I had to get some copies of a key so I popped in on a Monday afternoon. I was directed to the key copying machine and read the sign that says find an associate to help you. That turned out to be a little tricky since the store is huge and wasn't busy. Luckily, I ran in to Jordan in paint and he kindly agreed to help. DO NOT BUY NEW OR USED APPLIANCES HERE!!!!!!! Got a washer and dryer. The washer worked. The dryer was delivered but not installed because they didn't feel comfortable installing the dryer. I had a company come out to check my vents which took time for my new dryer to sit there. Got the OK and they attached. DRYER STILL DID NOT WORK, it wasn't getting hot. LOWES then sent a tech to verify I was in fact accurate with the diagnoses. Sure enough, IT DOESN'T GET HOT like I said and they will tell Lowe's to replace. NOW, they are telling me after they informed me they will replace it getting my hopes up and thinking wow this company is great and takes responsibility of their mess up. NOPE!, now they are telling me to call the manufacturer who doesn't have openings for another week or 2 basically pushing it off their hands into the manufacturer. I've had this dryer just sitting here for weeks now. ON TOP IT ALL, during this whole process I was told "since you didn't purchase with a Lowe's credit card we cannot easily replace, and we cannot honor our 48 hour period". (Regardless their technician didn't even hook it up for me). So my hard earned money I work hard for is not good enough to replace their screwed up inventory. Look at Famous Tate before purchasing major appliances from Lowes. The good out of this bad situation, is that I discovered Famous Tate, with a Sales team that is knowledgeable, and prices are better or same as Lowes. Received both major appliances purchased from FT within two days and saved at least $1100.00. Plus free delivery. The Water's location has the worst customer service. My story. Purchase a Range hood from Lowes on a Sunday, with the notion that it was going to be installed on Tuesday. On Tuesday, after opening the box, noticed that the contents was not properly wrapped and either contents was removed or it was a return. Went back to Lowes with the Range hood on Wednesday for an exchange and was told that since it was 72-hours after purchase, and the return policy was 48-hours, they would not exchange or refund the money. FIrst of all, did not know that there was any purchase from Lowes that had a 48-hour return. The Manager at Water's refused the exchange and not willing to budge. We contacted Corporate customer service and they refused any assistance and kept stating the return policy of 48-hours, even though it was just 24-hours over. Contacted Customer Service and they refused to provide any assistance on an exchange, which is the only thing we requested. Sent numerous emails to the customer care service complaint email, and they respond with an AI generated email that stated there is a "Link" on the receipt with the return policy. A link on the receipt, believe that? This is not the first bad encounter, but the one that got me to write this review. Their return policy is the worst, as the customer service team does not want to hear your concerns or complaints. They go by the book, when they should consider exceptions when it seems to be valid. So, if looking for a major appliance, check out Famous Tate, before going to Lowes, the Sales Team will win your business. read more

Diss appointed at our last visit here. Its our neighborhood Lowe's so we stop by and always fund what we need . But this visit we needed help with paint, physically got someone, she was NOT willing to help. She keep pointing around saying " pick anything you want" ...I wouldn't be asking my specific questions if I was confident in what I was picking ! Food for thought. Next we went to Customer service to ask again a specific question and the answer was SHORT and completely close ended. She also needed to put a brush through that hair. Last but not least we needed WOOD glue, asked someone where that was and he said "maybe check isle 12, theres lots of glues for different things. If its not there then I dont know" Like absolute WOW . I am not a handy person and all my questions are directly related to THEIR job and no one knew a clue & everyone definitely is miserable at their job. read more

