I did. They sent out someone a week later who told me it was my dryer vent. Now, I'm not saying I don't look stupid, but I'm not. I told him there was no way. They said they would balance it and that would fix it, I don't know if they balanced it, but whatever they did didn't work. They gave me a number to call to escalate the problem/solution. I called. Then because I didn't go into the store, but ordered it online, they made me reach out to the delivery branch of Lowe's. They also put me off for two weeks although I called during that time and was assured someone would reach back out to me. The dryer is almost 30 days old and has had three loads dried through it. I called today and was told the warranty was no good anymore because it was over 48 hours and I should contact the manufacturer. Talk about runaround! I already purchased the manufacturers warranty. Apparently Lowe's sells shotty equipment and hires, shotty people on the hopes that folks will reach out for their manufacturer warranty and just leave them alone. I am a certified buyer and will broadcast to all of my other buyer friends the customer service and warranty issues I've come across. You could've done good no fewer than 10 times Lowe's, but you blew it. They do not stand behind what they sell. Enough excuses. Enough workarounds. Enough of Lowe's. read more

Ordered a refer online, got here in 2 days from Salem (45 miles). $1250 for the unit plus 'necessary' $18 installation kit, plus $50 to take away the old one, charged my card $1355. The delivery guys put it in place, plugged it in, and basically said that's it. They would not connect the water line for the icemaker because it's copper from the basement to the kitchen, and then flex plastic to the refer. 'We can't, there is copper.' Called Lowe's and got the same story, call devolved to 'but it's plastic to the unit' / 'but there is copper, you can do it yourself or call a contractor.' Would have been nice to know that before we turned the water off. Of course the fittings for the prev unit don't fit. Asked the delivery guys if they could cap the loose line so we could turn the water on, primal shrug on their way out the door. Sullen, uncommunicative, unhelpful, and charged for an install kit they did not use. No more Lowes, ever. read more

I genuinely have had the worst shopping experience and customer service experience of my life. I ordered the Clairmont patio dining set a few weeks ago and had scheduled delivery for today. This morning, I received an email saying my delivery had been changed, so I called to make sure there was no action needed from me. After about 30-45 minutes on the phone, Octavio found that someone else had placed an order for the same product as me and they thought for some reason, even though they were different order numbers and names, they were duplicate orders and now are out of stock of the set. So basically, they oversold me the table and now don't have it. They told me to call another location and ask if they could fulfill it. So I tried the clackamas location, as suggested, and was transferred to lawn & garden and on hold for a while, then got the supervisor, then was on hold to wait for a seasonal employee, all for the call to start beeping and go nowhere. I called the salem store back and basically the guy said sorry but all we can do is cancel. I already had part of my order (the umbrella and base delivered). So now I'm stuck with that, which I don't even want if I don't have the table. So I called Lowe's regular customer service line and she was able to find a table and chairs from Keizer. When going to purchase, she placed the order for the chairs but then the table is now out of stock. She said their MIGHT be one table at clackamas and so now I have to call them even though they are showing out of stock online?! I'm SO SICK of the calls, interrupting my work day and still with no resolution. This is genuinely the biggest waste of time and still haven't had this resolved. I'm also out all the money from the original charge and now the new purchase of the chairs and don't even have a complete order. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse Weird to review a big-box building materials warehouse store on Yelp, but there is a difference between the contenders. There is Lowe's and a Home Depot within five minutes of my home in South Salem, and of my workplace in Albany. There are also two independent Ace Hardware stores within striking distance of both home and work, which I used to frequent when I needed specific advice, but that "expert" function has been replaced by YouTube, and I find Ace really are more expensive. I prefer Lowe's, but still shop at Home Depot, but always as a matter of convenience. I like Lowe's because I find the stores more D-I-Y conscious, much cleaner, brighter, more organized, better availability of customer service, and having a wider variety of items (including seasonal). On like items, price seems about the same between Lowe's and Home Depot. I regularly shop at the Albany, Salem, or Keizer Lowe's stores, and find each equally well laid-out and ... nice. I've never used either corporation's websites, other than to check prices and availability of items, mostly because I'm an Amazon Prime member, and I love their free shipping. I am guilty of browsing at the store, making a decision, and then purchasing the item online. I know that both Home Depot and Lowe's offer an "order online, pick up at customer service in the store free" option. IMHO, Lowe's is the winner. Five Stars. read more

