I've been to Lucero Rooftop Restaurant + Bar twice now. Both times I went with friends after having dinner nearby and we weren't quite ready to end our night yet. Lucero is located on the rooftop of the Omni hotel. The views are spectacular. I didn't have a reservation either times, and was able to grab a seat on the outdoor part of the rooftop. I've only gotten prosecco at Lucero and service was great both times. It's a great, quiet spot if you're not ready to end the night, but aren't looking for anywhere loud or busy! read more

We arrived about 11 pm on a Friday night after the Innings Festival and were warmly welcomed by the bar staff for another hour til closing. Friendly service with stunning rooftop views above Tempe from the bar as well as the modern and spacious rooftop terrace. Our martinis were en pointe and the friendly bartenders rounded out a wonderful night cap experience. UPDATE: We enjoyed the standout views and exemplary service so much we decided to return the following night for dinner. We enjoyed delicious and well presented tapas: Crab Salad Fondant Patata Street Corn Fritter Duck Tinga Sope Spanish Fried Chicken Skirt Steak Tostada Each dish was beautifully presented and flavorful. Kudos to the chef as our orders came less than 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. Our bartender Reanna was yet again welcoming and attentive even on a busy Saturday evening. Lucero, well done. While I personally haven't stayed at the Omni Tempe Hotel, I have visited it many times for events and to visit friends from out of town who were staying there. I have been impressed by the professionalism of the staff, the layout of the very nice rooms, the way the ballroom works for large events, and the various restaurants and bars in the hotel. I have enjoyed food and drinks at the Neighborhood Service Bar + Restaurant (on the first floor), and most recently this week, I made it upstairs to Lucero, the rooftop bar, for my first time, and the views were amazing! Did I mention that the sunsets by themselves are worth a visit?! As their website indicates, Lucero was inspired by the starry night sky and offers an elevated social dining experience. They have smaller plates served tapas-style. While I didn't get an opportunity to enjoy any of the food this time, the drinks at the bar were great! They can get creative with their offerings yet they already have a nice menu. They also host great private events in addition to their normal hours in the bar. They are open from Tuesday through Saturday from 5 PM to close with food service hours being those days from 5 PM to 10 PM. Lucero also hosts events including their Starlight Screenings every Thursday in February, which is open to the public. There are romantic classics while you enjoy the rooftop views and some "love-inspired bites and cocktails." The special menu for February for "Romance Under the Stars" includes dishes like Parisian Truffle Gnocchi and Black Garlic Beef Crudo and cocktails like Tequila Be With You, La Belle de Casablanca, and The Forgotten Spark. Looking at the yummy food from yelp I will have to tell you some disappointing news.....its not there. There are no sliders with fries or birria empanadas. That was what I was looking forward to the most. Their menu is super condensed and the food choices are not appealing. The patio is gorgeous and the cocktails are great. This was a very cute rooftop bar experience! After taking the elevator in the Omni hotel to the 16th floor, you'll be greeted by a great view of the surrounding Tempe and ASU campus. There's lots of lights and opportunities for great photos. We didn't get any food, as it was a little pricier for our liking and the menu didn't come with a great deal of options. We got a simple Riesling wine and raspberry lemon drop. My Riesling was very classic and sweet-tasting, while the raspberry lemon drop drink had a heavy citrus flavor. Our waiter was very kind and offered many times to take photos of us, which was greatly appreciated! While visiting our friends in Tempe, Arizona, they took us to Lucero for dinner. This rooftop bar is located on top of the Omni hotel, with a commanding view of downtown Tempe. We took the elevator up to the restaurant and the door opened up to this lovely space with a great atmosphere. There is a large dining room with a long bar, with floor to ceiling glass windows. To the right is an outside patio with dining tables. Because it was a warm day, we opted to dine inside. Because we had a big lunch earlier that day, we decided to snack and have drinks. We ordered the Short Rib Croquettes (chimichurri aioli, pickled fresno pepper), the Wagyu Tacos (grilled wagyu, jalapeño rémoulade, salsa molcajete, pickled onion, house blue corn tortillas), the Birria Empanadas (short rib, birria, queso asadero, cilantro, onion, birria consommé) and the Scallop Ceviche (citrus-cured scallops, avocado mousse, strawberry pico, jalapeño, cilantro oil, broken tostadas). All of the dishes were plated well, and the flavors were very good. The puffy chips that came with the Scallop Ceviche were adorable and tasty. Of course, they had bubbles but they were by the split, which is fine with me...bubbles is bubbles, no matter the size of the bottle. The staff was nice and attentive. We didn't do dessert, but got additional drinks and walked over to stare out the window and chat. Before I go, what was the coolest thing about the whole experience? Despite the great food with the amazing flavors, the menus were crazy nice! They were backlit with a light so you could actually read them in the dimly lit restaurant. That was so cool as I didn't have to pull out my phone to see what I was ordering. Overall, Lucero was a cool dining experience. Hubby and I celebrated our first anniversary here at Lucero! The view is spectacular you get a great view of Tempe with the city lights sparkling all around. I'm so glad he chose this restaurant, because the staff made our anniversary night feel so very special. They surprised us with complementary champagne and a dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. We were in the area, dropping off my daughter for another semester at ASU so I decided to book us a room at Omni hotel. This restaurant is located in the top of the roof of the hotel. We didn't make reservation, since we were just stopping by for a drink & appetizers. I thought we would sit at the bar, but we ended up getting a table after all. We decided on an outdoor table & glad we did the view was amazing. The staff were great, the appetizers were good and the cocktails were great and strong. We had the zodiac antipasto board, truffle fries, the raspberry lemon drop cocktail, and the strawberry lychee gimlet cocktail. I highly recommend this spot for a girls night out or just a Friday evening to wind down and relax. Or simply a special occasion and a date night. The vibes were amazing. The rooftop bar is located in the Omni Hotel and the views offered are great. We came during the evening and were very surprised to find it pretty slow on a Friday night. Initially, we planned to sit outside, but a bit too nippy and then realized the firepits were RSVP so we returned inside. Lightup menus are cool, but they died before we could actually place an order. We looked funny I'm sure tapping and looking around for the light on them... no, they just died... haha. Decided to do only cocktails. Margarita & Vodka Martini... Both were good and as expected, the price tag was much more than our previous stops... Decor and ambiance are exceptional. Planning to return again with the hopes that the vibe is up and kicking but with friends. I wouldn't recommend it as your only drinking spot as it will get expensive with the quickness... and this is Tempe, not Vegas so plan accordingly. read more

