This is my second visit to L.P.C.X. Café and while my first experience was the more impressive of the two, I'd still absolutely recommend checking it out with a caveat or two. First, the patio. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful outdoor dining spaces I've come across in Tampa... lush greenery, birds, chickens wandering around, and an all-around vibe that just makes you want to linger. On a sunny day, it is unmatched! My second visit fell on a cold and grey morning, and unfortunately the food followed suit... the arepa special (my go-to here) and the pandebono waffles both came out kinda cold, which took away from the experience a bit. I know what the food is capable of on a good day, so it was a little bit of a bummer. To be fair, my friend ordered the same arepa special and really enjoyed hers, so it may have just been mine! The flavors were still there either way. My boyfriend ordered the passion fruit juice (with milk)... I would say this was more like a smoothie than a juice, but it was so SO good. Definitely getting this again next time I come! He also had the pandebono benedict which was okay, though benedicts in general run rich and one-note for me personally... so take that note with a grain of salt depending on your preferences. LPCX has such a cool vibe! I went on a chilly Saturday morning with my boyfriend sitting on the patio. They had a soccer (football) game playing on the big screen and a DJ. There are chickens and bamboo. The coffee was probably the best coffee I ever had my whole life. We had Café con Leche, which I don't normally like cause it's too milky, but LPCX did it to perfection. There was foam on top. The food was amazing. I decided to treat myself to lunch. I arrived around lunchtime and was greeted and seated right away. The service was warm and welcoming; my server was incredibly sweet and helpful in answering my questions about the menu. I ordered the blackberry juice, Spanish latte, and bistec a caballo. I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review for LPCX Café. This place is one of my absolute favorite weekday breakfast and brunch spots in Tampa. First things first -- the food is amazing. They offer a great selection of Colombian breakfast and lunch options, and many of the dishes are naturally gluten-free, which is always a plus. I had seen this place on TikTok and thought it would be a cool spot to check out for brunch. We made a reservation and were quickly seated. We ordered the pan de bono waffles which were yummy and came with a side of syrup and were topped with powdered sugar. I ordered a café con leche to drink and it was a yummy cafecito to go with my breakfast, I ordered the smoked salmon pan de bono which was equally as yummy. However, the other plates my family got were relatively small and our bill came out to around $150. L.P.C.X. is not a real friendly establishment. This establishment served us ICE cold food after waiting 25+ minutes for the kitchen. Arepa was frozen inside which lets me know they don't make in house and if they do, it's not fresh. Food was unseasoned as much as we felt unwelcome. Manager came over and interrogated me about quality instead of kitchen. This visit totally blew my mind- such an unassuming establishment from outside, and even when you first walk in. But then you go and see the back porch and try the food, and are whisked away to some tropical wonderland. If you like birds, you will fall in love with the porch area. They have a giant enclosure for these super cute parakeets, a bunch of different kinds. They just hang out as some background entertainment, along with the resident chickens. This has to be on the top 5 gems in Tampa Bay. LPCX Cafe makes me feel like I'm on vacation in a different country. The atmosphere is a VIBE. I don't think I've been to a cafe as unique as this cafe in Tampa. They have free roaming chickens with their outdoor patio and a huge bird house of colorful birds. They have a great menu with plentiful portions. Their drinks include Colombian twists and excellent non alcoholic choices such as shakes, coffee and matcha. LPCX Cafe is an awesome local place for Columbian food in Tampa. My family and I visited here with friends. Social media bills this place a perfect brunch spot if you have kids. Their outdoor dining area is kid friendly, open enough for them to roam and play safely. We sat outside on a pretty overcast Saturday morning. Rain clouds loomed and while that kept the heat at bay, our time outside was limited. Luckily, like majority of the tables outside, ours was covered with a heavy duty plastic sheet that allowed light but kept everything else out. Our server was around quickly and go us started on drinks. Waters and different variations on coffee all around. I enjoyed a slightly sweet, foamy cortado. Right next to our dining area was a chicken coop. Not sure of those guys end up on our plates or if they are there for eggs but they were free to roam. The two kids at our table highly enjoyed checking out the birds and chickens, watching them walk around and screech. For breakfast, I ordered the Arepa Especial. These sweet corn cakes were covered with fried egg, savory shredded beef and fresh avocado, cheese and a cilantro sauce. The meal was filling and had so much going on. Layers of cheese and meat adorned the lightly bready cakes. While this wasn't the largest serving for $15, one could argue it was an appropriate serving for single person. The price reflected the fresh and hearty homemade ingredients. My wife ordered the Tostones mixtos. 