I have purchased twice from Lowe's.com. Both times was a very poor experience. The first time it took about 20 hours for them to send an email that my order was ready. This order was fairly large fencing project. The second time I finally when out to the store after about 30 hours of waiting. The folks at the desk showed no concern as to why it would take over 30 hours to pull an order. It took two of them to go pull my 3 item small order. I understand folks are ordering on line more these days. I work in retail and our orders are to be pulled in our stores with in an hour and we don't have staff dedicated to that business!! On 2/4 we wanted to purchased a small vanity. After not being able to find a cart an employee told us to go out and look in the parking lot, or wait for someone leaving and follow them out to their car. Once we located the cart we located the vanity and needed assistance putting it on the cart. Not an employee on the floor and not a manager to be found. Grabbed an employee walking by on his personal cell phone, he assisted in placing it on the cart. At checkout we asked for assistance loading it into the truck. After waiting for an hr, (checking inside w/the clerk after 40 mins) we finally unboxed it in the parking lot, and we were able to create manageable pieces and we were able to load it. There are alternatives to Lowe's and Home Depot and it's fine to shop elsewhere. read more

I went to the Salem Lowes last week December 18th. While at the checkout I noticed two men walking around the store not wearing masks. They were getting in a check out line, still with no masks on. I mentioned this to the store clerk as I was checking out. She didn't seem too bothered and did nothing. I am a senior with health issues so I went into the store right after they opened to buy a single board. This was such an exhausting experience. I ordered a dishwasher online and chose one based on delivery time, it was supposed to be there here in two days. Randomly, without a phone call, I get an email notification the day before delivery saying that they moved my delivery to a week later. I called into the store (waited on hold for 20 minutes) for someone to finally confirm that he could change the delivery date back, and he reset it. I then got a text message the night before delivery that everything was confirmed. I woke up the morning of delivery to an email from Jennifer, it was extremely unprofessional. No phone call, she just stated that they couldn't deliver my item as it wasn't in stock, but she did state that there was one open box unit. I asked if that one was in good condition and stated that I would like to cancel the order if I couldn't get one by the end of the delivery day (the main reason I chose the product was the delivery date). She didn't respond to me. I called in (waited on hold for 30 minutes), and finally spoke with an assistant manager. He told me that he was sorry for the unprofessional way the situation had been dealt with and that Jennifer had made a note on my order just to cancel it, without checking the stock, responding to me, or refunding my card. He told me he would go check the stock personally and call me right back. I waited over an hour, still nothing. I tried to call him back but had to wait on hold for another hour. I finally got through to someone who stated she couldn't reach him. It feels like they legitimately did not care at all about my purchase. This was so frustrating and I absolutely would not recommend this store. In the end, I told the customer service representative just to cancel my order because it feels wrong to spend $700 at a store that has no respect for your time or for you as a person. read more

Recently had a new steel security screen door put into my home. It was a great experience working with Steve & Irwin in the millwork department. The process starts with getting your door measured at your house, that contractor relays the info back to Lowe's. You then come into Lowe's to choose the door and lockset, review your schedule for the install. Lowe's contractor was prompt to install, did an excellent job, was meticulous in clean-up and super fast. It was quick, easy, impressive sale and install. Highly recommend! read more

On my lunch break I went to make a return at Lowes. 2 associates were working on a return with a customer and another was on the phone. After 20 minutes no one had acknowledged me, said we will be with you in a moment, or sorry for the wait. At one point there were 6 people behind the customer service area and no one even made eye contact. Finally the people in front of me got their return completed and then she said how can I help you sorry for the wait. She then made a mistake and on my return and said son of a bitch. Sometimes things get messed up, and sometimes people have to wait, I get that. At the very least acknowledge them, and when it is their turn don't curse at them! read more

We've been slowly doing DIY improvements to our home for the last year and have consistently found Rob in the flooring department to be spot on in his recommendations. Solid advice, very knowledgeable regarding products, always friendly. We've switched most of our purchases to Lowe's rather than Home Depot strictly because of Rob! We're now in the middle of a professional kitchen renovation and purchased our backsplash tile from Lowe's (based on Rob's recommendation. The tile is beautiful.) Unfortunately, when our contractor grouted the tile it was discovered that the tile is defective and half of the tiles absorbed the color from the grout. It was awful, and we obviously still had to pay our contractor now not only for the installation, but to remove 40 square feet of tile and repair the drywall just to start all over. I was incredibly upset and called Lowe's and explained my situation to Assistant Manager Brendan. I was honestly expecting to get the run around, but that was not the case. Brendan was very quick to offer a very fair solution and made it clear that they stand behind the products they sell. I am SO impressed with the customer service at this location and will forever be a loyal Lowe's customer due to this situation! read more

