Lowes customer service in store and on line is OUTRAGEOUS. I placed an order on line for a stove for a tenant thinking it would save me time because in store it is difficult to get help. I had to call customer service, their warehouse several times and every time I was told there was no order under my name. The day before the date scheduled for the pickup of the old appliance I called around 6.00 pm to find out what was the time window for the pickup. They did not know and informed they would send an e-mail during the night, which they they didn't. That meant the tenant was unable to make any plans for that day. It is regretable that with so many bad reviews about Lowes, management does not care to make changes to improve their services. read more

There is also a noticeable pattern of excessive written documentation and email communication that appears focused on personal protection rather than team operations or problem resolution. His scapegoat is writing constant emails to record and complain about anything that is not to his favor and making himself a victim. This contributes to tension within the workplace and further erodes trust in overnight leadership and possibly and agenda to build a legal case against the company just for it not his way. Inventory concerns extend beyond internal organization. There have been situations where inventory was placed outside inappropriately, resulting in product damage from weather exposure. Issues with both outdoor and internal placement create confusion, shift responsibility for unfinished work onto others, and disrupt normal workflow. There are also indications that his supervisory responsibilities have been reduced or questioned, raising further concern about leadership structure and accountability overnight. Concerns about these behaviors have reportedly been raised verbally to other supervisors in the past yet appear to have been overlooked or not taken seriously. The overall supervisory response gives the impression of hesitation to address the situation directly, reflecting a broader lack of leadership training, accountability, and internal oversight. This pattern will ultimately affect the store's approval ratings, operational integrity, inspections, and customer and employee experience if it is not addressed. I am not seeking follow-up contact. This is an alert for the company and for anyone looking to work here. Multiple employees are frustrated by this ongoing situation but feel discouraged from speaking up, as prior complaints appeared to be acknowledged without meaningful investigation or resolution and other employees have been targeted as it seems he feels entitled to bark orders but not lead. Lowe's took the location they were originally slated to put a CostCo into. I'm disappointed they didn't put the CostCo there but at least there's an alternative to Home Depot in the area. Service here is just spotty. I've gone and ordered things, rented the pickup and the folks who helped me load were EXTREMELY HELPFUL! I mean seriously, they were just great and I cannot say enough about the level of service I got. Other times I've gone in the middle of the day during the week and it can be impossible to find someone to help you if you're looking for something and trying to track it down. If they're going to do this in terms of staffing levels and I can understand why, at least put a couple of information kiosks throughout the store where I can go and lookup what I want and be told exactly where I can find it. Last time I went, I wound up walking out and not buying anything because I couldn't get someone to help me locate what I was looking for. It's hit or miss plain and simple. There are ways I like Lowes much more than Home Depot but you really need to search at both for items because you can't tell who will do better on pricing and availability. read more

Horrible shopping experience! I purchased an air conditioner for my brother as a gift. The purchase was made at Lowes.com and I was specifically told we had 90 days to return it if it was the incorrect item. It turns out it was too small, so we had to return it. It was never used, installed or even plugged in and is in the original packaging. I went online and eventually chatted with a representative who told me they would arrange to pick it up from my house. The pickup dates were too far out, so he told me I could bring the air conditioner to the local store in Yorktown Heights. I printed the receipt and hauled the ac to the store. At the customer service desk, I was told that I only had thirty days to return this and I was a few days over that. I explained what I was told by the Lowes.com online representative and the customer service associate told me I had to wait for a manager to arrive and they were expecting him in 15-20 minutes. As I patiently waited, another associate approached me and quite rudely stated that since 30 days had passed, I could not return the ac. I told her what I was told over the phone and she yelled back that she would be fired if she took the return and what the told me over the phone wasn't her problem. I asked her what I could do and she said "get this out of here and keep it!" I brought it back to my car and from the parking lot, called back to Lowes.com. After being on hold for nearly an hour, I was once again told I had 90 days to return this item and because of the rudeness of the associate, it would be escalated and the store manager would call me within 48 hours. A week went by and I didn't get any call. I called back after another a week and spent another hour on the phone. I was told that now it would be escalated again and a store manager would assuredly call me. Another week went by with no call, so I called again. Yet another hour of back and forth with the telephone representative and finally I was told that after they called the store directly, I would have to go back there and talk to a manager. I went back to the store and explained to Mike the manager that the item was not used and still in the box and that I initiated the return slightly past the thirty days because it was a gift and I didnt know it was the wrong size. He explained that it was corporate policy not to accept the return after thirty days, no matter the circumstances or condition of the item. Needless to say, after hours back and forth on the phone, two trips to the store and copious misinformation, I was left very dissatisfied. After being a loyal Lowes customer and credit card holder, I can't see any way I would continue to be a customer after this experience. read more