Today I went with my son to pick up some paint supplies for a small project in our home. While browsing, we noticed a colorful lamp that would go perfect in my son's room. I decided to pick it up for him and give it to him later as a birthday present in the next few weeks--to which he was thrilled. Well, we finish our browsing and proceed to get on line to pay our items. After paying for all our items, which totaled 70.27 cents, we proceed to walk out of the store. I was in front and my son was behind me with the cart. I realize my son is not right behind me and it's because he was stopped by a worker lady named Tanya, who claimed the box that our lamp was in was too heavy. (how she guessed this from the cart, I don't know) She went on to open the taped box and remove all of its contents, all while saying that she doesn't understand why the box is so heavy. Mind you, it is a five bulb base standing lamp. It is as heavy as expected for a lamp of that size. She then asks me if I minded her sticking everything neatly back in the box, and I replied no, that is a birthday gift, and I want a new box. She calls out to an older gentlemen to bring us a new one. By this point, my face is reflecting my annoyance, yet I tried to gain composure as to not make a scene; I was with my son after all. The older man tells us there are no more in the store, and I should go to Oldsmar as there are 8 left over there. I told him there were 3 when we picked out the one they opened, and I sent my son to get another one, to which he found right away. By this point, we have been stopped, embarrassed, and then made to wait longer than we needed to. I cannot believe in a town so diverse, that this type of racial profiling still exists. I have shopped here many times with my family, and will shop here no more--ever! Yes, my son was in very casual clothes as it's his day off. I cannot do business with a company that lets its employers treat people in any type of profiling manner, just because they don't like the way they look or fit the profile of people who have money. We were in the store! WE HAD MONEY! I have sent my complaints to the Lowes complaint department. I hope and pray that this matter is attended to. As it stands, I don't even want my children walking in that place. I will go to Home Depot, or another store that values my money and my time and deems the working class as respected and not dejected. This review is for the W. Imagine that it's about 3 in the morning and you're sound asleep. Suddenly, and from out of nowhere comes this demonic shrieking sound that lifts you out of the bed in startled confusion. Now we're not talking about the gentle electronic beep beep beep from your alarm clock -- nope, this would be sound of the smoke detector / fire alarm. The one that sounds like that blaring klaxon horn made popular in those World War II submarine movies, right after the Captain hollers "Dive Dive Dive!!!!!" There are a few moments of sheer terror as you try to find your jeans, your shoes, your keys, and your cellphone in the dark, and then burst out the front door of your condo to start the evacuation process down the stairs. But wait....the fire alarms in the hallway are not honking, and no one else is standing on the landing. Hmmmmm... So back inside the condo as you carefully inspect the kitchen, the electrical closet, and any place that might be throwing off clouds of smoke. Then you turn your attention to the smoke detector which now sounds like a honking bull moose in heat, and you finally realize that this spawn of Satan has malfunctioned in the middle of the night. OK, so all you need to do is unscrew the base off the unit, remove the battery, and try to get back to sleep. Except that the base does not want to unscrew, and out of frustration you rip the unit off of the ceiling, smash it on the tile floor and stomp on it until the damn thing finally rolls over and dies. Fast forward to the next morning, when you sheepishly roll out of bed and see the remnants of the dead smoke detector lying in the hallway. After making profuse apologies to your neighbors, you climb into the car and head off to Lowe's in search of a new smoke detector. This particular Lowe's is located on Waters Avenue, right next to the Veteran's Expressway, and it's in the same shopping center as Chick-Fil-A and Target. Thankfully they have a large collection of hardware items and household things, including smoke detectors. The guys in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning area were doubled-over with laughter as explained my situation, and they helped me to select a new CO2 and smoke detector to install in the condo. I carried my precious selection up to the self check-out area where I was able to scan, bag, and pay for the new device with a minimum of hassle. Now I don't suggest that you rip things off of the ceiling in the middle of the night just so you can visit this particular Lowe's, but you will find that they have a great selection of stuff to improve your quality of life, and the folks who work there are super friendly and very knowledgeable. read more

So, I thought it would save time to order online, pay online, and run in quickly to pickup. No searching through store and waiting in checkout line. After all, they have a dedicated pickup desk for people to do just that. Only problem is that no one works at the pickup desk. There is just a sign telling you to go to customer service, where even though there are two people there, they are only waiting on one person at a time. As I wait (there are 9 people in line at this point), I think "at least my two items should be ready when I get to front of line". No such luck. When I get to front of customer service line, this poor overworked clerk has to call someone to go get my two items and bring them up to her. I could have done that instead of waiting in the customer service line. I'm beginning to really see that the online order/in store pickup process is actually much longer than just shopping the old fashioned way. The line behind me is growing. People seem annoyed. I want to tell them "it's not my fault." She ends up having to ask for my item multiple times in both English and Spanish before the correct item is finally brought. I'm really regretting not just going to the shelf and getting it myself. Next time, I will do that. No, next time I'll just go to Home Depot. read more

