This has been a nightmare that won't end. I hope Yelp did not give anymore than one star. my last two refrigerators I purchased here we're not cheap. They were two to $3000 apiece and they've not lasted anymore than a year when I go to have the other refrigerator removed by the people who are delivering this refrigerator the delivery people refused to take it away. I was told that if I called got junk, they would reimburse it , it's been since July. And I'm not allowed to talk to the management staff here now simply because I reported them to the attorney generals office for fraud since I have had to be here so many times I'm still not been paid back for this, I have been in the store now. They have not done it STILL. The fact that they won't even hold up their end of the agreement. (we were told at every step we would be paid back for one 800 got junk now they're saying we think we should be paid back and they're saying that they didn't say we would be paid) this is exploitative. I can't go elsewhere because when they're appliances fail, they send you a gift card to Lowe's. I spoke to the corporate office many times each time not only was I told we would be paid back in an overnight check. I also would receive 40 and $50 gift certificates for my inconvenience. My inconvenience has yet to end. It's now October 5th this incident was in July. I have been there so many times this is insane and I am hell hostage by them. I can't go somewhere else because they sell me a useless appliance and then they give me a gift card to pay me back so I'm stuck. read more

I ordered doors and windows to be installed in my home and paid for them in April 2025. The job has still not been completed over a year later. I went all winter and spring with windows that were installed and not properly sealed or finished. Two doors they drilled holes through incorrectly, and many other issues. They contract with a company called integrity first that does the installations. Between calling the Lowe's installation support 800 number and the integrity first 800 number to try and resolve the issue and get the job finished, Ive spent countless hours on the phone explaining what's going on to different people in different parts of the country who don't care and say they'll call back, but they never do. It's a mess. The worst experience. I spent so much money on this job and my house is in worse shape then before due to water leaking in from the half done install. Another horrible experience! After waiting forever to get a product that was under lock and key, I went to ask for assistance. I was told to go back to aisle 33 and somebody would come along. In the meantime, while I was trying to get the attention of a service person, another Lowes employee came up and essentially budded in line in front of me. Unacceptable. This fucking place is where we bought a dryer 10 days ago and that was going to be delivered last week. Then they told us it wouldn't be delivered till today 24 July. We waited around all goddamn day waiting for this dryer to be delivered because they gave us eight in the morning till eight at night opening to wait for the dryer. AVOID LOWE'S AT ALL COSTS. We are in the (looooong) process of getting countertops installed with Lowe's and the company they contracted with (Granite Design). I wish I had read all the reviews on yelp, trustpilot, better business bureau, and consumer affairs to see how low their ratings are. Go with your local option. This has been a never-ending nightmare. The savings are absolutely not worth it! We signed the contract September 26th and it's now November 21st. We still have no countertops!!!!!! I'm washing dishes in the bathtub (my back loves this), cooking in a microwave or single burner, and our house is in disarray until we can reassemble our kitchen. Sales "specialist" David Soberman, competed a contract in May of 2025 for fence installation. The contract was signed May 3, 2025. On May 8, t my Lowes credit card was charged $1000.00 more than the contract price. The project was to be completed by July 4, 2025. Installers arrived on September 9, 2025 and worked for 2 and a half days, left building materials in the driveway and left without saying a word. On September 12, 2025, David Soberman returned to my property took additional measurements and said I did a change order. Project was finally finished today November 9, 2025. There have been dozens of calls to the installation department which resulted in nothing. David Soberman will not return