FABULOUS!!! We came for lunch at 11:20 on a Saturday. They were kind enough to seat us (inside )...lovely, simply decorated atmosphere. We 3 (mom, dad and adult son) had the Italian vegetable soup (special), the large Greek salad, lamb gyro and spinach ravioli( incredible sauce). Nathan , our server, was professional and personable. I was in Keene, at City Hall around lunch time and noted this restaurant next to City Hall. For the most part fellow Yelpers gave positive reviews with the exception of a couple of haters. Although my mind was made up I asked a couple of people in City Hall for lunch suggestions and all pointed to Luca's. I was also told that the chef was voted 2015 Best Chef of New Hampshire. This I had to see for myself. They have sidewalk tables but I opted for inside seating. The menu was pretty simple with just a couple of daily specials. I chose the Shrimp Cilantro for lunch. Not big on cilantro but I love shrimp and It comes over a bed of angel hair pasta. How can I go wrong? Well I didn't go wrong. This place lived up to its reputation and more. I could find nothing negative, decor was very nice, service , on par, and food, well if the chef is not Chef of the Year he should be. Made a reservation ahead of time. Bread was dry, old and the oil with balsamic Vinegar super sugary. Appetizer unassuming and again sugary. Husband had a gyros that wasn't anything to write home about and small. My main meal lamb chops were so thin and small they overcooked them automatically . It came with broccolini that was barely cooked. My husband's gyro came with nothing else so he was pushed into ordering a small side greek salad that consisted of nothing noticable . Waiter shocked I did not wanted water only club soda. He told me I need to stay hydrated?! The bill was outrages we paid almost 70$ for food that should never have been served. read more

Found this place online and decided to give it a try. Managed to snag the last unreserved table for the night, definitely book in advance if you plan on arriving after 6:00pm. Ambience was excellent, very well lit and cozy, main dining room is above street level which makes the whole experience much more comfortable. Waiters were all very nice and attentive without being overwhelming. We ordered the Papas Braves and the Pork Belly, both were delicious but on the small side, especially the pork belly - probably not worth the $14, but still very tasty. For mains we had the short ribs and the pork chop. Both were excellent, well seasoned and tender. Didn't care too much for the fried onions on the short ribs, but every other part of the dish was done very nicely. We stopped here to grab food before heading to MA on a day trip. It seemed pretty well reviewed (4.5 stars with nearly 200 reviews) so I thought it would be safe. We ordered two gyro sandwiches and a grilled cheese (not on the kids menu). According to the website, the gyro sandwiches are $13 each. The most expensive items on the kids menu are $10 (for shrimp scampi/chicken pastas). We were charged $49 and was told the difference was due to tax. Staff is frantic. Asked for salad without dressing; arrived with dressing. Asked for salad to be served with entree; was told that the restaurant does courses and the salad would be serve first. What ever happened to providing what the customer wants (within reason, of course)? Found a fly in my tea and the waiter took it away promising a replacement, which never came nor was any apology. Other beverages were never replenished. Food was mediocre. Seemed like it was prepared and sat for 20-30 minutes waiting to be served. Really enjoyed dinner here on a sunday evening with my wife. Friendly people greeted us, the table was comfortable. The restaurant is small and narrow, but they manage the space very well. Food was excellent. I had the "Nonna's sunday dinner" (a big italian plate of meatballs and rigatoni. The meat sauce had really tender pieces. My wife and I were seated in the larger dining room and it was borderline awful. So noisy that you couldn't talk across the table. Very loud groups of 6, 6 and 10. Some has children that were yelling and carrying on. Horrible way to dine. Only one waiter covering the whole area. It took 20 minutes to get service. We ordered drinks, appetizers and the meal all at once because we felt that we would never see the waiter again. Drinks came after another 20 minute wait. This is not the waiter's fault, but logistics within the restaurant. Food was great, as always, but I will never eat inside again for fear that I will be seated in the lager dining room. It is the little things that separate this