I have been wanting to come here for quite some time. I remember seeing a post on Instagram when it first opened, and it's taken me a while to get here. This really is a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. When you get off the elevator on the 16th floor you are at the entrance to this rooftop bar and restaurant. There is a large dining room with a long bar, and an outside patio with dining tables and fire tables. It's surrounded by glass, so even though the roof is open, it's very safe. There were string lights and pine Garland and a really pretty Christmas tree next to the bar. Not sure how it's lit up when it's not holidays. Our server was very nice and very helpful. I love mezcal, but I know many people do not like it. When I ordered my drink, the watermelon sunset, he made sure to ask if I had had mezcal before. By the way, the menus are lit from behind. It's like a book made of two tablets. My cocktail, the Watermelon Sunset, was fantastic--very spicy with jalapenos floating on top - - but so good. Hubs ordered the Lucero burger, a half pound burger a veal and short rib topped with bacon jam. It was quite large, and he liked it a lot. I had the lobster and chorizo fundido, which came in a little crock and was served with a side of blue corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and cheese. You just made up your own tacos by spreading the lobster and chorizo mix on your tortilla. It was luscious with large chunks of lobster. I really liked it. This place has so much going for it. This rooftop bar is located on top of the Omni hotel and is open to anyone, even if you're not staying at the hotel! When you get off the elevator, you can order drinks and food at the bar. One thing that was SO COOL was that their menus light up!! I ordered the elderflower mojito and it was very tasty and good quality. After ordering, we walked to the outdoor patio and took in the views of the city. Because this bar is on the rooftop, you can see pretty far and it's very pretty to see the city at night! The lighting on the patio was cute, and they have heaters and fireplaces for if you get cold. The bartenders were nice, and I enjoyed getting to walk through the hotel on the way to and from the bar to see the festive Christmas decorations. read more

