They were actually doing work next door and asked our neighbors to make sure the crew could use our yard to gain access to their dead ash tree. They gave us a great quote on the spot for a huge evergreen we needed taken down. They had another crew come in and took down the neighbor's tree as well as ours. The crews protected our yards because they were fairly water-logged from the rains, swept the debris from the yards and street, and carried off and chipped all the wood (there was A LOT of wood). The stump grinders will be back later so there might be an update but so far a great company to work with. read more

The trees in my yard were in dire need of a trim and Buckthorn had invaded my front hedge. I got a quote from Woody's to remove 2 very large trees in my backyard, one was very close to a fence, and the other very close to my house and deck so I was concerned about them not damaging my property. I had 3 estimates, and Woody's was the cheapest. They also have a bucket truck that can fit through a small fence opening to get to the backyard; other companies did not have this option. They came out with a "double crew" and finished cutting down the 2 large trees, as well as 3 smaller trees, cleaned up, and were done in 2 hours!!! I was amazed and they didn't leave debris all over the place. I was very happy. They were to return later in the week to grind the stumps, and I haven't been billed yet, so there may be an update to this post if needed. Woody's came out to trim four trees for us. In addition to their workers scaling the trees, they also had an impressive cherry picker that made for quick work of some hard to reach branches. Woody's Tree Service was very prompt at our request for an estimate with our difficult availabilitiy. Mark came out almost immediately and had a written quote the next day. We did have an issue with having them "miss" the initial scheduled date of work, but were very prompt at apologizing and working with us to reschedule the work ASAP. I'm very glad we still decided to go with Woody's... Mark from Woody's Tree Service is a great guy, very personable and friendly... he really took the time to explain the process to myself and even gave tons of attention to our 18 month old triplets!!! The crew was very efficient, process was smooth, price was fantastic, the tree trimming work was great, and they left the property very clean. My neighbors were impressed with their work, that I think they even ended up signing up for service with them, too. We had a tree that had a broken branch that was quite large. They did a great job taking out all the dead branches and those branches that hung in bad spots like over the neighbor's property. They were quick, neat, and the whole property looks better. It really has a better curb appeal. read more

A terrible company with rude associates. Woodys clear cut a lot next door to me and rather than removing the brush they burned. While burning is legal, it is not socially responsible in a subdivision. They sent plumes of smoke into my home for 13 straight hours and ash all over my home and car. When I asked if they could keep the fire lower, a shrill woman told my to "move to the city" or "pay my neighbor's bill" because it would take too long to do the job the proper way. A horrific company with associates that show no respect for neighbors. While burning may not be against ordinance, they put toxic fumes into my home while burning 15' flames with the wind died fly going into my home for 12 hours while a snarky little horrible woman screamed at me when asked them to take the flames down. They did a great job for me. They trimmed all my trees and went up high in my maples to trim the top branches. They forgot to do one thing, but when I reminded them, they unloaded and did it right away! The only issue is that they forgot to send me a bill then asked why I didn't pay. Ha! I called woody to cut down a large Elm that was close to my home. He advised to just trim it because it was strong and provided shade. I agreed and he trimmed it in May 2014. But July 2014 it was dying. I have made several attempts to reach him. I just want it cut down, minus some of the $600 I already paid him to trim it. He will not call me back. I would like to give Woody's six stars, but the highest possible is five. Several trees in my yard had not been trimmed back by the previous owners for many years, especially the Honey Locus tree. Branches hung low in the yard, some branches were into the neighbors yard and on my roof. Woody's came to me recommended and it was a great decision to utilize their services. The estimate was accurate and Marks team arrived early Saturday morning. They were courteous and respectful to my neighbors and myself. The project lasted four hours and the did a GREAT job. The overgrown tree was trimmed back and symmetrical. The dead wood a d overgrown parts were cut down, branches, leaves and bigger logs were disposed into the cutter. The yard was raked clean and they even took out an evergreen bush, which wasn't in the estimate. I recommend Woody's for your tree needs and have given their number to others! read more

Great service and easy to work with...I had an initial estimate and wanted to add some work and they came out a second time to modify the estimate without any pushback and quickly sent me an emailed invoice which was easy to sign and return electronically...within several days they came out trimmed the trees and returned later the same week to remove a couple stumps. My only criticism is communication between the crew and myself, a knock on the door/email or just a quick update that they would be back on a separate day to finish up would have been appreciated but never the less they did a great job, had the best prices of all my estimates, and within two weeks they sent me an invoice to settle up and it was done. I had a tree fallen in my backyard. Woody's gave me a good price to remove it. They gave me an estimated day and time to get the job done and they showed up at the scheduled time. The job was done quickly and cleanly. They cut the wood into 18 inch firewood size and left them with me with no additional charge. They also gave me the day's wood chips at no additional charge. They trimmed some branches that touched the roof of my hose from another tree. They also did this at no additional charge. I would definitely consider using them again if there is new project. read more

They did the job safely, but that is about all. It took 6 weeks from start to finish to get one tree cut down and stump ground. They cut the branches off 1 day and then left trunk for a month. They did not return phone calls in a timely manner. He brought his dog who was friendly, but it wandered around yard while they worked. Do not use them. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Be very wary of this man and this company. I contacted him to get an estimate for the removal of three trees. He gave me an estimate and told me a date he could do the work a Saturday.To begin we were in the middle of see if dates might work so that I could be present. I did not sign a contract until it was clear that it would work out. I called and said it was not possible on the date because I would not be home. I made it extremely clear that for the work to be done I needed to be present. To my surprise, I come home on Monday to cut trees. WTF!!!!! His excuse, "I called and left a message that I wanted to do it on Monday and if you did not call back I will take it as an agreement. WTF!!!! You DO NOT GO onto someones PRIVATE property until you get a verbal, Yes it is okay for you to come onto my property." The lack thereof does not give you permission!!!! I felt very violated!!!! It is my private property and that Mark does not have a signed agreement. To add insult to injury Mark then adds $500 charge for tree trimming. A favor he states, My trees needed it. Excuse me? Tree trimming was never discussed and was not even part of the estimate. An estimate that again was never signed. STAY AWAY from this business they do very shady business!! read more

Called Woodys for a tree quote to remove 2 trees n prune another. This is a large job. He said be would come by the next day around 6pm. I rushed home waited and nothing. After an hour of waiting, I left to run errands. On Saturday morning, he called and left voicemail stating he had time this weekend to come by. Are you kidding me? If you can't come when you say you will I'm supposed to trust you on a large job? To say the least, I did not call him back and used another company instead. read more

Word to the unwise, yet trusting sole. Don't be! I hired Woody's on a handshake and a promise, as the owner showed up without any paperwork or form of proper way to leave me with a written estimate. After last July's storms took down 4 of my trees, I had him quote the job for cut up and removal of a total of 5, including stumps. Four trees were taken care of, with one being left until later in the season due to hot temperatures/location, etc. My property is unique in that I am situated on an island. They would show up unannounced expecting on the spot shuttle service, not when scheduled, never returned to remove the stumps and never returned to take down the 5th tree. Luckily I hadn't yet paid them for the stump removal, but did pay for all trees. They have refused to reimburse me, since a contract written up after the fact (upon my repeated reminders for insurance reasons) did not mention that 5th tree. They also did not follow through on paying for the shuttle service to the island (which had been factored into my bill). Nor did they make good on other island jobs they had promised to do. Please save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere! read more