my calls. Store management will not return my calls. I am currently on hold with customer service in the installation department who prior to putting me on hold told me to go to the store and talk to the manager. Hi, I would like to start this by saying I am young and have never had the care to leave a review no matter what happens, but today was unacceptable. When going to self check out (providing yall business) I used the hand held scanner, as I went to place it down I quickly realized I needed to put it in its holder and without it even touching the table I did so. EVEN AFTER putting it in the right spot (seconds after I didn't) Anita who was working self checkout decided to say "might want to put it where it actually goes" AFTER I ALREADY DID. Ryan the manager at the self service checkout is a complete asshole. He has an incompetent and untrained staff who are incapable of delivering the very basics of customer service. One stands there doing absolutely nothing while viewing customers having issues with the self checkout. The other 2 brain dead elderly female zombies can't preform a task without the buddy system and lack the ability to look around and assist the customer. the third, maybe Ryan's "assistant " can't even be bothered to address a customer with any sort of explanation, apologies for a system failure or even a "sorry for the inconvenience ". Nothing. When Ryan was informed of all of this he said "get over yourself " and offered no explanation for the complete cluster fuck unfolding on his watch when he is no where to be found to even assist his untrained team. You Ryan, are completely responsible for all of this... not training your staff properly so they know how to professionally address a customer, not being present when your staff clearly doesn't know how to handle a new checkout system and not having the ability to show any accountability for their lack of training and ineptitude. Well let's start with a positive as everything is well I love Lowe's because it usually has everything. I need lots of things I don't need to dream about projects etc. . Went in today and noticed they only have self check out now. I'm certainly familiar and able to do this. But why am I doing it? I'm sick and tired of doing everybody's job for them. The prices don't reflect that I am doing their cashiers job. They still want to charge me for a paper bag. It's ridiculous. As I was checking myself out, there was at least three different people having issues as they had double wrong or didn't know the procedure. I don't get it. I ordered $$$$ worth of items "in stock" with promise of delivery next week and was called a few hours later and told, "The manufacturer doesn't even make those models any more." THEN WHY TF ARE YOU TAKING MY FULL PAYMENT FOR THEM ON YOUR WEBSITE!?! 30 min of crappy, rude, hurried employee attitude later, I gave up. Beware!!!!! My elderly mother paid these guys up front and they screwed her. The demoed her small kitchen on July 6 and it wont be done on Christmas morning! Constant delays in material arrival and the sub contractors poor workmanship and management have turned this project into a nightmare! Lowes uses third party contractors who in turn use contractors. Our sub contractors is Aaron Sherwood. They are unreliable, unprofessional and their work is shoddy at best. They keep dirty sights and think leaving low voltage wiring exposed in a kitchen is ok? Don't use lowes. Bryan Baulmers stamp of approval doesn't mean a thing. I've contacted his offices and not much of anything has happened. Lowes corporate simply blowed smoke. Nothing actually happens. My mother has undergone felt after delay affecting her emotional and physical well being. What to do? Sue? That's more for mother to go through! This is unbelievable. My husband and I went to this store today to get some plants for deck pots. So many plants were dry and dying, even many that were inside under shade. This company is losing money with lack of care to this expensive product. I said to one of the women working among the plants that they needed to be watered. She responded that they had several people out and that watering was not her job. That job was for people in red vests. I saw two such people and neither of them was watering plants. It was hard to determine what one man was doing. another was stacking boxes on a high shelf. Tomorrow someone will be putting dead plants in a dumpster. How sad for the plants.....I am not sure that I will return to this store. read more

