We make certain to always visit this winery on our travels. They have something for every taste bud and an amazing view of the lake. Our server, at the tasting, was very helpful and polite. Every year, there is an older man that does not seem very happy to be there and he's rather bristly, but he does his job and is efficient. It's almost to the point that we watch for him like the old guys from the muppets.

Absolutely one of the worst winery experiences. We used to frequent this winery years ago and I am shocked how it is being managed now. We walked into to an abrupt situation telling us the tastings are in the back and when we asked if we could bring our tasting into the deck for a picture we were answered with a strong No! Shay did not treat us as guests and was more Like a drill sergeant. She told us to go back and she would be there when she could. Once there she never explained anything just poured a welcome splash and then another coworker showed up and she said "they have all had their welcome pour" Very rude and not welcoming. I am So disappointed.

Unfortunately Glenora didn't meet our expectations after reading outstanding reviews and recommendations. The building felt very commercialized and the server was set to robot. The experience felt impersonal and wines were just average. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes for a tasting, which was very different and much shorter than our other tastings this day. Our server was on auto pilot while pouring our wine- which got shorted after each glass to the point were our last pour was just 1 sip. It made it difficult to ask questions, we always look forward to conversations and education during our tastings.

What a winery! This place is beautiful and a must go if going to a winery on Seneca Lake. Staff is amazing, food is delicious and wine is YUMMT. The views are great and so many picture opportunities!

So, I think that upstate wine is not my kind of wine. But hey, I'm from California, so it wouldn't be, right? There is so. much. sweet. wine. Wow. And I don't like sweet wine. And the thing was that even some of the "dry" wines were still a little sweet. The Brut wasn't bad. A little too sweet for me, but definitely drinkable. I liked it better than the Blanc de Blanc. The Dry Riesling was decent, but again, still a bit sweet for me. I actually quite enjoyed the Cab. Franc. It was in fac dry and had a nice balance of tannins and mild flavor. The Cab Sauv was lacking in flavor for what I'm used to. Having said that, it's a beautiful view! And the staff was very kind and knowledgable. And you get a free welcome pour of But. And the menu is huge, so there is plenty to choose from! They have soooo many fruit wines if that is a thing you are into. And also wine gummies? Didn't try them, but I guess that's a thing.

Had a lovely tasting experience here today! They have a ton of different wines we really enjoyed their fruit wines. Especially the strawberry and pineapple ones, dangerously easy to drink. The fellow doing our tasting was great telling us about their wines. You get 5 tastings for ten dollars and a free welcome pour of a house wine. All were very good and we took home a bottle of strawberry! Beautiful place nice tasting room and really pretty outdoor patio as well. They also have a restaurant and hotel with beautiful lake views as well!

Stayed at Glenora Inn (at Glenora Wine Cellars) and not only were there bugs in the room, it was by far the dirtiest room I've ever encountered at a hotel. When this was expressed to the hotel staff, including the attached photos, they were seemingly unconcerned about the situation. Will let the photos speak for themselves...

Extremely friendly staff, Ruth and her husband really made the visit extremely pleasant & fun and we definitely cannot wait to return! Discovered that there IS a dry wine that we enjoy as we are most definitely NOT dry wine drinkers, but the Cabernet Sauvignon was a total surprise!

For all of our stops, thus far, on the Seneca Lake wine and chocolate tour, Glenora ranks as the top two. The food item was a decadent bite and they offered designated driver drinks as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

We stopped at Glenora on the Lakeside Trolley. Check-in took a bit, as everyone was coming off the trolley at the same time. We enjoyed a chocolate and wine pairing. Tara was informative and fun. Staff was nice, but other patrons were very rude here. We felt so bad for Tara; within the 30 minutes at the bar, she had to deal with 2 or 3 rude white men making snide remarks about their policies or products, all outside her control. Plenty of merch for FL souvenirs, including snacks, clothes, knickknacks, and wine obvi.

