I ordered 3 gallons of paint and chose a color from the Home Depot app, but when I got the paint home and started to apply it on a wall.....well, it was definitely NOT the color I wanted. (*Never buy paint from a color app. Colors are not the same.) I went back to Home Depot, hoping they could change the shade or something since there are no refunds for tinted paint. Angela was amazing. She was super kind and helped me find the right shade I was originally looking for. Angela even talked to the manager, and I was able to get a refund for the all the cans that had the wrong shade of paint. Larry was awesome, too. Both Angela and Larry worked together to mix the right shade of paint I needed.. If it weren't for Angela and Larry, I would be lost in colorland, wishing I could just get the right shade of blue/green I needed. Thanks again for all your help!!! read more

Never had an experience like this before. Went yesterday to purchase and order a lot of things for our new home. First we started with the toilets...found one we liked and wanted to purchase them...the stock of toilet we wanted was up on the very top of the shelf...the guy said it would be a few hours. What? Then asked a employee where the blinds were. I was told by flooring and she walked off. What? Where is flooring? Finally found it and had to go to customer service to get someone to assist to have them cut to size. Waited over 30 min in the kitchen department to place an order to a bathroom vanity top. Couldn't get an employee over there. I walked over to the paint dept and he said their phone doesn't work so they have no way of asking for help? I then used my cellphone to call the store and ask for help and I was told they didn't have anyone to help in that department? Today I came looking for lumber cut offs that I could use in my crafting of my cat wants and such. I made my way to the far far back corner of the store. I had to fight my way around things which is whatever because I was in a mission to save some money! I found the items in my picture by digging through the pile of cast off lumber with a sign that said 70% off and no where say it had to be spray painted purple. I got to register and was given grief over this. I told them I dug through bin to get these. Finally they discounted it but not before I about lost my cool. Kenny Powell assisted us with a bathroom countertop when it was missing parts, he went beyond my expectations to solve the problem. The paint staff, and check out folks were very friendly and helpful. Since we were out of town and working on a house to rent, we really appreciated the help it was very stressful. Every time I go into this Home Depot location I've been impressed with the great customer service by the friendly employees (both at the register and with those walking the floor or working within their departments - specifically, paint and hardware). I took the herd to HD to pick up some supplies for the mister. We had a great time roaming the large store in a bright orange HD racecar shopping cart with dual steering wheels. I swear, it was like cheap entertainment for the herd while I got to get my to-do list taken care of. Best - HD - shopping - experience - ever. read more

From my house Home Depot is 4 miles further than Lowes. I used to go to HD anyway. I just seemed to like it better there. Both stores offer a generous 10% discount for veterans. All a vet had to do was produce proof of service. Having a service connected disability rating of 80% I simply showed them my Veterans Identification card. The same one I use to check in for VA clinic or hospital visits. It has my photo on it as well. I gave them my home address and phone number and they have had no problems running my credit card over the years. Around the first of the year they decided they wanted all the information from my DD214. Service number also SSAN. Rank at discharge, Awards, Air Fonce Specialty code. There is a butt load of data on it that in my opinion they don't need in order to offer a 10% discount especially at a time that they are pulling down all time record profits. They clearly think that most vets will think just like me, "F-off I'll go to Lowes." It's closer anyway! Now they can get all the credit for patriotic veteran appreciation with way, way less cost to there profit margins. When I purchased my Sig P365 and my Remington 12 Gauge neither store ask for that info. Of course they don't care about little ol' me I just think if you don't want to offer vets a discount come right out and say it. Don't try to gain more personal data so you can sell it to data firms and make far more money than the 10% offer on individual home owner purchases. That's just downright unpatriotic. read more

The Home Depot has updates game with regard to smart appliances and technology dramatically to the point where it now does a better job than Lowe's in this area. It seems also to carry a better diversity of products than Lowes making it my new go to for home-improvement. read more

Really great hardware store. The staff was always friendly and said hello as I walked by. They asked if I needed any help with anything as I walked towards their designated areas. They have people stationed at certain areas of the store. It seems to be that's were their speciality is. The store was clean and easy to find where I was going. Signs are clearly labeled and large so you can see. Both in English and Spanish which I thought was cool. When I went to check out I realized I forgot my card and they said they could look me up in their system which was kind of them to do. It helped me get the discount I was wanting when I went to shop. Don't be afraid to ask how to do something! They love helping when you are trying to start a new project. A couple years back my dad wanted to build a fort for me and my brother. They got him everything he needed to build us a great fort! Thanks Home Depot! Overall great place to go for help with fixing, building, or repairing items. read more