The store carries most everything I need, but I really hate the check out. There is always a "watcher" by the exit to see you don't steal anything, and it is unnerving. I would think that loss prevention could be better addressed as it is at the Home Depot by an alarm going off at the exit door if the item or items haven't been demagnetized. read more

It's a weird time for businesses. It's a weird time for everyone. But Lowe's in South Burlington is a disaster. A couple weeks ago my wife ordered 30 bags of landscaping rocks online to pick up and the next day she received an email saying they were ready. When we came to pick them up, several people looked for the product all over the store -somehow 140 bags of rocks had disappeared. They kept us waiting in the store for nearly two hours while they searched for the product. Now, we're not unreasonable and we understand sh*t happens, but don't email us telling us an order is ready, have us come down and keep us waiting for almost two hours only to tell us sorry our inventory must be odd. Then don't confirm the order as being ready for pick up! We ended up going to Home Depot where we were in and out with the products we needed. Now while this was extremely frustrating (all the time we spent waiting killed our dinner and evening plans), it was not the last straw. Back in January, towards the end of the month, my wife and I purchased some DIY vinyl flooring to start working on our basement floor. When we got around to starting it (early February), we realized that the floor was uneven and if this is the route we wanted to take, we'd have to level it out and put some more work into it. We decided to think about it, but shelf the project temporarily - after all we had 3 months to return everything. About a month later, the pandemic news started to hit and the stay at home order began. Whether you agree with the order or not is irrelevant. I chose to not leave my house unless absolutely necessary (mostly just grocery shopping) during this time. I didn't deem returning 12 packs of DIY flooring to be essential - so I decided to wait until after the order had been lifted. Now, obviously, even in May when the order was initially lifted, the three month period for returns had already passed. You'd think with a state order to stay at home, Lowe's might think about adjusting their return policy to reflect that time period. Especially since hardware stores like Lowe's did fine through this whole pandemic! It's ridiculous to me that I now have to try to sell sealed, perfectly fine packaging of DIY flooring on Craigslist because Lowe's won't adjust their policies to accommodate the issues that have arisen from this pandemic. Lowe's has been conveniently located near other retailers we frequent, so we have always shopped there. After my last few experiences, I will not be shopping there any longer. If you need something for your home, just go to Home Depot. read more

I guess he thought my questions were unnecessary or stupid, so he responded in a very peculiar way. I immediately walked away after the third time. My update doesn't change my rating but I had an interesting experience. I purchased a set of appliances here because of the free delivery and haul away. I live 3 miles from the store so I figured getting something delivered from here would be easier than trying to arrange something with a business farther away. The delivery policy, although possibly well-designed for Lowe's, blows. I have to wait two weeks for delivery despite getting a call from the store a few days after purchase informing me that my items arrived. To deliver my items 3 miles away, Lowe's can only give me a day they intend to do so. On that day, someone will call me and give me a 3-hour window of time when they will come. Since I work, I can't set aside a day to sit around and wait for a call only to sit around and wait for some guys to show up. Again, I am 3 miles away. If you can't do better than that with your delivery schedule then I see no reason to make large purchases from Lowe's. P.S. I discovered that I need a power cord for the dryer that I purchased (by the way, I am still waiting for the complicated delivery formula to make it my turn) and went to Lowe's to buy it. I figured I should get it at the store where I purchased the dryer. It's lame that the appliance does not come with its own source of power but one can hardly blame Lowe's for that. I stood in the appliance section for 20 minutes waiting for help. I then circulated the other departments and could not find a soul to help me. This was at 4:00 and the store was fairly empty. At 4:40 when I left empty-handed, nobody had surfaced to help me. read more

Right up front, I have no particular problem with the store. Friendly sales staff, good inventory, etc. BUT, be wary of buying large equipment. I bought a John Deere riding mower June 2, 2020. Point of sales was great, promised delivery in 6 days, and delivered on schedule. On delivery found the battery was dead. A technician came to the house the next morning with a new batt and installed it, but the machine would not start. Turns out the fuel pump was broken. Couple of days later he came back and repaired that. From there things went well until one day the engine stalled and would not start again. Long story shorter, I eventually got it going again with much smoke, and repetition of the problem, so called for warranty service. It took three weeks for a pick up, and the driver had no idea why he was picking it up. Two days later I got a call from the store asking why they had the machine. I explained. Three weeks later the company had not picked up the machine. More than a week later they called and asked why they had the machine. It had been turned over with no paperwork! They located it based on the serial number. September 6 I sent an email to the store manager. That eventually led to an agreement that Lowes owed me a new machine. On September 22 I finally had the new machine delivered. Battery was dead but took a charge. The new machine even had some parts not included on the original, normal, regular parts. I might buy hardware from Lowes, but I will never make a major purchase that and do not advise you to either. read more

I contracted Lowe's South Burlington to build a fence on my property. After collecting the full payment of nearly $3000, nobody ever contacted me to schedule the installation and the Project Specialist who I'd been working with completely disappeared, ignoring phone calls, voicemails, and emails. I cancelled the contract and hired another company to build the fence, but it took several phone calls to the store manager to get my money refunded. I actually thought I might have to take them to small claims court to get my money back. I will never go to this store again. read more

