In Sept. 2014 we went to the Lowe's at 6606 N. Division St. in Spokane and ordered carpet, pad, and baseboard. We asked the flooring sales associate (Christine) how long it would take to have the carpet installed at our home. She said it would take about 10 business days for the carpet to arrive at the store and then another week before it would be installed. We told Christine that we were going south for the winter and would be closing up our house the first part of November so, 3 weeks to have the carpet installed would work fine. We paid for everything and waited to hear from Lowe's regarding the actual install date. One week later, Christine called us and said the carpet we chose was discontinued and we would have to go back to the store to choose another carpet for installation. We live 90 minutes away from Lowe's so it takes a good portion of the day to make a trip to the store and back home. We picked out another carpet only to be told a week later that it was also discontinued. We ended up having to go back to Lowe's a total of 4 times to order carpet. Each time we reminded Christine that the carpet had to be installed by the first part of November. Finally, we had an install date for Nov.4. After installing the carpet pad, the carpet was unrolled and found to be defective. The carpet installers said they would have to return the roll of carpet to the store and then it would be reordered. We told the carpet installers and the flooring installation associate (Chad) at the store that we were out of time since we were leaving Nov. 15. Chad said he thought they could reorder the carpet and get it installed before our leave date. The week we were scheduled to leave I called the store and asked what the status was for our carpet installation. Another flooring installation associate (Cindy) said the carpet had been reordered and it was on a truck. She would call me back later that day to tell me when it was expected to arrive at the store. I told her that if the carpet was not installed by Nov.14 we wanted our money back because we were closing up our house and leaving for the winter. I also informed Cindy that the carpet installers brought the wrong baseboard and they had left it at my home when they took the carpet back to the store. Cindy called and told us that they would not be able to install the carpet before we left so we would be refunded everything except the carpet pad which had been installed. I told Cindy to have the baseboard picked up by next day which was Nov. 14. She said we would get a refund in 3 to 10 days once the baseboard was picked up and returned to the store. I told her the baseboard must be picked up by tomorrow (Nov. 14) because we were leaving on Nov. 15. Cindy became rude and sarcastic to my husband when he informed her that it does not take 3-10 days to receive a refund on our credit card - it can be refunded the same day.She said that it was store policy to tell customers that it takes 3 to 10 days for a refund even though she was well aware that it does not take that long. She also said that we would not get a refund until Lowe's had picked up the baseboard and returned it to the store. It was now Nov.13. I told Cindy the baseboard would have to be picked up by tomorrow, Nov. 14. She said she would call me in the morning (Nov. 14) to let me know what time someone would be out that day to pick up the baseboard. It is 1pm on Nov. 14 and no phone call from Cindy and no one has come to pick up the baseboard. We feel we have been lied to and treated with rudeness and sarcasim throughout this two and half month ordeal. We have never been treated so poorly by store associates. I'm a big fan of Lowe's. Always have been, always will be, but I tried calling the Lowe's located at 6606 N. Division in Spokane and my experience was horrible. I called to speak with a manager to verify a few things for me. Each time I called (SIX TIMES, to be exact) I asked for a manager and was hung up on all 6 times. Each time the same thing, "How can I direct your call?" "A manager, please." Click. Finally on the 7th call, I asked the same girl that I had spoken to 6 times already, Haley, why she kept hanging up on me because all I wanted to do was speak to a manager, and she hung up on me yet again. I finally was able to get someone else on the phone, an older lady, I asked if she was a manager, she said, "Uh, yeah, sure. What do you want?" I told her about being hung up on several times and she didn't even apologize or express any concern. All she said was, "Maybe she's new or something, I don't know." When I asked her for help (the original reason why I called) she said told me to hold on a second and set the phone down on the counter. I could tell it was the counter because it was very loud and I heard talking in the back ground. And there I sat. Waiting on the counter. For who? Another manager? I don't know. I waited and waited and finally hung up. I gave up trying to call back. I am very disappointed with the customer service that I experienced, when I clearly needed help. first off they for got to take my drug test through the hiring process, had to contact them and ask them when they wanted to drug test me. after that it took them over a month just to schedule orientation. first day of orientation at different store then the one i was hired for. the hr manager called my store and told them that she offered me a job a year ago and that i did a no call no show on her.. not sure how i can do a no call no show at a company i never worked at. was hired for a lawn and garden at 11$ an hr then was immediately demoted to cart pusher for min wage. was wrote up multiple time for not having experience for operator a floor lift which i never told them i had nor was on my resume. asked for training but got the run around for over a month they "didnt have time" was told to clean a bathroom that some customer sprayed shit all over after it sat for an hr when i got back from lunch "im the only person they got to clean it" apparently i was the only person in that entire store that knows how to clean a toilet. was told i had to cut my hair while other male employees had longer hair then me.. my first day of work the hr manager told me i had to stay till 5pm but stopped my pay at 4pm. loosing customer orders was a daily thing we lost thousands of dollars of flooring. lawn tractors. bathroom re models. was the sole person pushing carts i asked when i would be working in lawn and garden the dept i agreed to work for was always told "next week".. asked to be cashier trained but was told no. was told i would get a min two weeks training.. fork lift, cashier, lawn and garden, but my first day i was thrown a radio and was told to get to work.. again asked about my two weeks of training i was promised but there was always an excuse as to why. came in sick with food poisioning and when i informed them i just blow chunks in the bathroom and im going home i was accused of being hungover. and that i need to "sweat it out" was giving the sole responsibility for all customer load outs and gathering carts and if i was gather carts i got in trouble for not loading customer it was loading customer got in trouble to not doing carts.. was given a different dress coade then everyone else was told every one first week is on the front end part of training but people hired after me never worked front end and i stayed there. no one get proper training so no one not even managers know what it going on. managers dont communicate. was denied holiday pay. had 6 manager pulling me six different way and when i went with one the other five were mad at me there is more i can tell you about my experience with lowes but im tired... i only worked there for 1 month befor i said fuck this and walked out read more