Well, aside from our wine guide's name, (I'M SO SORRY) who was EXCELLENT and made what would have been a lost group of women wanting to get lit to an educational experience but ALSO a great time. He curated a list of several white wines in carafes for us to learn and practice different tasting notes. I have never had a wine tasting like this and have never had one like this again, yet. Hopefully that will change during my Napa trip this month! The outdoor seating area is beautiful and green without getting too noisy, and perfect for big groups. There's also a large unending field of grapes - which we definitely posed for an ungodly amount of photos in front of. Hermann J. Wiemer is definitely a wine institution well deserving of all the accolades that I will be visiting again next time I'm in upstate New York!

Wiemer has been around since 1979, but they started really experimenting with biodynamic wine production in 2014. That's how I came to find the winery when I was researching which to visit when I was planning our trip. I'm interested in organic, biodynamic, and natural wines, and Hermann J. Wiemer has become a pioneer in biodynamic wines for the Finger Lakes region. (When we spoke about Hermann J. Wiemer at other wineries we visited that weekend and with people we met in the Finger Lakes, it was clear how much respect people have for Hermann J. Wiemer. Everyone had such nice things to say about the winery, that they are pioneers and examples of great winemaking in the region and that they are incredibly supportive of and helpful to younger, newer wineries in the region.) We had a reservation, which I recommend. Even though Hermann J. Wiemer is large, it's popular and they were running out of space for people who visited without reservations. The space is incredible and varied for different experiences. There's indoor seating and outdoor seating. Much of the indoor space has large open windows so you can see the vines and the property from your seat during your tasting. It was incredibly comfortable inside the winery on this very hot day. The tasting is incredibly flexible. They offer 1.25, 2.5, and 5 oz pours of every wine on their menu. This includes more than 20 wines - many Rieslings, several Chardonnays, Gewürztraminer, Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Franc, blends, sparkling wines, dessert wines, and more. The staff member who was with us through our tasting was friendly and incredibly helpful. With so many wines, she helped direct us to wines we might have more of an interest in trying. We spent an hour or so at the winery (at one point watching a rain storm through the windows) and took a few bottles home with us. I enjoyed the wines and the experience and have enormous respect for the reputation that Hermann J. Wiemer has built in the Finger Lakes. If you're interested in biodynamic wines, Hermann J. Wiemer should be on your list to visit. It's also just a very beautiful, wonderful space and business to visit in the region. I'd very happily return.

The winery is slightly confusing because it is named Hickory Hollow as the Yelp page suggests, but they serve Nathan K wines in addition to Hickory Hollow wines. It can be confusing for those looking for one or the other! But with some searching, we ultimately found the location we were looking for. We stopped on a pretty overcast and rainy day, and we found ourselves to be the only ones in the tasting room. The room is large indoors and with ample seating on the patio outside for nicer days. The interior features a lot of wood themes with low tables as well as bar seating / standing for the actual tastings. Lots of open space, so it would be conducive to a group of folks or even a party! Upon arrival, we decided to do a tasting. We did a tasting with the only employee on the ground, who we learned is the daughter of the owner and brother to Nathan K. She was really lovely to talk with (loved chatting about city vs FLX life and the food scene in all parts of NY and PA with her), but she didn't provide the *most* detail and explanation for each of our wines. No big deal, but having a server or sommelier walk us through our tasting is our preference to really make the experience shine. The wine was solid - not our favorite that we went to, but their reds definitely stood out from the rest. We had a nice time chatting with our server, and we were happy that Nathan K himself walked through the room during our tasting so we could introduce Nathan K to Nathan K! We wound up leaving with a bottle of Cab Franc, which was one of our faves from the tasting and of course, bore the Nathan K label, which my husband adored. I would definitely like to make it back and enjoy the outdoor area with a more informed wine tasting in the future! But thank you for indulging my husband with his own labeled wine!

First, the hillside view of Keuka Lake is gorgeous. Second, the tasting room interior has a modern and spacious feel. Third, we both enjoyed the Gewurtztraminer wine and purchased one bottle. Our server was quick to assist with the $12 tasting, but he seemed a bit rushed after a large crowd of visitors entered the facility. On the minus side, the rieslings were a bit flat compared to those of Dr. Konstantin Frank. Also, we made an advance reservation for 2pm, but the facility ignored it since it appeared to have a general "walk-in" policy for everyone. One downside of ignoring advance reservations is that it created a chaotic experience with customer waves. Also, it took about 15 minutes to check-out since a long line formed to exit and pay for the tastings. But overall, this was a good experience.