I recently had the misfortune to try and order a custom vanity top for a bathroom. The first visit went ok but when I tried to reach the person I was working with by telephone this proved to be almost impossible unless you plan to wait a half hour on the phone for no one in that dept picks up. A concise criticism of their unbelievably poor service : 1) There seems an incredible paucity of people working in any dept- is Lowes going under? 2) Those that do help you are for the most part not knowledgeable in their assigned area 3) their software is slow slow slow to get up and does not invclude the needed specifics. Went to appliance department seek replacement for an six-year-old LG French Door with Single Bottom Drawer, 25 cubic foot refrigerator. It had suffered a loss of cooling event and only one repair service we contacted repairs LG refrigerators in Addison County. So check with repair services about warranty and other repairs especially for Samsung and LG. Also check if will the store take it back if you get a "lemon" that fails during the first year before buying a refrigerator from big box stores other than Lowes. We received great knowledgeable service from sales person at Lowes. We ended up getting 4.5 cubic foot compact refrigerator and taking in home the same day because delivery the Whirlpool french door 33 inch wide would be almost a month in the future. Also, another sale priced refrigerator was out of stock with future no delivery date from the warehouse on the system. read more

Well, here is an update... after I was informed 5 months after placing my order with Lowe's that they indeed never placed the order with the manufacturer at all... K called me the next day to say they no longer even make the fence in that sand color... and would I mind white instead? I immediately asked for a refund. Of course we want the fence to match and we don't want white. Now into month six and after several more emails, I have finally gotten the refund in it's entirety for my poor dad who would never have been able to see this through. The ineptness of this company is mind boggling. I ended up going through a local company for dad's fence (FE Hart) which came to about $800 less than Lowe's. They make the fences up on site and the pieces just snap together for a nice sturdy fence (3 of us installed it in about 4.5 hours). The whole thing from start to finish took 2 weeks as opposed to 6 months with Lowe's (for a fence we never rec'd)! Charging for services and materials that you never deliver is fraudulent! read more

It's a large store with a good selection. If you know exactly what you want then this store is an easy 5 stars. If you need even the slightest bit of assistance, you might as well be in the desert with an empty canteen. There are a few pleasant employees I've encountered and kudos to them. Unfortunately, they are few and far between. I don't mean this as in the other employees are rude (although there are a few), rather I mean it as in there only seems to be about three employees working the floor at any given time. I can never find anyone and when I do, they aren't super knowledgeable. Forget about it if you need them to come out to your house to deliver or service anything. "We'll be there between 12:00 and 6:00." Sure, Lowe's, I don't work. I don't mind waiting for you all day. P.S. After waiting all morning for a service guy to come (he was pleasant for what it is worth) it has been determined that my dryer was damaged in transit, meaning the delivery people were rough with it when they were slamming it into my house. Great job Lowe's. I could have found a pair of drunks at the bar that would have done a better job with the delivery of my dryer. read more

I've had mixed experiences getting questions answered and most of the time I was better off googling things. I recently ordered carpet and its installation from Lowe's. It will be the last purchase I make from that store (S. Burlington). The initial order I made came in as a far lesser grade carpet, which the dept. manager also found and rejected the order once it arrived. When the real carpet and service installers arrived, they came from out of state, with little to no tools. I loaned them screwdrivers, brooms and a vacuum. They were going to tear out the old carpet and replace without cleaning the debris. In the midst of cutting the carpet in the middle of a second bedroom I stopped them as I could see they had no real clue about how to decide on orienting the carpet and cuts. They were sub contractors of the contractors and I'm guessing they were day labors at best--paid less than the labor I secured. The first day, one felt sick so they all left early. The next day they worked till 8pm and when their boss from Connecticut called about 8pm he had the audacity to tell me there remained about an hour of work--which was so far from accurate as they had just begun to do three stories of stairway. After he argued with me from afar, the (three) staff showed up the next day and worked almost 5 hours to finish the job. While they were polite, they were unskilled for the most part and never cleaned up after the job. They left all the doors off which I am still trying to secure handyman services to trim and re-hang. I won't patronize Lowe's again. They have screwed up orders for me in the past and they just have no credibility in my experience. It's a sad case in leadership and overall execution of services. It's a shame as I am sure there are better abled people to lead and work in this store. read more