4 tostones topped with chicken and beef along with cilantro and a pink sauce. My wife said they were tasty and our daughter also enjoyed them. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. Our server was around often to check on us and we had a great time of fellowship. Just as we had finished up eating, it started to pour. Rain like Florida does. Sporadic, torrential and cooling. We took shelter under an awning, paid and chatted a bit more. After scouring Yelp and the internet for the best brunch places in the Tampa area, I noticed one place was on everybody's list: Lpcx Cafe. That told me all I needed to know! We showed up to a full parking lot and people waiting outside, so reservations are definitely a smart move. We wound up dining outside because there was live music, however, be warned that the inside tables are very limited if you're looking to eat under A/C. That being said, the outdoor area is shaded with plenty of fans circulating the air. The food was so delicious, OMG. I ordered the arepa dish, and I devoured it. One of the best brunch dishes I've had. They have a wonderful variety of brunch dishes, sangria, mimosas, and more. First time customers and we were so excited to find this place! We recently were in Medellin, so to find this gem in Tampa was such a cool find! The food was authentic and delicious, just as we had in Colombia. And the COFFEE?! You have to try the Spanish Latte. We will be back many times over because of that one cup of coffee. It was pretty sweet, but we still enjoyed it. I We ordered the pandebono waffles to share and each got a Colombian omelet (Bell Peppers, Ham, Cheese, and Chorizo. Served with a side of House Potatoes.). I had never had pandebono before, and I was mesmerized by this!!!! It was essentially cheesy bread in waffle form with syrup. I was not expecting to enjoy this savory waffle, but WOW! I really loved it! Would 100% order again! I also liked my omelet a lot, and would get it again. The vegetables were a little wet so the omelet itself was too, but it wasn't too extreme. I liked both sauces we were given to try, too. The potatoes were okay, not my favorite but still good. I happen to be Colombian and I have to say I must come back again and try the pan de bono Benedict eggs dish along with other things on their menu. I had the paisa dish and it was delicious. I've had this gem saved after seeing an Instagram Reel and I've been wanting to try them! My friend has been before and she wanted to have her birthday brunch there so this was perfect! The patio vibes were vibing during brunch at LPCX Cafe! I was a little worried when I first drove up, as this was my first time visiting and parking was a bit tricky. The restaurant's lot was full so a man was waving all incoming traffic into the one-way shopping plaza parking next door. Once inside, there was a bit of confusion as we tried to sort out our reservation. But we eventually got it figured out and were guided outside to the lovely patio/courtyard space. I was so happy we got seated outside, because even though it was a hot day, the patio remained pretty comfortable under the table umbrella and the space out there really is a vibe! With lovely water features, the chirp of chickens in the nearby coop, and baby chick sightings, the ambiance is calm and vibey. I tried the arepa especial (minus the meat, of course) and my friends and I had a delicious time. The dish seemed small when it came out compared to some of the other dishes my friends ordered, but it ended up being so filling and delicious. To start our server was not attentive at all, she also forgot to add avocado on my bowl & instead of just saying "oh I'm sorry, I misheard you" she repeatedly said "you said no avocado" & I would never do that lol. I felt like I was back in Colombia by coming to Lpcx Cafe. It was truly a pleasant experience and I can't wait to come back. The food was so delicious. The Perico Wrap consisting of scrambled Eggs with Avocado, Cheese, Tomato, and Green Onions, all wrapped in a Flour Tortilla: Served with a side of French Fries. This wrap was so good, you can add protein if you desire but the basic ingredients were plenty for me. The Calentado de la Casa Rice and Beans mix, Steak, and Eggs (any style) was very flavorful.