Might be confusing to some about my review but here goes, If you see a male cashier named "Adrian P. avoid his register because he is so emotionless and uncaring. I go up with about 12-14 items to check out he starts scanning only thing he says during the whole transaction is whether I want plastic bags for my miscellaneous items and I made a wisecrack about the bag and no comment from him. After it totaled, I told myself "wow" $200+dollars for the products?? Well, as I started to walk away from the check stand, I glanced at the bill and noted $100 for 12ct. item but only thing counted items were all screws & washers. I went back to Adrian and said I was erroneously overcharged pointing to the $100 dollar on the receipt. Still deadpan expression, "nada", no advise such as "please go to the service desk". I looked at him looking at me with no words coming out of his mouth I go pissed at his attitude and said never mind, I want someone else to do a recount and his deadpan face just gave a little shrug. No words came from him ever, no sorry, no "oh", no verbal direction to head over to the customer service desk. Contacted the nice girl at the service desk and she instantly saw the problem which was I did not buy any potted roses and that Adrian had entered the (6) digit #'s I had wrote on the plastic back containing screws. Nice girl quickly credit my card back. Just giving all this information out to see if anyone else get the same vibes from Adrian P. Now the positive for the employees of this store. My handyman lost $110.00 cash that I had paid him and he when he called the store initially they told him no one had turned any money in. However, the next day he called Lowe's again and this time they said someone turned in some money. In short he took Adrian, P.'s receipt to customer service counter to identified show the time we were there and the location(s) he went to in the store and after searching their store security cameras proved he was the person that in-fact had dropped the money. Love their established procedures in this matter. Love the honesty of people in Salem, Oregon too. So continue to patronize Lowe's as I did the following days but avoided Adrian if he was working the check out register. read more

Staff has no clue wear items are in the store. Had to ask multiple staff to find what I was looking for. Staff also was rude to my grandmother. Staff had items on register that confused "Jane" in training. She rung up multiple items more than once and tried charging us for them. She did not remove scanners and alarms went off as we left the store. This employee was terrible at her job. Train your staff better. read more

The appliance manager lies outt her ass! Assured me that our fridge would be added to thr truck after they messed up our delivery the first time. We set to have our fridge delivered Saturday. Friday night we get the call it will be delivered on Saturday between 11 and 3. After zero calls, text, or email, at 4 I call. Find out they changed our delivery to Monday. with out confirming it woth us. I call and after an hour on the phone. The Appliance manager assured me it would be added to thr truck for thr next day (sunday) and be delieverd. (now I know she was just blowing smoke) We called and double checked and the automated said yes for delivery on Sunday. Welll around noon we get an email (at least this time we got an email) that the new delivery date is for Monday... again . I love the incompetence the "company" has . so now we have to go out of our way and get the fridge ourself cause I have zero faith that it would even get delivered on Monday cause their track record is.... steller... thus far. highly do NOT recommend Lowes.. not even to my worse enemy. read more

This is the place to go for cheap light fixtures with good quality. As you know living in Oregon during the winter months can get ... wet. So I take my daughter to Lowe's and walk the aisles to see what I could use for my new house and teach my little one store etiquette. During this little exercise routine I found that corporate likes to do one day liquidation sales that an every day shopper can really capitalize on. I have replaced five light fixtures in my house (two are fans with lights) and saved $540! I got a $260 chandelier over my dinning room table for $60 and it is a show stopper that I know will help sell my house. You can also save a bundle with special order light fixtures that people returned. I got a pair of sconces that ordered online were $240 each and I got the pair for $50. It pays to be in the right place at the right time. End of the year clear out helps too since they have to make room for the new products. read more

I ordered a washer and dryer from Lowe's it was delivered and installed on Monday. When I went to use it it was leaking everywhere (not installed correctly) and they stacked it without the stacking kit I ordered. 4.5 days later they came out to fix it and did not bring a stacking kit so I still can't use my new machines. I am beyond frustrated trying to get them out here tomorrow to fix it read more

How weird is this? Now that I'm a home owner and have gotten to know Lowe's better than I know my husband, I can't stand them! The employees are the biggest bunch of untrained goobers I've ever had to deal with. Not one employee within the last four months has been any help at all--and that's if you can even find them. Case in point: two days ago I was searching for untreated cedar. I happened upon two young guys in the lumber section and the one that actually spoke had no idea if the lumber was treated. He ended up just walking off after saying, "I don't know." Before that it was a doe eyed teenage girl who had no idea shelving I was talking about. And before that it was a woman working the tool section who wasn't able to direct me to a carpenters square. Lowe's might be cheaper and bigger than Home Depot but you can't put a price on service. Very helpful workers, though not all the help is accurate. Staff sold me a screw that I was told would work, but it did not fit when I got home. I hate that set screws and other small hardware fasteners are sold in bags so that one cannot try them for size and fit, first. And when the heat wave hit, they had no fans. They could have made a killing when the temps hit 100+! They are also located next to a very big discount store, making shopping at Lowe's more convenient. read more

I had a brand new Frigidaire Side by side delivered on Monday. I just called Lowe's and explained that the Vegetable & Fruit drawers would slide in and out as they should. The person in the appliance department said that is always a problem with that brand and told me to rub Vaseline on the edges. I explained that I bought a new fridge so I would not have problems since I am going through extensive cancer treatment. I asked that if it needed an adjustment that they come out and do it since I have neither the knowledge or ability. He said it was not a problem they would deal with. I stated that if this is a known problem, why didn't they tell me? He said that was not something they do. That will be my last Lowe's purchase. read more
