Having done a kitchen remodel a few years back, I installed ceiling lights that were LEDs and should not have failed within a few years like a regular filament light bulb. It failed and the only way to replace the LED light was to get a total new canister. Lowe's has been consistently better than Home Depot in my experience. They carry a wider selection, and I often find better prices on the same or comparable items. What really stands out, though, is the staff. Every time I've needed help, employees have been friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely willing to go the extra mile. I've even had someone walk me across the store and help me in a completely different department just because they wanted to make sure I found what I needed. That kind of service is rare. Lowes is below average. They are advertising 8-in L x 4-in W x 2-in H Rectangle Red/Charcoal Concrete Pavers for $0.25 each. I tried to order them online and I couldn't because they are out of stock. The sale ends today (3/30). They have a shipment coming in 2 days (4/1). I went into the store to get a rain check on the items. I spoke to an associate who sent me to customer service. The associate at customer service had to ask a manager. The upshot? They don't give people rain checks. They said to order it online to get the sale price. I went online (again) to try to order the bricks, but the only way to order them online is to have them delivered which costs more than the load of bricks I wanted to buy. Lowes is a crappy business. Had to make a drive out here to pick up some ceiling fans and some toilets to get installed at our new place. We're not from the area, but it was a decent drive to come out here. Immediately when we got in, we were greeted by every person that we walked by. The people here are super friendly and very helpful. I know I was standing in an aisle looking all lost and confused, an associate stopped to ask me if I needed help and pointed me in the right direction. We had questions about the fans and they got an associate by the name of Felipe to come help us (he was also the nice gentleman who stopped to help me earlier when I was all lost), and he was so knowledgable, very helped and answered every question we had. Every person that worked there, that we walked by was all smiling and was always saying hello. It's nice to come into a place like this where you can always get helped and have your questions answered. We will definitely be back again to check it out. Usually fairly decent service at this location but today's customer service in the Garden/Nursery was poor. I came for Asparagus ferns and walked around and around, up and down every isle and outside the gates looking for them. With no one available in the garden center to ask for help, I went to the register. There stood a young man waiting to load another customers order into his car, I asked him where the ferns were or if they had them. He scrambled around on his phone then proceeded to point randomly to the mass of plants and said "I feel like they're out there somewhere ". Do not buy appliances from this Lowes. First of all they do not tell you there's no refunds after 48 hours at the point of purchase, you find that out when you have an issue. The dryer acted up on the first load of clothes. The manager Matt was very unhelpful, advised I need to call the place that delivered it or LG but there's nothing he can do. I didn't buy it from "the place that delivered it", I bought it from Lowes. Lowes buys their appliances that you buy from a third party and expects customers to deal with them. Both LG and the third party company said Lowes store mgr "Matt" could authorize a return. Very unprofessional and 90 days later I'm still having issues with my dryer. My wife and I went to this establishment earlier so that we can pick up some items we saw online. The items were for storage but we were going to use them for recycling. Anyway, upon entering, we asked two of the cashiers where we could find the items and whether it was because of my explanation or anything else, we were told that something like that was not present at their branch. We would go to the aisle they suggested us to go to and that's where we bumped into Cody. Before we went to him to ask for his help, he came to us and asked if we needed any assistance. He went out of his way to show us several different items until we found the item we were looking for. Cody was not only knowledgeable of the items, he knew where to go to find what we needed. He was also very personable, asking us how our day was going and even answering when we asked him the same thing. We appreciate that type of customer service. It is far above any other reason to return to a specific place more than having certain items. When we finally found what we were looking for, the price was so good that we ended up picking up three of them. We know that anywhere else, it may have been pricier or nonexistent. I really appreciate visiting this space and we will definitely be going back as we will need more items from their location. I'm not sure who reads this with regards to places like Lowe's, but if you're reading this, please be sure to train everyone like Cody. NO BAGS! I selected a couple dozen lawn sprinkler items, put them in my cart, then went up to the front counter to pay. I asked the clerk for a bag. She said there were no bags in the store. And if there was a bag, I would have to pay for it. How am I going to carry several dozen bits and pieces out to my car without a bag? No answer. This store needs to work on customer service. Three times is enough. The first occurrence was for paint matching in which when asked to add a bit of white, she rolled her eyes at me the other time was a man not providing alternative nor suggestion in a friendly manner but felt like didn't care. I should not go to Lowes in Roseville for the results I need with way better TREATMENT. Lastly today I requested for a closet system to bring down from the top self. I asked the young man to cut open the box making sure it wasn't a refurbished. Sure enough it was. I pointed out that the hardware kit was opened and that they sealed it with tape, certain panels were faded or have scuff around the edges, and lastly there were extrusion of the wood around the pre-drilled holes. With all that, his remarked was "it looks new to me"! I then asked to have another one taken down and at this point a nice female associate came to help. What happens next was truly unacceptable, he left the work for her to open the heavy package! I being a gentleman assisted the friendly associate as she was having trouble holding the heavy package in place. I expect that my review can serve as a learning guidance for better customer service for this store as customers should not experience eye rolling or non-gentleman treatment....we are in America! read more