Horrible service from Yorktown Lowes. Stayed home all day waiting for two deliveries. Everything was confirmed. Emails and text messages said everything would be delivered and gave me the time slots. First part of order came on time. Second part came on time, but was missing part of the order. I was never informed that my barbeque was not coming. The man who delivered the mulch showed me it crossed out on his delivery sheet. I had to call the store to be informed that it would be delivered tomorrow. Just like that, they changed the date, no call, nothing...even though all my text and emails say it was coming. I had to fight for over 2 hours to get someone to send me an email to confirm that the order was coming. (its like they didnt understand what I was saying) I have emails and text saying it was delivered) delivery is complete)...where is the email that says it is incomplete)..I called at 5 and asked for a manager...I was told the asst manager was there but was busy, leave my name and number and he will call me back. The fact that I never received the call back, is just another mark on the state of your store. What a horrible way to do business. Coming to Lowe's is what separates the men from the boys. I personally like my local Home Depot because those guys carry a shiitload of Shrubs, Trees and Plants. Plus it has stuff we need at home. But when it comes to higher caliber items, hubs likes coming to Lowe's- especially those North of us instead of visiting Lowe's in Yonkers. Located off the Taconic in Yorktown Heights, this Lowe's' Plant center is a bit smaller than what I'm used to- but these folks have a better selection of unique Perennials that I don't see in Home Depot by me. Service was a bit sparse but it really didn't put a damper on the short time we were there. But on a more positive note, we even asked a Lowe's employee about locating a few electrical stuff and said it wasn't his area- but that he wouldn't mind helping us. I'll take that! Thank you! I know it sounds real damn corny but I completely love Lowe's utility carts. Carts here have Home Depot beat- hands down! They're smaller- but definitely a lot better than what Home Depot has- plus they're wayyy lighter to handle especially turning corners. read more

I had purchased a stove 2 years ago and the stove was defective I had purchased an extra warranty after 2 years of fighting with Lowe's they gav me my money back only after the store manager had to help get my money back. I went to Lowe's and purchased a new stove with installation for today July 25. when the installer went to get the stove they gave them my cell number. no one at Lowe's thought to ask the name or if there was another number provided, or order number, NOPE no stove no Install. I called the store several times and there is nothing they can do the installer cant come back until Monday. I asked for a Manager and was told no manager in the store until Monday. I find that hard to believe. I called the customer care line no you have to call the installer. No they can't come today it can be on Monday. Can only speak to my personal experience purchasing a new dryer, with installation and removal of our old - 15 years worth - GE gas dryer. Selection at our usual go-to appliance shop was limited to GE and Whirlpool, both of which received average to poor reviews in Consumer Reports and Good Housekeeping, and rated as nothing special for reliability. I purchased a microwave drawer oven from Lowes and had them install it 1.5 months ago. Yesterday while cooking potatoes it started to shoot steam out covering the wood below and on the sides. I immediately called the store and they connected me with SHARP the manufacturer. That was the amount of service they provided. As it turned out SHARP customer service is incompetent. I went to Lowe's in Yorktown Heights, NY today in search of safety googles. I am an emergency room nurse at Mount SInai Medical Center in Manhattan and since the start of this pandemic we have been running very low on personal protective equipment for the frontline medical staff. We have resorted to buying our own gear out of desperation, however, many stores (Home Depot in Brewster , NY) were not empathetic or willing to help us in our greatest time of need. I cooked sausage & peppers at 375 for 1 hour and literally shut it off and turned around and it exploded glass all over. I called Lowes right after because I had purchased the extended warranty. the women i spoke to LAUGHED and said she has never heard such a thing. First of all, i have video and pictures why would I lie? also she said she "COULDN'T HELP ME, ONLY THE SALES GIRL THAT HELPED ME CAN ASSIST AND SHE WAS NOT IN". excuse me? so the girl that made the $8600 sale - Maryanne was the only person that could help me. We love the Poughkeepsie location and were very excited to see Lowe's open in Yorktown, but the experience so far has been lacking. It is difficult to find anyone to help you, and during the week we find that only the self checkout is open. This is an issue for us because my husband is a veteran and they insist they can not use his veterans discount at the self checkout (even though they have done it before), so we have to wait for a manager to find someone to open a checkout lane. This can sometimes take 30 minutes. At first we thought it was just a short staff problem due to just opening, but it has been many months now with no change. I was told by customer service I could not enter the store with empty tank, ok so I put the tank back in my car and returned to the store and attempted to purchase via customer service was told Togo to register to purchase. After returning outside to pick up a new tank. There was no place to park. There were vehicles parked throughout the front of the store. I went to Lowe's on 3/23/24 to buy annuals from their garden department. The arrangement table was up, but they were not in yet. I asked if they would be in by the following Sunday ( Easter) and the cashier didn't know. I called on Weds. The girl on the phone didn't seem to know what annuals were, but then told me they were in. I drove there to find out they were still not in and the cashier did not know when they were coming in. I called the store number back to complain. The same woman answered. I did not raise my voice, but once the woman realized I was the same person calling about the annuals she hung up. called 5 more times. I was hung up on immediately 4 times. On the 3rd call though, I was placed on hold for 25 minutes and then hung up on. I called once more. A different woman answered. She seemed surprised that I was upset on the phone, but new immediately that annuals were not in yet. Never again. Will be going to Home Depot from now on. read more

I just returned from this store and had the worst experience I will always remember. After self checking $300 dollars of plants and bird food I was greeted by an older white woman accusing me of stealing a plant. She was determined, for whatever reason, I must have stolen it. She proceeds to go through my entire receipt on the digital screen and tells me I did not pay for it. She also reveals that she had been "watching" me and saw I "didn't scan it." After manually taking over the self check out screen I was using and tapping a payment option for me, she says "see!" I then scrolled the list of 17 items all the way to the top where (long behold) the cala lily plant she accused me of stealing was the first item scanned. Not only was she determined I must have stolen it but she also purposely tried to embarass me by raising her voice when saying that I did not pay for an item for others to hear. When i confronted the old woman and said "Thank you for wasting my time, and for racially profiling me" she ran away from her post. She purposely tried to embarass me but couldn't take the heat directed at her. I then, naturally, asked to speak with the manager who -also- confirmed I paid for every item on my cart.