My fiancée recently purchased a miter saw at your store. Being that it was Father's Day I walked around the store trying to figure out what to buy as a gift. Being that I know very little about these matters; I went to get my fiancé and we ran into Carlos Vega; who was absolutely exceptional! First impressions are vital when you are greeted with someone that has a great smile and has a desire to really want to help you . Patio chairs purchased: Today, I had an amazing shopping experience at Lowe's! When I walked into the patio furniture area, James/associate greeted me and asked me if he could help me find anything! Wow! My situation: I had screen prints of a 2-chair set offer online $69.75, store pickup (ad last week, no expiration date). However, today, the $69.75 price was available online only plus a $79 delivery fee (no in-store pickup allowed). Additionally, the in-store price now $112 for the same set. Great news! I spoke to Danny/manager, explained my plight, showed him the screen prints so that he could verify that it was the same product. He was very professional, did not hesitate to make it right!! There are other home improvement store in the close area so I feel like selection and prices are important here. In terms of prices compared to other big name home improving stores they are relatively the same. The do have a different selection of things in comparison to each other. If your a DIY'er than this is a good places for you. I would mostly come here I I need something really fast or another store didn't have what I need. Tools and such can get a little pricy here but on the flip side the quality is something you can count on...depending on the band of course, I'm just saying thy do have quality things here. But to be honest if your gonna get some more expensive tools I would shop around the area, you might find some better deals or specials. read more

Every time I walk into this location I wonder why the unemployment rate in this country is so low. Why? Because they never have enough employees working. A majority of people (sometimes including myself) know what they are looking for, but just don't know exactly where to find it when they visit a home improvement store. The limited staff that they do have isn't the nicest group of employees out there. When you finally do chase an employee down to ask them a question, they always respond like you're bothering them. The store itself is nice. It's a good size, clean, and well organized. Don't use the self-checkout lanes because they never work and you always end up needing assistance with them, which ends up being more of a hassle. Drive the extra mile to the Oldsmar location because it is well worth it. read more

The phone is rarely answered so I tried to skip a step and order my vanity online. I was pleased to see my item was there and the process was easy. When I called to confirm I was told the item wasn't in store and the gentlemen didn't know when it even would be and had zero information. When you have guys working for you and picking items up the answer "I don't know" is money costly. Good products. Very difficult purchasing. read more

Two recent purchases -- a water softener and washer/dryer set. For the water softener, the sales person was super helpful. He walked us through how to install it so we could do it ourselves, saving a bundle. For the washer/dryer set, the sales person was pleasant and efficient. He actually made a mistake on our order and I didn't catch it. He called me later that evening to let me know and fixed it immediately over the phone. The appliances were delivered as promised on Sunday morning, less than 24 hours after our purchase. The delivery people were great, showed up on time, and explained how to use the new machines. read more

Unbelievable the managers don't know there own products warranty terms. Kobalt tools a Lowes private label brand carries a lifetime NO HASSLE guarantee. Apparently everyone here now doesn't understand this. On the box it simply says if there is a problem return to place of purchase for replacement. Doesn't say bring your original receipt. Doesn't say contact kobalt directly. Not sure they even understand it is their own brand. After reading it to them and explaining that it doesn't require receipt doesnt required I contact anyone. Very simple they replace the failed item with no hassle. Took a while but it certainly wasnt no hassle. Some retraining of the management and returns staff here is badly needed. I can always go to Home Depot if this is going to be the way things are now. read more

I only visit this Lowe's location when it is convenient. My first choice is Ace Hardware on Hillsborough Avenue and second choice, Lowe's location in Oldsmar. So often at this location I have to interrupt their employees having conversations amongst themselves and do not acknowledge me (the customer) until I say something to make my presence known, even though I am standing right next to them. Visiting the Lowe's in Oldsmar is a completely different experience as the staff seems to be "right on" in asking if you need help and take care of you promptly. It may not be Lowe's corporation, but maybe the management at this location. read more

