We finally got a chance to check out Lucero after all the hype in social media. The hotel building itself is beautiful and in a prime location with valet parking. I didn't expect the restaurant to be so casual after seeing how fancy they made it seem online. The patio area is a lot smaller than expected and the lighting is very bright so it's not as intimate for a dinner setting. The views are amazing so it's worth it but the service was extremely slow and unfortunately the food was extremely salty and the portions were very small for the price point. Going to Lucero you need to go with the idea that you won't have the typical dinner with entrees and sides. Everything on the menu is a la carte. In my opinion Lucero is best to grab some drinks and a snack - not a full dinner. Originally we were sat outside and service was slow and the setting was kind of off. We moved inside, sat at the bar, and received much better service there. Try the double roasted cauliflower and the churro sundae was great! read more

The vibe was dope, the views were great, the food was excellent, gave off downtown Chicago rooftop vibes for me. Perfect date night spot for sure or meet up place. Everything was solid but I will say, there's a $15 parking fee you have to pay, just a heads up. Valet only unless you wanna walk a couple blocks. Anyways, here's what I tucked into. Prickly Pear Limeade & Lobster Chorizo Fundido - Yoooo, both were legit. Limeade was super refreshing, not too sweet, and the Lobster/Chorizo Fundido, major drool Big chunks of Lobster, Chorizo, Queso Oaxaca, Salsa Fresca and Fresh Blue Corn Tortillas. Must order for me. Wagyu Tacos - where do I start!?! So damn good, Medium Rare Grilled Wagyu, Jalapeño Remoulade, Salsa Molcajete, Pickled Onions and Housemade Blue Corn Tortillas. Yoooo. If this is all you're ordering I would recommend adding an extra taco ($7), trust me. Santa Cruz Tuna Tostadas - Super fresh and super yummy. Big Chunks of Fresh Tuna, Chile Rojo, Cucumbers, Avocados, Red Onions and Roasted Peanuts, perfect summer dish, especially if you're sitting outside Scallop Ceviche - Another fresh one, Scallops cured in Citrus, sitting on a bed of Avocado Mousse, Jalapeños, Cilantro Oil Drizzle, topped with a Strawberry Pico, daaaaamn. Haha was hella good. Birria Empanadas - Short Rib Birria, Queso Asadero, Cilantro, and Onion stuffed into a perfectly cooked Empanadas, soaking in a bed of Birria Consume, Muah! Chef kiss for sure. Not over salted at all, perfectly flavored. Highly recommend. Spice Churro Fries - Okay. So I wanted the Mangoñada Cobbler but the server recommended the Churros. I will say they were really good and fried perfectly, but a one time order for me. What was really good was the Caramel Anglaise (Wow!) so good. Didn't care much for the Chocolate Syrup or the Strawberry Catsup, but overall a good dessert. I really enjoyed this place, like I said the ambience was dope, the food was good, it was vibey, definitely a good place to check out for sure. Terrible service. We checked in at the roof top bar wanting to enjoy our evening, the lady who greeted us (Maria) was rude and dismissive from the start. Since we didn't have reservation, she asked us to seat ourselves at the couch. No menu, nothing. There were a bunch of college students already occupying the couch. When we asked her where we should be seated, she dismissed our concern and asked us to wait until they leave as they had a table reserved outside. Came by on a Friday night with friends and while the AC was out, we were okay to sit outdoors despite the warm weather. Our waiter was great and kept the water glasses full. We split a bottle of Prosecco, a charcuterie board, and the bison tartare. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of the menu because it does look like it was updated and not the same as the one posted on the website. The wine and board were good, nothing special. We had chosen the bison tartare since it was something we hadn't seen before and never had - I'm not sure if it was how bison tasted in general or how it was marinated, but there was a strong taste to it; felt like it paired better with the bread from the board than the crackers it came with - again, nothing wrong with it and glad to have tried it, but not sure I'd order it again. There is only valet parking and the first two hours are $15 as a heads up. The atmosphere and view was really nice, but giving it 3 stars with the valet parking and since we didn't have anything special aside from the bison tartare, can't really say much for their menu (though never seen one with a backlight so that was nice as it got darker). Would still recommend it to others and come back to try other dishes/drinks (and update my review later)! read more

This place is located inside the Omni hotel on the rooftop. My friend and I made a pit stop here while we were taking a walk and were curious about the new hotel. After checking out the restaurant on the ground floor, we saw there was a rooftop restaurant so we took the elevator to the rooftop. The place up here is beautiful. Everything about this place was thoughtfully planned and placed. Wide open windows with views of Tempe, ample seating, beautiful decor and really relaxed, classy feeling. Indoor and outdoor seating. They have cool light-up menus. We were greeted by the hostess, who was extremely helpful and nice. Her service definitely contribute to the decision to stay and have a drink. She told us about the place. This is a place for small bites and drinks. They take reservations on OpenTable but also accepts walk ins. We were seated immediately in our location of preference, on the outdoor patio. The majority of the clientele was on the outdoor patio. There was a live performer. We came here at sunset so there view was beautiful. It's not a completely clear view of the skyline due to surrounding buildings, but it does offer a decent view for its location. We stayed for a drink. I had a cocktail and my friend had a beer. Drink was pretty good. Our server was very fast, very informative and great as well. We didn't try any food, but the plan is to come back. I definitely recommend this place and see this as an up-and-coming hotspot. read more

