    Hot Oat Matcha Latte

When I left North Carolina three years ago, this location used to be a croissant spot. When we arrived in town for my son's graduation, he said that he wanted to take me to this same location for Mother's Day, and that it is an amazing bakery now with these warm, fresh donuts that I must try, stuffed with lots of different jams and fillings, sprinkled with sugar, called Bombolinis. Don't ask me twice. I'm always down for trying a bakery. We were lucky to find parking when we pulled up (private lot and street parking available), and the place was packed, understandably, for Mother's Day. There are patio seats and indoor seating, and the order line was stretching around the tables and out the door. We quickly grabbed a spot in line and I barely had time to snap photos, Lol. I wanna say those cinnamon rolls in the pastry case looked amazing, smothered in thick cream cheese. Our crowd ordered our lattes and pastry items. We chose to get our croissants warmed up and we took everything to-go. There are napkins and utensils by the door so you can grab them and throw them in your bag on your way out. We broke into our warmed spinach croissants and cheese croissants while on the road. My creamy spinach croissant was amazingly delicious. My sister also loved hers. My son said he should've gotten the spinach because it looked and tasted better than the cheese croissant. I will definitely order again. I had to save room because I knew I was trying my Bombolini soon. I chose the Raspberry Pistachio Bombolini. My daughter and sister chose the Blueberry Lemon Bombolini. Let me just say make sure you have a change of clothes or you are eating this stuffed donut with a lot of napkins because the fillings are jam-packed and juicy. They were running down my hands and I had to run into a bathroom to wash up. My sister had an incident with her Bombolini - it squirted all over her shirt right before her flight. Luckily, she had a change of clothes ready. Definitely worth it. Delicious fresh pastries, here with rotating and seasonal amazing flavor combinations. Ambience was loud, bustling, and happy on this Mother's Day Sunday morning.

The Paul and Jack bakery was everything! I went three times on our short visit to Raleigh. Someone recommended another bakery and we went there as well but it honestly did not live up to Paul and Jack's. I even got my coworkers hooked! They still talk about it months later. Everything I had was exceptional. But the savory and sweet items were delicious. I wish we had one of these locations in Beaufort, South Carolina.

A bakery I havnt tried yet? Sure why not. There is a select varieties of coffee and pastries here. Bakery has indoor and outdoor seatings. Staff is informative and quick to service. I came here just for the Bombolonis. I was so excited to try this. It wasnt as fresh cause I came in late. The bomboloni didnt taste what I expected to be. The donut is a bit stale. I tried the strawberry vanilla, guava and creme brulee. It was okay. Ill come early next time and try again.

We came here as a group of 5 to share a bunch of different pastries. You order at the counter and then they will bring it out to you at your table if you eat in. There is some limited seating inside for small parties as well as some outdoor seating. All of the pastries were good, but my favorites were the khachapuri and the mango mouse. My friends really liked the pistachio raspberry croissant.

This time I decided to get the cheesecake topped with berries (can't remember the actual name) and it was absolutely amazing! I knew the cheesecake was gonna be a hit and I was right. I also got a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting on top and it came out so warm and delicious. This was my absolute favorite thing I've tried.

After hearing all the hype for Paul and Jack bakery, I was so happy to finally stop in and enjoy it. Paul and Jack bakery is tucked into a cozy corner of Raleigh. There's a small parking lot and some street parking nearby, so I was not worried about driving here. When I first walked in, I was greeted by a fully stocked and absolutely filled display case of baked goods and treats. The hardest choice was narrowing down a final selection. They also have coffee and other drinks that can be made from you. It's a busy place, but the line moved fairly quickly. While you wait, you can watch the bakers behind the glass make treats in real time. Definitely a very cool aspect of this cafe. I ordered a sesame drink, and it was okay. I also tried a pavlova for the first time, and I think it just wasn't for me. Overall, I give this place a 4 because I didn't love the two items that I ordered, but it might just be that I chose the wrong items. I will also say that tables here are limited, and it was really loud and noisy here. I'm hopeful though about my next visit, and will have to come back.

I was so happy to discover Paul and Jack. The pastries are to die for! Everything I've tried has been so good ( a little too good, I have to watch myself lol). The coffee is also really good. I took one of my coffee snob friends there and he approved as well. The service is fast and the employees are really nice. It's a small place but it's clean and charming and has outdoor seating if it's a nice day.

This was the sort of place that made me wonder if I was in the wrong neighborhood, as it was a dead old warehouse area where I stepped over broken glass on the way in. However, the interior left little doubt that I was in the right place. The spread was majestic; all very sweet and rich looking pastries of styles from across Europe, including Italian cream donuts and a Portuguese egg tart. I assume they were good, but having spent $100 on a massive spread of said pastries, they were ultimately devoured by other people before I even got a shot at them.

Dropped by Saturday to check out this satellite of a Wake Forest gourmet great. The line was long and I picked up custard-filled croissants. All were gorgeous, and the raspberry pistachio was particularly delicious. Seating outside, though be prepared for no shade.

The service here was friendly and it was clean inside and good options for desserts. We tried a cake slice and a cookie and they were both really delicious. The cookie was the best. Oh we also had a lemon macaron and that was good too, nice and soft. Everything here though was super expensive. I'd say maybe slightly overpriced or maybe that's just how much bakeries are nowadays. I wish they would give you something for birthdays or have a reward program! That would be nice. I'd probably still be back though because it was good quality and pretty.

