The staff were really nice, welcoming, and patient since it was my first time there. I got an iced matcha and it was really good. I asked for sugar free vanilla, but it was still too sweet for my liking. I gave it to my daughter who, of course, loved it. I also had a cheese croissant that was amazing! Croissants are my favorite pastries so I was very happy with it. I also tried some sort of crème brûlée pastry, but I honestly did not like that one. My kids didn't care for it too much either. They had plenty of other things to choose from to try so I can't wait to go back. All in all this was a really good bakery. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

Crème brûlée, Boston cream donut, and an eclair

We stopped here right after visiting the restaurant next store. They have lost of amazing pastries and coffee. We ordered the crème brûlée, Boston crème donut, and an eclair. The flavors of everything was amazing! The crème brûlée had an excellent sugar crust and creamy custard. Probably one of the best I've tried. The crème from the donut and the eclair was super tasty and not as sweet as others you may have tried. There is no lack of filling in the donut! It was probably a solid pound by itself. The service was quick and friendly. The inside is quite cozy and has places to sit and enjoy your pastries and coffee! I will come back to grab a coffee!

Best bakery in the area by far. Their croissants and pastries are all amazing - I love the cookie croissant, spinach croissant, lemon blueberry croissant, brookies, etc. Their coffee is also delicious & very reasonably priced for a local shop.

A bakery I havnt tried yet? Sure why not. There is a select varieties of coffee and pastries here. Bakery has indoor and outdoor seatings. Staff is informative and quick to service. I came here just for the Bombolonis. I was so excited to try this. It wasnt as fresh cause I came in late. The bomboloni didnt taste what I expected to be. The donut is a bit stale. I tried the strawberry vanilla, guava and creme brulee. It was okay. Ill come early next time and try again.

We came here as a group of 5 to share a bunch of different pastries. You order at the counter and then they will bring it out to you at your table if you eat in. There is some limited seating inside for small parties as well as some outdoor seating. All of the pastries were good, but my favorites were the khachapuri and the mango mouse. My friends really liked the pistachio raspberry croissant.

When I left North Carolina three years ago, this location used to be a croissant spot. When we arrived in town for my son's graduation, he said that he wanted to take me to this same location for Mother's Day, and that it is an amazing bakery now with these warm, fresh donuts that I must try, stuffed with lots of different jams and fillings, sprinkled with sugar, called Bombolinis. Don't ask me twice. I'm always down for trying a bakery. We were lucky to find parking when we pulled up (private lot and street parking available), and the place was packed, understandably, for Mother's Day. There are patio seats and indoor seating, and the order line was stretching around the tables and out the door. We quickly grabbed a spot in line and I barely had time to snap photos, Lol. I wanna say those cinnamon rolls in the pastry case looked amazing, smothered in thick cream cheese. Our crowd ordered our lattes and pastry items. We chose to get our croissants warmed up and we took everything to-go. There are napkins and utensils by the door so you can grab them and throw them in your bag on your way out. We broke into our warmed spinach croissants and cheese croissants while on the road. My creamy spinach croissant was amazingly delicious. My sister also loved hers. My son said he should've gotten the spinach because it looked and tasted better than the cheese croissant. I will definitely order again. I had to save room because I knew I was trying my Bombolini soon. I chose the Raspberry Pistachio Bombolini. My daughter and sister chose the Blueberry Lemon Bombolini. Let me just say make sure you have a change of clothes or you are eating this stuffed donut with a lot of napkins because the fillings are jam-packed and juicy. They were running down my hands and I had to run into a bathroom to wash up. My sister had an incident with her Bombolini - it squirted all over her shirt right before her flight. Luckily, she had a change of clothes ready. Definitely worth it. Delicious fresh pastries, here with rotating and seasonal amazing flavor combinations. Ambience was loud, bustling, and happy on this Mother's Day Sunday morning.

The Paul and Jack bakery was everything! I went three times on our short visit to Raleigh. Someone recommended another bakery and we went there as well but it honestly did not live up to Paul and Jack's. I even got my coworkers hooked! They still talk about it months later. Everything I had was exceptional. But the savory and sweet items were delicious. I wish we had one of these locations in Beaufort, South Carolina.