restaurant from the many others in this region. From the outdoor menu presentation (on a pedestal, not taped to the window), to the door drapery to contain the New England winter drafts, to the small details in the men's room (yeah, the almost always overlooked men's room), Luca's nails it. Our waitress Venessa was top notch, and glad we had her as the other waitress seemed a bit less experienced. We ordered two specials and my partner ordered a glass of Malbec. Wine was exceptional with a very good pour. The salmon spinach risotto special had an excellent balance, and the red snapper special was almost perfect - a little too crispy on the non-skin side which slightly dried the fish, but not enough to send it back. The combination of olives and capers made us say Mmm! after each bite. The owner makes the rounds with both regulars and newbies like us. We had a change of plans and happened upon Lucas and we are so glad we did!! We tried the soup special which was cream of artichoke and it was Devine!!! If Luca was single we would be fighting over him because of his kitchen skills! I had the Greek salad with salmon which I thoroughly enjoyed and ate every bite!! Excellent Food, Excellent Service! A superb restaurant on Main Street (technically Central Square) in Keene, NH. Menu has wonderful variety without being overwhelming - yet a wide range of flavors. So delicious we went for lunch both Friday and Saturday this past weekend. Everything we ordered over the two days was delicious. Appetizers we enjoyed included Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Reimagined BLT, Bruschetta Trio, and Roasted Corn. Entrees included Linguine con Funghi, Penne alla Vodka, and Grilled Caesar Salads with Grilled Faroe Island Salmon or Grilled Chicken. Ending a most pleasurable meal both days was dessert - the Limoncello Cake and the frozen Lemon Gelato/Lemoncello Flutes. Yum! In addition to the excellent food, the service was top-notch. Erik, our server both days, was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and an all-around great personality. Kudos to Luca for finding him. The owner, Luca, aside from working as host both days, kept an overall eye on how things were running and assisted wherever needed so nobody was waiting for anything. Making a suggestion as to a specific type of gin I thought he should stock, he said as I was leaving and told him we'd be back tomorrow, that it just might be on the shelf - and sure enough, it was! I went here for lunch with my mother yesterday... overall, a nice experience. We got the "Pasta della Casa" specials, which are a good deal at $14.95 compared to the rest of the menu. I started with a mixed salad, my mother with a caesar salad, then my main pasta dish was penne with a pepperoncini cream sauce and she got a Milanese sausage over fettuccine. And fresh bread with olive oil, naturally. I'll begin with the good parts of the meal... the waitresses were pleasant, the salads were delicious, and I liked the cream sauce. It had great depth of flavor and was very creamy. But for the things that didn't impress so much... the oil accompanying the bread didn't really taste like olive oil to me. I have no way to confirm this hunch, but even if it was olive oil, I wasn't really impressed by the quality nor flavor of it. I also thought the pasta texture was nothing special. Rather like the box pasta I can boil at home. I asked if the pasta homemade, and our waitress said that it wasn't, but that it was imported, fresh pasta. Is that possible, fresh pasta that is imported? I don't know, but I was in Italy a few months ago and this pasta wasn't even close. Call me picky, but for the prices and reputation of this place, I would've liked a little more attention to detail; at least for the big things, a.k.a. oil and pasta. read more

First time in Keene and our first time eating from here. We got the lamb gyro, the Mediterranean pork taco, and for dessert we got the limoncello cake. The food was really really good. We ordered over the phone and I guess the person misheard us and gave us two slices of the cake...but the cake was delicious and we each got to enjoy our own slice. Found Luca's on Yelp and decided to stop in. I had daily specials: mushroom bisque and a fried redfish over a radicchio and tomato salad. The service was great, and the soup and the fish were excellent, even thought there wasn't much on the plate. The problem was the salad. It was so eye-wateringly bitter thoat it was barely edible. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I can't imagine it was supposed to taste that way. I expected better for the price I paid. read more