Late Sunday afternoon and we were in the mood for some good pastries! The shop was nice and clean. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. We had a pastel de nata, Brooki Oreo, triple chocolate and a creme brulee cheesecake. For drinks we ordered a matcha, coffee and an iced latte with brown butter cookie flavor. Full disclosure husband is Portuguese and been to Portugal a couple of times! The pastel de nata the flavor was rich and creamy, I thought I was back in Lisbon. We do wish it was a bit more crunchy but overall we would order it again! The creme brulee cheesecake was amazing! Our daughters loved their oreo brooki! The drinks were good too! The place is cute and has a few tables inside and it's a welcoming place for families with small children. Next time we are in Raleigh we will make sure we come back!! There was so many other things we want to try!

    Chocolate ganache cheesecake, and cappuccino.

We love Paul and Jacks Bakery! Everything is always delicious. The staff is kind and friendly. The bakery is beautiful, bright, and clean. We had cappuccino's and the chocolate ganache cheesecakes.

A Truly Artisanal Bakery…read more I rarely leave reviews on yelp anymore, but this bakery is so impressive, it inspired me to type this down. I'm from the Bay Area and loved going to all kinds of bakery when I travel. I did not have much expectations when I came to Raleigh. I tried Paul and Jack and couple other bakeries, they were all good, but not impressive. The first thing I noticed was their Mill Room, and second I noticed that they have 100 score on hygiene. Not that I care about the score that much but still impressive. Then We got a bunch of pastries, the shortbread was the first one we tried and wow, it was so simple yet so flavorful, truly malted tasting shortbread, it has so much depth in taste. Then I had a had a ham and cheese croissant, it was on the salty side but I kept eating it when I'm not even hungry. The true winner though, is the plain croissant I got which traveled with me for 72 hours back home. I got it out of my bag, slightly flattened by all my stuff, I expect it to taste flat and meh. I put it in the oven for 6 minutes and it turned out to be the best croissant I've had. It was flaky, soft and soo flavorful. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. Lastly, I want to say that with so many pop ups, new bakeries coming up in different cities, often times we were chasing that unique flavors, that special toppings on croissants, but Boulted Bread stayed true to bread, and perfected the craft without focusing on "exotic" or "special" flavors. I truly respect this.

A bialy (bee-AH-lee) is a traditional Polish-Jewish bread roll, similar to a bagel but with key differences: it is baked, not boiled, has a dimpled center filled with onion bits and poppy seeds, and is generally softer and less dense. Originating in Białystok, Poland, these rolls are traditionally served plain or toasted with toppings like butter or schmear. 2. Rye shortbread. Not too sweet. Just perfection! 3. Bran biscotti. I like the idea of a high-fiber bran biscotti over a refined flour one. 4. Buchi Tepache. I got the mango-pineapple flavor. This is a local NC brand. It's a mildly fermented drink that originated in Mexico. I got the ingredients from their website (drinkbuchi.com): Organic Tibicos (Water, Organic Fair Trade Certified™* Cane Sugar, Organic Kefir Culture), Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Mango Puree, Organic Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Organic Whole Lemon Puree, Organic Mango Natural Flavor, Organic Pineapple Natural Flavor, Organic Monk Fruit Extract. 5. The baguette. Unlike a refined flour white bread baguette at La Farm Bakery, this one is made of a red wheat flour. Turkey Red flour is an heirloom, organic hard red winter wheat brought to Kansas in 1873 by Mennonite immigrants. Prized for its rich, nutty flavor and superior baking qualities, it is often used for artisan bread, sourdough, and pasta due to its unique, sometimes more digestible, gluten profile. It is commonly stone-ground and available from local Kansas millers. 6. The star of the show was the Everything Croissant. Like the Everything Bagel but soft and buttery. Topped with all the sesame seeds and seasonings with a cream cheese interior. So good! I do plan on returning!

They've also got some custom beverages that you cannot find else. Super thumbs up for originality of cocktails, creative menu presentation, and speed of service! The derby pie was good- but I like mine with a denser filling. My friend enjoyed her strawberry pretzel pie, and the fact that not many places offer this on their menu. But, she said it was not as good as homemade. The gents in our party RAVED about how great Bittersweet's old fashioned drinks were! They said that these were definitely in the top three beverages they had ever had! This hole in the wall had a bridal party, some goth appearing folks, and suits too. In short, no matter what you like to drink, what you enjoy eating for dessert, you will find it here!

The space is fairly large and they stay open late (until 11 PM on weekends), making it a great place to hang out with friends or stop by to satisfy a sweet tooth during a night out. I've purchased their macarons as gifts, tried several desserts here and to-go, grabbed coffee and stayed to do work, and even stopped by for lunch. Their light bites are quite tasty, and I especially enjoy their phyllo-dough pastries. Their latte options are great--the flavors are creative yet still approachable, and the syrup options are delicious. Service is attentive and efficient. There's always a big team behind the counter, and instead of calling names, they give you a number and bring food or drinks directly to your table, which is so thoughtful! They can get quite busy at times - lots of families and big groups stop by to hang out. I enjoy the community it brings, though sometimes this is not the most ideal place to get work done.