After hearing all the hype for Paul and Jack bakery, I was so happy to finally stop in and enjoy it. Paul and Jack bakery is tucked into a cozy corner of Raleigh. There's a small parking lot and some street parking nearby, so I was not worried about driving here. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a fully stocked and absolutely filled display case of baked goods and treats. The hardest choice was narrowing down a final selection. They also have coffee and other drinks that can be made from you. It's a busy place, but the line moved fairly quickly. While you wait, you can watch the bakers behind the glass make treats in real time. Definitely a very cool aspect of this cafe. I ordered a sesame drink, and it was okay. I also tried a pavlova for the first time, and I think it just wasn't for me. Overall, I give this place a 4 because I didn't love the two items that I ordered, but it might just be that I chose the wrong items. I will also say that tables here are limited, and it was really loud and noisy here. I'm hopeful though about my next visit, and will have to come back.

Ambiance is super cute. I have little ones and the little kiddie section is a great idea. I can enjoy my coffee and get a little break. Desserts we tried were delicious, can't wait to go back!

This time I decided to get the cheesecake topped with berries (can't remember the actual name) and it was absolutely amazing! I knew the cheesecake was gonna be a hit and I was right. I also got a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting on top and it came out so warm and delicious. This was my absolute favorite thing I've tried.

I went in Saturday evening right before closing and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I'm very impressed with this bakery and the Macaron was delicious.

This was the sort of place that made me wonder if I was in the wrong neighborhood, as it was a dead old warehouse area where I stepped over broken glass on the way in. However, the interior left little doubt that I was in the right place. The spread was majestic; all very sweet and rich looking pastries of styles from across Europe, including Italian cream donuts and a Portuguese egg tart. I assume they were good, but having spent $100 on a massive spread of said pastries, they were ultimately devoured by other people before I even got a shot at them.

Wooooooooooooooooooow! Everything was great! I had to go back a second order cause I wanted to try more. This was great! Please go here! It was so amazing tasteful, great service, cute vibes. And really really favorable food.

The chocolate brownie is thick and rich, but not too sweet, and the marshmallow cream is divine, especially with the ice cream. A lot of their drinks and gin based, which I'm not the biggest fan of, but I always find something I can enjoy. The service is great and relatively quick, and everyone I've met there is kind and willing to help. The inside is a bit small, so smaller crowds are better and it does tend to get crowded later in the evening and on weekends. The outside street sitting area is nice too and hopefully will be fully fixed soon. Overall a great places to stop for drinks and desserts after a nice meal! And the menu rotates seasonally so you'll always have the chance to try something new!

First, since they are located in a congested area, finding on street parking is a bit of a challenge. Also, be aware that they have a "cash" policy during lunch hours which isn't indicated on their website. I was unaware of this policy until we saw the sign on the front door upon our arrival. When you first walk into their establishment, they have prominently displayed a sign to be sure to tip their staff. A bit unprofessional in my opinion! In addition, they have a large tip jar on the counter where you place your order, I guess in case you missed their other tipping sign! We placed an order for 3 burgers with fries and 3 iced teas which came to almost $62. The food was fine but nothing exceptional for the price! Due to the lettuce and other produce issues currently going on, I requested no lettuce or tomato but instead to add pickles. When the burger arrived to the table it literally had 1 small pickle chip sitting in the center of the burger! Is there a pickle shortage I am not aware of? My two family members had also asked to have the lettuce and tomato removed yet one of their burgers still came with both of those ingredients on the burger! On a positive note, the music they played was enjoyable and the photos displayed on the wall were a nice touch. Finally, one of the employees came to our table to ask us to leave so they could mop the floor! I was unaware they closed at 2:00, which was my error in not paying attention to the lunch hours on the website. However, I think they could have been more professional in letting us know their lunch hours were ending! We arrived shortly after 1:00 p.m. and mentioned to the guy taking our order that it was our first time there. It would have been a great customer service courtesy if he had mentioned they would be closing at 2:00 so we had the heads up to pay attention to the time, or we could have decided to go elsewhere so we weren't on a time limit. I don't plan to return for the above mentioned reasons and won't personally recommend them to my family or friends. However, if you choose to go, I hope your experience is more positive and that my review will help to eliminate the negative experiences I had during my one and only visit to Hayes Barton Cafe' & Dessertery!