I frequent this Lowes location a lot 4 times a week The staff is ok if you can find one . Waited almost 1 hour the first trip on a question on a lawn mower 1 hour later I Had to leave . The very next day I came back to inquire on the same lawn mower it took a total of 45 mins they did answer the question after going to the customer service desk and hitting the help button a total of 3 times . I did not buy the lawn mower and they were out of the Dremel bit set I needed . A least the manager was professional . I wish I had never bought a generator from Lowe's. I wish I had never bought the protection plan from Lowe's. What a hassle. They will do anything to try to get out of trying to fix a generator that's within the warranty.. On top of it they wanted to charge me $80 for an oil change that probably takes about 3 minutes tops. The manager there does nothing but give excuses to why they have such poor customer care. This time there's have my generator for over a month. I went to go pick it up and they can't find it. Personally, I like Lowe's. There are aisles and aisles that I can meander and find new things that I never knew existed! Their is staff scurrying around in their red vests and they are always quite patient with my half questions, because most of the time I only know a little bit about what I am asking about! I am always sent to pick up a part for a toilet or something that I have no comprehension what it actually does or why I need a new one. So with my limited knowledge and instructions, I try to sound intelligent in what I am asking. I know the people in the red vests can see right through to my ignorance on the topic, but they are always polite, very helpful and never let on that they know, I have no idea what I am talking about. Yes they are discreet about our shortcomings and lack of knowledge. Returns are a breeze, as long as you keep your receipt and packaging, no problems. I actually enjoy strolling most of the aisles and seeing what is new or trending in the world of home repairs. How weird am I, okay I admit I may have a compulsion for getting lost in big stores and looking for treasure. I have come across close outs at unbelievable savings, but you have to hunt for those treasures, they are buried! What's a girl to do? When you have no idea what you are doing or looking for, fake it, have a look of confidence and ask a lot of questions! read more

Another example of you get what you pay for. At some point you get too big and you fail to deliver on the facade you put up. They were very understaffed on 20 May and faced with at least four customers in one department but no only one person assigned to cover four departments. Today, I call about my delivery and had to go through the automated telephone maze to finally get someone who didn't know how deliveries were currently being handled as the was no one in the delivery department - I was told I'd be called the day before to set up delivery. Went at about 8 am on a Sunday morning looking to get some paint and there was no one at the paint counter. I wondered the store looking for someone but the place was like a ghost town. I had to go all the up to the front of the store and ask on of the cashiers and she paged someone over the loud speaker and said he would "probably" meet me at the paint counter by the time I made it back there. Well, he wasn't there when I made it back. I had to wait another 25 minutes and another page for him to show his face. NEVER AGAIN: The actual buying experience was okay. But the nightmare, the complete nightmare, started about three weeks later. First off, the delivery date kept changing, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Finally, a week or so after the last known delivery date the real nightmare started. One of the five appliances got lost in transit. Lowes only knew it wasn't in the manufacturer's warehouse and not theirs in Orlando. Where it was - who knows. To make a long story short they came in about two weeks late. And one of the stoves was dented on both top corners. (I did get several hundred dollars off for that.) SEVERAL TIMES I would call the appliance department and NO ONE answers. Today I called because I think I have an issue with the microwaves and after 14 minutes and 48 seconds I FINALLY get the guy in appliances. I knew who he was by his voice and I also knew that he speaks very broken English which only added to my frustration - we were barely communicating. So, after he finally answers the phone what does he say, "I don't know the number can I take your number and call you back." This two-months experience has taught me NO ONE in the appliance department will ever call you back. The store manager does, the assistant store manager does but NO ONE in the appliance department EVER WILL. And to put more salt in the wound, he put me on hold longer to get a piece of paper to write my number down which as I've already said would have turned out to be a worthless evolution anyways. I've bought MANY things from this Waters Avenue Lowes, but you rest assured that any future purchases I make will not include appliances. I wonder what the corporate office would do if they knew how totally ineffective handles their appliance purchased. read more

They say they'll take anuones coupons but they don't and they kick you out for sampling the soil in the gardening section. It's not my fault I have a protein deficiency.deficiency. what else am I supposed to eat. Now I have to send my grandson to go and buy duct tape and garbage bags for me. Spent over $300 here and roughly about another 300 every other week and had to wait almost an hour for five pieces of metal because the lady in home and garden was too lazy to go get them for us from the back. Then when we finally did get them after waiting so long we asked if she could put them in our truck since we waited so long and spent so much money and she said no you can load them yourself and walked away. Although I have a Home Depot right around the corner from my house, I find myself driving a little further and coming to Lowes occasionally instead. I find that the selection is better and there is a lot more variety to the different things you may want. I was doing a complete master bathroom remodel and compared to Home Depot, I feel like they had an entire aisle more of vanity options and sunk combinations. In terms of tools, it is a much better layout and more options from starter sets to the full contractor equipment and more importantly, there always seems to be someone around to help answer questions. I find at Home Depot that the feel is more that it is built for contractors who know exactly what they need and do not have the need to ask for help. Lowes seems to be built more for the DIY individual. read more

What can I say? It's convenient, reasonably priced, the people are helpful and I can usually find what I'm looking for! Nothing really negative about the experience - but also nothing really notable.
