I love coming here as a reward for being a good student. I usually check it out once a week as they have a rotating weekly flavor that is $1.10 post tax. It's definitely a great way to try different flavors. In my social circle, we love asking each other what the flavor of the week is throughout the week and sharing our opinion on it. They also do a punch card thing for milkshakes which are usually 3 scoops of ice cream so it's thick. The employees are usually super nice. Sometimes when the original flavor of the week is not available, they will give you your flavor choice for the price of the FotW. Also, they sell meat in the fridges, I assume they're fresh as heck as a result. I haven't bought meat here but I know others do, it's probably really good :) The tiger bite is a special flavor at LSU, it's vanilla based with blueberries. It's a little sweet and the texture leftover can be a little sticky in the mouth. It's hard to explain that but it's not perfectly smooth. The oreo is my favorite, they do it right here. Only issue about it is that it's hard to scoop so the employees don't usually make it the FotW as a result so I rarely get it. The vanilla is a classic and dependable flavor. I'm not a chocolate gurl but the double chocolate has a nice rich flavor. I also liked the chocolate oreo, it definitely goes well together. The mint chocolate chip when I had it was disappointing. It lacked the chips to balance the mint flavor. People really like the peach flavor but it just doesn't taste like peaches to me, maybe a hint of it but it's not that good. I don't really like the toffee flavor, I wouldn't try it again. The strawberry cheesecake was pretty good and I prefer it more than the blueberry cheesecake flavor. I'll be honest, this review is coming a few years late. But I've eaten enough tiger bite waffle cones on a hot day on my way to Tureaud to know that this is IT! I'm surprised to see not many reviews; I guess this place is a well kept secret. Even less known is that they sell various frozen meats including goat sometimes. The LSU AgCenter Dairy Store is a great place to visit if you are on or near the LSU Campus. They have some of the worlds best ice cream, which you can buy to consume immediately, or in quantity to take home. In addition to this main feature, they have expresso based coffee, other drinks, and snacks. The finest ice cream flavor may be the famous Tiger Bite, which comes in the LSU colors. However, strawberry is also an amazing choice. I'm still conducting my own research into the flavors available, but so far I have not encountered any that are not excellent. Other LSU AgCenter products are sold here as well, depending on availability. The LSU Cheese is always a good choice, rich and flavorful. Meats on hand vary, but can include lamb, goat, beef, and pork. On my most recent visit I picked up links of fresh Italian sausage. They also had large legs of lamb in the case, which were quite reasonably priced. It is my understanding that this store exists to help students at the LSU AgCenter learn dairy science and the production of other agricultural goods. This is a great way for them to get hands-on experience, and the public gets to consume the fresh and high-quality results. One thing to consider with the Dairy Store is that the hours of operation may vary depending on the semester. This is understandable since it is student-run, and mostly patronized by students and staff. So, before visiting it might be best to check to insure they will be open at the time and date you wish to visit. read more

I love the LSU Dairy Store Ice Cream! There is a good variety of different flavors - my personal favorite is the chocolate cookies n' cream flavor. It is super neat that the ice cream is made using milk from LSU cows. The ice cream is always delicious and creamy and the perfect sweet treat after a long day of class. Limited seating is available inside, but there is some outdoor seating if you don't mind sitting on a low brick wall located right outside the store. If you aren't in the mood for ice cream the dairy store also has fresh cheese and meat available for purchase. Also, if you really love the ice cream there are also half gallons available for purchase as well! Overall, the space is very clean though a tad tiny, but the delicious ice cream is the true star of the show! read more

The AgCenter Diary Store is the place on campus for a quick sweet treat. The service is okay, for the most part. However, the taste is for sure the biggest attraction to this place. The service is made of a variety of student workers and other regular workers. Sometimes, the workers don't provide the best service. There were times where I had to wait for the servers to get done talking before being served. However, this is a rare occasion. Usually, the service here is pretty decent and moderately quick. However, I am going to take one star away for this reason as I think that this is something that should not happen. The sweets here are quite amazing. The ice creams usually have a nice and creamy texture to them. This really adds to the flavor of the ice cream. Even the basic vanilla flavor is really good. The chocolate malt, milkshake, and the coffee are pretty decent. The malt and milkshake can be a little too sweet for my taste. The coffee tastes like community coffee bought from the store. It can not compare to coffee shops, in my opinion. In addition to the sweets, this store also sells a variety of cheese and a variety of meat for a decent price. If you are a student who cooks or just want a sweet treat, then you should go here and see what catches your eye. The ice cream is basically a requirement to being an LSU student. read more
