This was another stop on our Seneca Lake Westshore wine tour. This winery was also very nice. It has a restaurant and lodge attached to it where you can book rooms and enjoy a full service meal. We did a sweet and dry flight $10 each which were guided by the staff. They were very informative and friendly and we learned a lot about the wine and the history of the vineyard. After our tour we went to the restaurant to enjoy lunch. The food was good and service was fast. We hope to come back to enjoy more of the wines they have to offer. read more

Beautiful dining room. Pretty tasty food. Although, the bread should be given before food and complimentary. Not for $8. I'll come back to eat here for sure. Rooms are beat up. Old worn out carpet and cheap worn out coverlets on beds. Floor in the bathroom wasn't too clean either. Porch boards are all worn out as well. Looks like 10 years overdue for updates. And for $250?!? No thank you. Will never stay here again, or at least the updates are made. Room in such condition should be no more than $130. read more

We make certain to always visit this winery on our travels. They have something for every taste bud and an amazing view of the lake. Our server, at the tasting, was very helpful and polite. Every year, there is an older man that does not seem very happy to be there and he's rather bristly, but he does his job and is efficient. Absolutely one of the worst winery experiences. We used to frequent this winery years ago and I am shocked how it is being managed now. We walked into to an abrupt situation telling us the tastings are in the back and when we asked if we could bring our tasting into the deck for a picture we were answered with a strong No! Shay did not treat us as guests and was more Like a drill sergeant. She told us to go back and she would be there when she could. Once there she never explained anything just poured a welcome splash and then another coworker showed up and she said "they have all had their welcome pour" Very rude and not welcoming. Unfortunately Glenora didn't meet our expectations after reading outstanding reviews and recommendations. The building felt very commercialized and the server was set to robot. The experience felt impersonal and wines were just average. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes for a tasting, which was very different and much shorter than our other tastings this day. Our server was on auto pilot while pouring our wine- which got shorted after each glass to the point were our last pour was just 1 sip. It made it difficult to ask questions, we always look forward to conversations and education during our tastings. read more

So, I think that upstate wine is not my kind of wine. But hey, I'm from California, so it wouldn't be, right? There is so. much. sweet. wine. Wow. And I don't like sweet wine. And the thing was that even some of the "dry" wines were still a little sweet. The Brut wasn't bad. A little too sweet for me, but definitely drinkable. I liked it better than the Blanc de Blanc. The Dry Riesling was decent, but again, still a bit sweet for me. I actually quite enjoyed the Cab. Franc. It was in fac dry and had a nice balance of tannins and mild flavor. The Cab Sauv was lacking in flavor for what I'm used to. Having said that, it's a beautiful view! And the staff was very kind and knowledgable. And you get a free welcome pour of But. And the menu is huge, so there is plenty to choose from! They have soooo many fruit wines if that is a thing you are into. And also wine gummies? Had a lovely tasting experience here today! They have a ton of different wines we really enjoyed their fruit wines. Especially the strawberry and pineapple ones, dangerously easy to drink. The fellow doing our tasting was great telling us about their wines. You get 5 tastings for ten dollars and a free welcome pour of a house wine. All were very good and we took home a bottle of strawberry! Beautiful place nice tasting room and really pretty outdoor patio as well. Wine Tasting was mediocre at best. We got there a little after 5 pm on Saturday, the young server for wine was more concerned that that 6pm was coming soon. Other parties at the bar were offered crackers between tastings. As soon as we were poured a selection she had the next bottle out for each of us to sample and was waiting to pour. In a hurry we felt , it was a turnoff and not able to enjoy the products . The other wineries we were at quite different in presentation and interaction. The Restaurant is another issue: We had a server Georgia who must have said 'Sorry 'bout that' at least five times duty our meal. From waiting almost an hour between appetizers and main entrees, to forgetting the wine, and then over charging us $30 more for the wine (always check your bill!!!) . Food was mediocre at best and made a dinner we were looking forward to a dinner we will forget. Will not come back!! One star for the restaurant. read more

