My son, Jacob, had injured himself on a Saturday and had trauma to his eye. He was in need of an Ophthalmologist to immediately help him. I called about 7 offices that all tired to book him for a visit for the next work week...wow. I was about to go to the closest emergency room. I felt helpless to give Jacob the proper care that he needed and deserved. Then I called Dr. Anusha Vassamsetti's office! I was asked to hold as the front desk needed to ask the Dr. if she would add us in to the end of her day that was already booked and nearing it's end. She said yes because she cares! We arrived as her shift was ending and she attended to Jacob's immediate needs and outlined protocol towards his recovery thereafter. At this point it was 1.5 hours beyond her office hours and I could not thank her enough for taking the time out of her day to help Jacob in his time of need. As if this was not enough, I found out that the Dr. Vassamsetti's vacation had started at the end of office hours that night and that she had a flight to catch. If this does not speak volumes to you about her practice, I do not know what would. I am truly thankful for her dedication and heart that were shining that afternoon. I love this eye clinic. I understand the frustration some ppl have about waiting, but honestly, it can't be helped. The amount of testing that you go through, then your eyes are given drops to be dilated, and it takes time for the drops to take effect. Plus, they do not rush you when you are with either the techs or the doctor. They spend as much time as you need to discuss your issues. I'm older and developing probs with my eyes, and I never feel rushed talking to a tech or doctor... I know they care and want to do the best they can for me.. My family will always go to this clinic, and I will gladly wait, knowing they will spend the same amount of time with me that I need. The only problem I have is that the eyeglass shop in all three offices are not equal. Crown Point has the largest selection of frames, and I'd love to see the same in Munster and Valpo. read more

I have had several doctors over the years and they have all been very helpful no matter what my eye condition was. I had cataracts and Dr. Taglia did a fantastic job with the surgery and he even put implants to help my astigmatism. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I haven't had that vision in over 50 years. Also, I went to Dr. Schilling and she did an excellent exam on my eyes and answered every question that I had. She is very friendly and nice. I like doctors who will talk to me and not just do what they have to do and that's it. I will continue to tell people about LTF when they are looking for good eye doctors. read more

Today was my 3 year olds very first eye exam. He has autism and has extreme anxiety and meltdowns in unfamiliar settings and especially at professional settings like Drs offices. I called ahead of time and expressed my concern for his ability to be seen and whether or not they've handled children like him before. Dr. V and her assistant were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! They felt his vibe out and kept soft low voices to make him comfortable and gain his trust. I was beyond happy he was able to be seen and get his very first pair of glasses!! I had a great visit with Dr. Jack. Eye exams make me uncomfortable but he made me laugh and feel at ease. He gave me an extensive exam and discovered a slight abnormality that we can continue to monitor. I know I received great care and feel as though I've found a doctor I trust. You must wear a mask (fully over your nose people) while in the office and the waiting room is big and set up so that people can't sit right next to each other. You are also given a temp check and asked screening questions before you are allowed to enter the waiting area. I would highly recommend LTF and Dr. Jack. read more

Super nice Staff! My Dr was very thorough and actually took the time to listen, converse, etc. Check in was easy, for a first timer. Lounge wasn't too bad. However, I did not expect to be there for nearly three hours. Wasn't expecting to have an exam, go wait, go to another room, go wait, go to another room, etc.... All other patients I talked to said the wait is ridiculous and getting worse. But, with all that negative, I will go back to see Dr. Taglia and his staff because I felt they did a great job with my needs. I will just plan on a super crazy long wait. read more

The staff at the front desk are fantastic! The environment is clean and covid safe. My son was seen by a fantastic doctor that took the time to explain everything about the eyes and did a completely thorough exam. I appreciated being able to order his glasses right after the appt. and that my son had many options to choose from. They also gave me a copy of his prescription for myself. I took a picture of it to keep in my phone as well, I suggest it for others its a great way to keep it with you. One thing I know is this office cares about their patients. read more

