We went on a Thursday night for my hubs bd. They were doing a good business, but no waiting. Tables were clean and spacious, even in a booth. My hubby is a big guy( tall), and he was comfortable. The service and food were excellent. We have been to the fancy one in Raymond and like the Bridgton restaurant best. The service is great, it's always been clean and comfortable and the food is awesome. Hub had the Steak Rancheros, which were tender , hot, and delicious. The food here is fantastic! I had the beef Chimichangas and they were delicious! Well seasoned beef, crunchy tortilla, sauce bot too spicy, perfect! I have eaten here several times. The chicken soup is over-the-top delicious! There is a large amount of chicken in it. It has a half of avocado on top and some type of pepper. I remove the pepper because that is a little too spicy for me. This is the best chicken soup around. read more

Grabbed lunch here during a weekend trip in Maine and was surprised at how great this place was. They served us chips and salsa right when we got seated and were very friendly. The menu is quite large, since we came in at lunch, we were drawn to the lunch specials. We got a #2 (beef burrito) and a #10 (pork burrito), both came with beans and rice. We opted out of getting beans on #10 (thus the lack of beans on the plate in pics). The beef burrito was a bit salty but the rice it came with was wonderfully seasoned and cooked. The pork inside the pork burrito was really delicious - it was moist and flavorful. They also brought out a good assortment of hot sauces that really complemented the meal. This is our second visit and our last. New management has driven this establishment into the ground. First visit I asked for extra buffalo wing sauce, and when the bill arrived, I was charged seven dollars for a small dish of extra buffalo wing sauce. A pitcher of house margaritas was $32!!!!!!! Today's visit we were handed drink menus and my wife opted for a glass of wine which, according to the drink menu was six dollars per glass she had two and I had one Michelob ultra draft beer which had a big sign on the front door three dollars for a 16 ounce glass . When we cashed out, they charged us seven dollars for the glass of wine. When we questioned it with the waitress, she went back over to the podium, where you enter the restaurant and started rifling through the various drink menus and realized that some of the menu said six dollars and others said seven dollars. She came back over to the table and said that they should be seven dollars but realized she couldn't charge me that because they had found menus that showed six and then she said do you want your two dollars back. We sat on the gorgeous back patio: I was able to put my newborn's carrier right on a chair and she snoozed the whole time. We ordered Margaritas (with Hornitos, my go to) that were delicious and the house salsa and chips paired with it nicely. My pal has Celiac and this restaurant was gluten knowledge and she had many options. The waitress was prompt and friendly unanswered all of our questions. We both opted for lunch specials, I got the fish tacos she got the Speedy Gonzales. We both loved our meals. I've had many fish tacos in my life and these were amazing. So many textures, well seasoned fish that wasn't fried, and an excellent sauce. They were messy to eat in the best way. The rice and beans were also delicious. First time here, the parking lot the quite full but we had no problem getting a table right away. The menu is extensive, I could've been there for an hour just reading the menu and trying to decide. I love steak fajitas so I went with the grilled steak fajita taco salad. I'm not sure what kind of grill we're talking about here, but the pieces of steak in this salad were sadly not grilling size, unless we're talking about a griddle. They would fall through grill grates easily, they were really small. Definitely not the steak I expected. I saw a picture of steak fajitas in another review and it looks much different, so it may be that this is just the salad steak. The taco shell bowl was really good and the rest of the salad ingredients were good and really fresh. My friend ordered a burrito dish that she said was really good, but the description said 2 burritos and that seemed like a lot, so she asked if they're smaller size and she responded yes. They were not small. They really should offer half-size options on these meals. We weren't going somewhere that we could take leftovers, so an entire burrito ended up wasted. Loved the chips and salsa. The service could use some work - we both felt the server was not very friendly and seemed almost annoyed by our questions. She also took our plates at one point, but then left us sitting there wondering when she might return with our check. Eventually we packed up and waited by the door to pay because we were on a schedule. The ambience - we were sitting in the bar area, so maybe to be expected, but there was a uproarious group of 6 or 7 people behind us telling their life stories, just dropping F bombs left and right, which made for some awkward funny moments for sure. Bridgeton's hidden jewel. It doesn't look like much from the outside... or even the inside but the food and the service are fantastic. My husband and I have made this a weekly stop. The menu has something for everyone and they are more than accommodating when you need or want something not on the menu. The margaritas are great and the service is always friendly. So if you want a shiny restaurant then visit their other location. However if you are out looking for a spot for fantastic Mexican and some A+ drinks then this is the place to be. I've had quite a bit off their menu & have eaten here / ordered to-go quite often. It's a solid choice if you're looking for something to eat in the area and you're craving Mexican. My favorites: Special Combination. Combination Special. Whatever the name of it is. 2 full combos for $15. I'd love to be able to customize this and pay a bit more, but this is a solid, solid choice if you're really hungry and want something for later or just really, really hungry. I mean it comes with a taco on the side! It's an incredible value. Also, the stuffed poblano(s) with shredded chicken are fantastic. I'm a 6'1 230lb man, this is a very large double portion of food. I can't stress enough on the value of this menu item. The nachos (and the freakin cheese sauce that I may or may not drink). The things that really kill me: They have a "Burrito California" that's not at all a California burrito. It makes me cry every time I see it. They use ground beef. The things they do right make up for the things that are "meh", and I won't stop going here. I thoroughly appreciate having a convenient Mexican place in Bridgton. The inside is well decorated, albeit outdated, but I like my small town dive-y joints and this takes the cake for Bridgton. I wouldn't go here with a large party unless you give them advanced notice, went with 8 once and it wasn't the best experience for us or the waitress. read more

