Horrible lack of customer service. Their new AI phone service is the worst I've ever seen in any commercial business. It is not smart AI. It is the most stupid AI! It cut you off, hangs up on you transfers to the wrong department and does not listen to you. No one answers the phones anymore and it will ring and ring and then disconnect you. They used to have actual human beings that answered the phones would direct you to the right department and or even answer questions or look things up for you. No more! Those customer service days are over!very sad. As far as home warranties now, I would never recommend purchasing one because it's all AI now and you cannot speak with a human being anymore. We purchased a brand new refrigerator a year ago it died. We could not get service for a few weeks to get it repaired and had to buy another one and we could not get through to the warranty company and the manufacturer would not stand behind it so we've had to purchase another refrigerator nor Lowe's would stand behind it. So now we've paid for two refrigerators within a year and a half. We can't get credit on the extended warranty that we purchased that is now useless and that warranty would not even go into effect until June of this year for a five year extended warranty. Last week I mailed-ordered (delivery) a single 12-pack of leather work gloves for about $32 plus tax and less my 10% discount. The box showed up day before yesterday and I was very excited to get it. When I picked up the box it felt very light and when I opened it I could see why. There was only a single pair inside the box. Was I livid? Of course. I spun around twice and bounced of the ceiling a couple of times. I grabbed the box of one pair of gloves and headed over to the store. They were going to make this right !!! Not knowing who exactly to go talk to I went in to the Returns counter. It was mid-afternoon and the temperature outside was a record high. There was no one in line at the counter so I went up to talk to the ladies standing there Ready for the worst, I explained what I had ordered and showed them my electronic receipt, and the box with the one pair in it. She looked up my order in her computer and simple agreed with me. I was short 11 pairs of gloves. She said to wait just a minute, she would need to get the manager involved and off she went. Back in a couple of minutes with the manager, I was told that they didn't have any 12-packs in stock at the store... ... but wait, she would go back to the shelves and see what they had and then came back quickly with 11 single pairs of the gloves instead. That's it. It was no problem. They took care of everything on-the-spot. Friendly, compassionate, helpful, and did I need anything else. Well, no. I was completely disarmed. What a great deal. They took care of me. made me feel important and valued. They were the best! This morning, wifey tells me, at breakfast, she needs two bags of potting soil (2 cubic feet ea) for a Monday project she has cooked up with our yard guy. So back to Lowe's we go. She picks out the bags she wants and we go up to the checkout in the outdoor area and the checkout lady is again, smiling, friendly, helpful. I went to the speedway store in Tucson and ordered a tankless water heater. I was told I could have it delivered to the store or to my home, I chose my home. Today was delivery day I never received a text message about shipping so I called the store. No one could locate my order by my phone number. When I gave the order number I was told a completely different phone number and someone named Aaron was listed. The order was cancelled by the vendor and my cash was almost refunded to Aaron. The supervisor was little help and now it telling me it will be 3 days for it to be delivered. Meanwhile I have an $11k repipe scheduled for Monday and no part. Supervisor would "try" to see if it can be expedited but no guarantee. I've always had good luck with Lowe's but this is beyond forgiveness and will never spend another dime there. Really sad with this store. Spent a ton of money here for all my projects. I needed some wood. The size I needed was not on the rack but it was in the trash. The small 1/2 by 2 they use for spacers on there stacked wood. There were several places in the bin along with a lot of regular trash. I asked if they could sell me the scrap peacea. The service was unreal. My bf and I went to specifically to see about carpeting. We didnt need a lot but we needed it for some repair work. We got there and there was at least 5 people standing at the carpet register and they never said hi. So we walked around looking at carpeting trying to find a good match. After 10 minutes the shouted across from the register to us asking if we needed anything. I was a little intimidated because it was not professional. I said maybe in a little. I finally had the courage to go up to the register and ask if they had samples. They pointed and kept talking amoungst each other. So I went and looked and then went back to the isle where I found better carpet. I asked them about the carpet once I found what I was looking for. They told me in a sarcastic tone that they don't just have it laying around and it has to be special ordered and I said ok. I understand. Mind you I have no idea how shopping for carpet works so I went back to look again and found another and their tone got even more rude. They repeated rudely that non of the carpet they have showing is ready to take now. I finally understood at a distance that is all specially ordered. We walked away and never went back. They kept talking and that was the end of that. We decided to walk over to the paint section because we are also looking to do some paint repairs and thankfully the lady was nice and helpful. We bought a paint sample and left. I supported lowes because they supported my favorite nascar driver but they lost my business completly. That was my last buy. From