My wife received a Kobalt Weed Waker as a gift from her father, and it came with 2 batteries. After about 8 months, one of the batteries was bad, would not charge and the indicator on the battery would just flash all the green lights. I went to Lowes to get a replacement because it supposedly has a 3 yr. warranty on it and the battery date is 05/22. After talking with the return individual, she stated I needed a receipt.. Her father has passed away and the receipt is with him. Lowes refused to do anything without the receipt. I also called Kobalt who stated the same. I have never had any issues getting Dewalt batteries replace within their warranty period, but Lowes won't honor their replacement policy without a receipt. wow. absolute buffoonery. my father is retired, on a fixed income. i try to keep his spending down as he's also experiencing the onset of dementia. i took him to this lowes to replace a broken window blind. we were encouraged by finding: the blinds we needed the color we wanted AND they just happened to be on clearance sale(see pic)... that is AFTER i had to go to the "customer service" area to request someone to cut the blinds down.... after 10 minutes passed & still no help... i grab the nearest associate & HE called for help... after 10 minutes more passed & STILL no help... my sister grabbed an associate & HE called for help... finally after 5 minutes more we got some help. then we headed to the self check out. i scanned the code and the price was $100? how did it go from $50 to $100??? ALL of the prices shown for ALL of the blinds in that WHOLE area were on clearance. NONE of the blinds were regularly priced. but the CRANKY cashier at the self check out (who obviously had a prepared statement because it came out of her very early & very smoothly) said, "SEE! Ryan H helped me out. Really great service. Placed an online order for some things. Part of the order was cancelled, due to allegedly being out of stock. When I showed up in person at this location, I asked some staff for help. They were very polite, informed me it wasn't their area but got me the help I needed. Ryan H responded, looked up the item, explained why it was probably cancelled in the online order, brought the item out on a cart, wheeled it up the counter with me, helped me load it in my car, and had me on my way. While I was waiting for Ryan to return, the original staff even checked back with me to ensure I was getting the help I needed. If I could give zero stars I would. We've always driven 30 minutes to shop at Lowes, bypassing several other hardware stores to get there because they've always had a very customer friendly return policy. All these years I've never had a return refused. Ever. Today they said corporate won't let them override any returns past 90 days. So we're stuck with a bunch of stuff, new in the box with a receipt, because corporate decided not to let the stores take care of their customers. I hate to break it to you Lowes, but Home Depot has all the same stuff you do and you just flushed a customer-friendly policy we've counted on for years. You've flushed us and all of our business along with it. As well as anyone else who bypassed other hardware stores to get to yours because of the customer-friendly policies you USED to have. I have been waiting two months for Lowe's to fix or replace our Maytag washer. This experience with their warranty company has been the absolute worst nightmare I've ever been through!!!!! They sell junk and charge you for a worthless warranty on top of it. The first repair company blew us off after two weeks. Then a second repair company came out and tried to fix it. It lasted one day. They came out again and recommended replacement but Lowe's chose to order new parts for $750. Now waiting again!!!!!! I can buy a new washer for that. WTF????? They claim they require staff to wear masks but I watched as an employee took off her bandana (not a mask) multiple times to blow her nose/wipe her face, then went right back without washing her hands. The garden center at this store used to be the best among the big-box options in Tucson, with a wide selection of healthy plants that were mostly appropriate for the Tucson area. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed by this garden center for the past couple of years. Today I was shocked to see it stocked with plants that are not only inappropriate for our water-consciousness Tucson landscapes, but stand no chance of surviving in this environment no matter how much water is thrown at them. The specimens I saw for sale today included Norway Spruce (Picea abies) and Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestrus), plants that wouldn't even be appropriate for Mt Lemmon. I sincerely hope whoever buys these plants keeps their receipts and holds Lowe's to their guarantee. read more

The story begins when I take my 77 year old mother to pick out a dishwasher at the Kolb and Speedway location in Tucson, Arizona. We found one and paid for installation and haul away but needed to wait for the unit to come to the store so that it could be picked up by the installer. 10 days later they finally schedule the installation and come out and refuse to install it because it is at an angle to the sink. No looking under the cabinets, no effort at all, one glance and he decides it needs longer cord, water line and drain line. Of course they will not use any of the existing lines because they cannot warranty that, even though they are all new lines, the previous failed dishwasher was only 3 years old. But the kicker is the installer wants an additional $263 to install. That's on top of the $250 I had already paid. I went to the store to try to get someone reasonable to talk to and I did. The associate was very understanding and empathetic and had offered to get the manager for me. That's when it actually got bad. He looked up the notes and then agreed that it was justifiable saying, "our hands are tied." So they actually believe it's ok to charge a 77 year old woman $515 to install a $489 dishwasher! The manager was actually defending the charge, no further thoughts. He had the department manager refund my installation charge and the department manager was empathetic and told me it all seemed wrong but that couldn't change the outcome one bit. The last insult was a call from the Lowe's installation team that wanted to "explain" to me how $515 made sense. I explained that even if they installed all new lines and took an hour to do it $515 is insane. It was worse than talking to a wall. It's too bad. I used to have good experience with Lowes but never again. read more