The Inn is amazing. Each room is spacious has a deck and chairs with a beautiful view of the vineyard and lake. You also get a welcome glass of champagne and a complimentary bottle of wine. The winery is not as good as it has been in the past. The tasting included very small pours and a brief description of the wine. The individuals doing tasting in the past and at other wineries we visited provided a more detailed description of the wines as well as how they are made. The tastings at Glenora this year were not as professional. The people that were with us said they will not be back. read more

Staff was nice, but other patrons were very rude here. We felt so bad for Tara; within the 30 minutes at the bar, she had to deal with 2 or 3 rude white men making snide remarks about their policies or products, all outside her control. Plenty of merch for FL souvenirs, including snacks, clothes, knickknacks, and wine obvi. read more

We decided to taste some dry red wines and immediately noticed a very factory feel to this place. Very busy moving you through like cattle. The gal at the tasting bar was very robotic in her description of the wines - we could hear her saying the same exact thing down the line. I was curious if I would've asked her a question if she could've answered it. Very impersonal. We did buy a bottle to enjoy on the deck, as that was a draw to the place. First, the views are amazing for this winery. We were going to do a flight and asked for water, HOWEVER, this place told us to buy water for $2. The only winery we know of around Seneca Lake to charge us. This killed the score. We did get a Pineapple slushy and a Raspberry Rose first and I wish we hadn't . Glenora is a classic. My wife is the wine fan, I prefer sweet wine and the slushies so I don't think I'm really qualified to review the wine themselves but ill try to review the overall experience. They have the standard cheese and charcuterie board selections in their refrigerator so I don't think this really separates them from the other wineries/vineyards. They do have a restaurant but we haven't tried it yet. The ambiance is great with an outdoor deck overlooking the lake and the staff is helpful and friendly. We've been multiple times and my wife enjoys all of their selections. I've had the mimosa flight - 4 different combinations of sparkling wine and juices- and they were very good. I've also had their slushies and each has been good, basically a sugary version of wine three or four steps removed. I have tried their dry Riesling and it was good...I just can't drink the standard dry wines, regardless of the label. We'll be back again, we typically buy a six bottle selection every time we come. This vineyard is a standard and always a stop on our trip annual trip to the flx region. read more

My wife and I were driving back from the Windmill on a late Saturday afternoon and decided to stop in for a drink and to absorb the memorable views of Seneca Lake from their outdoor porch. We were greeted very warmly by the person at the front desk and she told us where to go since we were skipping the wine tasting. My wife and I each ordered a Riesling, one dry and one sweet. There is a nice selection of cheeses, crackers, nuts, and meats to choose from as snacks. Of course, there is the large selection of bottles that you just sampled as well to take home with you. Came in on a Sunday afternoon during a weekend getaway with a couple friends back in September 2020. There were a decent amount of people already seated for wine tastings, but we were able to get seated right away with an appropriate amount of space between us and the next table. With our tasting, we received a complimentary cup of cheese cubes. A couple friends tried the wines from the sweet/semi-sweet list and I chose the dry-semi dry option. My favorites from the list included the FLX Dry Riesling, 2017 Merlot, and 2017 Syrah. I bought a bottle of each to take home in addition to a bottle of the 2018 Black Diamond Express and Moscato. There is a wide variety of wines for purchase and anyone that stops by will definitely find a bottle that's perfect to take home! After our tasting, we enjoyed the sunset together by the vineyard. Such beautiful views and was a great way to end our weekend. read more

The winery itself is situated just off the roadway overlooking Seneca Lake. It's a beautiful setting with prime views of Lake Seneca from the deck as well as several large tasting areas within the building. The day we visited was pretty busy, but the people at the tasting bar were quite engaging and knowledgeable about their wines and the wine making process as well. They had quite an array of local cheeses available for purchase as well. All in all, it was one of my favorite stops on the Seneca Lake wine trail! My personal favorite is their Seyval aand Sauvignon Blanc wines. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Glenora has the distinction of easily being the worst wine tasting experience I've ever had. Abby (?) was rude, bossy, and pushy without an extensive knowledge of the wines (she would just say things like, "this is summer in a glass, this is a party in a glass"). She spilled SO much wine on the counters and hardly gave us anything in the glass to taste. She rushed our group through our tasting- we were done in 10 minutes and she actually took one of our glasses and dumped it out before they were done. I guess we weren't drinking fast enough for her. She kept bragging about how she's run the entire tasting room by herself and she was being completely obnoxious to the staff she was supposed to be training. They didn't rinse our glasses in between pours or offer any cheese or crackers as palate cleansers. I didn't buy a single bottle and we will not be back there anytime soon. read more