So Yummy! Came here for my anniversary and had such a good time! We requested the patio but was unfortunately closed off due to an event but the inside of the restaurant was just as nice. It was pretty quiet and romantic. We got the empanadas which were so good that we bought 2 orders! We also shared the shrimp tacos which were alright but cured our hangryness. Beautiful rooftop Bar/Restaurant overlooking Tempe and the mountains! It is a little on the pricey side since it's in a hotel but the drinks were great and the food was also tasty. Would recommend to see the sunset here! You just enter through the Omni Hotel lobby and take the elevator up. Food: we ordered the smoked tuna dip and the spreads. Both were overpriced. It was $18 for the spreads and $20 for the tuna dip. I was most excited for the tuna dip, I was expecting ahi tuna though and then what we got looked and tasted like canned tuna. It came with potato chips and honestly was so salty I didn't want to eat it but was hungry so I did anyways. The spreads were fine, the green one was awful, tasted like baby food. The red one was very good and then the hummus was nothing special. Drinks: We enjoyed the drinks. My friend got the desert sunset and she enjoyed it. I got the cucumber southside, I asked the waiter for a not sweet drink and it was still pretty sweet but was refreshing too. Sooooo is it a restaurant or a sports bar definitely not a lounge? I left not knowing. The place is good, the service is good. Honestly everything is good but I feel like they missed the mark with setting the tone. So on IG, every post gives me "upscale lounge" feel. Especially with the fire pit and couches. The drinks give me "rooftop" vibes which was on point. But the ambiance... hmmmm they missed it. It's not a cute date spot unless you solely want to talk with no music. There is a DJ from 6pm to 9pm (confusing hours, I know) . It is in a hotel so valet is available. Which I loved because I went dressed to impress but once inside it felt like a sports bar. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star review is because I was really looking forward to a charred steak on the menu. To our surprise the menu changes quarterly. Needless to say we weren't looking forward to the current menu, however we were pleasantly surprised. We order the Hangar steak and Chicken and dumplings along with the cauliflower. TLDR: Great vibe, great service (waitress wise, Aracely specifically AMAZING), great view, great drinks. Horrible food horrible hostesses and I'm not picky. Long review: The vibe, the aura, the decor, view is amazing. If you want great pics and to feel good while you drink, this place is AMAZING. The food? The hostesses??? Horrible. The hostesses: they will not be friendly or helpful unless you're the skinny, white, influencer type. We came right at open (4 pm) and asked for outdoors, they said it was fully reserved, which is understandable. But then said they don't know if they can fit us in the main area. No one there. fully open. Stayed fully open until we left (6:30 pm). There were two girls at the bar that went up to the hostesses and asked if they could go outside and she said, "Yes no problem!" So yeah, whatever that situation is there. Food wise: Listen I'm not trying to bash the chef because I can see the effort behind the dishes, but wow they are SO BAD. They are plated beautifully but the taste? I don't know if he was sick or a smoker but everything was SALTY, and I love salt!! I can usually be okay with the food, and push through but WOW. The wagyu sliders were good, beef short rib croquettes and grilled halloumi were good enough. Nothing grand but hey still good enough, borderline salty. Enter the cast iron scallops. For $36 you would hope they would be great. You get three pieces on top of a tomato sauce and their "squid ink tuile" has no squid ink taste, but PURE SALT. Scallops are salty on their own and that topping was just pure salt that you don't expect because you would think a chef would know not to add more salt. That bite felt like I was taking a tablespoon of iodized salt. So horrible. The scallops were not seared crispy. Waste of $36. The lucero spread came with naan bread that you expect to be toasty and crisp and they were just oily and soggy with all the oil. Listen I wouldn't complain if this was a dive bar, but for a "fancy" place that costs more than the average bill, you would expect higher quality food. I would come back if they changed out the hostesses and chef changed his tastebuds. read more

Had high hopes for this place with the way it was presented on the instantgram but it twas a bit of a let down. Had intended to do a full dinner but cut it short. $16 for an old fashioned. I can deal with that price but if I'm paying that much at least use a solid ice cube/ball and not the same ice you use for regular drinks. That's just a no no. We grabbed two appetizers and they were small portioned, not very big. Our server, who was great, noticed we hadn't gotten the second one and got that out quick with with some extra chips on the side. We overheard another table voicing their concern over food so we decided to cut our loss and call it with the two drinks and apps. Plan on paying a few bucks for valet parking at the hotel or figure another parking option. View was nice, great ambiance, staff were all very nice, no issue with the service we received. My first visit to this restaurant back in March of 2024 was totally different experience. It was a 10/10!!! The waitress was wonderful. Now my visit tonight was a 2/10! Jayvon was not inviting, I was there to celebrate my Birthday. I flew in all the way from Chicago. Firstly, I believe he needs some additional training. He didn't ask why were we there. I put that on my reservations.Once we got our food he didn't come out until we were almost done eating. This is my new go to spot that's always at the top of my list for rooftop bars in Tempe. I'm always recommending it to my friends as a fun place to stop or a great date night. I get a raspberry and lemon drop martini every time it is so yummy. I've sat outside on the patio and the view was just glorious. As well as the bar is very comfortable and has a super cool telescope. The whole place lights up at night with the lights and the view of the city. It is just gorgeous here. The truffle fries are amazing and I'm due back to enjoy an entire meal. Everyone is always more than accommodating and helpful. You are bound to have a great time here. read more

This place has the coziest and cutest atmosphere - I felt transported outside of Tempe. When you enter the hotel, immediately you can tell it's an elevated experience.