As a contractor when you find deals or something a customer is looking for you jump on it. I spent an hr here finding a cart, arranging some help to load some doors they had marked on clearance. Called my customer and sold the job only to find out that the crew who stocks shelves is incapable of doing that job right. I get that mistakes are made however stocking 8 doors and marking them incorrectly is terrible. I wasted time. My customer is now upset and thrown through a range of emotions and here I am wasting more time out of shear frustration. Lesson learned. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! I ordered 20 bags of mulch for curbside pickup. I received a text and email that my order was ready for curbside pickup! I checked in and told them what parking stall I was in. Someone came out empty handed and scanned my bar code and said it didn't work. I received a text and an email thanking me for successfully picking up my order. The guy who scanned my bar code never returned with my order. I waited and nothing. I walked into customer service area and was told to walk down to garden area to pick up my order. So I did. I waited and nothing. I went in and asked and she told me to walk to customer service. I explained that I had already been there and she said.... I don't know what to tell you that's where you have to go to pick up orders. So I went back to customer service and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor came out and didn't understand what went wrong and why I was upset. Blamed it on the new guy multiple time and did not one time offer an apology. No one at this store seemed concerned with losing my business FOR LIFE! I will forever and always tell anyone and everyone to shop at Home Depot! When I was so frustrated that I just needed to leave I asked that I be refunded for this order and my next one. I had another order pending pick up next weekend. I got in the car and left. Called the store to ask for a receipt of my refunds. The girl said she didn't have my email. I explained that I had received multiple emails from them regarding my order including an email stating I had already picked up my order. We are working on a 2nd home in Yuba County, and have visited the Yuba City Lowes 3 times in the past month. On the last two visits there were at least half a dozen people walking around with no mask on and no employees were approaching these folks. The worst part is trying to be safe checking out when you have to stand next to someone without a mask or a group of folks without masks have congregated at the exit. I did not realize how poor customer service is at our local Lowe's store, until recently. DAY OF SALE: The realization started when I had to hunt for someone to come help me make my purchase. The person that was called to help me knew nothing about the yard tractor (YT) I wanted to buy. Fortunately, I had done my own research. But, it would have been helpful to have my understandings confirmed on some of the operating features of the YT. AFTER THE SALE: I opted to have the YT delivered to my home; at the time of the sale. I received a call the next day to inform me the YT would be delivered "tomorrow". DAY OF DELIVERY : Late in the day I called Lowe's to get a delivery status. Their telephone customer service is another example of poor service. I was put on hold several times, I was then disconnected several times. The two times when I was a able to speak to a person they were not able to find any history of my purchase. I was promised "delivery" would call me back after they got back from break. Don't let me interrupt Lowe's from doing whatever they are doing; it certainly is not serving their customers. read more

Two ratings combined: PRODUCT: Allen + Roth gazebo gets a ONE star rating because it is extremely difficult to to put together using their horrible instructions. The language barrier is part of their problem. The other is the company's inability to get a decent technical writer. I will never buy another Allen+Roth product again. EMPLOYEE: Bryce from the lumber department gets FIVE stars. He is a young Big Guy that I have taken to calling "The Human Forklift". He is very helpful, professional, and a credit to Lowes. I've always thought this was a good Lowe's location. When I lived in Yuba I would stop by fairly frequently, but not so much anymore. Recently I needed a table saw and the one I wanted was only in stock in Yuba, not Roseville, Lincoln or even Sacramento Lowe's. I did an online order, and after waiting for a very long time at the Lincoln location for curbside pickup, I decided to go straight in to the online order pickup area here. I walked in and an older female worker rudely told me to wait outside because they were busy. Later on she apologized and explained that they got an influx of customers just before I arrived. Other than that, everything went smoothly. I like how Lowe's has figured out that they don't need to require signatures for every order pickup--that's one less "contact" you need to make. What a joke...tried to get help in plumbing isle 35... had to walk all the way back up to the front registers to find a person who paged someone overhead..went back & still nobody showed up..