I was very much looking forward to visiting Glenora with a group of friends, we walked in and waited for our IDs to be checked. Well no one was at the check in desk for about 15 minutes. We decided to walk to the tasting room and try to do a tasting.. we thought that the check in desk was closed for some reason. There was no sign saying "we will be right back". The lady at the tasting counter kindly said "I can not serve you until you check in and pay", so we walked back over the the check in desk. I asked Laurie, who was standing at the cashier if anyone was available to help us. She blatantly told us "to wait in the line like everyone else". There were only 2 girls in line before us so we weren't too worried about the line! I said "we have been waiting for 20 minutes now, we just want to do a tasting and the rest of our group is waiting on us". Laurie said "well you can't follow directions apparently" and then proceeded to go talk to the other two girls in line! I was confused as to why she couldn't help us or possibly go find who was suppose to be covering the check in counter. It was a very negative experience, and Glenora was by far one of my top choices for wineries to visit. We left Glenora without doing a tasting, purchasing anything and a very upset to be honest. read more

My husband and I stopped on a Sunday for Sparkling Sundays. We split a mimosa flight (without the juice) and enjoyed it outside with a beautiful view. The experience and the wine were all mediocre. Glenora is large so I didn't expect the personal experience of some of the smaller wineries. The wines were ok (the peach Spumante smelled artificial and we didn't finish it). It's still worth stopping by as long as you adjust your expectations, and we've enjoyed stopping here during wine trail events. read more

A fun stop for a wine and chocolate pairing. The chocolate was really good. For each chocolate you could choose a sweeter wine or a dryer wine. Our whole group agreed the sea salt milk chocolate was out favorite chocolate. For pairings, my favorites were the Cabernet Franc with milk chocolate and the Riesling with hazelnut chocolate. The views out on the patio were excellent. We had an appointment for our wine and chocolate pairing and although the space is pretty large I would recommend trying to make an appointment if possible. They do a lot of fruity and sweet wines which are not my thing, but if they are yours then this would be a great stop. read more

Up in the Finger Lakes area. This is our go to winery. Great selection of wines but their signature are the Rieslings. They have great Rieslings here and we always buy cases to take home as it's our favorite table wine or for party occassions. It's a nice layout. Tasting room is well situated. No fee for the tastings and the shop is close by to purchase all the wines you like from the tasting. Service was great and everything was explained wonderfully by the person who led the tasting. It's great to get the history and background along with flavors of each wine. The winery grounds are spectacular. Beautiful layout and views over the lake. Vines full of grapes and plenty of space to let the afternoon go by. The gazebo is a great place that has a picnic table to eat and drink the wine. They also have a hotel and great restaurant on the grounds that serve great food. I'll definitely be back. read more

It's a gorgeous place and worth the visit but it's a pricey overdone winery. It's got two tasting choices even though they could offer a lot more. The views are most spectacular at Glenora and they offer a wide range of wines from dry to sweet. The tasting was $5 for six wines. Tickets are provided for each tasting which can be applied to the purchase. Upon our arrival we were promtly greeted and given the run-down on available selections. A variety of cheeses was also provided alog with each tasting. The cheeses and wines were available for purchase. Wine by the glass is also advertised, however when we inquired, we were told that we needed to go buy the glass at the front check out. The cashier at the front showed us a list of wines which range is price from $6 to $8. When price comparing, you can purchase an entire bottle for the price of one glass. Unfortunately, this detracts from the idea of purchasing a glass and enjoying the atmosphere. Glenora is a solid vineyard and worthy of a visit when in the area. read more

Loved it here! We weren't able to make reservations but luckily didn't have to wait long to get our tasting in! Glenora followed safety guidelines. We both tried the sweet wines. I loved them and ended up buying 6 bottles to take back home! Finished 3 of them so far! The peach was perfect for me! We also got the chillaxin red, raspberry and rosé. It was $9 to try 6 wines, a steal! The grounds are so nice. There's cheese available for purchase too. I would definitely recommend Glenora for anyone visiting! read more