Usually I have no complaints eating here. My husband loves the fish tacos and some of the shrimp dishes, and I usually get veggie fajitas. My kids like their enchiladas. We arrived right when they opened on a Friday at 11:35 am, first customers. It was our anniversary, but my husband had to work that afternoon, so it was supposed just be a quick lunch. Ordered and then waited an waited some more, total of 40 minutes wait time for 2 entrees. Unfortunately my egg looked totally wrong, way overcooked and truly black on the underside. See the pic, the waitress said that the cook eventually said it was from some residue on the pan, but why send out a disgusting looking egg like that? I've never had a residue on my eggs from a pan like that. Waited another 10 minutes for waitress to return and then waited for a new entree. By that time I was kind of just over it and this is not what huevos rancheros should be anyway (what they serve is two eggs drowning in some green sauce with rice and beans and tortillas on the side; it should be a crisp tostada like shell, beans, eggs, and a little sauce). The waitress did not take away the bad order with the black eggs so it was still sitting there staring at me, and the new order eggs were totally overdone and slightly purple/ brown around the edges. I just let it go, because obviously they weren't going to get it right that day. There was no offer to reduce price or not charge for the uneaten entree and there was an up charge for black beans. I should have just gotten beans rice and tortilla because that was all I ate. Anyway, we'll be back because we are locals, but ugh, never eggs again. read more

Who has a Mexican restaurant in town and NO AVOCADOS. Bridgton! I am a local patron. The last two visits I was told no fresh guacamole because they don't have avocados. Ever since thus restaurant was sold it has gone downhill. The new paint job is good, but it has no atmosphere,no music and the food is just okay. House Margarita unfortunately was very poor. Maybe the upgraded "fresh" margarita is a little better. This place has to have changed hands. It was our go-to Mexican place last year. Tonight was our first meal since then and I don't think we'll be back. The margaritas (which normally are delicious and we would even order some to-go) were difficult to drink. We were all adding salt to the mix or salt to our rims to try and make them more tolerable. Several glasses were left unfinished on the table. The food was of a mixed review. Some of us were ok but other dishes consisted of cold, rubbery steak, smelly pork or gross French fries. Not sure what has happened here but it was disappointing to say the least. We're going to give the Raymond location a try to see if it's any better but we're so sad over the state of the Bridgton location. So many good memories there from last summer...like two to three times a month... it's like mourning the loss of a good friend. read more