My first time going. So far, the wait time was minimal, and the ladies have been very nice. The eye doctor was thorough and asked questions about previous doctors I had and issues with my eyes before coming into them. She very professional and thorough. I didn't have any issues with anyone that worked there. Willing to give it a chance to see how things work out. I feel I will be happy with the eye doctor and the experience I had was great. Dr. Ireland is very thorough and takes the time with his patients. You are not just a number with him, he cares about his patients health as well as their eye health. He is easy to talk to. My husband and I always book our appointments for the same day and they have always been able to book us for our appointments within 15 minutes apart from each other. Usually able to call and get an appointment within 2 weeks for a regular eye exam. Had an eye emergency one time and he got me in the same day. Highly recommend him! read more

My son was having issues with blurred vision and pain in his eye. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and we have a whole host of issues. Even though we're not regular patients at this facility they were able to squeeze us in the next morning regardless of having a full book already. The staff was extremely helpful and understanding. LTF does a great job. The doctors are all amazing; but, our favorite is Dr. Tsagris. She is thorough and very knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain things and answer questions. She actually found an anomaly in my husband's eye and referred him to a specialist so that we can track it going forward to know if/when it worsens. No other eye doctor caught it in 40+ years and it is more than likely he was either born with it or it is the result of childhood trauma. I recommend LTF very highly! read more

Had to wait for the new year so that VSP insurance could be used to buy new glasses. So, just ordered new glasses and haven't yet received them. Once I get them and wear them for a bit, I'll surely let you know how well they work... given the opportunity. I always rely and depend on Dr. Ireland for the most professional and thorough optomitristic experience I've had in sixty years of wearing glasses. I wasn't disappointed this time either - his work is top drawer, and he's a hoot to visit with. read more

The actual doctor visit was fine. Unfortunately the space in the Crown Point office seemed cramped and the testing rooms very tight. Could use some serious updating. Nurses office for scheduling was very cramped and afforded little privacy or confidentiality. It also seemed crammed with binders and assorted other paper materials. Would be nice if they would not rely on paper and ink so much and avail themselves of the wonders of the modern office environment. read more

My mother, who has since passed away, had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Lewyckyj- My first introduction to LTF EYE CLINICS. I had no idea nearly a decade later- from her surgery - I would become part of their family- when my son, at the time 8 or 9, developed medical eye issues. The receptionists, the back office assistants, and Dr. Taglia were all VERY nice, helpful, and informative. There were lots of clients in the waiting room that day, but I was escorted to different locations in the back for different tests and an eventual meeting with the doctor. My surgeries (bilateral cataracts) are scheduled two weeks from one another in just over four weeks. I'm really LOOOKKKIG (sorry) forward to having this done. read more

Dr. Ireland has always been so amazing. He has always been straight forward and to the point with me. I appreciate the honesty when I ask questions or ask for his opinion/thoughts on something. He jokes and laughs with me during my exams, making everything more laid back and comfortable. He's never once steered me in the wrong direction. I recommend him to anyone asking for suggestions. Great place to get your eye exam and glaucoma check. I would visit the Valpo office if ever given the chance to. Typically I visit the Crown Point office, which is also very good and can perform the same checks that I need. Although had to get in to Dr. Taglia ASAP so went to the Valpo office because they had an opening there. Kind and professional in Valpo, some times not in Crown Points office. Dr Schilling was amazing with my 7 year old daughter. The receptionist in the Valpo office, Lee, was also very helpful and accommodating. She was able to contact the Crown Point office to get us in that morning when my daughter had something stuck in her eye. They turned a scary experience into a positive one. The office staff and nurses at Crown Point were also lovely to work with. Very thankful for them today. read more

I appreciate the thoroughness of the LTF exams. The staff are friendly and reaffirming. Dr. Taglia always answers my questions and I never, ever feel rushed. I am confident that I am getting the best possible care with all of LTF's people. The only issue I ever have is that the optical shop there is not covered by any insurance I have ever had. That causes me to have to go to groups that can be less dependable. read more