I asked Jerry where the police were and he told me they were on aisle 30. He was right I went back to Jerry to thank him for his help. He said hurry up the conversation I'm making a phone call. Unfortunately, I have to write this bad review about Lowes Home Improvement store in Tucson AZ. After spending thousands upon thousands at the Speedway location in Tucson and having multiple delivery debacles I will not shop at this location again. I reached my limit after buying an extended service contract with my washer, dryer, and refrigerator only 13 months ago. After over two weeks with no LG refrigerator (just died all of a sudden) and getting the run around with Assurant the warranty company, the manager at Lowes, and Lowes Customer Service, I receive an email saying that Lowes was giving me a gift card in lieu of fixing the LG refrigerator. It took them 2 WEEKS TO FIGURE IT OUT!!!! I called Assurant and Lowes several times in the 2 weeks and there was not one person that actually cared!!!! After getting the gift card we went into the store to buy a more expensive refrigerator, but I was told that I needed to pay $40 to haul away the old one. Now keep in mind it was Lowes that said they would not fix the refrigerator. I said no, I want it hauled away for free, as it was Lowes telling me that they would not fix it. It was agreed upon at the store that there was no haul away charges and the next day the new refrigerator was delivered by the same guy that damaged my new house door one year prior. I proceeded to tell him the doors to the old fridge needed to be removed due to them damaging my front door last year and he told me that there was nothing saying about taking away the refrigerator! He then started arguing with me! He also behaved that way a year ago, saying he didn't damage the door, when in fact, the other guy knew he did too. I would have never agreed to the haul away charge and would not have bought another refrigerator from Lowes after living for two weeks with no food and spending a lot to eat out for two weeks. I told him to call his boss that there must be a mistake and he refused telling me that his boss was in bed sleeping!!!! The problem escalated as I tried calling Lowes and getting someone to help me. Where is customer service training at this store? Nonexistent!!!!! The manager at the store was also argumentative with me, once I reached a manager and he refused to call the delivery people to tell them to take the old refrigerator away, telling me that I had to call them myself and I needed to pay the $40. When I spoke with RXO delivery all I got was a lecture from him and he pointed to Lowes! The Lowes manager even told me that he could not find my original sale in their computer system and told me that I did not have an extended warranty!!!!! This nonsense went on and on.... I just spoke to customer service and explained the situation with someone that kindly spoke to me and found a solution to the problem. Finally, after dealing with this terrible service I found a caring person to resolve the issue and the refrigerator will be picked up on Monday. LOWES WHY DID IT HAVE TO COME TO THIS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE? GUESS WHAT? JUST OPENED THE NEW REFRIGERATOR AND ALL THE PACKING MATERIAL WAS LEFT IN IT AND NOT REMOVED. AND...YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP... THE GUY PUT ON THE FREEZER HANDLE UPSIDE DOWN...LAST YEAR HE PUT THE HANDLES ON THE DOOR BACKWARDS! SORRY LOWES YOU HAVE LOST A GREAT CUSTOMER UNLESS YOU START TRAINING YOUR PEOPLE TO HELP THE CUSTOMER RATHER THAN ARGUE AND NOT BELIEVE THEM. I AM NOT A LIAR AND I RESENT THE MANAGER TREATING ME AS SUCH. ALL HE HAD TO DO IS LOOK AT MY RECEIPT IN THE SYSTEM AND SEE THAT I PAID FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I live about a mile from this store and have been going to this location for years so when I decided to get a new dryer late one night I went online, researched, and ordered from what Lowes online calls the E Tucson store - this store on Speedway. Lowe's computers wisely had the Foothills store fulfill the order via a 3rd party installer and when I had a few issues with the delivery, but I didn't notice that at first so I went to the East Tucson store and spoke with a manager - Tyler. Even though none of the issues with the order or delivery were caused by Tyler or his crew at this store, they were very helpful, took ownership of my problem, and tried hard to make things right, and I appreciate that. Next time I need an appliance I'll skip shopping online and just come directly to this store. read more

I was told that the store in Marana had 5! But they were unable to get that item to this store or delivered to my residence. I was advised to cancel my order (which would NEVER arrive even though I paid for it!) and get my money refunded then go to Marana to buy the item. Do you love being treated as if your time is not valuable, and hate keeping your hard earned money? Do you enjoy waiting all day for contractors to show up to put in an hour worth of work or less. Then look no further, this is the place for you! Purchased materials and scheduled a very small shower remodel, a project that was supposed to take 2 weeks. Of course they wanted payment upfront. Materials arrived to the store and I was never notified. My shower was torn out and just left in a demolished state until the contractors could work me into their busy schedules. 6 weeks later, its not complete despite being expected to be home during their installation windows at their contractor's beck and call. Twice at least I was given a time window to expect workers only to have them never show. The original fixtures did not fit properly, so the contractor met me to assist finding ones that do fit only to have them also not fit, and the remodel was not even completed as per the contracts specification. I've brought these issues up once and although the manager I spoke with was sympathetic, it didn't change anything. I've requested another meeting with management, and will update depending on how that goes but as of right now my family will never shop at Lowes again. read more

