So I was in the mood for sweets this morning, the wife & I hit the streets. We decided to try Lucette Grace. Ample seating for the lunch crowd with a few tables for small groups. There were many choices if TRYING to avoid a lot of sugar, which I was UNTIL I saw the sipping caramel. The gentlemen offered a small sample and I gladly accepted then ordered a warmed version with the marshmallows & whipped cream. HELLO SUGAR BUZZ.... It took quick care of my sweet tooth, and probably has a gazillioin calories. The Dixie cannonball was also warmed and to my surprise it was a sausage gravy inside!! Savory, YESS.. to balance out the sugar i just consumed!! (For the win!!) My wife got the blueberry muffin was the right amount sweet. First bite she felt it was corn bread-ish in consistency but felt more muffiny at the end. Coffee was great. Best macaroons in town. I've tried a few macaroons since coming to Raleigh and this bakery kills it every time.

Excellent French pastries that are so good you will have a hard time controlling yourself!...I ate two!....when I had intended to eat only a small portion and take at least half of both to go. I wasn't pleased with their small glass size for an iced latte but I got the ice in a separate glass which helped and the coffee was very good. Also, they should have a cinnamon shaker out for patrons to use for their coffee drinks; they did get some cinnamon from the kitchen for me (but that's an unnecessary waste of time and excess cinnamon put into a ramekin). read more

Are you kidding? This place does exist. The best coffee and sugary deliciousness on the planet. So, all you dieters - steer clear. This is not the place for you. I repeat, do not attempt to enter. The pastry case will grab you by the eyes and nose and not let go until your mouth joins the party, and oh what a party it is! The macarons are irresistibly pretty and fresh. The prices are great! Delicious curry chicken sandwich for less than $7, warm almond milk for $75, macarons less than $3. The music they play is fun, kinda groovy but not intrusive if you want to focus on conversation or reading. The barristers are kind and will explain anything for you to help decide what to get. Great little cafe to stop buy if you're visiting Raleigh! Food: the quality of the food is overall excellent. I ordered - Lemon Meringue Tart - beautiful presentation all around. The lemon filling is very smooth and that perfect slightly oozy consistency. The flavor has a lot of great lemon notes that come through well, but just slightly too salty. The crust is the perfect balance - not too hard or too soft. Overall great dessert. Choux Pouf - I dont remember the full name of this cream puff but there was fantastic incorporation of tropical flavors. The ratio between cream and choux pastry was perfect. The cream was light (not super heavy) and I loved the tropical fruit flavors. Curry Chicken Sandwich - good tasting curry flavor in the filling. I really liked the filling actually - good amount of chicken to sauce. The croissant was a tad burnt though. Decor: this place was so cute and clean! Loved the deco theme and it even showed in the cutlery. Service: the people were very nice and they bus the dishes for you. It is a tad pricey for what you get, which is why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Mom had been wanting to stop here to try the macarons (she is on a mission to try every one... in the area, if not the world.) We were nearby so stopped in. It's a sleek little place, reminiscent of many French places. The macarons were just okay- too soft, not very flavorful. (They should be subtle, but come on, you need to be able to tell the flavors apart.) I got a bbq pimento croissant for later; heated up for breakfast the next day, it was fantastic. Great pulled pork, great cheese, great pastry, all working together perfectly. I might skip macarons next time and try some of the other tantalizing baked goods. Prices are reasonable for what you get, and though we got things to go it looked like a nice place to sit and snack. read more

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Lucettegrace yet! If you want some fancy pastries in downtown Raleigh Lucettegrace is the way to go 100%. The pastry case is beautiful, the pastries look almost too pretty to eat, almost. They seem to have a few confections that are always there like the macarons and the candy bar pastry the rest they switch it up seasonally. I went in the other day for the stone fruit cream puff, it was pretty tasty! Not sure, I'd get it again though, so many flavors happening. I also got their chocolate and coffee pastry which was amazing. As far as drinks go you literally can't go wrong with their decadent hot chocolate, such a treat, so delicious! I always enjoy their macarons, I haven't met a flavor I didn't like! I like the Lebanese iced tea, it has rose water and pine nuts in it. I've been for lunch a handful of times and the sandwiches never disappoint. They use all their own fresh baked bread so it gives it that extra awesomeness. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but that's true for most spots downtown. Perfect spot to impress out of town guests or to just treat yourself. read more

Finally made it here yesterday after hearing amazing things! I live about a half hour away and will always drive for pastries. They were gorgeous! Customer service awesome and the cleanliness of place perfection. My only complaint would be there were only three pastry options to choose from so I expected a case full perhaps. The cutest little coffee shop right downtown! We stumbled in to warm up and caffeinate on a cold day and I'm so glad we did! There is more seating inside than I expected; the shop looks very small from the street but it's deeper and larger than it looks. They had lunch entrees and breakfast pastries that looked really good, but all we got was coffee and a couple macaroons. The coffee was great and the macaroons were delicious but the real draw for me was the desserts. We didn't order any because we had had lunch not long before and were super full. BUT I will definitely be back because these desserts looked incredible! First of all, they are beautiful, like they look like art and are almost too pretty to imagine eating. Second, some of the flavors sounded so interesting! For example, there was a raspberry passion fruit tart that looked amazing! I would never think to put pistachio or cherry in chicken salad but it's the RIGHT CHOICE. Combined with the delicious croissant... incredible. The ham sandwich is also quite tasty.
