This is my new buck a scoop Chinese food place. What sets it apart from the other ones on this side of town? Two things. 1. It's super clean and well organized. 2. The staff was exceptionally peasant and helpful. I didn't feel rushed through and she was actually listening fj me. She absolutely jammed our boxes full of food and that was really appreciated. She was even chatty with me and that made me feel welcome. I even received a heartfelt and genuine "thank you" from her for choosing her restaurant for dinner. I was ordering to go but she was so pleasant I debated just sitting at a booth and eating the part of the order that was mine. I was ordering for six people which is why so many boxes and so much food. When I returned home with the food, the food was hot, fresh, well made and tasty. I really got my moneys worth and I appreciate that. This is my new buck a scoop location from now on. read more

Being from the northeast ive never seen scoop chinese food before and was initially wary of the idea. My local buddy convinced me to go and im glad i did. I was greeted by a nice employee with a giant spoon who happily filled my to go box with sesame and bbq chicken. Then i added a few chicken egg rolls and 4 spiced chicken wings and the bill was 17$. I could barely put a dent in the food too! I would definitely return, the food all looked very good, and what i tasted i thought was delicious. 135 is a relatively standard pay-per-scoop Chinese food spot with all your typical dishes such as fried rice, lo mein, happy family, orange chicken, wontons, etc. you know the drill. The one thing that sets the spot apart from others is that their food seems a bit more fresh than other similar spots. Possibly because of this however, I've noticed I tend to pay a bit more here. We came here on Christmas day for dinner. Our normal " scoop" style place was closed, so we decided to give these a try. And WOW, we were very impressed! I think most people are aware that any scoop style Chinese place isn't going to be ultra gourmet food. But this beats most sit-down Chinese restaurants. My wife and I both got 3 scoops, and I got an extra serving of sweet and sour chicken. Everything we got was definitely more on the basic side, but there is nothing wrong with that. For being Christmas day, the workers were amazing too! Amazing customer service, and worked like a well-oiled machine. We will make sure to continue to patronize this place and make sure other people know how amazing this place is! read more

I got three huge scoops of food for $5.96 - teriyaki chicken, beef and broccoli, and lo mein. It was delicious. The food wasn't dry, greasy, overcooked, or like it had been sitting in the warmer too long. They also don't skimp on the meat as some scoop places tend to do. read more

This was just ok for a quick unhealthy meal! It's basically a more authentic "look" compared to Panda Express. What I liked were the cheese wontons. There's no crab in these things, but the wonton was very light and crispy. The egg roll was just ok for me; a little too much ginger or something and it was kinda mushier on the inside than I prefer. I do like the lo mein better here than Panda. The shrimp and veggies were good, but I wish the veggies were cut just a bit smaller. I probably won't go back just because there are more of these places all over so I'll continue to try different ones when the mood hits. read more

We have figured out we can get out of here for under $20 for three people and we are stuffed. If you're looking for PF Chang's don't come here. Don't waste your time or $$$. The food had zero flavor. How is that possible with Chinese food? ‍ ‍. Fried rice was steamed rice with soy poured over it and no flavor. Is it gourmet, handcrafted, snooty, authentic made by grandma Chinese Cuisine? Nah. It's good, old fashioned tummy-pleasing Americanized Chinese food for $5 for a plate that will literally feed me three times. I dig it. Visit Two (In less than a WEEK!) Tried the Teriyaki Chicken, more Lo Mein, and some Cream Cheese WonTons. Still $5 and change for two meals, easily. Where do I begin? 1.35 scoop is one of those guilty "I-know-I-shouldn't-but-I-have-to-have-it" kind of places. When I go here I know I'm going to be full, I know it's going to be delicious, and lastly... I know it's going to be cheap! EVERYTIME I go here the people are... SO NICE. Very welcoming! Efficient- even when it's dinner time and they run out of a entree it never takes more than maybe 3-5 minute wait. The food is awesome. When it comes down to it 1.35 is not a authentic Chinese restaurant- it's your basic American influenced Chinese food at it's best. I'm talking about heaps of Sesame Chicken, Beef Broccoli, Lo Mein, Etc. And its honestly the best of it's kind. Always fresh, and always good. You can't beat the portions sizes either... my goodness it's EASILY three portions. Usually for my boyfriend and myself each of get a lo mein or rice with two entrees each and overall it's maybe $10? If you love chinese and are on a budget this is the place for you! Me and my boyfriend go here about once or twice every two weeks and absolutely love it!!! Pros: -SO much food for so cheap! I will ask for one scoop of something and i will get a whole small box full! They are VERY generous with their servings! -The food is always fresh and consistant and their soy sauce is always filled on the tables -Very sweet owners they are always helpful with a smile! This is a really great place, if you like "buck a scoop" places. The portions are huge! You could probably get just one scoop and be satisfied for a meal. The best, of course, is to get a few scoops and you will have plenty for leftovers as well. Without a doubt this is presently the best dollar ($1.35) scoop Chinese restaurant in town (of those at which I have supped). The food is always freshly cooked (in small batches), and you absolutely get your money's worth. If you order only two items they will fill (to overflowing) the same size takeout box that most dollar scoop places will fill with three items (although, to be fair, if you order three items they will only fill the same size box. Moral of the story: only order two and save yourself a couple of bucks). For what it is, the food is generally very good (although I did on one occasion have chicken that was pretty badly overcooked) and the staff are always very friendly. Every now and again you'll have to wait a minute or two while a new batch of food is prepared, but who can complain about quality control at a dollar scoop place?