We bought a washing machine from Lowe's on Aug 6, 2021. We should have been wary when I knew more about the washers we were looking at then the representative in appliances. They set up delivery for the next day, in the afternoon. They use a third party company to deliver. They driver called me about 9am on Saturday and said he was on the way. When I said I was scheduled for 1-4, he said he had morning. So I let him deliver. We payed $30 for him to take away the washer, but he said there wasn't enough room on his truck and he'd have to come back (yes, I should have said, "you took a washer off, you can put one on", but it was very rushed and I didn't think of it). He was in a hurry (B/c he had too many deliveries), and the whole delivery and set-up of the new washer was stressful. He never came back to get the old washer, and after repeated phone calls the next day (Sunday), we received a call late Sunday saying there were truck problems and they'd have to come Tuesday. No room Monday. Very angry, we called the manager Monday morning, and he did handle it and had one of his drivers come pick it up that afternoon. That driver worked for the store, and he was much more knowledgeable. He fixed something that the previous driver had messed up (our washer was leaking). Lowes should get rid of their current contractor for deliveries! On top of all that, when we were buying the washer, the salesman helped us buy a washer that qualified for the $200 rebate from the water company. However, when I tried to fill out the rebate paperwork just now, I found out you need the model and serial number of the old washer to get the rebate. So now we are out $200. Needless to say, we are frustrated that the salesman did not make sure we knew that. I would have left this comment on Lowes' website, but I could find no place to give feedback. There are lots of things we like about Lowes. Especially their military discount. But we will not use them to buy a major appliance again. We will probably go to Christies or another appliance store. Yes, they are more expensive, but you get knowledgeable salesmen and delivery/set-up. read more

Went to Lowe's New Year's day due to a hot water heater going out. Purchased a AO Smith 50 gallon tank, took it home and installed it only to have it not produce hot water even after 24 hours of installation. Next day we called out a plumber to make sure we made no mistakes installing the unit, only to be told we did install the unit correctly per the instructions and recieved a written report. Called the store and spoke to Ryan (from Lowes) and he mentioned we would have to contact the company AO Smith to get a Return Authorization number, contacted AO Smith customer service which btw is only open M-F 0700-0700 CT so had to wait the next morning so now going on 2 days without any hot water, only to get Customer Service from Jason who was extremely rude, would not bother with the report from the plumber as he had left off the resistance readings from the Thermostat and elements even though the reports stated the Thermostat was not working and the Element was bad even though the unit was getting power. Jason refused to give a RA number and basically stated they would do nothing until we get those numbers despite it's winter and refused to allow us to return it to the store. Returned to Lowes again, an elderly salesman on the floor in Lowes (who was a very nice and caring gentleman) again tried to assist us with AO Smith on the phone and they again refused to help us, finally after approx 2hrs in the store with and AO Smith on the phone they very reluctantly agreed to pay for another plumbing company to come out and inspect the unit BUT NOT UNTIL 2 FEB. expecting us to wait a month without hot water just because they refuse to allow the unit to be returned. Which forced us to purchase another AO Smith unit as that is the only product Lowe's carry's. That works fine and was installed the same way the first one was done. We got ahold of the original plumber we used the first time who helped us out and did a courtsey call and returned again at no charge to us and redid the resistant numbers and it turns out the upper element had no reading, the 2 theromstates and lower element had good reading, he then pulled out the upper element to inspect it, and it had no visable damage indicating it was a bad element. My partner and the plumber attempted to contacted AO Smith for over an hour as AO Smith requested to be contacted while the plumber was at the house Jason was on another call and and the person at AO Smith handling the call became rude when my boyfriend and the plumber after another half hour told her he could not wait any longer and needed to go and attempted to give her the report that the unit was still bad and was hung up on them. This plumber also mentioned 2 other plumbing companies he knew had dropped AO Smith due to problems with this company trying to get warranty repairs completed. Bottom line my boyfriend who is a 100% veteran has spent over $70K on jobs and has used Lowes for several years including installing water heaters in the past and now we are now stuck with an other additional water heater that does not work and are of the cost of that unit of over $430.00 because Lowes' won't let us return it due to a lack of a RA number from AO Smith, and AO Smith refuses to gives one stating there is nothing wrong with it and has no compasion for the winter time and poor customer service and refusal to accept the fact that this unit is defective.
