On April 27, 2023, our 93 yr. old grandmother along with her caretaker, came to this establishment for an appointment at 12pm. They were dropped off by a medical van transportation company (as she is in a wheelchair). Well, a situation occurred with the transportation company as there was a delay in picking them up. I got involved all the way from Georgia to see what the heck was going on. After family members made multiple calls to the transportation vendor (company that dispatch out), I actually spoke with the driver who transported her there and she was actually stuck in Illinois. Even though, a lie was told earlier to her daughter that it would be 45 minutes to a one hour (which they should have been picked up by 2-2:30pm); it was going to take her more than 2 hours to get back. I call the vendor to see if they had emergency back-up to pick up our grandmother and as with everything else, they didn't have another van that could come and get her as it would still take one to three hours if she was pulled from the current driver and placed with another company. So that left us with having to find someone else to come and sit with my grandmother as her caretaker got off at 3pm. However, what I didn't know is that this business also closed at 3pm. Now, what behooved me, as I made arrangements for some other family members to come and sit with our grandmother and one to take the caretaker to her car, this freaking business put our grandmother and her caretaker out of the establishment at 2:55pm because they promptly closed at 3pm. WHAT FREAKING BUSINESS YOU KNOW THAT WOULD DO THIS TO A DEFENSELESS 93-YEAR-OLD MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, and GREAT-GRANDMOTHER??? Let me ask a rhetorical question: Dr. John Czaja, Dr. Katie Fesko, Lynette, April, and any other employees that were there, you mean to tell me that neither one of you all could have waited past 3pm, to ensure that our grandmother, who WAS supporting this business, was picked up safely? Whoever worked this pass Thursday, you all left them outside and walked to your car like you didn't have a care in this world. This is not over, and you will never, ever, do this to another person. I just wonder if it was a person that LOOKED like you would you have done this? Our family didn't appreciate how this situation occurred. As a person that has been in the customer service business for over 30 years NEVER in a million years would I have done this to someone supporting a business that I worked for. You all have left a bad, foul, taste in our mouths. Keep in mind that other people that made ride medical vans to your establishment that anything can happen, that the patient coming to see you has nothing to do with. However, as a business that's been serving the community as your bio states for 20 years, you absolutely didn't show compassion nor show a great relationship to our grandmother. This establishment owes our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother an apology for what was done. Keep in mind the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!!!!!!!

I can see how this place could be overlooked because of the naming of the business because it seems to go by at least two different names. The signage is for "Eye Care Plus" but they also seem to be a part of the "Ossip" brand network of practices. When I drove up I was looking for "Ossip" signage but only saw the "Eye Care Plus" signage and branding until I got to the door which can be a bit confusing for new clients. I had an issue once with my glasses not being properly measured, which caused the prescription to be off. The problem was addressed right away, and the lenses were replaced with no hassle. It really doesn't take much to take the time to explain what you are doing, why you are doing it or to say ANYTHING at all to a young patient. When my husband & I had our exams, he really didn't speak at all to us either. Of we asked questions, very short answers given like yes or no. The ladies in the office are very kind & helpful. Really great ladies. However, when it came time to pick out glasses, that's where we ran into problems. They had a VERY SMALL children's selection to choose from. My husband had a hard time picking out glasses as well, he had a hard time finding a pair that would fit his head. I found glasses with ease BUT when I went to order my contacts, the trial pairs were not in stock. So I had to wait 1-2 weeks for that to come in. (I live an hour away so not a quick commute for me) After I picked up my trial pair & came in for my check up I was to pick out my colors for my contacts, something they were aware of. When I get there & start looking at the color chart they inform me that they no longer have those colors or the brand but instead have another so they pull the contacts out of the box, only to inform me that they don't have a good portion of the colors in stock to show me. So, I then had to wait an additional 2 weeks for the color samples to come in. Once I decided, I placed my order immediately. A little over 2 weeks later I haven't heard anything so I call in only to be told my contacts were on "back order" & wouldn't be in for another 2-4 weeks. Which I felt like was something they could have told me. Conclusion being, doctor is horrible with kids, very impersonable, they don't keep up with keeping the office stocked & if you're wanting quick results, this isn't your place. I went early November and I didn't end up being done with it all until January 13th. So about 2 & a half months.