now on it will be homedepot because they actually come up to their customers instead of shouting at them across the way. Lowes use of Contracted Carpet Installers... Buyers Beware! A single person came to install carpet for our master bedroom, great room and den. Installer showed up around 8:30ish am. Installer didn't show up with all the carpet/padding, had to make another trip to get the remaining carpet/padding. Padding cuts were uneven with what looked to be 1/4 inch or more space than should have been in some places, wasn't going to glue down padding so requested installer glue down padding, didn't have glue so had to go get glue. I don't think the carpet was properly laid and cut, too many cuts/seams and too much carpet left over. In the great room I can see the seam that's in the middle of the room and I can feel the hardness of the seam where the carpet connects in multiple rooms. In the master bedroom entry way, two steps inside the room there is a lump under the padding and or carpet that I walk over almost every other time I walk into or out of the room. Currently, there are some crunchy areas in all three of the rooms and few spots in the great room and master bedroom that feel a bit empty (padding missing/uneven cut issue?). Also of note, installation was to be one day. Installer tried to say it was a two day install and tried to leave. We told him it was in fact a one day install. Called the office to confirm...I think they called him as he stayed to complete the install. It was after 5:30 pm by the time the installer completed. Lowe's need to have some way for the product purchaser to know that the person they are letting into their home is indeed an affiliated installer other than just "saying" they are from so and so company affiliated with Lowe's. The installer who completed our installation had no kind of credentials to confirm they were indeed with Keller Williams, the company contracted with Lowes to do the installation. The carpet and padding could have been switched out at any point to any Jack or Jill installer... still cringing every time I step on the hard area just inside our master bedroom door, or stepping on a spot and hearing a crinkle, or stepping on a spot that feels indented or hard... read more

Characters 'of the season' that are horrible and grotesque; would scare the jeepers out of any three-year-old. Not only are they scarey, they are six, seven, ten feet tall and larger than life. Do not contract Lowe's to install tile in your house. This has been a nearly 2 month project and I'm still not getting straight answers OR my tile installed. Have gotten the runaround from Lowe's depending on who I talked to. Told I only had to pull up "wood" flooring, then told I needed to pull up lino tile underneath. Bought it 1/15, was supposed to be installed 1/24 but there was a base board in front of the old one, so once removed they would come back. Then scheduled for 2/7 between 10am and 1pm - get a text that due to 'RAINY WEATHER' they are rescheduling for Friday. Well I took the 7th off and Friday does not work. He then sends an associate to install it and he informs me that the hook up kit is a 6ft and I need a 10ft, so we have to reschedule again, oh and it will be more $$$. I am fuming. They call on Tuesday 2/13 to inform me that once I pay an additional $263, they an install the dishwasher. That is on top of the original $209 to install and haul off the old one. $472 to install a dishwasher????? EPIC FAIL. Flooring. One would think I would have learned my lesson. Horrible experience. Flooring ordered and installation for my kitchen. It was delivered and dropped in my driveway one day with 1 hr notice. Delivery guy hid it well so not gone- but I had to haul it in by myself. Way too heavy for me at 67 years old but I got almost all of it in the house. Install time. Floor $3000. Lowe's is very hit or miss. We recently went to them to have our flooring done in our entire home. That process went extremely well. The flooring guy was great, and the contractors were on time and did good work. My house looks wonderful. And the price was excellent for it all. On the other hand, shopping in the store for general items can be frustrating, even if you know exactly what you're looking for. There have been three occasions in the last four months of shopping at this Lowe's where the item I needed was in stock, but the inventory was high up and out of reach in the overflow stock. We did the normal paging via buttons in the aisle. No one responds. We ask people in other departments for help, they refuse and just issue another page, or flat out tell you to go back and do the page yourself. I've asked employees at the register, who also page, and yet no one shows up to help. Each time, I've gotten so frustrated that I walked the entire store until I finally found a manager. Who has never been apologetic for wasting 30-40 minutes of my time for a simple request, but has fetched the items for me. When I know what I'm coming into Lowe's for, and it's in stock, I shouldn't have to be waiting for soooo long for simple help. I'm doing a project, I don't have time for delays. When a customer asks for help, you need to help them, Lowe's. On to more good for Lowe's: their return process is very simple. Even if you don't have the receipt, they can find your order if you paid by credit card. They have never hassled us with any return, and with our flooring order, we had a ton of extras that needed to go back. It was very easy. The order online and pick up is also simple, as long as someone is at the desk at the entrance. I've had to wait 15-20 mins, after paging someone there, for help picking up an order at least twice recently. I don't mind waiting, but some waits here seem excessive. I'll continue shopping at Lowe's, it's good enough for now, but I hope they add some employees so that customers can get a little better service in the future. read more