The 4 stars are mostly for the ambiance and the view. You can't really see the sunset from the outdoor seating areas which was disappointing. However, you can't go over to the glass railings to take some photos with the city scape. We came here with a couple of friends and had a nice time catching up and having food together. We got the Wagyu tacos (only 2 with no side), and the burger (no side) and fries added as a side. The burger was the best item, hands down. It was cooked really well and it was a nice patty size. The wagyu was too tough. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for 2 small tacos for the price. The fries weren't anything special unfortunately and I wouldn't get them again. What our friends ordered looked really good and their drinks looked delicious as well. I would come here for the view again but I'd pass on the wagyu next time. read more

First time here last night and I can't wait to return. Had an amazing date night with my wife here. The service was wonderful, the tapas and drinks were delicious, and the views were spectacular! I had flowers delivered for my wife and the staff was so accommodating and helped me pull off a sweet surprise for my wife. They kept in constant communication with me and fulfilled my every request. I highly recommend you catch the sunset here it's absolutely stunning. The venue is gorgeous and seats are perfectly spaced so you're not unwillingly overhearing the next table's conversation. We were seated outside but I believe you'd have amazing views whether seated outside or inside. Every single dish was delectable. They're tapas so they're smaller plates so I recommend getting 2 - 3 dishes per person. This food was amazing. The empanadas were delicious! I shared them with a friend and we were genuinely surprised how tasty it was, it was delicious. We also got the truffle fries which weren't pictured, my friend thought they were too salty but I love salty so I thought it was perfect, it was so good. Our server was kind and very attentive. He even gave us a free mojito. The menu was funky tho, it wasn't organized so we didn't like that, but we also found out the menu changes every few months apparently. Terrible service. We checked in at the roof top bar wanting to enjoy our evening, the lady who greeted us (Maria) was rude and dismissive from the start. Since we didn't have reservation, she asked us to seat ourselves at the couch. No menu, nothing. There were a bunch of college students already occupying the couch. When we asked her where we should be seated, she dismissed our concern and asked us to wait until they leave as they had a table reserved outside. There were plenty of empty tables inside and a few outside. They totally ignored us. The whole experience ruined our evening. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

It is with great regret that I leave this review. I mean I literally waited several days to post this. I say firstly, that the ambiance at this establishment is second to none, the aesthetic is visually pleasing and the views from this rooftop lounge are amazing! With that being said the service was terrible! I attended a birthday party of 12. I'm not sure if it was the fact that our party was large or that the service is always this bad but I and my party were highly disappointed. So many things went wrong from long wait times on drinks, to undercooked dishes, to me not even receiving my food order! Bad, bad, bad.... The Omni hotel is a great addition to downtown Tempe. We were seated immediately at Lucero's bar without any reservations. The views are unmatched! I would advise coming around 5pm so you can catch the sunset. The desert sunset marg was very good, and it came with a little squeeze pouch of hibiscus syrup to sweeten the cocktail. Located in the Omni Hotel on the 16th floor Lucero was a great dining experience. I had made reservations on Open Table and upon arriving I was warmly greeted by Paige. Paige noted my reservation and offered me inside out outside dining. As I'm not from the area and dining outside in November is a novelty I opted for outside which then Paige offered any available seat including a fire pit table! It was a slow Wednesday, so I sat there. I have a soft spot for fire pit tables on slightly chilly nights. This was one of the best I have sat at as the glass ensured protection while the open top kept me warm. If I stood I found it very hot, but sitting the fire was cozy. I caution, putting anything near the fire would eventually warm the item which I found with the menu. The menu is fun. I appreciated the aesthetic immediately and loved sitting by the fire, listening to live music, and taking in the city at night. Ryan, the server who waited my table, was equally warm and welcoming as Paige. Ryan made spot-on recommendations from the shrimp tacos to the cocktails. He was impressively busy but always ensured I was checked in on and I never was left wanting either food or drink. The shrimp tacos were delicious. Lots of shrimp, soft tortilla, not too big or too messy. The cocktails were fun and tasty. The Strawberry 75 is basically a twist on a French 75 with strawberries. The Cucumber Southside was a bit spirit forward, bright, and tart. I loved it. My favorite though was the Sparkling Guava Colada - it was amazingly balanced and super easy to drink. I didn't find it as sweet as a piña colada typically is, but more nicely sweet with the Prosecco and pineapple juice in perfect harmony. I had a great night here. read more