The employees at this site really need to learn customer service! I came in this afternoon with my sister to get a 25lb bag of wood pellets for my grill, and have never seen the lack of service like this before. We tried to go through self checkout but the reader couldn't read the barcode, so my sister tried to get one of the check stand employees (there were two) to help and was ignored by both- one was understandable as he was with another customer, however the other just completely overlooked us both. I even moved to her checkout, and she looked over me to someone else to answer a price check, even though she clearly saw me in the line. It was at this point that another customer walked up to where my sister was standing (while trying to get help) at the other self checkout and rudely told my sister to move. And not one employee tried to defuse the situation. At this point a third employee started helping the rude woman by running her checkout for her through the self checkout stand. All the while, despite being there for several minutes and there before the 3 different customers were there, no one helped us checkout. I don't know if this is the norm, but someone needs training in customer service. read more

We were looking for an air conditioner in Corvallis and everywhere was sold out. So we ended up driving all the way to Salem. When we got there, we spoke with a manager who was very helpful. After we told her that we needed it for our sick cat, and how far we had driven, she ended up giving us a nice discount as well. Overall, these guys were life-savers! read more

My first clue should have been the inability to talk to the department I needed. The door and window department. On hold for over 10 minutes to be told that the morning person for that department never showed and the next person would be there at noon. I showed up after noon to be told by a working in that department they didn't work there and that no one would be able to order doors for me until next week. Wait, WHAT?! I came in today TO PURCHASE. First let me warn you didn't use Home Depot for flooring installation Home Depot laminate flooring subcontractor "Romanoff" was to install laminate in my dining room and hall in Dec when they came out they installed the flooring in the dining room then told me they could not do my hall then left. They did not complete the dining room job either. When I requested the installation of the laminate back in Sept they had someone come out and measure, do a drawing and took pictures of the area to be done therefore they were aware of the job to be accomplished. For over a month I have tried working thru the store manager to come up with a resolution to no avail. Now I am left with a dining room partly done, boxes of laminate laying in my hall not to mention having all my dining furniture setting in my living room for 3 months now where I can't use it needless to say I will never use them again, please think twice before you make a decision to hire them don't get stuck like I did read more

When confronted they pointed out that they were following all company policies and procedures. I usually go the Cherry Ave. store, and generally, they always have what I want, they know where it is, and they're friendly when I arrive, when I leave and everything in between. They're great when I need to return something, too. We had a less-than-stellar experience when we were refrigerator shopping (weren't very knowledgeable), so we ended up getting one from the, uh, other guys--who were extremely knowledgeable and helpful (even called Home Depot for us to get info). This is the absolute worst place to go for ordering items. I ordered 6 doors in August and it's November and I still don't have them all. I have had two doors show up broken (cracked frame) and one of the doors was never ordered (in all fairness it was the venders fault). I think this gets even more frustrating when customer service is hit and miss. The first two issues I had the worst customer service rep but this last time a guys named Scott, Mikey, and Marcus were really good to work with and it soften the blow of having another door show up broken. read more

The staff at this HD is rude and not helpful. I just called to ask about an item I'm stock and they speak to me like I'm wasting their time. I regularly go to the HD on Hagers Grove Rd off Lancaster but a few weeks ago an air compressor I wanted wasn't in stock there so I had to go to this location. I dropped $500 on this compressor and they took 45 minutes to put in in my truck. I told them I didn't want the pallet it was bolted to and since it was on wheels we could roll it out and someone could just help me lift in into my bed. Four of them stood there staring at it, some older lady said "no use the fork lift". After everyone disappeared for 20 minutes someone finally came with a lift. I ended up taking the pallet because it had been almost an hour since I made the purchase. So much for them caring about return customers. This HD sucks, go to the other one. read more

So disappointed with Home Depot. Ordered a kitchen suite that was in stock in their local distribution center. Had to wait three weeks for delivery. During this time my dishwasher magically vanished and now not in stock until April 23rd. So much for reserving and paying for an in stock appliance suite only for them to move the whole order out to April 23rd. They could have delivered my other appliances but instead they cancelled my whole delivery. Refrigerator, stove, microwave hood and dishwasher. It would have been wonderful to have the other appliances delivered. Now they have lost the whole sale. RETURNED and REFUNDED. Whoever received my dishwasher is probably loving it. Never again. If they only wouldn't have said "it's not my fault ". Maybe not you personally but Home Depot needed to help with getting my other in stock appliances delivered as agreed but nope they said "nothing we can do". Poor poor customer service read more

Utterly incompetent and, as is the nature of big box stores, no one is ever able to find information or put one in touch with installation personnel. Home Depot got the address wrong, and even though I was able to give the driver directions right to the correct address, the driver was not allowed to deliver to the house. And this was after almost a month of waiting for installation. That is only one of the irritating problems with this company, but I do not feel like going into the rest of it. Let's just say Home Dump-oh is a perfect example of why big box stores are in trouble. You suck, Bone Depot. I hope your future is nil. I will certainly never do business with you again. read more
