I was in the area and the name caught my eye, it took me a few seconds to realize it's supposed to say New Panda. There wasn't any indication that it was open so I checked my maps app and it says that they're open -- I think an "open" lighted sign would help draw more customers. Actually, they had an open sign, it just wasn't on for some reason. I walked in and regretted it for a few minutes when I realized I was the only customer there. The waiter was so professional and friendly, I brag to feel at ease. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is very clean with plenty of seating. They have some Vietnamese and Thai dishes but heard the owners speaking Cantonese so I decided go with Chinese. The crispy duck caught my eye, so I ordered a bowl of steamed rice to go with it. The server brought out a generous serving of duck on a fragrant bed of wok tossed onions and scallions. My expectations for this place weren't high, but I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into the first piece. I'm so glad I ordered the duck. The five-spice and rice wine flavor went perfectly with the wok tossed scallions and onions, it was the perfect level of saltiness. I walked in worried and stumbled out happy. Half of the sesame chicken we ordered was rancid and tasted kind of fishy. Was playing Russian roulette with every bite and all 3 of us got food poisoning despite ordering different things. The overcrowded fish tank with the floating dead fish in it should have been enough of a red flag to leave. Lo mein was just wheat spaghetti noodles covered in oil? No vegetables, no flavor, not good. We all left 75% of our food on the table when we left because we already started feeling queasy as we were sitting there. Twice now, I have received an inedible egg foo yung dish. The second order was by mistake: however I was stunned to receive egg foo yung cakes that were burned to a crisp. I believe the best thing to come out of this pandemic is the discovery of new take out spots. I found this near my home and realized that I haven't tried many spots around me. Thank god I tried New Panda! I ordered a beef lo mein and an orange chicken for my wife. Onto the food! As always, we need to get the bad out of the way. The orange chicken wasn't exactly good, but served the purpose of filling my wife up. I personally wish it was crispier. Now, the beef lo mein was absolutely delicious. Soft noodles, amazing tasting beef and a large quantity for a cheap price. What more could I ask for! My father later ordered a shrimp lo mein and it was exactly the same. Worth the buy! Overall, my discovery of New Panda made me rethink the locations I have yet to discover in Golden. The food serves its purpose of filling you and satisfying you. Why have I waited so long. Work in Golden area and driven by countless times. I was not feeling great and wanted egg drop soup. Ordered from here along with the combination fried rice for next day. Soup was delious and hot. The next day had the combination fried rice. It was fabulous. Portion size was gaint, have left overs. Twice now, when I've had them delivered, they have been under cooked where pieces were stuck together and the breading on both was mushy. I believe, giving benefit of the doubt, it's just a matter of the cooks being too busy to watch the items and make sure they are cooking correctly. They give way too much rice. A solid three stars. This is a little hole in the wall in Golden. It's really easy to miss. We ordered online, which was convenient. Most of the dishes had pictures and you can use the search option to find what you're looking for. The prices are listed when you go to the 'cart' and it's easy to adjust items in the cart. The prices overall are what you'd expect. The credit card option didn't seem to work, so we used paypal. The online payment is for carry out only. I got there about 10 minutes after the website said the order would be ready. It was ready and waiting and the server who gave it to me was friendly. The restaurant looked clean as I walked through, and it had the delicious smell of food. Some places I've been to had a funky smell, especially when they house a large fish tank, but not this one. Anyway, I got home about 10-15 minutes later. The food was still piping hot, which was nice. My husband had the sesame chicken. I stole a bite and thought it was okay. Not enough to steal the whole dish. I had the combination with garlic sauce. It was pretty good, and I was happy with the amount of meat they included. I didn't like the hot and sour soup. The flavor and texture were off. I think it was a little too thick. The crab cheese wontons were okay. I'm not sure that we'll order from here again, but I would suggest that others give them a try. If I could give this negative stars I would. We spent almost a hundred dollars on a family meal, plus tip and they majorly messed up nearly the whole order. We were upcharged for fried rice plus pork and chicken added and were given only brown rice. My sister, who is a vegetarian ordered tofu and was given chicken, and all of the sauces were completely watered down and everything tasted less than mediocre. We had to call to exchange the chicken dish for tofu and there was so much confusion coming from the staff that I did not even bother bringing up all the upcharges for food we did not receive because I felt it wasn't worth the headache and argument.