Now that the weather is a great temperature this time of the year I've been waiting to enjoy somebody's rooftop bars and restaurants throughout the city. This is choice number one and they did not disappoint. The ambience of the place with live music and great drinks. The service was pretty good, the server was nice. She was a bit hard to fine from time to time but we were chilling, so it didn't really bother us. We ordered several things all the food was very good qualities. I didn't get a chance to sit at the fire pits and relax, but next time I will definitely choose that sitting area to enjoy myself, I recommend if you are looking for a nice chill night with live music and a great view that you try to spot. I ordered the burgers with fries. A little surprised how sweet it was. Threw me off at first, but the more I tried, the more I was vibing with it. Tasty! The rooftop was super cute. Semi causal, all the guests were well dressed and the ambiance was very chill. AND!!! All of us saw a shooting star during our dinner! So magical! Our waiter was super accommodating and friendly. He made the experience that much better. There isn't any free parking around (that I know of) but you can pay valet at the Omni. There are also metered parking and garages nearby. Decided to do a date night since we didn't go out of town for holiday weekend. Nice dinner an sunset. Made reservation but I guess for the season it was unnecessary since it was pretty empty when we arrived. I guess the pro to going during summer is that sunsets are later and it clears out for ASU gammage theatre. We were there for view and they sat us where our view was limited/blocked. VERY disappointing. The food was great and Jayvan did an amazing job of serving us. Not too absent and not too attentive. I will say it was great to get out but would not frequent again. Valet parking only at $15 and it is not waived for Lucero. The sun sets in the west and view is limited as majority of the seating faces north. Outdoor deck is on the east end so again limited for sunsets as you have to look through the whole restaurant to see it. Limited menu and nothing blew us away to go back. Great for those staying at the Omni or visiting the area but not worth making a special trip for. read more

We finally got a chance to check out Lucero after all the hype in social media. The hotel building itself is beautiful and in a prime location with valet parking. I didn't expect the restaurant to be so casual after seeing how fancy they made it seem online. The patio area is a lot smaller than expected and the lighting is very bright so it's not as intimate for a dinner setting. The views are amazing so it's worth it but the service was extremely slow and unfortunately the food was extremely salty and the portions were very small for the price point. Not sure if we'll be going back. read more

What a great way to start the night. Friday night is always date night and today we just wanted to keep it really mellow and enjoy each others company. We had a reservation for 7 but arrived about 45 minutes early and the hostess was super sweet and sat us anyway. I'm my opinion the best 2 seater indoor table in the place. Full view of the skyline and we caught the sunset which is always a treat. They had a live performer who was also really good. I'm telling y'all it's giving date night vibes for sure. It wasn't packed or rowdy or "clubby". It started to get a little more crowded and you could tell the club crowd was starting their night with dinner around the time we were leaving so depending on what you are looking for vibe wise you can find it just Siri g a different timeframe. Our server was Kady (like Lady but with a K), and she was just fantastic. Super friendly and genuine and knowledgeable. We chatted about ASMR and she was so fun! Came to check on us the perfect amount of time and made sure we were all set. You can tell she is a people person and knows her stuff. We only came for the view, a couple apps and dessert before heading to see a movie. Had the truffle fries and the chips with dip which isn't as basic as it sounds lol it was all really good. Churros were FIRE! Light and moist inside and light and crispy outside. Will def be back for those. I know others were a mixed bag for the service but that wasn't our experience and we weren't all dressed up like others just pretty casual. I would 100% recommend asking to have Kady as a server. She also at one point bussed our table because a bidder wasn't available and she didn't want to leave dirty plates there and that's just the type of general service and attentiveness you don't really get all the time anymore.
